I loved all of John Green’s books when I was a young adult and now as a grown adult the Anthropocene Reviewed is fantastic and heart breaking and hilarious all at once.

It’ll make you laugh, cry, and Hope. John Green has created a series of small, beautiful Masterpieces. I can only hope he is able to take the time to make more.

As I’m spending difficult days, this podcast is one of the things keeping me sane. Really interesting and also John Green is a real narrator.

Years later and I am still relistening to every single episode, each time getting something different out of it. John Green, THANK YOU!!!!!!

John green is incredible at writing, reading, and putting everything into these podcasts. His views on the way humanity has become too powerful and yet not powerful enough, on humanities temporal range, and on geese, are all deeply personal yet amazingly widespread and relatable. His way of explaining humanity from one small facet of human kindness is incredible. I know john has said on his YouTube channel: “don’t believe your hype, don’t believe your haters”. A generally good belief, but not quite five stars. I say this because I desperately want you to believe this small portion of your hype. This podcast has slowly become my own new partner, it’s made me cry and it’s made me laugh. It’s been there at very important junctions of my life, and though I do understand it’s hard to realize how anything you have created has reached others, I hope you understand how much this means to me. I love all your writing, the fault in our stars I discovered just after I had been diagnosed with kidney cancer, and it helped me through that phase of my life. I am now three years since the final round if chemotherapy, and still an enthralled by everything you’ve written. You are one of my favorite modern authors, and frankly, I’d read your grocery lists. I give the Anthropocene Reviewed five stars

I love this podcast so much. I have been brought to tears by a number of episodes. Not because they are sad but because they are so beautiful. John Green’s use of the English language and his style of writing take you on a little journey with each episode. You start off on a path that will often ver off in a totally unexpected direction. Just when you begin to wonder if you will ever get back to the topic at hand he brings you exactly where you need to be. That is when it all falls into place and you are thankful for the journey you just went on.

I’ve listened to every episode more than 10 times and just can’t get enough!! I can quote each one word for word and really fell like I know John green personally😂. This podcast has also inspired me to read all his books and I am so grateful for that because they, especially turtles all the way down, have changed my perspective of life. I can’t wait for more!! Thank you so much John for being able to take this time and make all of our lives better 🙃❤️

Honestly, I had no expectations when I found this podcast. I’m halfway through the episodes and dreading the end. I cry most episodes but I’ve stopped wondering if I’m the only one. I can’t be.

Quite beautiful, really. Sometimes it’s really hard to find good podcasts, and this one is VERY good. I love Green’s humor, ideas, writing, and sense of compassion for this current era, the Anthropocene. Everything about it is well written, well told, and well thought about. I truly love this podcast, more so then others. John’s journalism is unparalleled, and his thoughts on things are enlightening. Both the podcast and the book has brought me joy, interest, and tears. Thank you, John.

I feel sometimes my friends worry that I look at the world in a way that is too heavy. I am devastated by its injustice and suffering. Yet to me, I feel hope in this anyway. This podcast put words to this hope. It was not dismissive of suffering at all. This brings isolation rather than hope in my mind. Absolutely brilliant.

I really miss this podcast. It’s truly beautiful and worth a listen even though there aren’t new ones coming out.

Im 17, ive been listening to this podcast and the audio book since the beginning. It got me through changing schools and having no friends, and stupid college applications. john brings so much though provoking emotion and intelligence. I feel less alone and more understood. Thanks john.

I have been a fan of John’s work ever since I saw my first Crash Course video in high school and read Looking for Alaska. This podcast will make you laugh, cry, and think about the world in entirely different ways. My life has improved since stumbling upon this podcast and I believe yours will too. I rate it 5 stars.

I looked forward to new episodes of this in my feed more than any other podcast. Literally would see it drop in and immediately set aside time in my schedule to listen to it uninterrupted. I bought the book, but I hope John will return to this project again in the future and add more chapters…

John Green is irony personified. A novelist who himself is the tragic novel he won’t write despite being a hopeless navel-gazer. His language is flowery and whiny, making him like an unfunny Woody Allen. However, this podcast is a guaranteed cure to my insomnia. I give The Anthropocene Reviewed 5 stars.

I can’t even explain how much this podcast means to me. It’s helped me through so many of my tougher times and given me such a different outlook on life. Because of it, I’m a more thoughtful and reflective person. I truly can’t recommend it enough. The way John Green blends personal anecdotes, facts and history about the topic, and profoundly resonant ideas is just MAGICAL. It’ll make you think, cry, and laugh all within 25 minutes. I love each episode with all of my heart, and I really hope you take the time to listen to one. (If anyone’s wondering where to start, Auld Lang Syne is my absolute favorite!) Thank you, John Green, for making such a beautiful podcast and doing such wonderful things for the world.

I would have given it 5 stars but it’s made me cry every single episode. I honestly didn’t think I’d care for this show, I’ve never read his books and I was only tangentially aware he does YouTube stuff, but I’ve listened to every episode and cry at some point in the show. It looses a star because I don’t really enjoy crying on command.

I am not one to spend time re-listening to pods I’ve already heard. My podcast queue is constantly brimming over with plenty of new (or new to me) episodes begging for my attention. But THIS podcast… This is such a frickin’ treasure! I love John’s perspective, his sensibility and his gorgeous word choice. It’s 2022 as I write this and I just listened to ep 26 for the third time because my heart was aching for it as we are still sorting our way through the Covid pandemic and the climate crisis, among other threats to life as we know it. Thank you, John, for this incredible love project of yours!

Oscar Wilde defined a cynic as a person who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing. John Green is not a cynic. It is unsurprising that so much of the social media cacophony promotes sarcastic, defeatist, pessimistic, or nihilistic sentiments considering the political, socioeconomic, and climatological issues we face. One can be forgiven for falling into this trap, because the range and scale of the problems can feel overwhelming. This is the current average. By creating this podcast, and indeed the rest of his work, John Green has carved out a niche where listeners (or readers) can briefly step away from the hustle and hurry of our lives to examine something ostensibly common, even banal—a sunset, Kentucky bluegrass, Indianapolis—with fresh eyes, contemplative sincerity, and earnestness. It’s a refreshing and welcome change of pace. I am grateful to John Green for his gentle wonderment about our world, his carefully considered reflections, and for all the parts of himself he shares with his listeners, readers, and fans. 4.5 stars out of 5. Minus 0.5 stars for not releasing episodes more frequently.

I love listening to this right before bed. There’s no yelling or loud noises and it’s very calming. Usually learn something too.

John Green’s words are odd and moving and have made being human feel a bit less cold this week. Like a sunset, I give him 5/5 stars.

This episode really hit home with the Tetris stuff, not just because of the connection I too had with the game but also the other philosophical ruminations underlined by the author. It’s all’s so true. But from the way he described the genius of Tetris, I just don’t know why he gave it only 4.5stars, and not a full 5. The second part about the Russian seed banks and the scientists who gave their lives to help save humanity was a heartbreaking and riveting story also deserve a full 5 stars. So now the question I have for the author is what is -what does it take to get five stars? Btw you are officially my favorite writer now. I love the way you craft your sentences and illuminate your ideas and thoughts. You’re a terrific wordsmith and And it delights me to listen to your voice as well.
