    Great Podcast
I heard CJ first on Tom Woods’ show. I’m making my way through the Wilson history. I already had read he was a horrible president but I am Learning so much more about him and the political climate at the time. I also like it when CJ goes into different political thought and gives real examples of who held the belief and how it impacted history. I am telling my grown kids and my friends. I look forward to hearing more. CJ is a great researcher and conveys his learning as only a well honed teacher can.

    All I Heard
Woodrow Wilson part 4 all I heard him saying is that he was an ignoramus.

    Excellent content
Came from the Tom Woods show. This is a great podcast. Half way through the Woodrow Wilson series and am learning a lot. Great work CJ.

    Glad he is back
Host is very smart, very well read and generally tells good stories. He is a bit too libertarian at times but very rarely does that get in the way of his work.

    Too much “What if…”
A podcast that tries to appear credible but had to shake my head at the JFK conspiracy nonsense. The best evidence likelihood supports one shooter. Not sure what he’s talking about with various different types of rounds. Conspiracy theory nonsense masquerading as legitimate. Two stars for effort. I’ve listened to a number of your podcast episodes and now wonder how I never realized how deceptively likable this podcast was, until it wasn’t. Dangerous history? If that’s what gives your life meaning. Too bad it wasn’t a bit more based in reality. Whatever. One less podcast to take up my time with.

    Don’t be an enabler
Dude is highly skilled to put on great podcast., but he has a serious substance abuse problem. Do not financially support his podcast, it will only fuel his addiction.

    Tremendous History Podcast
An honest, immersive look at history. Be prepared to be shocked as the propaganda is peeled away, and the truth is revealed.

Woodrow Wilson the rest of the story
It’s pretty difficult to find an honest evaluation of Wilson, given the cluttered field of lib bios and documentaries that tend to focus on Wilson as an advocate for peace and ignore his racism, support of eugenics, and is the model for present war on the 1st amendment. CJ is a treasure.

    I normally one-star for this
But I won’t to an independent pod. Listen podcasters, you’re competing with an insane number of qualified shows. Opening with an ad, opening with 9 minutes of housekeeping betrays such a level of entitlement that I “aught to be listening.” I have literally been listening to podcasts since the beginning, no ads, no endless rambling about your other projects, just a raw desire to put on a show. I removed all downloads of this show, their one chance to grab me was spent telling me about housekeeping nonsense. Hope it was worth it guys. Learn the lesson.

    Informative, until today’s bizarre podcast
I have really enjoyed listening to CJ’s libertarian influenced take on history and occasionally current events. But today’s podcast with the host of the Perfume Nationalist was a little weird, to put it generously. I didn’t mind hearing a recap of pandemic mask/vaccine policies and being reminded of the hardships they caused for people, especially service workers. But then the guest went on about how Democrats are literally stealing elections, falsifying votes, rigging numbers… I understand CJ didn’t need to get hostile with his guest when they recorded but this shouldn’t have been included in the final product. It makes CJ seem less credible to me and I will be skipping his future podcasts on current events. This is unfortunate because I do respect his intellect and perspective, but he showed bad judgment seemingly agreeing to (or at least agreeing to air) a conspiracy theorist. Still giving three stars and hoping to continue enjoying his future work… just not the items on current events…

    Enlightening
CJ does a fantastic job breaking down subjects, I enjoy his mostly neutral commentary. I have learned so much mor than my 12 years in the sate run education system. Thank you CJ keep up the great work!

    So good.
Binge-listening…really enjoy CJ’s commentary on a wide variety of topics. Everything from John Carpenter to the atomic bombs. Had no idea about the Calusa Native Americans but enjoyed this episode the most so far. Thanks, CJ. New favorite show. Update: this podcast is a gem. Top tier stuff. On the level of Carlin but more historically honest …which I find more refreshing, tbh.

    An extremely interesting podcast
A highly nuanced view of history that you won’t find anywhere else.

    Great podcast
Not the typical history podcast. CJ differs from many other historians as he approaches topics that are largely ignored. When he does tackle a common topic his perspective tends to glean information from sources largely ignored by mainstream historians. Keep up the good work CJ!

    A Nee Way of Understanding
Started the podcast listing to the Slavery series and was blown away! It presented a new way of understanding slavery in U.S. and its impact on America today.

In the current episode I’m listening to you’ve read a letter for the last 7 minutes. Unfortunately I fell asleep after 3. Too long winded. Keep it moving!

    Anti-establishment with depth
If you’re waiting for the next season of revolutions for the Forgotten Wars Podcast to drop, dangerous History might be for you. The Woodrow Wilson miniseries is a good place to start.

    Great
If you’re pulling your hair out waiting for Hardcore History or Martyrmade to release something new this one is a decent podcast to satiate yourself. Most episodes are not nearly as long but the depth is still satisfying with a few of the 3+ hour episodes every now and again. Definitely more frequent episodes in comparison.

    Insightful and challenging
I enjoy listining to this podcast and always learn new facts and perspective that challenge the understaning I thoughts I had going into the podcast. Well done!

    Well chosen stories, well researched
The episodes are all very good and informative. The multi part episodes are always amazing. The series on the Not-So-Civil War is particularly good with some great production quality put into it and is a level headed look at the American Civil War. Keep up the great work, CJ!

Thought provoking, informative and well sourced. This podcast has a passion for liberty and provides historical records of the assault on individual freedom. Very worth supporting.

    Informative and insightful
I appreciate the well-informed perspective presented in this podcast. It’s an entertaining and educational listen. Independent thought is one the scarcest and most valuable things one can possess today.

Interesting. Well presented. Excellently narrated ! A fantastic romp through different historical perspective ! Love it

    Once is enough
This guy who doesn’t even share his name, believes that “social justice warriors” (he means as a pejorative term) are the most dangerous people because they are vulnerable to a dictator. Does he even realize we have a dictator in office right now who is trying to overturn the election?! Oh, the scary people who want systemic racism and racist policies to be over. . . Get a life!

    Five Stars
This is one of my all time favorite podcasts. Do yourself a favor and listen in, there is a specific episode out there for everyone and the research/ guests are second to none. Thank you for putting out such quality content, it means so much!

Solid History with a Fun Slant
Prof. CJ is well-researched and fun to listen to. His ideology may be grating if you aren’t anarcho-leaning (and a little preachy at times even if you are), but Dangerous History is overall a great podcast within the same stylistic vein as Hardcore History. Love it.

    Amazing history lessons
First, no one has covered the civil war better. Secondly, killing it, just killing the topic with good accuracy and a basic zero bias presentation of the material. Extremely informative. Please share and send money, so I can get more. Trust me, I deserve this in my life.

    Almost
Was enjoying 80% until he and his guest started giving his opinions on the president. And for an episode titled the Spanish flu, they barely talked about the flu and the history of it. Then they just switched over to politics. Was kind of looking forward to hearing more about that but I’m guess I’m gonna have to go elsewhere.

Educational and Interesting Podcast, Agree with CJ or Not
I've listened to several of the podcasts and found them very informative and stimulating. While I often don't agree with some of Prof CJ's points or conclusions, these podcasts always provide food for thought and are good for challenging ingrained biases. Episode #72 on the decision to drop A-bombs on Japan, for instance, didn't change my overall view that Truman made the right call considering the environment he was in, CJ did make some points that I hadn't fully considered (and a few somewhat less relevant ones). The one on Daylight Savings Time and how it is both unnecessary and counterproductive is a gem, and the one about the need to battle intellectual inbreeding - so common in today's tribal society - is a must-listen.

    Time
I started listening to one episode and the narrator just kept going on and on about thanking people. I lost patience and unsubscribed. The public doesn’t care about the narrator thanking people did the public doesn’t know about. It’s better to just get to the point.
  • ErnieJones
How times can he repeat himself?
50 minute show could be 10. And reveals the deep insight that Hollywood uses sex and violence to sell movies. Wow, there’s news. In love with his voice. Annoying

Episode 0151 about inner cities schools
It was somewhat interesting until the Ph.D-level “expert” guest started giving incorrect information on things that even non-educators know.

    A Poor Showing
A very disappointing podcast. I like the idea of military history through a libertarian lens, but there isn’t one episode that I can categorize as more thoughtful than moronic. I gave it about 4-5 episodes, but you completely lost me when you and BT began speculating about Pat Tillman conspiracy theories. Your comments about patrolling in Mosul left me shaking my head. “The HMMWV was designed for rear area logistics support” is a great example of a complete fallacy and not the kind of statement which belongs in intelligent conversation.

    More people need to listen
Big fan of this podcast. I’m more partial to your lectures than to your interviews. But I’m sure those also take a ton more time to produce. Wish my history professors cared half as much as CJ does. And 5 stars definitely for always taking the time to try to show both sides of an argument or idea. Start with the civil war series if you have any doubts about the integrity of this show.

    Uniquely Engaging Perspective on History
The critics here say that CJ is presenting history from a libertarian anarchist perspective, and that is partially true. He consistently observes that state actors — even the heroes of your your public school history curriculum and right wing patriots — act in self-interest despite high-sounding rhetoric. His narratives frequently align with the same perspective of leftist historians such as Beard, Kolko, and even Zinn on many topics. He also aligns with an environmentalist’s sensibilities on economic development. However, he has a public choice perspective that distinguishes him from the left. I don’t have to agree with every interpretation of the facts to find this podcast engaging. The ‘one star’ critics probably probably should look elsewhere for confirmation of their worldview. My only criticism is that CJ tells a bit more about CJ and the production of his podcast than I’m interested in. But it’s his podcast and I can skip the stuff I’m not interested in.

    Dangerous History
I fail to see how listening to an isolated, semi-informed podcaster bloviate is better than face to face interaction with a real world expert.

    Good job
If you love, and, or care about history this is the podcast for you. The topics are thought provoking and well researched. This podcast is refreshing because it’s not peddling an ideology it’s giving you the facts.

    Sure beats history class
Prof CJ gives a well-researched, informative take on anything he covers. Come with an open mind and you will soon find that you never got the complete picture in any official history class....CJ is very adept at uncovering the side of history that is often left unmentioned.

    Challenges Traditional Thinking!
Professor CJ challenges the status quo as he presents the history we are all so familiar with, in an open minded and thought provoking way. His passion for truth, liberty, and the pursuit of knowledge shines through in every episode, which makes listening to his show a real treat! This podcast has changed my traditional way of thinking on so many topics of history, and for that I am grateful. Thank you for such an awesome show, CJ! Keep up the excellent work!
