DON'T PAY A DIME,Brave BIG podcastWow ! You guys really make the list of my top podcasts ; you actually take the time, do the research and cover the topics of this lil but extraordinary green mountain state of Vermont . I drove and worked as a rural post office carrier very briefly for the manchester branch - and oh boy, what an odd job stint and the stories I told to friends and family of the chaos and insane work practices matched your BLS descriptions … i was and am hooked .. thx for the great work

JJ90909One of my favorite podcasts!I don’t even live in Vermont (although I do adore Vermont) and I learn so much from this podcast. I enjoy voting for what question should be addressed next. It’s exactly the sort of podcast that’s soothing but still interesting after a stressful day. Keep up the great work!

a boston dadPassionate reportingThank you to the journalists who create this show. They are warm in their interviews and embrace their eclectic topics. Sabine Poux is a gifted writer. A pleasure to listen to this podcast, with a shared love of our shared State.

GinoBoyeeHyper-local and Truly People-poweredIt’s a wicked fun way of hearing about Vermont. What I want to know is…Who votes on the questions that the question-askers ask?

Woody the WoodchuckWish these were more frequentAs a long term Vermonter, I really love Brave Little State. At the end of each podcast, I’m already looking forward to my next opportunity to learn something new about Vermont. I just wish these episodes came more frequently, although I realize that it takes time to research and produce each one and that shortcutting the process would undercut the quality. KUDOS to Vermont Public for creating a fascinating window into our Brave Little State!

Basketball53088A little taste of VermontWhat a treat this podcast is. It’s just what I need to get my Vermont fix after moving 8 years ago. Thanks for this beautiful work of art!

carlos de la costa vascaIntriguing for Vermont wannabes tooI live a few miles outside of Vermont. Each topic on this show captures my interest. The investigations are presented with plain spoken unpretentiousness. And a bit of wry amusement as befits the people of the Green Mountain State. Well done. I don’t plan to miss any of the episodes.

TB12 VTOne SidedShow has interesting topics but always covers them from the far left perspective and constantly looks for “victimhood” where none exists. Recent show on school funding was typical- let’s pick convenient to the narrative numbers then plug them in to create false victimhood and disparity. The notion that property taxes aren’t fair for someone bringing home 150K a year, or that a couple earning 130K a year are somehow victims and are seen as property tax “working poor” is the new Vermont left at it’s worst. The notion that the 1% should fund the 2% is laugh out loud tone deafness!

Winterfuzz55EatonsI found this episode fluffy. Too much lightheartedness topped off with it was a blessing? Did not like at all.

WeyeswomanANOTHER WINNERThank you for this show. It was informative and delicately handled. I enjoyed learning about why the Amish find Vermont to their liking and Elodie’s spiritual journey.

BlahovecPartyOf3Accidental came across this gem!!My husband and I were on our way back from our second trip to VT (from Pittsburgh, PA) so we had about a 10.5 hour drive. We have been considering moving to VT since we step foot in Stowe in 2020! On a whim, when the podcast we were listing to finished, I told him i’d find another. Joking typing “what do I need to know about moving to VT” and wouldn’t you know it, that exact title came up. This episode was great! Full of great tid-bits but I love the openness of the answers as well! We just posted on their IG page our own question!! Hope to hear a new one soon!!

Ashley L ArnoldLove this seriesSuch both a fun and relevant approach to a podcast

Sean and AllisonPodcast-to-tableThis show answers all the questions I [a Vermonter] didn't even know I had. The journalism is superb, and the personalities interviewed are real salt of the earth. If you could shop for podcasts at a Farmer's Market, this is what you'd find. The heirloom tomato of northwoods journalism.

TonyJT001Great Little PodcastI was born, raised and live in Vermont. I have listen to most of the podcasts and find them extremely educational and interesting. There is much information about the State that I never knew. Good work.

K80fabA reminder of my rootsI grew up visiting Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, where my mother was raised, and I actually lived just south of my grandparent’s old farm for four years, before moving to the midwest. This podcast is a regular reminder of all the wonders and quirks of Vermont. Ohio could be Indiana could be Illinois. Louisiana could be Alabama. Those places aren’t that different from one another. But Vermont is like no other place. This podcast reflects that. As a bonus, every once in a while, you’ll hear a Vermonter with that brilliant North Country drawl. Brings me right back to Grammy’s summer kitchen!
-
Emily MGreat fun in depth showI caught part of an episode on VPR recently, and am now working my way through old episodes. I’ve lived in Vermont most of my life, and am thoroughly enjoying learning more about my great little state! The interviews and reporting are top notch.
-
matt martinoNorth country👍🏻 I love your show. I live in upstate New York right across lake Champlain out by the border so our life is a lot like the Vermont lifestyle. You do such great in depth reporting/investigating on what it is too live in the north country thank you.
-
B'janeNortheast Kingdom 3/09 EpisodeWhy does everyone, including Governor Dean, sound drunk? I didn't have the patience to keep listening, I'm afraid. I don't suppose you'd be willing to fix it?

A VarnonCurious & DelightfulThis pod goes off the beaten path to bring you wonderful Vermont stories.

jeffmorrison49Not just for VermontersI’m a long time Vermont lover, summer camp attendee/employee etc. There’s something about this podcast that captures the particular undefinable quality about Vermont that makes it so special in my experience. It’s answered some of my and my family’s questions (yeah, why *does* VT feel and look different than the states around it?) and questions that I never thought to ask but now seem obvious in retrospect. Love it. Keep it up!
-
acercampestreWell done!!Just discover Brave Little State and am catching up with old episodes. One more interesting than the last. Keep it up.

Primary ConsumerMy only question is how this podcast is so good!Great podcast. Even the mundane-sounding questions produce nothing but fascinating listening material. Keep up the great work!

Will DahlbergA delight for the ears and the mind.I am delighted that VPR invested the resources into this project. It has paid off. It is well researched, thoughtful in the production, and brings all the best parts of public radio to an innovative concept. As an ex-pat Vermonter, it asks many questions I've always wondered about. It also gives me a slice of the "sound" of home. This should serve as a model for other NPR member stations and how they can work with their own listeners and community. Thank you, VPR!
-

B_KinneyPeople-powered reporting doesn't disappointThis is a great concept for a podcast! People ask questions and Alex Keefe and Angela Evancie go looking for the answers. It's informative and fun. Loved the first two episodes and can't wait for more!
