OldSoul1234Finally The best basketball podcast is back!Been a break during the bubble but Coach Nick is finally back to talks X’s and O’s for playoff basketball. Favorite basketball podcast to listen to because it’s more pure basketball and game focused than the others. Looking forward to more content. Thanks Coach!

authentechaNo mention of the BucksI was looking to possibly listen to some analysis of all the teams in the playoffs, (2019), not one mention of the Bucks winning the series against the Pistons and the Celtics, wow not to even mention the Bucks once? I don’t know, but gonna unsubscribe and will not recommend

CHL - a premium subscriberStands out from the crowdWe all know how many NBA pods are out there and Bball Breakdown initially fell into tier of "really good but not must listen" But now that Jared Weiss has joined the show as a co-host it's moved into the top tier of "Must Listen" NBA pods

Germy jbInformation overload!I love the point of views and statistics to back them. The original breakdowns are legendary and are only necessary when something astonishing happens. I really appreciate the analysis.
-
cavsliferGreat podThey offer a more in-depth perspective to the game of basketball than your usual sports shows you see on ESPN or Fox. You will enjoy the breakdown of the great game that is basketball

CarpediemclarkeLoyal FanCoach Nick thank you for your dedication. I can’t get enough of your kinks interesting insight. My favs are the longer discussions with Coach Dave and Snottie. Maybe you can add a former player (any player with atleast 3-4 years in the league) to the 3 man weave with you and coach Dave and Snottie?
-
thizzlamg23Love itGood perspective on coaching in the nba

SoujierIt’s ok to punch nazi’s??“I think it is ok to punch nazis. If you do, come to me and I’ll protect you.” Are you serious, Nick?? And WHO, exactly, gets to decide who the Nazi’s are?? Any crazy person with a loud voice? That’s just pathetic. Go ahead, pander to the majority of young, adolescent psychos so you can get those subscriptions from youth America. I absolutely loved this podcast until that comment. Done with you.
-
Isaiah ParsonsA Beautiful MindCoach Nick has an incredible mind. He breaks down the game better than anyone else on the internet. I am absolutely shocked that a team hasn't reached out to overpay him in order to make only their franchise better.
-
AlldayrtSolid podcastI appreciate the in depth bball knowledge and coach Nick is entertaining. His main guest is sometimes iffy. Worst player today would dominate older eras?!? Come on. Also there rumor mill scenarios are just random guesses, if your looking for hardcore reporting there are other podcasts out there.

-
GhrjdjbejakcjhlwkxjifpajfDon't botherConsidering that there are so many good NBA podcasts out there, you shouldn't waste your time with this one. Coach Nick really isn't that knowledgeable and it makes me cringe when he asks his guests at the end "are you in?" and forces them to respond. It's such a lame catch phrase and you can tell how painful it is for some guests.
-
Welsey1320Great podcastLove coach nick and his knowledge of the game. Cool to have another platform to learn from him. Check out his YouTube channel if you like this podcast, BBALLBREAKDOWN

Embiid for prezBiasedSo really this comes down to one thing, internal biases coach has. I have although learned some x and o's things from a number of coach nicks mediums (YouTube, Twitter, etc.) My big gripe with coach is he doesn't seem to have a strong pulse on the NBA. He overvalues fundamentally sound players over flashy more athletic players. For example he's quick to discount someone like Russell Westbrook for his play but commend someone like Harrison Barnes for his. He's a strong proponent of the triangle offense, even in NYK (where it has shown little evidence to supports its merits). He gets caught up on things like, players now technically "carry" the basketball. He overvalues Steph Curry's defensive ability and impact (again fundamentally sound player). His takes can seem uniformed and slightly aged. And more than anything from the few interactions I have or seen others have with him through Twitter, he can come off somewhat ignorant to dissenting opinions (maybe this is humor). I'd say give this a listen if you're actively looking to better understand basketball plays and tactics but realize they're are inherent biases that coach has towards specific play styles and players.
-
spenbowSubpar analysis and only focused on big teamsVery subpar analysis of the game and when reviewing teams, focus on the biggest teams and bypass a large part of the league. Opinions on players are very unknowledgeable. You can find a lot of other podcasts much better and that can fill your need for NBA breakdown. Hard pass.
-
Bergerdude22In depth BBall analysisCoach Nick is great

-
REDROVER86Coach is dat dudeAfter ryen rusillo dropped from the daily NBA pod, there's been a huge gap in NBA content.... I tried the starters, Zach Lowe, sekou smith and even espns poor attempts at a replacement...none of em were that good Bball breakdown has replaced that role, think advanced level NBA analysis broken down with solid guests
-
santeria85Great and InformativeI've been a fan of Coach Nick's BBall Breakdown on youtube. And it works in podcast form! Coach Nick has terrific analysis and isn't afraid to be bold.

ffltesolid B+ but approaching A- territoryseveral pods are on this feed, just reviewing the main one w coach nick here. overall solid content: good hoops talk, good guests, good topics (incl. non-bball ones), mostly good analysis, etc. politics stuff was actually cool and surprisingly well-done, too. show is a solid B+ but rapidly approaching A- territory (where A is reserved for my top one or two NBA pods). would give roughly 4.42/5 stars if possible. coach nick seems to bust his behind on this + does his homework (even if he does periodically advance inexplicably negative opinions of a few extremely productive and entertaining players). mostly good insights, esp. on details about sets/strategy/etc. only content critique is that sometimes (at least it feels to me like) nick's opinion of players' quality seems to be influenced by his opinion of them as people. maybe i'm off here, but just something to think about. main paradox is the man behind the operation, coach nick. you will like him if you listen for a while. you might not at first. you might find him abrasive or a bit of a bloviator at first. he certainly can be both at times (as can many good pod hosts/sports ppl). but there is something genuine about him that will make you like him. you will periodically re-evaluate to make sure that you like him. you will almost certainly still like him and keep liking him (even when he advances bball opinions that you disagree with). kinda weird but i must say he is good at what he does and he seems like an interesting guy. also props to nick for talking on the last ep about a problem involving racialized language from his coaching days -- seems like he was willing to listen, learned a legit lesson, + is a better man for it. finally, nick if you are still reading this: you should have an entire ep where you invite nba writers on to debate the merits of westbrook's game (who btw you need to RESPECT!). thx + keep up the good work!
-
kkn001YepVery good. Accessible.
-
Mom 95Audio QualityLove the content but the audio quality is pretty lackluster at times. The instant offense pod breaking down each team is awesome but the host's audio is choppy and it's very off putting. Constructive criticism though, I hope the site and app and everything else bballbreakdown only gets bigger and bigger.

Coachjunker22Super Hoopers ReviewSuper Hoopers may be the greatest basketball podcast available. It provides the perfect combination of humor and insight. Matt on Jon are the podcast duo equivalent of Stockton and Honacek on NBA Jam (Super Nintendo Version). Sure you have to put the Mailman on the Bench (Coach Nick), but it is totally worth. Side note, best of luck on their pursuit of becoming partial owners of any "profession team". If you are in need of further financial backing, I am in! Footnote: I have not been paid nor received any compensation for this review from either Jon or Matt of Super Hoopers and wrote this on my own account. I only request that I am mentioned in the "Shoutout" segment of a show. Thanks Super Hoopers, Austin J.
