Below is my original review. Now I’m calling for a refresh of the podcast to follow this next phase in the saga of #45. Josh and Ken take informing us very seriously, this is an important topic, but they do so with a fair amount of humor. One of my favorite podcasts. My second behind LRC.

This was one of the best podcast out there. Fact-based, funny, entertaining. Please help me! Is Avenatti a good lawyer?

YES. And even if he wasn’t, I’d listen to Josh’s great questions and Ken’s dry wit all day, everyday, as long as it didn’t implicate me in RICO. This has been my favorite podcast for a couple of years. I haven’t missed an episode! Thank You Josh and Ken!

This is one of my favorite podcasts to get knowledge and a belly laugh in the same show. Love the little click of coins in the swear jar whenever a cuss word pops out. You can tell they are having fun and they aren’t even doing the RICO!

And this is my favorite favorite podcast. Makes my wish I was a lawyer…is 48 too late? Hilarious always.

… nothing rich white men do in the US is illegal. Basically youll hear Ken explain why every state crime committed in the US is not actually crime. Everything is legal or rather, not illegal, except if it involves money and even then you can pay or hire yr way out of it or drag itnout for years in court. If you think for 10 seconds that actual state treason, conspiracy, and fraud are punishable then go back to watching your 1960s Captain America cartoons because the Constitution, Amendments, BoR and the law by & for White Guys around it is a joke. Also, who gives a crap about Michael Avenatti - tired of hearing about this nobody & as of August 2021, I simply cannot listen to one more thing about him or cast any longer. Oh and Its RICO (ie - its never, ever RICO).

I love the show, always interesting. The most recent episode on the Capitol Rioters had Ryan J. Reilly on as the cohost. Good reporting, I appreciated his insight to a point. Ryan suggested we should not be outraged when some rioters are charged with misdemeanors instead of felonies if they only entered the capitol carrying a sign. He is wrong. They should all be charged with felonies if that statute is available. These are not “protesters” in the classic sense. Non-violent protesters who refuse to disburse? Charge them with misdemeanors. People who climb through destruction caused by others in a sacred institution? They get felonies. Protesting something you don’t like? Pro-life, Pro-choice, against nuclear weapons, those protesters get misdemeanors when they refuse to disburse, impede others or trespass. Walk over downed security barriers, through broken doors, past broken windows, injured Capitol Police to roam the Capitol with signs promoting an insurrection? You get a felony. Do not normalize this behavior. Do they have to do jail time? Maybe not, be proportional in the sentencing, but they are charged with and should get a felony conviction.

Josh is kinda smarmy, but Ken is the greatest.

Smart, informative, funny and with occasional drift into fairness and nonpartisanship. The Barrow-White team are doing a great job to adjusting to life after Trump and the legal analysis is unfailingly fascinating. I love the regular segments with listeners’ questions, demonstrating how clueless people are about civics, the Constitution and law in general. Or they know too much and their questions go on for five minutes.

I listen to a handful, including Left, Right & Center. I think this must be my favorite podcast because my loyalty is not to any President, but to this podcast.

If I ever get in any legal trouble I’m calling Ken. He’s the guy!!

Does not understand America is more than just the law. Willing to defend , doj defending trump no matter what. Unfair distribution of law doesn’t seem to impact this white man. Boring!

More than all the other news and legal podcasts I subscribe to, this is my favorite. Ken White is articulate and funny. Thanks guys.

This is the only podcast that I listen to every episode. Solid analysis and good senses of humor. Great stuff!

I didn’t find this podcast until after Jan 6. I look forward to hearing it every week now. It has the proper measure of information and snark to be thoroughly entertaining!

Although it is too short, and only comes out once a week. I like Ken White, because he always seems measured in his responses. I also trust his intelligence. Josh is great at asking the important questions. He understands more about law than most lawyers.

WHY ON EARTH ARE THE HOSTS REFERRING TO TRUMP AS “the President”??? Get it straight you idiots.

Just the Intro illustrates the point of views completely. Why not also play audio of Biden’s incoherency? I can laugh at trump sounding like a moron, easily. But it doesn’t fit the narrative to laugh at Biden and his family being criminals. I liked josh but this show and his other show are a just a very weak attempt at bipartisan criticism. I just feel for bad for him. I wish him the best in life.

The one critique I have of this show is that the misfortunes of others should never be seen as a cause of celebration. Or a source of pleasure. Laughing at our own mistakes can lengthen our own life. Laughing at someone else's can shorten it. — Cullen Hightower I see the incarceration of any individual. As another life wasted. Prison does little to improve the situation. Either for the individual or for society in general. And many times it makes it much worse. So let’s stop laughing when we see other people in legal trouble. We generally have no idea what led there. As a prosecutor I saw this often. People very quick to judge. Based on slim to no evidence as to a defendant’s personal history and why they would find themselves in their current situation.

This is a nice splash of cold water of reality to calm the Twitter driven legal analysis.

Ken White is the greatest legal mind of our generation. Move over, Clarence Darrow.

One of the reasons I give to public radio. I learn something every episode and yet their biting wit make it a pleasure. Love it!

I have 100% faith in the integrity of the Supreme Court but the knot on my stomach grew to football size with the increasing advent of that Texas suit. You calmed me right down. Don’t go away! We need you to interpret everything now more than ever. First: the proposed sedition suit. How feasible is it?

Kathy Griffin is being sued for exactly what you described. I would expect you to know that. Can you kindly explain the difference between why Kathy Griffen is being sued and your view of Kreb’s lawsuit being “performative”? If calling for someone’s execution for treason which never occurred and spreading lies on TV to an already crazed and ginned up trumptards doesn’t warrant a lawsuit against this person. What does? I’m asking because I truly don’t know and would love to understand the laws better. I understand the first amendment rights and how important they are, but when/what is crossing that line? Thanks!

I eagerly wait for the podcast to drop each week. Ken White could make reading a phone book interesting. The way Ken White and Josh Barro have of phrasing the topics makes them understandable and even, at times, funny. This is my favorite podcast. Thank you so much for continuing with it. One question please: is Michael Avenatti a good lawyer :).

Originally I thought this show would be investigative , ground breaking, informative and revealing. Turns out the joke is on me. No one really cares about outcomes; meanwhile, we pay DJT and Bill Bar to jerk the American public around. And the whole experience is FUNNY! To someone.

I return to this pod frequently and it is informative and fascinating.

If you have to listen to just one podcast about law and politics this is it. It comes only once a week and in short duration but is really poignant in these enduring times.

It is so good to hear different sides of an issue. Well done. Sometimes I don’t hear Trump’s reasoning for what he does, but that may be difficult for a logical person to discern at times.

A good way to hear non-inflammatory analysis of legal happenings around 45. It’s good to hear from cool headed Josh and knowledgeable Ken. There are good questions and solid answers, based on what the laws and legal processes are, without hyperbole, lies or vilification.

There’s about a billion podcasts out there about politics and the current administration. This is my very favorite show because of its charm and wit, and it’s grounding in the realities of law and the court. I’m my opinion no one cuts it more straight in such an entertaining way. I relish my Wednesday’s when I get a new episode, and I hope this show continues in some form long into the future.

Here we have legal experts making mealy-mouthed excuses for the bad faith behavior and brazen norm breaking that forms the legal framework for the real danger facing the country.

I listen to this from time to time because I really like Josh Barro. I can only do a couple of episodes before I need a break as this show is constantly chasing every Trump rumor and innuendo with a smug certitude that there is something out there. I guess that sells in liberal land but it’s hard to hear from a center, Trump-skeptical perspective. Where’s the beef fellas? I would really be interested in Andy McCarthy being a guest at some point. I doubt that would ever happen but Andy could provide some of the context that Ken never provides. I also listen to Left Right and Center. It’s tough to find balanced discussion. This isn’t it but I appreciate the effort...?

For real y’all. He’s a jurist’s jurist. I each episode running into the other room to tell my partner about something intriguing I’ve just heard on ATPL. The pod drops on wednesdays along with my other favorite, rational security- making Wednesday’s my fav day for podcasts... yep. Sigh.

You guys are wonderful! I really appreciate your insight and analysis. Spot on! I really think that you should consider extending the show by an additional 15-30 minutes like you did with Right, Left and Center. I don’t think you’d have any problem filling the time with useful info, plus you might fill up that swear jar a little more each episode. Keep up the good work!
