1. MUST bring up Marchan and send down/DFA Stubbs. Marchan must then play every third game, at minimum. 2. Start Sosa, alternating between 2nd (Stott) and short (Turner). The best would be if Sosa could play in the outfield as well. Castellanos is so inconsistent, he cannot be relied upon in the postseason! Even at his ‘best’ he will swing at the first pitch even after the pitcher just walked two guys on four pitches each! He can NOT do anything with RISP, especially with two outs! Look at Casty’s OPS+, WAR, other stats—he is objectively not even close to good. If you factor in salary, then it’s even worse. Nick’s hits/$, etc are so much worse than anyone else it’s not even a conversation! 3. Play Wilson, Clemens and Stevenson to see which one(s) should be on the postseason roster based on ability to hit major league pitching. Can any others be brought up, like Kroon, Crawford, Miller?

Wowwwww that 3-4pm with Angelo and ESP might have been the worst hour of WIP in the last 25 years. That was some brutal stuff.

The morning team has been on me and my dads morning routine for years as we go to work. The morning team is just great and i can’t imagine it without Angelo. My dad told me that he has listened to it for 20 years and it just won’t be the same without the normal team. Good luck to the new guy and I wish you the best on your retirement Angelo. Go Birds end Angelo’s career with a Super Bowl win!

Please separate out the calls from Eagles Shirley as a separate podcast! Her calls are the best and I hate missing them

To be clear, this is a review of Angelo Cataldi from 1993, and much overdue. I drove 47,000 business miles in 1993 and listened to this idiot every day while the Phillies chased a World Championship. When Joe Carter hit a walk-off home run to win the World Series, I vowed to never listen to that Jerk again, and I never did. How this guy lasted so long I’ll never know. His promotion of “Wing Bowl” was an embarrassment, and exploitation of women over the years is a disgrace. Good riddance!

Fairly frequently, as much as once a week, podcasts don’t get posted for that day. Many times, it’s when the crew is on a remote, such as Fridays at the Borgata, but not always. It’s inconsistent and frustrating. For instance, as of 2pm, today’s show is not posted, even though it’s the last broadcast before the Eagles’ first game of the season. Today would be a must-listen for someone who likes the show and the Eagles, but alas, there is no podcast.

If Jon takes over permanently - I won’t be tuning in WIP until the 10 o’clock hour. Love the rest of the crew

The show is consistent and fun to listen to and it’s Angelo’s last year. But there is no consistency on when the show will be available as a podcast. Some days it’s available a little after each hour of the show. Some days it’s not available until way later in the day. Usually it’s somewhere in between. WIP says to listen to the podcast version of the morning show, but until it’s published consistently I’ll give it 3 stars.

Just in case I haven’t made it clear in my reviews how I feel about the BEST morning show in the history of sports talk radio, I grew up listening to Angelo Cataldi and I’m going to be devastated in January when I turn my radio on and don’t hear him anymore. It will be a situation where I have to grieve the loss of something/someone I’ve had in my life for decades. So this review has nothing to do with him or the rest of the regulars on the show. Having said that… For the love of all thats holy, please don’t replace Angelo with Jon Johnson. His singsong, scripted, pitchy, nauseatingly cliched delivery makes me want to jump off a skyscraper.I don’t think anyone who makes decisions at WIP would be imbecilic enough to listen to the way he is on the radio and chooses to appoint him as Angelo’s successor.But just in case it’s up for debate and discussion in the board room, if you put this guy in that role, Kincade and the guys at the other station would absolutely obliterate Jon and the rest of the morning team. He’s horrendous. Woke up to find out Jon Johnson is filling in for Angelo today. I can’t even begin to describe how disappointing it is to hear him on the radio. For the love of God please do not hire this guy. He is the worst sports talk host I’ve ever heard in any market in any genre in any sport Lifetime Philly fan. I cant even begin to tell you how satisfying it is as a Philly native(now living on the West Coast) to listen to Angelo, Rhea, Al, and Jonesy in the morning. Greatest sports talk radio show of all time. But something troubles me severely... I understand Angelo is approaching the end of his run on WIP. But for the love of God PLEASE do not replace Angelo with Jon Johnson I can’t even begin to express just how disappointing it is when I wake up in the morning and hear him filling in for Angelo. I’m sorry for coming across rather mean, but he’s awful. Absolutely terrible. The way he “ummms” and “ahhhs” his way through every bloody segment makes him impossible for me to listen to. He’s one of the most pathetically and annoyingly contrived radio personalities I’ve ever seen in any genre, and in any market. So please don’t allow him to take the spot. PLEASE. Update2/22/2022- Jon Johnson filled in for Angelo today. I never thought he could get any worse. But my god was I wrong. Words cannot accurately reflect just how terrible of a sports talk radio host he is. I used to feel bad to say that. But not anymore now that Angelo is retiring. The only thing keeping my rating at five stars was the fact that I absolutely adore and love Angelo for the past three decades. But if this guy is a consistent member of the morning team, the rating would be zero stars and I will officially be switching to 97.5 where they have a host(Kincade) who doesn’t make me want to eat a bullet every time I hear him talk. Everything about Johnson is so nauseatingly contrived. So I will reiterate… Please for the love of God do not make him the host of this show in January

In the last couple of months, each day’s show is not posted in a timely manner or sometimes not at all. And Angelo’s opening is no longer regularly posted. As a West Coast Philly sports fan, I need my daily fix. Content is usually 4 or 5 star worthy, but have to be able to find it. Please address ASAP.

I constantly have to increase the volume on these podcasts compared to others. Rhea and Al’s microphones are fine but Angelo’s and guest microphones are constantly lower

On Today’s show Angelo said Lombardi was on last Friday, but I don’t see a podcast for his session. What gives? He’s the best!

Cataldi and the morning team are hilarious. Angelo has always been a perfect mirror for the typical Philadelphia sports fan. But, this “best of” podcast cuts out Angelo’s greatest strength: interacting with callers! The “best of” clips are good, but let’s get a full episode posted after the show ends each morning. Don’t be a weasel!

Does anyone know less about sports than Angelo? The answer is no. However, he is a hall of fame scream talker and the number one sports talk host for guys that live in their mothers basement.

I used to listen every morning but with my new work schedule I can only listen to Angelo once in a while. Other radio shows throughout the nation and even other WIP shows, like one of my personal favorite, Glen and Ray on the weekends. Have a full episode podcast. Even if you have to cut some callers... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, have a full episode podcast. I love the morning team and want to be able to share in the good times they have. five stars for them but let’s get that full episode podcast. I’m looking at you Spike!!!

Good, but what’s wrong with you WIP people. Why can’t you get us podcast users sound on some clips? That’s very disconcerting.

Great way to stay in touch with Philadelphia sports on the best sports show. However, frequently when clips are played they are dropped from on the podcast with no explanation while other times they are there.

Angelo continues to entertain and this podcast is great for catching up on all the latest in Philly sports. Great interviews and funny moments. (You guys need to fix the fact that you can't hear played-back sound bites in the podcasts, though). I don't get to listen live in the morning anymore but stay connected via this podcast. 5 stars.

Episodes daily with great interviews and guests. Producers/ Interns: You need to remember to use the feed when Angelo plays an audio clip. It used To be forgotten occasionally, now it’s forgotten more than half the time. With that I would give it five stars

I love listening to the show in the morning and I would download the podcast if I missed it but I'm not downlaoding 10 files just to catch up on 1 show. Please condense the shows into a single file. Until then I'll listen on the radio when I can but will never download a podcast.

BEST SPORTS SHOW IN PHILLY. Angelo understands the fans, Al is Al, Rhea provides a local perspective, and Jonesy gives great insight from an athletes' pov. Lots of great guests on every day to break down all the pressing topics in Philly sports and also Joe Conklin audio bits to make it funny. Makes my mornings much better. They created wing bowl need I say more?

Entertaining podcast. Doses of sports intellect, but more focused on entertaining the listeners, rather than providing information related to sports. Just my critical analysis, still, a great Philadelphia sports podcast and I will continue to download having moved out of the area. You can also check out 610 on iTunes radio. One other complaint is that it doesn't scrobble right to LastFM ...

Cataldi is the best sports radio guy in the country. PERIOD.
