Liz is funny. Ben is condescending.
In the end of year 2018 episode Liz was funny and knowledgeable, while Ben knew his stuff but was very condescending to Liz. He could not be corrected even when he misspoke. He disagreed with her even when he agreed with her! It was annoying to listen to. Liz is witty with a great personality and has an ease of discussing tv, acting, and production without being pretentious! I’d listen to her on her own or with a guest. Not sure I’ll be able to handle many more episodes with Ben unless he changes his attitude and approach. Hopefully this will help him to reflect and make a course correction.

    Hugely recommended
This is such a great tv podcast. Every week when there’s a new episode, it’s the first thing I listen to. They always have a theme and a nice mixture between “background” stuff and tv news. Liz and Ben have a great chemistry, like listening to two really good friends.

My favorite podcast hosted by fellow lovers of The Leftovers
I watch way too much TV for my own good and have a spreadsheet that I use just to keep up. Listening to your podcast each week is so exciting as I hear you talk about all the shows I’ve seen recently, especially when you find any reason to bring up The Leftovers! I use any excuse I can to spread the gospel of Ann Dowd, so thank you for your service to the television world.

    Almost there
This feels like the making of a podcast I've been looking for for so long. Each episode is structured around a relatively specific topic, and the hosts are clearly well versed in television. I have one suggestion-- bring in more guests, please. I feel that three is the sweet spot for podcasts, and sometimes they're a little awkward during the episodes.

    Solid Critiques and Entertaining Flow
One of the better TV podcasts to listen to, despite the occasional Bostonian accent and Leftovers overkill convos. I kid. Love the podcast and respect the tv landscape critiques. Hope to send over that cake one day.

    Podcast for the thinking viewer
Stories change our lives and these two remind us why. And they are charming and witty and why are you reading this review and not listening? Plus, they understand that The Leftovers is so good it makes you weep.

    My favorite television podcast!
Love Ben and Liz together on this podcast! Wish it was longer though..30 min a week if pretty short for television podcasts but I love the topics they cover and their recommendations!

Sound issues take away from great content
This podcast should be right up my alley and Ben and Liz are super knowledgeable. But I can't hang with the poor sound quality! They either need to tape together in person or figure out their skype/ISDN issues so they both are at the same volume. I'm pretty sure one ep was just Ben on speakerphone and Liz just set up a recorder in the room as ambulances drove past the office. Content is so great that they're doing it a disservice with the poor recording.

    Excellent podcast
I’ve been a subscriber since week 1 when Ben & Liz covered True Detective, and have been listening weekly since. The only problem is I don’t understand Ben’s fascination with The Leftovers.

    Not quite there yet...
I respect the written work of Liz and Ben, TV journalists at Indiewire, but I don't think they quite have the podcast thing down yet. Aside from variable audio quality (a problem that also plagues Indiewire's much better movie podcast), they both strike me as stiff co-discussants and their attempts at humor and snark tend to fall flat. I wish they would take a more straightforward approach to their conversations. There are at least a fewl other podcasts by critic pairs that manage better to convey what it is they like about TV and why. After almost 6 months of listening to this one, I don't have much of a sense of what motivates Liz or Ben to do this, aside from it being a job. So I'll stick to reading Indiewire's TV coverage and give the podcast a rest for now. They could definitely improve.

This is a great podcast, if you like TV and podcasts. Liz and Ben are excellent reviewers, and give a clear idea of what is likeable (and not) in current television.
