    not so primitive at all!
So, you've watched all of Star Trek multiple times. You quote Picard when faced with a dilemma. You've listened to all the episode review/analysis podcasts out there, and you still want the conversation about Trek to continue at a deeper level. This gem of a podcast is the thing for you! Profound discussions brining in history, literature, folklore, and Star Trek across the series - Primitive Culture has been extremely enjoyable, thought-provoking, and educational! The hosts are very knowledgeable and take their podcast seriously. Really a great podcast.

    Thought-provoking, inspiring, exciting!
This podcast is consistently brilliant and, as the name suggests, they discuss film and literature and the interplay with various Star Trek episodes and Star Trek themes. Duncan, Clara, and Tony shed insightful and often humorous light on the philosophy and the history of Star Trek in its greater cultural context. If you want to delve into the deeper meaning of Star Trek, this is the podcast for you. It’s called Primitive Culture because Our Culture would be a dumb name for a podcast -but it’s really about our primitive culture. Dan S. Tennessee

    Great topics, well-versed hosts...
... but the live recordings are largely un-listenable. The audio quality at the conventions and cinema events is distractingly poor. Wish the hosts would stick to the studio!

    Combines My Favorite Things
My great passions are Star Trek, history, and culture and this podcast combines them all! The discussion here is so engaging that an hour flies by very quickly as the hosts discuss a new history and culture angle every episode through the lens of Star Trek. Highly recommended!

    They've done it again!
Great Scott! They’ve done it again! I never knew I needed a Star Trek and History podcast, but I already know I can’t live without it. Host Tony Black, from the amazing passion project The X-CAST is joined by historian Duncan Barrett, where they talk about Star Trek and how it relates to history and visa-versa. Only a handful of episodes in, I see this podcast boldly going where no other has gone before. The hosts and producers are podcast veterans, so there are no growing pains here; it’s professionally edited and entertaining right from the word, engage! What I can clearly see right away is the factual information is well researched beforehand; the discussions well-informed. As a bonus, I love the podcast’s Guardian cover art. If you’re unfamiliar with all the Trek.fm content, be sure to sample some other shows as they cover every aspect of Star Trek (and pop culture) fandom. Thanks for taking us back in time!

    History Class and Trek
This is the long overdue podcast that we need on Trek.fm. Love the first episode. Reminds me of the history grad classes I took at Kansas State University. Very knowledgeable hosts and the sky is the limit for topics on this podcast. This will never get old!
