EchoPalpatationsPodcast for People Wearing Tinfoil HatsThis podcast is a slap in the face to the legacy of Nirvana. Cobain would be disgusted.

pqskNot the greatest podcastThere were some funny things, but a lot of wrong facts. Some are later proven to be wrong and others never. There’s 1 author that comes in and he gave them free copies of his book and they never read it and just told the guy they would eventually maybe read it one day. The guy seemed a little annoyed because he explained to them that they were supposed to read it so they could discuss it. They just rambled randomly about what they wanted and ask for his input. I thought that was kind of weird. I mean it is kind of punk, but then they complain and moan about Nirvana doing this. So the moral of the story is that it’s okay to do it if you’re not famous, but if you are famous you can’t do it and these guys can complain about it like they are everyones annoying dad. Lol Some parts of the podcast are annoying because I feel like a teenager listening to my parents rant and lecture over things that were done by young kids who are just being kids. I will admit that I learned a few things that were right and never knew. Of course I double checked these things and found them to be true because a lot of things were wrong. One of the guys sounds like Jack Black. I think that's what makes some of this podcast funny. The jokes become stale in the later episodes. I mean I’m all about making jokes, but one thing I will comment is that not everyone is in the same state of mind as us. the fact that suicide is the running gag and that someone suicidal may be listening to this is just not cool. At the very least the start and end should do it like the pros do…say a disclaimer and explain ways that people can talk if there are suicide thoughts. Come on guys. This is basic stuff that you guys complain so much about the stupid things that Nirvana did and yet you’re very hypocritical by doing this. There’s so much information about people’s state of minds at this point in time that it’s a no-brainer. Assuming that your audience will know this is just very immature.

nirvananirvananirvanaNeeds a fact checkerSo much of this is inaccurate. It’s pretty dangerous to be sharing bio data points that are just wrong. It’s ok to say, “I don’t know.” Still appreciate revisiting the time period, just wish the “facts” were verified.

Michael KurtzBeyond awful - would give 0 stars if I couldRarely write reviews but had to get this off my chest. Had a long drive today, pulled up the Montage of Heck episode out of curiosity. Could not believe what I was hearing. These guys spent close to an hour mocking, impersonating, and making fun of KC for his depression and suicide, both of which are serious issues that nobody should joke about, least of all a bunch of people who consider themselves fans of his music. Kurt wasn’t and isn’t above criticism or analysis, but the hosts discussed him in a way that was disrespectful and childish. They also repeatedly implied that they believed the rumors that Courtney killed her husband. No serious investigation of those allegations has ever come to this conclusion and making light of it is in really poor taste. 10 minutes on google would show you strong evidence that she didn’t have him killed, so these guys really didn’t do their research. Incredibly lazy on their part. Plus, let’s remember that we’re talking about actual human beings here. What would Frances Bean think if she had the misfortune to hear this episode? She’d be mortified, I think. These guys are making cruel jokes, many of them inside jokes that a listener wouldn’t understand, for most of this episode. There is precious little discussion of the Brett Morgen documentary. By the end, I was embarrassed to even listen to this podcast. And I was alone in my car! A group of 15 year-olds could have done a better job than these three “men.” I feel stupid for having listened to it - what a waste of time. Shame on these three for treating suicide and clinical depression as a laughing matter. If you’re looking for a thoughtful discussion of Nirvana and their legacy, look elsewhere.

If-then-elseThese guys are my best friends!I love this podcast. They have great energy and are very insightful. I could listen them talk all day. I go so far to say they should make a grunge pod along with this one.

bbblahhh77NoOne guy talking about Nirvana with his unbearable friend.

FBarnardHeart Shaped PODVery Funny, great information, after listening to this I have listened to In Utero a bunch. Have not done that since it came out. Where is 3 dollar POD?
-
21ArcPainfully unfunnyI listened with a straight face the whole time. Jokes were predictable and lazy. Best part was when some of the info was provided.

StignessBad Jokes & Iffy FactsThe first few episodes when it’s just the two hosts it’s pretty good. Once Andy joins it’s all bad jokes and very little info. The episode I just listened to didn’t actually get to the Nirvana discussion until 20 MINUTES into the episode. Also, it doesn’t seem like they’re doing that much research and fact checking. When they talk about the ‘92 VMAs, they get the timeline and quotes all screwed up and don’t mention some things at all. Basically, if you want to hear guys laugh annoyingly, make a lot of jokes about Kurt’s suicide, and barely any Nirvana facts or discussion, this podcast is for you!!

B-Ry ballinInteresting info but pretty hard to listen toEarly on when it’s just Adam and Travis it’s good. Once Andy comes in they all just keep trying to make jokes non stop and it completely ruins it. They aren’t funny and you only get about 30 seconds of Nirvana info at a time before they go on another 7 minute stretch of attempting to make jokes.

ms altaRevisiting My YouthSo happy I found this podcast! I grew up listening to Nirvana... Kurt Cobain was the first man I ever loved, and like many others, he was the one who inspired me to pick up a guitar when I was just a kid. Enjoying the humor and insight during my long LA commute!
-
TheGuyNoOneKnowsThis pod has changed everythingBefore this pod, I had very little knowledge of Kurt Cob (short for Cobain, saves me time when I talk).

ShadyLady1989Great for casual & hardcore Nirvana fans.I was a casual Nirvana fan before this podcast, but I've been listening to a lot more Nirvana lately, and I love it. Learning about the behind-the-scenes stuff, as well as the best of songs episodes are excellent. I never want this podcast to come to an end. This podcast works even better because of the relationship and the comraderie between Adam, Travis and Andy.

Yes rulesA nirvana podcast if you are way into shock jock wanna be humorIf you like the history of Nirvana by a bunch of bros, who’s doing their best “boomer and the nudge” morning drive-time commute impression, where they themselves be come the joke, this podcast is for you. Pretty sure the Incestiside liner notes were directed at dorks like these guys.

NinemimeANNNNNNNNNNNNDYIt took me a while to finally give this pod a chance, love Unpops, but not a big enough fan of Nirvana to add it to the rotation. When I heard the audacious claim that it is the funniest podcast on this network I had to find out out why. The show is a lovingly researched biography that quickly devolves into rambling cacophony of inane callbacks, in jokes, and 90’s references. The sum of which could not be more entertaining. Start from the beginning and enjoy.

Sally PearlGreat show! Finally, other people who are as fascinated as I am by the lore and legend surrounding one of the greatest rock-n-roll bands of all time! These guys take hilarious deep dives into the psyche of Nirvana and related culture. Quick wit, good info, an all around good listen!

some girrrlCould be goodThis podcast could be really good if they stayed more on track of the topic of Nirvana. But about half of certain episodes is nothing but inappropriate jokes and them laughing with each other about completely un-Nirvana related stupid jokes. The humor is cool, but they definitely take it too far a lot and makes me wanna turn it off.

Donna, but all names are takenYou thought it all ended back thenBut this changed everything!

emjwoodsOne more request for Travis' journalsI just finished binging my way through all these episodes over the last few weeks and I gotta tell you - waiting for new episodes is going to change EVERYTHING. I know Adam is a hip hop head, so I'd love to hear some combo of Unpops folks nerd out on the rap side of the musical spectrum. In the meantime, I'll continue to bask in the passive-aggressive glory that is this Kurt Cobain retrospective.

Bryan R. P.It Changed EverythingI was a subscriber to Unpops before this podcast existed. I was a casual Nirvana fan, but the hosts’ enthusiasm for the content, super fans that they are, is infectious and has not only given me a whole new level of appreciation for Nirvana, but also inspired me to continue digging into their catalogue that I haven’t dug into yet. Funny as hell and very well-informed bordering on obsessive/useless information, if you’re even a casual Nirvana fan, this podcast will change everything for you.

Curiously Strong MintTurns Minds to Mush!I'd give this supposed podcast one star if it hadn't dug through the trenches of man, myth and legend, so far and deep that it came through the underbelly and arrived at the top. That damned top. This monstrosity on our society must be stopped at all costs! BOO!
-
akbigdogs907For anyone who likes NirvanaAs someone who didn’t know much more about Nirvana then surface level this deep dive into their past is awesome. Adam and Travis are funny and insightful. Give it a listen even if you are a super fan you’ll love it.
