    Disappointed
Was really hoping for this to be better, will try again in a few weeks, but the hosts banter is distracting and interrupts the storyline/flow.

    Not a fan
They take forever to even start talking about the story and then when they do they go off on a side tangent about how it relates to their lives. I also found the timing of the laughing to be inappropriate when talking about the victims
  • LovelessLottie
    Unnecessary yapping
It takes entirely too long to get to the point of the story and once arriving at the story, Wendy becomes chatty and strays off-topic often I only listen to the short condensed versions to avoid this.

    Too much irrelevant commentary
I wanted to like this podcast but on my first listen, it took about 13 minutes to get to the actual story. That’s half of my commute!

    Highly Recommend
I’m new to this incredibly entertaining and informative podcast! I’m enjoying listening to this brilliant podcast which showcases domestic and international crimes and events which are centered on many cases involving members of the African diaspora. I was largely unaware of many of these cases and I appreciate the analysis and explanation of these stories and incidents. Looking forward to listening to what’s to come!

    Very Good
Lots of info, good patter, some insights, and saying what those of us listening are probably thinking! Two women I’d have a lot of fun hanging with, so I am now doing so, in a way. Added: I have gotten to really love these ladies. I enjoy the extra information on the area, the people, and the acknowledgment of the victims/survivors. I love learning, and anyone who doesn’t like that aspect can just go forward a bit to get to the meat of the stories.💜

    Love you guys!
I love this podcast and you guys! I love how you always include the history of the area or people. You guys are so funny and I love your friendship.
  • angiedmma
    Less chit-chat, please.
You guys have great information, but the delivery is what doesn't have your rate for the podcast above a 4.5. You should really should rethink your style because you got the research to turn this into an amazing podcast. You need to chat less and leave out some info that doesn't add to the story. I understand that you want to be informative, but that's not what wide audiences are after. I appreciated your episode on Ernesto Chavéz.

    Wonderful and amazing podcast
My first episode I watched was the Lester street murder. It was explained well I also figured out who did very quickly because when they were interviewing JR. He had a smirk on his face and I said he did it

    Not to the point
Sad that it took 30 mins of skipping to finally get to the actual story
  • mrhoskins
    Would’ve been good
They talk too much about other issues and don’t start the show. One had an annoying voice like she’s talking through her nose. Good content just too much other stuff going on about race and about their personal lives. Please don’t follow this show. You’ll spend 10-20 mins hearing about how their week went.
  • Rubyred7630
    No thank you
I couldn’t even get into the story I wanted to hear about. I don’t care what the origin of the words gang or cholo are. The hosts are obnoxious to listen to.
  • Lashe123
    Perfectly blended
This cast is one of my favorites. They have blended regional history, true crime, and humor all in one place! Wendy and Beth(shout out to Beths sis) understand the importance of sharing these stories in an educational way and don’t let negative Nancys disrupt that. Great job ladies.

    I like
I just started this podcast after binging my favorite black true crime podcasts and I like it a lot so far. Leaving a review because I don’t appreciate the bigots in the reviews writing bad reviews because they’re wrong about everything. *insert eye roll* Keep doing what you’re doing ladies!

    Absolutely love y’all
I love this podcast. I have to take long drives to go pick up my daughter from school and oh my goodness I love the banter and I also love your suggestions for different podcast absolutely spot on. You have me screaming back at my radio!!! People have been looking at me like I’m insane when I’m pulled up to a light and I have to yell at them to check out the podcast. Keep up the great work.

    Wait WHAT?!
I tune in to listen to you guys and need up listening to two white Millennials. Giiirrl, you are wrong for that. My ears are agitated. Still love yall

    “Unalive” is not a word
This podcast is ok. But the self-censoring ruins their credibility and makes them seem dumber then they probably are.
  • Andycf
    Heaping Pile of Bias
I gave it a 40 episode chance. Wendy is insufferable. Also the interview with Dellmus Colvin was terrible. They were giddy and the tone was insensitive to the victims of Colvin. You can be professional without pandering.
  • Edizzylizzy
    Racist much?
These hosts are so hung up on skin color. I’ve never heard such blatant discrimination on any podcast. Just found them and already making a quick exit.
  • RescueMomCg
    True crime and racism
If you love the race hustle narrative as a basis of everything- this podcast is for you.
  • Jmmercer
    *yawn*
Clearly, someone has been listening to too much My Favorite Murder thinking that format is desirable. Too much chit chat before the actual information is presented. You may be friends and get along/have fun hanging out or whatever, but not everyone wants to sit for 15 mins listening to random information that doesn’t pertain to your topic.
  • NikkiNicole96
    Thank you for being amazing
I love the historical context and culture corners. These stories can be heavy and I appreciate all the hard work. Big thanks to Wendy, Beth and the entire team that makes this show possible!
  • Zazu101
    Disappointing jokes at victims expense
I really tried to like this podcast but maybe I’m not desensitized enough to jokes about some of the cases they go over? When the ladies laugh after talking about a child getting murdered it’s not humorous. They do have some funny moments but the delivery time is horrible and to me comes across as not giving a f about the victim. I do like the dynamic between the hosts and how they bounce off each other when sharing information.
  • Bignose15
    Love the sho
These reviews are just crazy. You can tell as a world we love to be combative. This show has to be long and a little drawn out to explain. I love the fact that people go out of the way just to down a person. Go and listen to you conservative podcasts. Keep up the good work ladies!
  • BmLady23
    Just start already
Very obnoxious and takes tooooo long to start and get into the story Lord! I was so annoyed
  • nikkinickky
    Eesh.
Excited to find a new true crime podcast but couldn’t get further than 20 mins including ads… the one host is so obnoxious- it completely takes away from the story. Disappointing.
  • ObreeWan
    I love these gals.
I’ve been listening to this podcast for a few years now and Wendy and Beth do not disappoint. I love telling my friends about this podcast. I love the musical tributes to listeners. The culture corner portion of the podcast is quite underrated and I’ve always appreciated that acknowledgment in their shows. ❤️ I feel like cultures of victims and perpetrators alike are often understated in the true crime world. Anyway, I appreciate these ladies and have spent many hours on road trips with their episodes and many hours just gaming and giggling with them. It’s been wonderful to see this podcast grow.
  • skimare
    Wow
The reviews are seriously all.over.the.place! Which leads me to become a subscribed listener. Must be alotta somethin somethin goin on here!
  • urstellar
    YUCK!
Literally the WORST podcast I’ve ever listened to…I wanted to rip my ears off forever 🙊

Not for racists and race-sensitive losers
LOVE this podcast. The history/context that WendynBeth use to set the scene is top-tier storytelling. Episodes often touch upon how the history of racism and racists policies in America may have influenced the killer/victim. If this isn't your cup of tea, go listen to the 6 million other crime pods that cover ad nauseum the same 10 infamous American serial killers. Me, I LOVE FruitLoops and WendynBeth are two of the best in the biz!

    Best. Podcast. Ever.
Incredible podcast hosted by two very funny and thoughtful hosts. Long time fan of this podcast. Highly recommended 💕

Crime with a mix of history!
I LOVE culture corner! I love learning the histories of the cities and how it impacts those who live there. This podcast is a must listen and the hosts are just delightful!
  • cubbbbbybear
    Came for billy chimermer episode
I love true crime podcasts and have been listening to them for years so I love finding new ones! But I could not get past the racist comments about white people :/ if it was just one comment I would of been fine but it was multiple in a couple minutes within a few minutes so I felt I wasn’t welcome in this particular podcast community.
  • HAlicia2754
    I love you two 😎
I just listened to the latest podcast and it was great! Thanks your great together.
  • pasta for pigeons
Thanks for helping me do the work (as a white person)
A spin on true crime that’s teaching me *so* much about the racist history of crime reporting, as well as all kinds of things about segregation, red lining, etc. that I never learned in school. I especially appreciate the love and light portion right at the beginning, this is the first true crime podcast I’ve listened to that puts the victims first like that.
  • Kristin_is_good
    Love this podcast
I’m addict to true crime and this is one of my favorites because of the hosts. It’s a great podcast.

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • Gianella Nicole Marquez
    i love this podcast
it truly feels like i’m sitting down talking with friends while i’m listening, i love the focus on the history and the victims
  • Boomboompow111
    really wanted to like it
I tried to get through an episode because i love true crime podcasts and have heard great things but i felt like i had to continue fast forwarding through to get to the story. The beginning banger was too much, a little i get and enjoy but we don’t need a 15 minute intro, and the extensive history lessons before even getting to the story. I got to work before i even heard about the actual story of the killers. I think you should reserve that stuff for your Patreon members- people that genuinely enjoy it because I’m sure there are people who do, but many who do not. Wanted to like it but won’t be listening again

    I Can’t Stop Listening
Ladies!!! I can’t stop listening and laughing with you! Omg! I really love the podcast. So informative and funny. I am so glad I found you on Apple Podcast!!! Keep up the good work!!!
  • Tuml
    American hating racist
I really wanted to listen to this podcast about lesser know true crime. Unfortunately, it’s all about how racist and horrible America is.
  • sillyinfinity
    Entertaining and informative.
I really appreciate this podcast. It’s one of a kind and Wendy is super funny and silly. I love the levity paired with the seriousness of true crime. Some other reviews really missed the point. There is no specifically ‘white’ podcast because we live in a racist society that marginalizes people who aren’t white. I don’t know why that is so hard to understand. How will we ever heal and have a more conscious and healthy society if we don’t even acknowledge that racism exists? I am white and need to do better. This podcast is a healthy and humorous reminder to stay informed of our true history and be inclusive and real in all facets of media. Thanks, ladies! I appreciate you.

    Song remixes
I just started listening, because ive been looking for a podcast similar to the ones I already listen to. I love listening, feels like I’m listening to my friend and I talking. Also, I love the remixing songs, it’s something that I do on a regular basis, and it drives people crazy. I found my people. 🖤❤️🖤❤️I hope I continue to enjoy listening

    Review
I am a true crime junkie and I saw this and was intrigued by the podcast title. Unfortunately the lack of accuracy and the attempt to make everything around the topic of race was a turn off.
  • diva12191995
    Great podcast
Love the culture corners- all the 1 stars are obvi by butt hurt yt people.
  • fishbonwyfe

    Juice
Love y’all’s podcast. Just started listening when I saw y’all on the top podcast for Apple list. What’s up with the juice review lol. Is that person ok?
  • Ericka A
    Great show- no notes
Love this show and appreciate their perspectives and storytelling. I’m an adult so I don’t trash shows with low reviews the second I might have contrary opinions… I just stop listening. Lol. That being said, I rarely leave reviews but these ladies are always a great pod. Canceling out the haters with too much time on their hands. Love you both and wish you nothing but the best!
  • ardent-armadilla
    Love this podcast so much
Love listening to these gals! So happy I found you!
  • Nullity
    Enough of the race division!
Blacks make up 12% of the US population yet they make up a considerably larger percentage of the prison population. You would think with all of the affirmative action benefits they receive that other race groups do not that there would be less crime in this community yet most is black on black crime. There shouldn’t be a podcast specifically about a particular race – – I can see these ladies pitching a fit, if we have a white centric podcast or a Latino centric podcast. Why further separate people, don’t you think this country is divided enough??
