It honestly doesn't matter what kind of podcast it is because I would listen to them talk about literally anything. Cut the chit chat and dive into this masterpiece of a podcast. So I started making a list of my favorite episodes but no one asked for my top 300 favorite episodes so I narrowed it down to my top 3: if you're new to the podcast start with Ep122 Misery– A captivating tale told by our very own Kathy Bates, also known as Ketryn Porter Martin. I can't get the impression out of my head, it's so good., Ep148 What Keeps You Alive– A sweet but twisted LGBTQ+ tale I listen to whenever I feel like watching the movie (I've never seen it but they weave the tale so well I feel like I've seen it 100 times), Ep234 Pearl– worth a listen just to hear Ketryn perform Pearl's famous speech. Honorable mentions include Ep218 Final Destination– Arik, Ket's husband/podcast producer/roommate is an absolute delight and I'll never get enough of this hilarious duo and Ep310 Hereditary– Imagine telling someone one of the most shocking parts of the movie and they tell you they've experienced it in real life... Ummm yeah listen to this episode, okay!! D's also the sweetest purest angel who ever lived. Obsessed with the Kim and D duo. With that being said, I hope the podcast lasts forever and ever and ever and ever!!! You guys give me a reason to wake up every Wednesday and I love you so dearly! Also I would like a song please!! I have been a Sammie since episode 3. Love spending time with these ladies! Lots of laughs and lots of heart. I don’t enjoy watching horror movies, but I love experiencing them through Kim and Ket’s eyes…..please sing me a song ;-)

*sing my name please* Absolutely love this show! I've been listening for years. The concept is so creative and Kim and Ket bring so much joy and humor to horror. The detail they bring to describing the plot each movie feels like I’m watching it in my head.

I could have sworn I’d already provided a review as a three-year fan. So, I’m starting off 2025 by fixing my “gold fish brain” error. Wednesdays have long been celebrated as halfway to the weekend. However, I’m here to write that the KKSAM podcast is my reason to look forward to this day of the week. Kim and Ket (aka “Woot and Hoot girls”, ala episode 333) infuse every episode with awesomeness via their joyous friendship, expert sound effect & accent skills, and genuine hilarity, within a super fun concept. Thank you ladies for making our ear holes happy every week!

I love this podcast! It’s one of my favorites. If you like horror but can’t quite stomach watching on your own, I highly recommend this podcast. They aren’t gatekeepy about horror, they just like it and like to talk about it.

Currently my favorite podcast. My name is Sammy so obviously I would love this. It feels like I have friends who talk to me, but don’t listen. I appreciate the companionship especially considering that I listen to it while I clean an empty school. Which isn’t always the best choice because I think it causes me to see things. Maybe my brain is just dumb, I don’t know, but what I do know is that it’s worth the anxiety I get. Thanks Kim & Ket, you’re the best!

Listening to the descriptions and commentary on the Hellraiser episode was honestly better than watching the movie!

I feel like this is what would happen if my sister and I started a podcast. It’s fun and entertaining to listen to the description of the movies and the reactions. I love all the inside jokes and call backs! 10/10 ⭐️would recommend

Kim and Ket make a fantastic duo, telling you the plots to horror movies and playing a game to see if they’d stay alive! Love the voices they do, their banter and pretty much everything about them. Please listen for a good time.

Kim and Ket are absolutely hilarious and so genuine! Every time I listen I feel like I am sitting right there with them. They love horror and that comes through in every episode. They have also created an amazing community around the podcast. They are phenomenal people and they have created an amazing show.

Normally im not a horror person but Kim and Ket make the genre light and relatable. They scream and squirm like I do and are having the best time freaking each other out! Lots of info and great banter too!

I’m genuinely surprised this podcast isn’t more well-known. Hands-down, it’s one of my favorites, even competing against other podcasts with huge budgets and production teams. Kim & Ket are delightful hosts with a really fun dynamic. (Sometimes the whole “two friends talking about a thing together” format can get boring - especially if the hosts go off-topic for extended periods of time - but I don’t think that’s ever happened on KKSAM. Every episode I’ve listened to has been great.) I, personally, am a huge wuss who loves horror movies but is too scared to watch them alone. This podcast lets me engage in the genre with a lovely dose of comedy + without pissing my pants. Subscribe!

Some people sip a mug of tea and light patchouli incense before bed. I listen to murder podcasts while sipping bourbon and petting my pet Komodo dragon. I feel like Kim and Ket would approve. Also, Kim’s a sound effect maven who I have a not-so-minor crush on. I’m sure you will, too. Also, can we cancel patchouli as a smell?

You guys are awesome! I have to say as a host of a movie podcast that does horror too this show is where it’s at! It is just amazing!!

Kim and Ket are the cutest couple of girls I’ve heard so far in horror. Great concept in general and i love the wikipedia husband tid bits about the movies. From the running gags to the diverse selection of movies this has quickly become one of my favorite pods ❤️

I enjoy their recaps, but I shouldn’t know more trivia and backstory than they do on literally every single movie they cover. I mean, you’re a horror podcast, like can’t you at least go read the IMDB trivia? The repo episode was particularly bad in this way, which is weird since the freaking episode was over 2 hours lol

You know how everything is the worst right now? This podcast is not.

Fun, funny - but one person keeps SCREAMING or yelping or just spiking the volume out of nowhere. I love the discussion and game, but really hate the sudden volume spikes/literal screaming. I just cannot with these “jump scares” in the episode. If you want My Favorite Murder, but about horror movies, but also with unprompted irregular screaming, this is the show for you! I wanted to love this and absolutely can’t because of the screaming. This is definitely a show for somebody (else).

Whether I’m in the car headed to work, going for a run or just lounging around, this podcast has me hooked. You instantly feel like you are with your best friends while getting the dish on everything horror movie related, which is perfect for a scaredy cat like me. And in the most fun, creative way! Definitely worth a listen for the laughs, the silliness, and best of all, the horror!

Wednesdays are the best days because there’s more KKSAM! Kim & Ket have great chemistry, they’re so funny, & have made a great game of staying alive. Even a wuss like me can enjoy horror films now! I really enjoyed this podcast.... at first. But then they quickly turned into two entitled white girls trying to find a movement to support. A podcast I turned to for comfort and l;aughter becamse a podcast I'll never listen to cause all they wanted to do was complain about something that was not a horror movie.

I can’t watch horror movies anymore because they’re way too much for me these days. This is now the only way I want to experience them. So freaking funny! I feel like I’m just hanging with my friends talking about movies. So much so that I yell at my phone when they don’t acknowledge me and I’m trying to help them remember an actor or word they forgot.

Kim + Ket Stay Alive..... is just the best time EVER! Listen and you won’t be disappointed! The only bad thing about this podcast is there aren’t more episodes! If you love horror & love to laugh, listen. All the cool kids are.

I love horror, I looooove horror, and part of that is imagining being in the situations that the chharacters are in, and wondering whether I'd survive. So it goes without saying that Kim and Ket have nailed that aspect of the horror genre with their podcast. What more fun could there be than to listen to two women who love horror as much as I do talk about all the things I want to hear! Especially in such a fun and hilarious way.

Updating my previous review. Maintaining my 5 star rating because this is the best podcast in my feed and they deserve 10 stars!!! Here’s what I’d like to see: 1. I wish that I actually had incentive to subscribe to their Patreon. I’d like to support them because their podcast is top notch but the only Patreon I’ve subscribed to is True Crime Obsessed. Patrick and Gillian actually make FULL bonus episodes. Kim and Ketran just make Post Mortems that I’m not even curious about honestly. Please make full bonus episodes in tandem with your regular episodes and you will have a supporter right here at the $5 level! 2. Not a huge deal but nothing turns me off more than when the hosts fight or bicker. It’s so funny when it’s in a playful way and makes for great content but when you can clearly tell that both of them are just having a bad day and they genuinely argue or get catty with each other it makes me so uncomfortable and completely takes me out of the podcast. It happens rarely but when it does please cut it out in post. It’s like when Karen and Georgia fight on MFM. It’s only happened like twice but when it does it makes me cringe so hard.

I just stumbled upon this podcast and I have to say, these ladies are “killing it”. The format is hilarious and unique. My first episode was Fright Night, which happens to be my favorite movie - for real. I’ve been binge listening every since. I am so looking forward to more content. I, am living for it.

I stumbled on this last night and listened to the House if Wax episode on the way to work. I loved it and subscribed but I’m probably going to listen to The Thing episode next. Also - I was reading descriptions of various episodes before listening - “Larry” is a great name if not terribly sexy. I feel personally attacked! I’ve done pretty okay, thank you very much! Great stuff! Ps. I love older horror films. My favorite Vincent Price film is probably Masque of the Red Death. Creepy 14 year old me loves Hazel Court in this film (creepy adult me does as well). Ps2. #nerdert Paddle ball guy was featured became House of Wax was made in color and 3D.

After finding this podcast over the summer, I have burned through all the episodes. Kim and Ket have a great show. They are funny and have pretty great takes on movies. Highly enjoyable.
