    Guests Only
Ron & Pomp are great. Joe is difficult to listen to. Always sounds as if he’s one bad day away from a breakdown. Now that Ron is gone, the show is just blah. Joe’s neurotic. Paul is boring. There are a few guests I listen to, and delete all the rest.

    Allegheny white fish
You guys were hilarious talking about fishing and the fish that live in the three rivers but I just have to let you know that Allegheny white fish (or Monongahela white fish) are more commonly known as used condums. Do you feel enlightened?

    Ads
Everyone understands that in commercial radio, you have to play commercials, but this station is quite overbearing in that regard. Jake from State Farm is so ubiquitous, that he is often heard twice in the same break!

    The commercials!!
I just don’t understand the redundancy of the commercials. They play the same commercials three times in a row whether it’s the Spanish Lowes, the red neck mafia or the podcast one. I love Ron and Joe but this negates from the enjoyable listening. One other thing the Mark Madden show has like three 30 something segments but this show has one minute segments and other short timeframe segments. I would much rather have three segments instead of many mini segments.

    Odd mix of people
They cover the Pittsburgh sports scene, so for that, it’s ok. As for the quality of the voices? It’s tough to listen to for any length of time. Ron Cook is painful. He sounds like a slow old man who repeats himself constantly, mispronounces words and makes bad mistakes. His faux pas of calling Jack Ham, Jack Lambert was a bad one, especially since he was actually speaking with Jack Ham. Ham took it in stride, but Cook beat the mistake into the ground (Cook beats everything into the ground). He also tends to interrupt people and talk over them, and you can often sense the exasperation in the voices of the others on the podcast. Joe Starkey is the better of the two co-hosts, but he has this weird tendency to talk with a strange “baby talk” tone at times, which is just odd (especially when speaking to grown adults). He also has this strange inside joke with a made up word, which he and Cook have abused like a rented mule. “Incrinculant” is to Starkey the combination of incredible and excellent, which doesn’t even make sense. Podcast hilarity between Cook and Starkey ensues, though. The one saving grace is Producer Matt Koll (who for some reason, Starkey calls Foolzie - I guess that’s hilarious), who adds a younger, sane voice to the podcast.

    It’s the Joe Show
Starkey is a very good host who drives the show. He makes interesting points and ideas. Ron Cook by contrast just sits there and follows him, often repeating what Joe says.

Great pairing of Starkey & Cook…
I stopped listening to the previous lineup because I didn’t care for Poni (as soon as I see Poni on the KDKA sports shows, I change the channel). Really enjoy two veteran Pittsburgh sports writers who are knowledgeable, well-spoken & entertaining. Also really like when Bob Pompeani is on

    Pomp Adds Balance
Joe is pretty great, adding edge. He’s a strong MC. He also gives more resonance to Ron’s mostly unoriginal, predictable takes. But it is the appearances on Mondays of the third horseman of the Pompiani-lypse that lift this show to the best sports radio in Pittsburgh, especially after Steelers games.

I love the show but it’s always last to update on Podcasts!
Not sure who’s responsible for uploading the show segments on Apple Podcasts, but the Morninf & Afternoon Show’s segments will be uploaded just minutes behind the live airing, while their shows are still on the air. Sometimes the Cook & Joe show doesn’t even show up til’ the next day!!? Today being another example of that. Ugh!!! Someone get their s%#^ together!

    Missing segments
For a couple months now, there have been so many missing segments. I have to do a search for your show and then find them from there. Sometimes, they aren’t even on there. Why aren’t all the podcasts loading properly each day. I absolutely love your shows. Just wish I could find them in my library each day. Thanks!

The Fan has abandoned ITunes and podcasting it seems
Goodbye fan not chasing your shows, 20% chance of listening to Pitt games, thanks for the convenience of the past, good luck Omg the adds on live broadcast are so tedious I’m over it “Welcome back Carter” we get selected segments of C&J, and the Morning Show seems restored

    Very nice.
Pittsburgh sports is key, and these guys pick it up like Pouncy picking up an MLB blitz. Very nice.

    Full episodes?
I listen to 93.7 the fan (tune-in radio) almost daily since in moving from Pittsburgh but today I wasn’t able to listen live. So I went out to search for recorded full episodes and thought for sure you would have it in a podcast. While each and every day is great, I was strikingly disappointed to see that only snippets of the shows were available. Live radio is far from being a pastime, however live podcasting is where things are obviously heading and I would really enjoy it if the recorded podcast could be in full shows. Keep up the great work and entertainment for all the Pittsburgh sports Fanatics!
