I love this show, for Melanie and Dom provide an excellent example as a married couple, which helps me to learn from them--on how to live out my marriage and interact with my family and friends.

Raising the Betts is one of the few podcasts that I make a point to listen to every week. The peek into their family life, savory food experiences, insightful book and movie reviews, and living faith, all grounded in humor and reality, are an inspiration! I am grateful to be able to spend a bit of time with them each week!

I always race to listen to the newest episode and love getting an update on the Betts. I especially like to hear about the Homeschooling, reading, watching and cooking segments.

I look forward to hearing the Betts’ adventures each week. Our family of five were also home schoolers, active in the scouting movement, raising all of them in the faith. Thank you Dom and Melanie for sharing your adventures. Sometimes I learn a great new recipe to share, find new things to watch, read and visit. May your years with your children be at least as blessed as ours has been.

I’m raising a family far away from my roots. I’ve discovered this podcast and feel like it’s going to be helpful in encouraging me to hold fast to my beliefs in the Southern California culture. It takes a village to raise children and Dom and Melanie are part of my village now!!

Highly enjoyable and entertaining listen if you have a family with small children. As a stay at home mom it’s just really great to feel like you have friends walking along the same journey. Melanie and Dom have similar interests to me and my husband, and they are just so interesting and down to earth. I think I have found a favorite podcast! Can’t wait to hear the next episode.

As a listener of SQPN’s other podcasts, I found this one a fun change of pace. I often listen to “Mysterious World” or “Secrets of Star Trek” on my own (though my wife loves hearing about them), but my wife and I have started listening to “Raising the Betts” together as they come out weekly. With a little one (and more on the way), sometimes we break up an episode over a few days, but we love listening to parents who are adventurous, quirky, and Catholic like us. Dom and Melanie give a fun gloss on their week, then talk about recipe ideas (a few of which I have stopped to write down), movies and shows, books, and more. Overall, I like how “humanizing” the show is—after lifting off with stellar mysteries and Star Trek commentaries, it’s good to return home to the extraordinary ordinary but no less Mysterious world of family life!

I’ve been reading Dom and Melanie’s blogs for years now and hearing their voices is like seeing a radio personality in the flesh! As a fellow father of five with similar interests, Catholic Faith, etc. I enjoyed this inaugural episode and look forward to many more. Dom has a great “radio voice” too.
