Somehow this has become one of the most negative Canes pods out there. Best season team has had in 20 years and you guys sound like the sky is falling every show.

“Peeing in a troth was not fun”. Legit made me smile and remember the OB. Awesome insight and conversations,. Feels like home, even the many “I told you so’s”.

    Pod - Reviewing preseason predictions.
I agree J.George does need to get stronger to get DBs off of him. Or he needs to work on his releases with his feet and hand play. I don’t agree with having him split slot reps with Restrepo, unless one of 24’ receiver prospects comes in dominating or they land a top WR1 transfer. It’s fine to move the receivers across positions to create mismatches, but George has had success playing outside so there’s no reason to box him into being slot next year. And if they did that then we’d never see Ray Ray Joesph play or Breshard Smith play. Immediately following that comment he mentioned Breshard needs more snaps yet he’s giving away the Slot reps to George pretending they’d fine a creative way to implement others. Restrepo, he’s a hard worker, but if he doesn’t transfer I hope the coaching staff does a better job of getting more explosive players snaps. Like next year I don’t want to see Ny Carr, Ray Ray & Trader all on the bench with X getting 12 targets underneath. JW & LT it doesn’t matter how well they play as soon as either of them have one bad play in a game everyone piles on them and bring up the former 5 star status. *LT had like a 4 game run of solid to dominate play, taking on double teams, getting pressure, freeing up Bain for one on ones, yet people still want to say he’s playing bad. And I guess it’s because he isn’t getting sacks!? **JW on the other hand is tackling is declined as the season progressed, he’s either looking for the big hit or doing some wild body swinging tackles that don’t bring the player down all the time. The other thing that makes it easy to pile on JW is he talks too much. After every play, he’s chirping, pushing, stealing towels whatever and I like that but you have to back it up with the play that matches that energy. Kam Kinchens this is just my theory but after returning from the injury it felt like he’s been pressing too hard to make plays. Almost to try to recover his draft stock after being injured. The past 3-4 weeks we’ve seen more of that Middle Tennessee Kam that’s peeking in the backfield while getting beat over the top.

    Meh
Manny is ok, a little on the negative side for my taste. But that Carlos dude is terrible, doesn’t add anything to the show, very amateur, unlistenable. Do yourself a favor Manny and do the podcast solo.

    Great show
Huge fan of the show, and I am a frequent listener but I had to leave this review because my man (Carlos) playlist was on point, major brownie points and I love the show

    Always on the Money
Manny, with help from Carlos, does a great job of keeping tabs with Canes football. He’s thorough with research and facts, fair, and the show is interesting and topical. He does some Xs and Os talk but it’s not too technical and not too informal. It’s not a ton of recruiting either, although he hits that but if you want that day to day go elsewhere. He’s not trying to crack jokes or be cute. This is just good information and analysis from someone who has been around S. Florida for a long time and knows the history and still is interested in getting things right. Always enjoy the insights.

    Best Canes podcast out there
Been listening to Manny Navarro for years. He’s the best around covering the program! Always informative. Always thoughtful. Always does his homework! Love the back and forth with Kelvin! Keep it up, Manny!

THE ONLY HURRICANE PODCAST FOR ME
Very good and informative podcast, the guests are always good and insightful, and Kelvin is always a laugh with his perspective.

I love the reviews of the transfer portal and the inside information. Sportswriters have great podcasts

    Great podcast
I like Kelvin, Manny, & Co. Lack of player development that Zimmerman talks about is because of poor strength and conditioning. Canes won’t compete with Clemson & Bama until they have a strength coach that knows personally what it takes to lift heavy weights, both speed-strength and absolute strength. It’s not all about recruiting.

Need to fix the mike issues or stop moving things around while recording!!! Love the podcast, but this is very frustrating!!

Used to be a five star podcast
I thought this was the best Canes podcast until Kelvin became a regular panelist. He unnecessarily dominates the show greatly brings down its overall quality. It would be fine if he was a periodic guest in a limited spot. But until then, I am going elsewhere
  • DAC0725
    Great Analysis
Great job breaking down the games and other issues surrounding the program! Kelvin and Manny are great. No more Mike Zimmerman though!!

    Miami Hate Podcast
You would think that this is a Miami hate pod. Especially when Manny and Zimmerman give their take. I would’ve gave them zero stars if I could. If you guys want a positive and informative podcast go download Through The Smoke with Ivans and DLake. Go Canes!!!

45 Minutes on Shiting on the Canes
Manny is a good guy but his take on the Hurricanes is so negative that you just want to throw your phone against the wall. There’s no balance in his reporting. His dislike for CMD is palpable and his preference for Mario Cristobal is obvious. His self deprecating humor gets tiring after a while.
  • redcane_50
Walter Villa is a waste of time
I really like Manny’s coverage and enjoy listening to him. He’s obviously on top of his coverage of the canes. His insights are helpful to having a better understanding of what’s going on inside the program. However, when walter villa comes on, I’d rather stick knives in my ears. He’s absolutely out of touch with everything. All he does is have opinions that don’t matter, nor are very relevant and ask Manny questions, because he has NO IDEA of what’s happening. Please never bring him on your show again, Manny. It’s embarrassing. Let him write for Herald, but keep him off the airways for the Canes. What a waste.

    Players
I no longer agree with calling out players specifically. I think position groups instead. I haven’t seen many “plays” made by playmakers. Best is bubba and that it’s an outlander is disconcerting. Dade, Broward and PB stand up!
  • Umcane07
    Great coverage!

Clearly King didn’t want that reported
Be like Ivins, who keeps the stories ready for when the kid announces, not someone who steals thunder so they can be the first reporter with the headline.
