I really liked this podcast and wish it would return. It provided a great start to the days local news.

Stop using automated voices. They may sound “human” but it seems inauthentic and I do bot want technology replacing good human personality.

At first I thought this was just a brief change so staff could take a holiday- I dislike having a robotic voice being the first thing I hear every morning.

The robot readers are a big step down.

Not sure if she just has a cold or what, but suddenly this podcast sounds like it’s being read by Siri or Alexa, with weirdly flat intonation. Seems so robotic and stiff compared to last year, what happened??

I really tried to give it a chance. The past two are now being read by a computer’s synthetic voice. I couldn’t stand it. If you can’t even invest having a real person do the job, then just don’t produce a product.

The readers of news on this podcast are obviously not local as one of them mispronounced the name of one of the major universities in NC.
