Easy listening & great history - needs audio help tho
There's not too many podcasts that dig into the history of African countries and the diaspora in ways that are straightforward, interesting, and don't drag on — which is why this podcast stands out. Its lighthearted but has range and they don't necessarily get into too many rabbit holes that distract from the stories which I appreciate. - The only reason I'm not a more regular listener is that for as many episodes as they created they still seem to struggle hard with leveling out the audio 🥲. this creates a disjointed experience for me as a listener as I'm toggling volume up + down and sometimes struggle to hear what one host is saying before a dramatic increase from another mic or whatever.. - Overall solid & fun - just needs some technical support

    Long overdue
I am a white Boomer and I’m embarrassed that I know so little about most African countries. I’ve been through the first season and have learned so much. Looking forward to the other seasons. Thank you ladies.

Great show on an underrated topic
Unfortunately, I don’t come across many history podcasts that cover Africa, so I always cherish the ones I do find and this is one of them. The hosts are very amicable and passionate about covering these stories. They’re usually well researched and knowledgeable as well and since they’re from some of the countries/cultured covered, they often bring in inside knowledge or help break things down even easier to understand

    Great Job on CFA Francs
Your recent episode on French influence on the monetary system of its former colonies in west and central Africa is very poignant. These countries still remain vassals of France after all these decades of “independence”. In west Africa they tried to introduce a new currency - the ECO - to integrate the economies of member states of the Economic Community of West African States ECOWAS, but it was scuttled on the eve of its implementation due to pressure from France

    Interesting podcast
Unusual approach in that I feel that in many cases I know more about the different nations than they do but it works you feel their shock when they find out about places like Western Sahara. It’s about learning while they learn well done ladies keep it up.

Wonderful show, very informative, on world history and, in particular, African culture, geography and historical key moments. Yes, Africa is a continent, and yes, this podcast is seriously good!
