    One of the best
One of the BEST thought leaders out there in the “being a human” space. Jody, please have your team cut this stuff into infinite clips and bombard all the platforms. YouTube, TikTok… you are so right on and more people are just waiting to binge your podcast and join your programs. edited my comment in 2025 after the “should” episode, which is a banger. And yes, I do realize the irony of telling you that you should market more. 😂 But flood the airwaves, baby!

Jody opened my mind and my heart
Thank you Jody for teaching me tools that continue to help me get out of my own way, get stronger and be more empowered. I’ve done a lot of work over the years and your podcast and program have helped me 10x more than any counseling or other tools have because I realized I didn’t have to live in the past. I got good at feeling negative emotions instead of resisting them or intellectualizing them. Now I’m preparing for your coach training program and will take everything to the next level personally and professionally. Thank you!

Please stop excluding most of the world
The constant references to the Mormon church exclude the rest of the world from really understanding and appreciating Jody’s message. Her and other people going on about testimonies, missions, wards, church leaders, etc. The newer episodes are less culty with the LDS push, but because of this, the podcast series is not accessible or enjoyable to the majority of the planet. Speaking of god is fine as most people can relate to that or make it their own. Jody is a great coach and that’s why I keep trying to listen. But I find myself skipping parts or entire episodes. I’m constantly searching for a podcast and program similar to Jody’s without all of the religious stuff. Hopefully it won’t get to the point where I just stop listening.

    More confrontational than helpful
This is totally subjective, and I know based on other reviews that people have found Jody’s podcast life-changing. I’ve had experience with effective counseling, and this podcast’s approach feels very different—often confrontational rather than supportive. While Jody seems confident in her methods, the advice given seems to lack the real empathy necessary to make personal growth possible. Instead of fostering self-reflection, many episodes push rigid or overly simplistic solutions that don’t align with evidence-based techniques. If you’re looking for genuine personal development, I’d recommend seeking insights from trained mental health professionals instead of someone who graduated from coaching school.

    The Best of the Best
I listen to a lot of podcasts and Better Than Happy is by far the best. I’ve even gone back and listened from episode one because I find her advice so helpful and actionable. No fluff. I’m not Mormon and can just disregard anything religious which honestly doesn’t come up a ton. Her voice is great and upbeat too which is a big plus with listening. Been listening now for years and her show is the best!

It’s working!!! It IS BETTER THAN HAPPY!!
I’ve been a podcast listener since 2016 and a Be Bold/The Lab member since 2017. The other day, I had a truly transformative moment that made me realize just how much this work has shaped me slowly but surely. ( also quick note; I’ve only been coached live one time, in 2018, since then I’ve just been listening to coaching) For some context, I have two sons ( my oldest and second oldest) who came home early from their missions—one after just three months out in the field and the other within days of arriving in the country. Both had their own unique reasons, and my reactions to each situation were different. Neither experience was easy, but I managed to navigate those challenges as best I could, largely thanks to learning from Jody how to self-coach and doing the work. Here’s where the real power of this work showed up for me recently: I’m part of a Facebook group for missionary moms (which, truthfully, I still question why I stay in). I don’t log in often to FB but this time, the first post I saw was from a mom hugging her missionary goodbye, captioned with, “….Worst and hardest day of my life….” At first, my mind went to a snarky place: “Is it, though? Have you had not one, but TWO missionaries come home early—and one tell you he’s stepping away from the church?” But then, something amazing happened. I caught myself, then Instead of spiraling into shame or judgment, instinctively after I noticed the thought, got curious about it, and gave myself grace!!! I recognized that my reaction stemmed from my own life experiences. At the same time, I was able to allow space for this mom’s feelings, understanding that her experience is just as valid as mine. That shift allowed me to move from frustration of my experience “and that’s not hard, you think that’s hard?” to a place of genuine joy for her—that she has a missionary out spreading God’s message of love, even if my experience has been difficult and different. It was a profound and natural moment of growth, and it’s all because of this work. Thank you for giving me the tools to navigate life with more compassion for myself and have a better life experience! Truly BETTER THAN HAPPY!!

Rise of Feminism Part 3 should be used for bishop training
Those last couple of minutes in this episode where Jody says if business partners don’t come to a resolution then the one with responsibility gets to choose how to move forward…I wish THIS is how ward councils worked. I wish THIS was a belief held by bishops and other church hierarchy positions. Can Jody rewrite the church handbook?! Please! The Primary President is supposed to be the head of primary, the YW President, same, stop making everyone defer to the Bishop as the President of everyone. I know many wards are collaborating, but the handbook and “how to have a council” trainings leave too much room to interpret that the priesthood title is the deciding factor instead of the actual person doing the actual job….

    Claiming all agency
Jody, I am a Spokane raised girl too! Love your approach and love your podcast. It opened my eyes! I’ve been a listener for 7 years now. Love your stuff! In relation to the gospel I feel like this thought work is laying claim to all my agency. I picture it like taking a broom and sweeping out all thoughts in my brain from all the small spaces and then using my agency. By sweeping it out and bringing it in the light I get to then lay claim to it and exercise my agency in regards to it! I’m claiming all my agency and by so doing I’m claiming all my power! So much freedom!

    Life changing!!
This podcast has changed the way I think, feel, and act. I always feel so motivated, ready to be an agent to act & not be acted upon after listening. Jody is entertaining, to-the-point, and full of wisdom!!

    My Go-To Mentor
Jody's podcast is fun and entertaining to listen to but most of all is so incredibly helpful in every aspect of life. It's the one podcast I can't live without and what helps me learn and improve in some way every time I listen. She is thoughtful and kind and truly loves people. It is evident that she does all of this work herself and is always finding new avenues of information to share. It's my #1 recommendation.

Love the daily boost to be empowered
I love listening to a podcast each day. I have let fear run the show too much in my life unfortunately. This coaching podcast has helped me think in a more productive way and helped me realize so much about myself. Thank you! I like that you help people in and out of your faith and seem so supportive regardless.

I just went though something really hard with a friend then my aunt showed me this podcast and now I listen to it before and after school everyday and I have learned so much and I’m reallly great full that you take the time to do this for so many people.

    New Intro, thank you!
Thank you for changing the intro and dropping the “little bird…let’s fly” part. I enjoy your show so much for practical life skills, elevating my thoughts and thinking in a new way and the “little bird” part felt condescending. Thanks for dropping that part of the intro!

Jody thank you so much for the topics you bring up! So many have resinated very deeply with me! There are so many things that you say that just get me to look at things in a different way.

    LDS view
While I understand why she took out her LDS views from her podcast, so she can reach more people. Part of the reason I so much enjoyed her podcast, was because she talked about the LDS faith being a part of her daily life and how it also brought her to being better than happy. Sadly the show has just lost that little bit of extra comfort for me. She still has great material that can be helpful (if it’s not just the business talk). But I miss the old feel and the feel her book had.

    Love Like Jesus
This episode almost made me cry. I am Catholic. The responses of “I try to connect with God,” “Ask him where he wants me to be” were such a beautiful responses. Everyone wants solid answers. A thought that crossed my mind is that the heart doesn’t “check boxes,” it “feels.” I know so many wonderful people with good hearts who let a check of a box overrule a feelings in their heart. This was beautiful. Thank you! 🥹💛

I absolutely love this podcast! It’s like free therapy. I’ve grown so much and had so many light bulbs go off in my mind listening to Jody! Can’t recommend it enough!

    🫶🏼
Just listened to my first episode and really enjoyed the useful tools shared and the way you so gracefully called out and challenged the thoughts while not calling out the person. I loved the examples here on facts vs thoughts. Thank you for the valuable insight.

    High value podcast
This podcast is always worth your time and I always prioritize it on my podcast list! You can learn so so much from Jody moore’s free better than happy podcast. I have now been a member of her paid subscription podcast for almost three years and still find the words and lessons incredibly valuable in my life. They have really helped retrain and balance my brain to think about things through the lens of the model she teaches. I am 38 years old and I feel like my maturity has grown exponentially since joining joeys “better than happy, the lab” (originally “be bold” when I joined). Worth every penny.

Helpful, educational approach to improving behavior, thoughts, and feelings
Five stars. No cost sharing of these tools is very generous. I recommend this podcast to reinforce the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and a number of other models used in a therapist’s office. I do caution (as life coaches recognize) that it is not therapy. If this doesn’t help, if in fact it leads to feeling worse, you might consider working with a licensed professional. Like physical health, sometimes we have a cold and sometimes we have pneumonia. They require different levels of care. If you find you are suffering common emotional cold symptoms, Jody Moore is a great treatment option. Five stars.

    Little bird 🐦
Sorry, I crack up inside and somewhat cringe every time I hear, “Are you ready little bird? Then let’s fly!” She probably means it to be cute. I can’t get over how weird of an intro it feels. As a listener, I don’t necessarily like being called a little bird 😜

Shira Gill needs to do a little more research.
I love Jody’s podcast, but the interview with Shira Gill really grated on my nerves.. Really? No one was doing Home Organizing or Niche Organizing in the last 15 years? She needed to do MORE research.. the GURU of organization was/is Julie Morgenstern, who has been doing this for 30 YEARS.. and has had four New York Times’ best sellers “Organizing from the Inside Out”, “Time Management from the Inside Out”, “Never Read Email first thing in the Morning” (“Making Work Work was the audio version” and “When Organizing Is Not Enough” (which introduced the SHED process”. She founded TaskMasters more than 20 years ago while trying to find a means to support herself and her daughter after a divorce.. and she started with busy moms and busy people. So SHE was the trailblazer on this organizing area/genre. While I listened to the entire podcast, It really left a bad taste in my mouth with these “The LIFECOACH School” alumni who always act as if they invented the wheel/concept when they did NOT. She actually was describing the SHED process by Julie Morgenstern in this interview.

Jody Moore's podcasts are awesome. I always learn something worthwhile listening. It makes me a better more positive person to listen to and apply the principals she teaches. Jody, this podcast is ADDICTIVE❣️A friend introduced me to your podcast 3 weeks ago. I started on Episode 1, and just completed your 107th podcast! She Tortures Animals
I would have enjoyed the show maybe, but I when I found out that she has no problem flushing live fish down the toilet because she’s too lazy to take of them, I realized this person isn’t someone I want talking in my ear. You lost a listener, a potential client, and I certainly won’t recommend this show. Monster.

    Life Changing!
Your podcast has been a huge blessing to me! It has changed my perspective on so many areas of my life and helped me to improve myself and my marriage, while also accepting that I’m still going to be a hot mess sometimes 😜! It also helps me face the future with hope and courage, knowing that I can choose my thoughts about whatever comes. Thank you for the work you are doing. It is making a big difference!

Great on so many levels! Not so with intro music.
Jodi you are amazing! Love love all your content and I gain clarity from each episode. The emotional health one was especially insightful! But, girl, the new intro music is not good. Sounds like a horror movie.
  • Heavy Metal Poisoning
    New intro
Love this podcast and all its content! So helpful! One comment that has nothing to do with the content…the new intro music sounds like something from a true crime podcast rather than a podcast about how to be “Better Than Happy”. I know those are my thoughts and what you choose is none of my business but just thought I’d give you some feedback as a long time listener and subscriber in Be Bold. :)

    Equality in Marriage Episode 96
I was so ready to listen to this and let my husband know everything he could work on. I was humbled and glad that Jody let me see myself in a new light and that it takes two to have equality. Haha I love the new insight and change in thinking that I get from listening to this podcast. It helps me give myself grace and my husband. Thanks Jody!

    Jody is so wonderful!
I love listening to Jody every week! She helps me simplify and calm down my very active and -sometimes mean to myself- mind. With her help, I’m learning to love myself and love every part of my life; even the hard parts. I love the guests she interviews as well and I’ve started following a few of them! Thank you for sharing your light and goodness with the world Jody!!!

    I love Jody!
Ugh - I just love her. I started listening to Jody a few years ago, and I knew she was a good one. I Purchased her book. Loved it. I haven’t listened to her podcast as much recently, but just listened to the episode on cliques. She has only gotten better at what she does and she’s so wise and loving. I will never stop listening to what this lady has to say! Love you, Jody. God bless you.

Practical and helpful tips to access more joy!
I am so impressed with Jody and her podcast. She shows up with such integrity and commitment for her listeners week after week. Her strengths include being kind and honest, her empathy, and her ability to talk about the “hidden” subconscious things that accidentally run our thoughts and lives. Each episode is packed with value. 10/10 recommend!
