izzioaklandcaFeedback on the podcastSam is the most incredible interviewer!! He asks such great questions and is truly a gifted listener as is reflected in his responses and interactions with his guests. My #1 favorite podcast, hands down.
-
357)?;6$Immersive and upliftingSam is a skillful interviewer. He disarms his guests by asking a series of thought provoking questions to reveal perhaps their more private selves or at least their less public selves in a way that’s truly fascinating. With a bit of humor and wit he grabs your attention in such a way that you feel connected to the both host and guest. This show is a treat.
-
MyFeedback2UExcellent!Wow! I am late to this podcast but love it. Truly dynamic and engaging conversations. Both host and guests are well suited to each other. I feel like am listening to a lovely friendship develop with each episode. My favorite part is when a guest is blown away by the detailed research, often saying, “how did you know that?”
-
jeydebA Gem of a ShowI happened upon Talk Easy around the time of Nikki Giovanni’s transition and I have been listening non stop since then. Sam is a natural at this. He’s well researched, he’s kind, he’s thoughtful and I notice the ease with which open up to him. One of the best podcasts I have in my rotation!!!!!!!
-
KatWey4444Great listen - consistentlySam is consistently respectful, playful, insightful and provoking making this one of the best interview pods out there.
-
DominicNJOne of the best podcasts out there!Love hearing Sam interview interesting folks every week. He digs in deep, making for some great conversations with his guests.
-
DenverCostcoHumanizing & authenticKudos for a podcaster that truly brings out the human experience of each guest. Whether it’s an actor, director, writer or politician, Sam Fragoso is masterful at cultivating a human connection with each guest through his own authenticity! Thank you for renewing my faith in humanity. A true appreciation of the complexity of the human condition, aural artistry at its finest! Thank you

B. BirdellJoyce Carol Oates! Hilton Als!!Thank you for interviewing Joyce Carol Oates! I have loved her since I was a teenager decades ago. Her novel, Them, was the first “serious” novel I read in the 1970s. ❤️ The Hilton Als interview knocked it out of the park! There was so much to absorb. I can't wait to see the exhibit at the Hammer. I love you, Sam Fragoso. You are the best.
-
Aissa SonrisaLet Me Count The WaysSam’s voice, his humor, his thoughtful questions, his kindness, his mindfulness. I love his guests. I wish I was younger so I could ask him to go on a date with me. I am so grateful that another podcast recommended Talk Easy. I wish they would print Talk Easy shirts. ❤️

batpawLoveFragoso is one of the most thoughtful interviewers ever.

L.A. LoriThis is an outstanding use of timeI subscribe to Pushkin as I try to give each podcast a listen. I listened to Talk Easy about 3 months ago and I loved it. I loved the way he prepares for each person he will interview. I appreciate the way he changes his style to get the best out of his guests. I know of all of the guests and may not be very interested in them but by the time I’ve listened I’m blown away by the interview, by Sam and the person he is interviewing. This has become one of my favorite podcasts and I listen to many! I guess I’m a super fan.
-
LeavittateEstablished as one of the greats! In the long-form genre of interview podcasts, Sam is my favorite. Hands down.
-
Hamlet from Reduced Shakepeare Radio ShowOpen hearted interviewsSam Fragoso does deep dives into research into each and every person interviewed. Sometimes it’s someone with whom I think I’m familiar and sometimes it’s someone I barely recognize and yet at the end of the interview I’ve learned about a full life. I not only learn about the person interviewed and Sam, I also learn about worlds that friends and family inhabit. It’s both a mirror and a window into lives people live with the how and why of it all. Thank you for your thought provoking and heartwarming and sometimes heart wrenching insights.

VictooshThe Art of the InterviewI just finished listening to the interview with Francis Ford Coppola. Absolutely masterful and goosebump inducing, especially those last few moments. I really can’t say enough good things about Sam Fragoso…
-
Dennis KJrWhiskeyVery enjoyable long form conversation pod with consistently fascinating subject guests. I can’t quite put my finger on why but I always feeling like fixing myself a glass of whiskey while listening to it. That’s the vibe.

Alo456Do they really let anyone do a podcast? Bar is on the floorThis guy is a joke and a pig. A want to be knock off joe rogan. Lame and boring. Reminds me of all the pathetic boys who finally got access to a microphone and get off to the sound of their voice and any minuscule amount attention. TOMATOES

FaithCarrieMakes me crave being interviewed by SamThis podcast inspires me daily as a creative and artistic person. It also gives me an unrealistic hope to one day be interviewed by such a compassionate, thoughtful, and smart interviewer, such as Sam. I love the way he catches his interviewees by surprise with his questions and with his extensive knowledge of their work and their lives. I love hearing guests get choked up because Sam has struck a chord they weren’t expecting to be played in their own hearts. What a gifts.
-
HorsingAround123Moving, interesting and insightfulAbsolutely love Sam’s interviewing style. He manages to really peel back the layers of his guests so that you often feel like you are getting a glimpse into their hearts and souls and what drives them. Thanks Sam for introducing me to such a varied group of interesting people.
-
sibil binkFirst-rateSam Fragoso is one of the best interviwers out there. Intelligent, perceptivd, skillful, deft, challenging, fearless. His interview with James Carville is a classic.
-
BravoByBSo goodSerious thank you to Julia Louis Dreyfus for introducing me to this podcast cow you were not wrong
-
GladysNanceCondescendingThis guy gets great guests and I don’t know how. His questions are often quite unique and always informed, but sooooooo judgy. Maybe it’s just his tone, but he comes across as they guy who thinks he is the smartest person in the room. Or wants to be.
-
MerrydasTop notch interviewerSam is the next Terry Gross
-
rayxheallBrings joyI love the calm energy and heavy research put into Sam’s interviews. Every time I listen, I feel relaxed and educated. Keep doing what you’re doing Talk Easy team <3 And please have Luca Guadagnino on next!!

Boberino9%Now on my must listen listMore Ezra Klein than Ezra Klein. Sam is what Ezra used to be, imo. I have been searching for someone to fill Klein’s podcast shoes ever since he went to NYT. Finally found him.
-
Glacier1975Of all the interviews. This young man is better. Better than all of themI am listening to the Carville interview. I am close to James’ age. I am stunned and impressed. And depressed with the state of things in America. I have grandkids. A family. I am hopeful that Sam helps bring America toward the light. he is having the right conversations. Good good job Sam. And. Thank you.
-
lizliz200Best interview podcastI can’t adequately describe how moving and personal Sam”s interviews are. I just finished his most recent one with Annie Baker and I had to rewind multiple times because the content is so profound it bears repeating and serious contemplation. He seriously researches every interviewees background. This leads to interviews that even the most interviewed person appears delighted and moved to be spending time with Sam. This is true for the podcast listener as well.
-
wilde ggSam makes life betterI love waking up early on Sunday morning for Talk Easy 🌟one of my favorite sacred experiences in life. After several years of listening to Talk Easy I have learned that whomever is the guest, it’s not necessary that I know the work of the interviewee - or think “I’m so excited to hear what this person has to say.” Rather, I know that Sam accelerates the likability of the folks who sit with him, making everyone interesting and engaging. I guess his team also rules at choosing fascinating people with whom Sam can Talk Easy ❣️
-
arthousecleanerSam needs to have his own Talk Show!Sam does such a deep dive with each guest. His brilliant interviewing style, wit and grace is like no other. He should be a late night host! I listen to so many pods Sam’s voice and subject matter is so captivating. The new Terry Gross.
-
fromthewestwithloveAn incredible host. An illuminating show.Sam’s approach to connecting with the show’s guests is filled with intention and care. His ability to create a welcoming space for people to share candidly is truly special. The end of every episode leaves me feeling inspired in some way. Highly recommend!
-
racingintothefutureJeff BridgesOne of my favorites interviews. Love this show and in-depth questions
-
@N@1R0Masterful ConnectionI’ve been faithfully listening to Talk Easy since Sam had a conversation with my friend Morgan Parker. The art of conversation is, admittedly, difficult especially in a country where listening and thinking thoughtfully isn’t encouraged. Sam’s conversations every week remind me that being engaged with other human beings is really what life is all about. Thanks for your exceptional work, Sam!
-
crr119One of the bestSam has created one of the best, most thoughtful and well engaged, well researched podcasts available. I look forward to every new episode. Thanks Sam!!

carotempNew favoriteI was looking for deep dive interviews with Lily Gladstone and found Sam and Talk Easy. I feel like I stumbled on a treasure. My time is precious and I want to spend it with those who know and care about their own humanity enough to know ours. Thank you Sam, seeing yourself and your guests is a gift.
-
travisfiliA new favorite podcastSam hosts such tender, intimate conversations with some of my favorite artists. I feel like I learn something about the world from these conversations. If I'm not familiar with the guest, I usually walk away from the episode watching or reading their works. Like I watched Dan Levy's new movie a day after listening to his episode.
-
Keishie23Just loveI have so much respect and love for this podcast. I appreciate all the work the host and team put in. Also you have the best guests ❤️. Thanks for Sharing 🙏🏾
-
Jenn WolfeA treasureI come away from Every. Single. Episode expanded in some way. Sam’s conversations distill the best thinking his guests have to offer—and that’s saying a lot considering the staggering insight and breadth of experience they bring. This show is kind of like its own universe.
-
gbbggbbgbgbggbbgbgbgbSam and his guests are amazingI look forward to each episode. I savor the joy and profundity of the human connection in each episode. It’s a balm for troubled times.
-
ConfectionistaA favorite podcast!I LOVE this podcast and eagerly await its appearance every Sunday morning in my feed. Sam is a gifted and empathetic interviewer who obsessively researches his subject’s history to uncover obscure & fascinating bits from their past. His guests invariably express their surprise & delight with the depth & breadth of the conversation. There is an INCREDIBLE list of folks he’s interviewed over the years & every one is a gem! Dig in & enjoy!
-
TrustyVSSo Long Terry GrossThis human really knows how to listen, and truly respects his guests. So much empathy humor and joy Beautiful.

Zamira A.AmazingI am hooked, plan to run a few half marathons listening to this podcast

Hockey9966SmartCaught your interview with the one, and sadly only, David Remnick. If they are all this good, winner winner chicken dinner. You really hit all the right notes. I’ve heard too many podcast interviews that don’t say anything, or get at anything, with the same guests that cycle from podcast to podcast to podcast (maybe that’s on me). Your approach is refreshing: you’re funny at the right times, and you apparently enjoy having a conversation with someone that you either know a lot about, or took the time to learn a lot about. Keep it up. I’m excited to hear what you’ve done with people beyond David Remnick, which was so rewarding.
-
mindcentricUtterly Fantastic.Utterly Fantastic.
-
jayclarkreidMehMarginally Inside Baseball: host interviews famous people and they act coy. It’s pretty decent for Sunday morning
-
disgruntled meditatorNobody—Nobody Does it BetterI am consistently amazed (as obviously most of his guests are) at first, how deeply Sam prepares for each episode, but moreso how genuinely engaged and honest the resultant episodes are for that obviously loving preparation. Just keep it up, Sam.
-
QueenodnileI’m IntriguedWas searching for a very particular person of interest on Apple Podcasts and found Sam’s interview especially mesmerizing. So here I am.
-
Tu Vivians anonSam is the second coming of Charlie RoseAnd I mean that in the most flattering way :)
-
Bryan MitchellReal simple, Sam & Talk Easy are the best.I’m 56 years old, a former photojournalist who sat in on a lot of interviews. Many quite boring. Sam is never boring, sam is professional, personal & easy listening. He is the best. He makes me want to keep listening despite not knowing who the guest is and being unsure. I wish I was half as good a photographer as sam is at interviews & this podcast. Thanks Sam
