ZoemgeeHighly RepetitiveHighly, highly repetitive. Highly repetitive. Highly, highly, highly repetitive. Somewhere in there, is a decent podcast. But jesus.

Amazing!!! except....So much anticipation for little payoff.Love Payne and Up and Vanished, but this season was not it. They should've waited until they had all the information before releasing the episodes. So many "filler" episodes and repetitive audio. They would give you details out of order to seemingly try and make it more interesting, but it ended up just making it confusing and frankly annoying to listen to. I recommend either not listening at all or waiting until the last few episodes release.

fjrjiemdjdjmdFantastic!I completely disagree with the naysayers. No other true crime podcast is this captivating. Payne and his team do an excellent job of releasing episodes as quickly as possible while keeping up with a real time investigation. While I am not a true crime podcaster, I know I would totally flop attempting to organize and release all of the information in a logical way that doesn't hinder my investigation. Oh and all of this while still solving the case....So I say bravo. Keep up the amazing work!

TNP20Season 4.. my last.I was very confused with this season. While listening to episode 12, I realized I couldn’t actually recount any of the information I had been listening to! So, I started over- thinking I was just consuming the episodes and not paying attention. After episode 16.. I feel almost the same way. There are so many episodes, but I feel like we are barely getting any information. Plus the weird sound effects, repeating information and weird anecdotes... It felt like 4 episodes worth of actual information stretched over 16… I don’t know that I will ever listen to another.

JbohrerAddicting at firstProduction is great, the stories are great, but the investigating part… not so great. After the second or third episode Payne already knows who his suspect is and nothing will change his mind. This isn’t terrible by itself but then he proceeds to harass these people who already have unfortunate lives and airs their dirty laundry for the world to hear, including those close to them. I understand that’s the nature of investigative podcasts but it doesn’t sit right to me. It’s painful to listen to him trick someone into giving information then not even taking it seriously because it doesn’t line up with what he thinks.
-
Lauren330Somewhat annoyingI agree with the other reviewers about the voice changes. Also the sound of blocking out names was extremely annoying. Additionally, too many conversations with people on the phone; hard to hear and irritating
-
lscofInteresting but too longThere didn’t need to be a months long break in between, but it happened because the original investigation led nowhere and they had to make money from ad sales to get back and continue the investigation. I’ll finish it eventually, but the ads make it hard. I get having to make money, but half the episode is ads. I listened to the first half of the season in two days, but listening to the second half has been exhausting. Disappointing after a great start.

esk334First negative review ever- congrats Payne! No one loves Payne more than Payne. Yikes. Remember the guy that helped solve the Kristen Smart Case? …exactly. That’s how it should be. Not a congratulatory slog of filler content and self promotion
-
Nickname #idkMhI like this podcast but the voice changes are just so unnecessary but other than that this is a 10/10
-
leftshot18Overproduced, too much extraWeird sound effects, repeating interviews up to three times, teasing upcoming events instead of moving forward. Incredibly drawn out. Should be 10 episodes, not 16 (plus 13 “extra” behind the scene stuff). Feels like a cash grab at my expense. I won’t be back.
-
boston bausyJumped the sharkSeason 4 was absolutely terrible. I can’t believe how many episodes you squeezed out of the same material over and over again. So much ego and arrogance by Payne. Save yourself the frustration and time listening to this.

kyrajohGreat Investigative Reporting, Very RepetitiveThis really is a wonderful investigative reporting podcast, and I appreciate the effort and care that the host and producers put into telling the stories of the missing people they’re trying to find, most notably contextualizing the latest season with the incredibly high rate of missing Alaskan natives and the lack of effort and resources being used to bring these families peace and answers as well as find them. My only complaint would be how it’s edited. It’s VERY repetitive and sometimes I’ll think I’m listening to the same episode twice even though I’m on the next one. In future seasons, consider toning this down a bit and I think that could go a long way towards improving the podcast and making it easier to follow.
-
StoutflCould have been 4 episodesThe content is interesting but it could have been easily packed in to 4 episodes. Instead it dragged the audience through endless interviews and unnecessary text messages that added nothing to the story. Keep it short next time dude

Yeah Sure OK 123456789My desire to continue following this podcast……Has completely Up And Vanished. Prepare yourself for disappointment
-
shakycam3The Typing!!!My god the interviews toward the end where the PI is pounding on his keyboard are so goddamned annoying.
-
J howy 124What’s going on lolFeels weird that they’d portray this case as one they were solving in real time, just to end the season with repeated information and weird edits. Why give the families hope just to get caught up in interviews the pi did forever ago? Or if going to rely on those interviews so heavily why not interview the pi more? Just seemed like most of the season was filler which I don’t get for such an interesting case.
-
LujanskywalkerIt started off wellBut towards the lasts episodes is honestly really hard to listen and boring! They just play interviews with no real substance to it. The audio of some of this phone calls is awful. It feels really repetitive and never ending. Anyways, kinda disappointed because it really started off well. It seems like they ran out of content? What happened to the host? What a bummer.
-
Natstan03!!!!!! So annoying !!!!!I’m on the first episode of the first season- hopefully you’ve learned this already - but please stop calling women, girls- it’s sexist and disrespectful. We don’t call grown men, boys do we? No. Thank you.
-
pdxjordanGreat content but repetitive.Ugh why does each episode have to be so repetitive? Get ready to skip through 50% of each episode 😕
-
💙💧🦋🌹👍NomeI do hope the highlights of these podcasts comes to reveal or what it already reveals truths but justifying the situation doesn’t seem to surface as one would think it could have. One must do. One will prosper. Thnx for the podcast!
-
Micky19372So hard to listen to!The content is amazing but omg the sound quality of the interviews are so bad and honestly impossible to understand. There needs to be some serious editing and commentary so we can understand what they are even saying!
-
Jessblack88Hear me out……..Is Payne in rehab or something??? The last several months have been a pitiful attempt at recycling interviews and strategically splicing things in different orders. Last I heard from Payne his speech was slurred and rambling over the Airline issue. Seems like someone’s just buying time
-
Carly JoyuhhRepetitive content - unclear timingPayne is clearly very talented and dedicated but the repetitive content and interviews seemed like filler. It also wasn’t very clear when the various interviews were occurring. This made it hard to listen and keep track of what was going on.
-
GlantzAtLifePayne no longer caresI get the sense Payne just no longer cares. This podcast used to be so good and the simple truth is that it’s not anymore. What was once compelling reporting and moving insight has been replaced by repetitive rambling and constant ads. Frankly, it’s hard to even listen to at all. I’m sorry to say it, but Payne jumped the shark.
-
MMM!WWW!!Repetitiveness of facts and Interviews ruining otherwise GREAT workI hate that I have to say this, because Payne does INCREDIBLE work and I've been a fan of all his podcasts since the beginning, but ALL of his recent podcasts have become WAY too repetitive! I think most people look past it due to the great work y'all do, but now we've got entire episodes consisting of the same repetitive recaps only to lead to FULL interviews by the PI. So unbelievably boring. Had to stop listening which is a shame as the story itself is fantastic. Gotta get that ad $$$ 🙄
-
KF2ndWonderful, Sad and MovingThis podcast is so well done. Research, honest feelings, vivid descriptions! It moved me when feelings were shared. Raw and real. Solemnity.
-
June10:24ZDelaysI appreciate all the hardwork and putting himself out there. I guess I have to write “but” because there was little communications to listeners and dabs why there were such long delays. It appears that the podcast abruptly ended. I do hope everyone is ok.
-
knelly00Interview overloadThe story-telling and the investigative work is so good. It's captivating. And then there will be 2-3 episodes in a row of straight police interview recordings. It's so boring and repetitive, and surely they could have been clipped for relevance.

tnwellsLove the investigating but needs more editingThese are extremely interesting cases and Payne is kind and respectful of victims and their families. I am so glad he has decided to open up the topic of missing indigenous people (mostly women) and how unjustly they are being treated by the government and law enforcement. I love how the team is actually tracking people down and talking to them and not just internet sleuthing and then talking about it. I have listened to all 4 seasons and it’s top notch investigating, truly helping families of missing people who would have otherwise fallen through the cracks. I cannot help but mention however, how incredibly repetitive it is. My husband and I listened to season 4 together and we almost stopped listening at episode 7/8. I’m glad we didn’t stop because it picks up and gets way more interesting. But the repetition is just exhausting. So many of the interviews are repeated over and over. So many of the same clips you hear multiple times when it easily could have just been referred backed to or summarized. The same sentences again and again. And you’ll have 3 episodes in a row playing the same clips throughout and we are like ok we get it, you called him 11 times!! Some of the audio recordings are so hard to understand and some of it is just absolutely and completely unnecessary and we hear it so many times. Also, if there is going to be so much repetition then why have an elongated full four minute recap at the beginning of each episode?? Maybe a 30 second recap followed by, if you’re not up to date, listen to the previous episodes!! Love love love the investigating and all the dedication and hard work, but could we cut some of the constant restating of the same exact content? I would recommend but be prepared to wear out your skip ahead 30 second button. Thank you!

KwinlvMy Favorite PodI have been a fan from day one and love Payne’s attention to the family and adding a little bit of drama to the mix (in a positive light). He is relentless in his pursuit of the truth and I appreciate that. Love your crew too!
-
Cammy HeideggerToo much repeat contentLove this podcast but I found myself skipping through a lot of episodes that kept repeating interviews/information. Still a favorite though!
-
bbdaddaveGreat story……I think it’s fantastic that this story is being covered. I also believe it can be somewhat dangerous journalism. Many episodes of chapter two are spent discrediting or exposing gaps in some folks schedule. These boys lying, while seemingly important, doesn’t mean anything until you can prove what they WERE doing during the unaccounted for time. The perception the narrator is trying to create is quite obvious and also probably quite inconvenient locally for the three fellas who are telling the tall tales. Liar does not equal murderer. Other than that part, on both of the missing parties, there are interesting stories but after listening for hours, the resulting knowledge I have is quite the same as before I began listening. There are two missing people, very few details as to where they are or how they went missing, and no viable suspects. I hope the story concludes with true excitement, not just narrator generated excitement about a big break that just isn’t.

VL 73RivetingListening to Season 4 and binged the whole thing. The investigation is keeping me engaged and on the edge of my seat! Can't wait to see where it goes and truly hope that the families find some answers. Sounds like a place I would never want to go to. Bravo guys for all your hard work even in the face of of personal danger.
-
Bailey ⚡️Season 4I have loved this podcast since the beginning. Great investigative work and Paynes voice is so nice to listen to. I love all the work they do, and how well they care for victims and their families. I really hate to say anything negative but season 4 has been a lot of repeated content that at some points made me wonder if I accidentally was re listening to previous episodes. Overall love this podcast!
-
Emmmmmma1212Getting hard to listen toThe previous seasons were really good, but this season is basically long interviews with Payne making some sarcastic comments that don’t really make sense or add anything. It’s also super biased. Just tell the story, don’t add all this weird commentary that’s unnecessary
-
ksubsnCaptivatingInvestigative podcasting at its finest. Can’t wait for each and every episode.
-
Kyle Edward HowardHard to follow nowSeason 4 has become very hard to follow.
-
RebelRiotReviews crack me up!If you don’t like don’t listen, if a podcast did everything everyone would recommend someone would still be upset. These are stories of missing or murdered people, let’s not forget why you’re listening.
-
Mo426Couldn't stop listeningI began listening after the final episode was released and I'm so happy I did because usually I'm able to stop after a few episodes then pick up again another day however I got really sucked in in the last few and just kept going until it was done. Wonderful reporting and Payne is a great storyteller.

allnicknamesmatter2068471Land the Plane!Started with season 4. Doubtful I’ll listen to the rest of the seasons after this one. 17 episode in and we still aren’t done. The topic is great. And he’s opened up a Pandora’s box with the investigation, but the content of the pod is just awful. Repeating information 2-3 times…in great detail. Playing full interviews rather than a summation. Playing audio where you hear someone destroying a keyboard rather than the dialog is hugely distracting. A good editor is your friend.
-
Vanilla Sheet CakeLove this podcast! The loud typing on Andy’s interviews makes it really hard to listen to unfortunately!
-
Primrose Maggotgood story, needs editingThis is a very interesting story but there is so much repeated content that I’m disappointed almost every week. Payne could recap in like 20 seconds if it’s necessary, rather than playing repeated interviews over and over again. I also wish Payne’s commentary felt a little more natural rather than him reading and trying to make it sound like he’s speaking. Good overall and I know they’ve done a lot of admirable work for these cases, but I wish I didn’t have to wait so long for new episodes just for the same information played back again.
-
Connorj9000By far the best investigative podcast availableMost podcasts out there just discuss other people’s investigations. Payne actually investigates, and the podcast is being recorded in real time. It’s incredibly captivating, and he’s using the platform to make real, actual progress that helps the victim’s families. Lots of the other podcasters in true crime or investigative journalism make themselves the main character. Personally, I hate that. Payne gives all the respect and credit where it’s due and keeps the focus on the victims and the timeljne.
-
Bripearlno more full plays of audio clips plzi love this series. i will say Payne can come off a bit ego heavy at times but that has been said. Season 4 is a little messy in my opinion. the last two episodes have been playing full audio recordings that take up the entire episode and aren’t very interesting. feels slightly lazy especially when you wait the week and see a new episode and it doesnt land. great podcast
-
StarKateMcWhaat?!Truly disappointed the the most recent episode is subscription only. I have been waiting all week to find out what is happening. My heart goes out to the victims and their loved ones. I pray for justice and peace for you all. Thank you Mr. Lindsey for your dedication and hard work in helping these families. I wish you all the very best. Never give up. Have faith and lean on Him always.

JessaLuListening to the + edition and still getting ads. What a waste of $35. I’ve cleared my queue, restarted the app. Closed the app and restarted the phone. Still…ads. Yes, it says it’s the + edition in the episode artwork.

Sidd69Losing InterestSeasons 1 and 2 were amazing. These long breaks, with behind the scenes episodes are exhausting. Impossible to keep interest. Would be nice to get updates about when real episodes will come out. I understand things happen and interrupt the flow, but would be nice to know what to expect. To add, when new episodes do come out, they’re just replaying parts of other episodes, with no new information. Seems lazy. This isn’t storytelling. If you need more time, just take the time. Very disappointing and seems like a waste of listeners’ time.
-
MM2822Not worth the listenSo many interviews played and then replayed in their entirety without any commentary. Started out interesting and then became frustrating and hard to listen to. Needs serious editing
-
Lannik06Become boring, obnoxious typing sound constantlyAll this podcast has become is listening to this private investigator pound away at his keyboard while interviewing these guys. There seems to be very little direction anymore it’s become so boring and drawn out the last few episodes. I can’t even finish them anymore.
-
quirkishSeason 2- terrible sound quality!I could not stop listening to season 1 and was excited for season 2- but dude, all of those interviews with terrible sound quality was just too much! I could not hear or understand most of them and had to give up. If you can re-mix season 2 for sound- especially the phone calls, I would be all in!
