Great podcast and Spanishland podcast too!
I have been learning Spanish with Duolingo for three years, but have found it hard to find resources to expand my “real” Spanish language comprehension. I first found Españolistos and found that the conversations were interesting and at the level I needed. However, I found that I really needed extra help with grammar, expressions, and tips to reinforce what I was learning. I found that the Spanishland podcasts with Andrea were great too. The free download pdfs are fantastic as well. Also, listening at 0.75 speed is very helpful. I sometimes slow it down and then re-listen to it at normal speed. The podcasts available from SpanishlandLandSchool.com are great resources. I highly recommend to add to whatever you are using to increase your comprehension. I appreciate the effort into the quality of the podcasts.

    Advance your Spanish quickly
Espanolistos is an amazing podcast (including a newsletter and videos) that has helped me advance my Spanish quickly. It’s free but I’m also taking advantage of their other course offerings like a Spanish book club. Their team of teachers are very professional and fun.

Este es mi podcast favorito en español. Me encanta la interacción entre Andrea y Nate. Aprenderás mucho. No es aburrido como otros podcasts. Y todo está en español, que es mi parte favorita.

    A great podcast!
I always look forward to listening to this podcast. Andrea has a warm and bubbly personality which encourages me as I learn. I also appreciate how good natured Nate is. He’s such a good sport! And when I hear him make mistakes in his Spanish, it helps to ease some of the tension I feel as I attempt to speak Spanish. You guys are amazing! Keep up the good work!

Don’t Miss It! ¡No te lo pierdas!

    Best Spanish learning app!
I have listened to 5 Spanish-learning podcasts over recent years and Espanolistos is by far the best. In 3 months I’ve listened to at least 50 of their more than 400 past episodes and learned a lot about grammar and conversational skills. They also provide transcripts of the episodes, a huge help for studying grammar. I love the interaction between Andre and Nate. She is a kind coach for Nate, who is a good sport when Andrea corrects his occasional error. ¡Me encanta este podcast!

100% the best podcast out there
Where to even begin…Españolistos is amazing! This is the best resource I have come across in my Spanish journey. To make an entertaining podcast in Spanish is very different than TEACHING Spanish well in a podcast…and Españolistos is the rare one that accomplishes both perfectly. Andrea is an exceptional teacher who clearly has a passion for wanting to help others learn REAL Spanish. And Nate is awesome (thanks on behalf of all the gringos and gringas trying to learn this beautiful language alongside you). I’d highly recommend their Parcero membership as well. In two months my Spanish has improved more than in the past year, and it’s exciting to see my fluency grow in real time. If I had any feedback, I’d say I’d love to hear more interviews! It’s very helpful to hear different voices interacting and to see how a natural, spontaneous exchange happens. The ones with native Spanish speakers are great, as well as the ones with learners. I actually really love the ones with Parceros as guests because I can hear them trying to “translate” what they want to say from English into Spanish, and then Andrea correcting with the more natural way to say it. It’s great because most of the time the “translating it literally from English way” is how I would say it (incorrectly), and then I get to hear Andrea guide the guest through how to correct it. Super helpful to catch and fix bad habits! Maybe find some Parceros with cool jobs or interesting stories and do interview episodes with them…that’d be fun. Thanks Andrea and Nate for all your hard work! Saludos, Taelor

Took my Spanish to the next level
I have studied Spanish off and on for 20 years and while I gained a good grasp on understanding the grammar, I never could get to the point at being good at actually understanding Spanish speakers. I’ve listened to every episode (421) in roughly 7 months, and it has made all the difference for me. I’m now much more confident in conversations and have gotten so much better and comprehending spoken Spanish. It has been so fun to listen to Nate and Andrea’s journey, and they now feel like my friends! Thank you so much for all of your help! I wish them all the best!

    Great for all Levels
I love Españolístos because it’s so entertaining and I always learn something new! Thank you Nate and Andrea!

    Perfect Podcast for Me!
I am reaching B1 level of Spanish mainly via Duolingo after not working on my Spanish for 35 years. I so enjoy this podcast. I find it easy to understand, the transcripts after Episode 20 are great, topics are relevant and interesting. But the best is just listening to Andrea and Nate talking and interacting with each other. It’s an endearing story. Knowing Nate figured out and is still growing his own language journey (as of episode 21) motivates me to keep at it. And I also love all the South American travel suggestions and tips thus far. Gracias Nate and Andrea! - Joanna (54), Minnesota

    Easy to Follow Along
I love the combination of both Andrea and Nate because of their different speaking levels. Nate speaks fluently but he’s still improving just like us. He will occasionally make a common error when speaking and Andrea corrects the error. This helps me learn from his mistakes and reinforce what I know. I’m sure as he continues to improve that won’t be the case forever. I especially like when she quizzes him on translation. It gives both him and the listener a chance to respond with a correct answer. It’s engaging!

    Very helpful podcast
I just listened to episode 270 and found it very helpful. Particularly it was helpful hearing Andrea correct Nate’s mistakes, as I could relate to making the same mistakes and it was awesome to have those mistakes highlighted. I am excited to continue listening and want to thank you guys for putting out such a great podcast. Seth

    Awesome
I am a 60 something year old beginner who found this podcast. I listen to an episode everyday while walking my dog. Although this is much more advanced than my level, I still listen to it to train my ears. I use the transcript to fully understand the translation and learn the grammar, the usage of words and phrases. Nate is obviously not a native speaker and is still learning but he is an inspiration for others, myself included. I hope I can become half as fluent as he is someday. Keep up the interesting topics and continue doing the good work.

    So genuine, so helpful!
This podcast has really helped progress my Spanish. I’ve found each episode to spoken clearly and not too fast, topics are really interesting, especially about travel and life in Columbia or learning about important places and people, and there have been some really fun conversations and heartwarming moments that inspire me to be able to take feedback better like Nate does so well and work with my wife. Really genuine and I'm very grateful for the whole team! Thank you!

    Great Learning Tool!
I am trying to improve my listening skills and have been using this podcast and then I donated so I could get the transcripts. I put the speed on .75 and I am fine. They have great conversational styles and they are of the length that you can really learn. Add it to your podcast feed!

    Engaging & Educational
I discovered this podcast a few months ago and have been hooked since. I find the topics informative and engaging, plus both Nate and Andrea keep the energy level upbeat. I have a lot of respect for Nate as he’s willing to make the mistakes that we all make so we can learn as Andrea gently corrects him. Congratulations to Nate & Andrea on the new addition to their family too!

    Great conversational Spanish course
I have enjoyed listening to Andrea and Nate for several years. They represent a perfect mix of topics and education, Andrea is an excellent language teacher and Nate, as an English speaking Spanish learner helps to facilitate understanding as they both navigate the issues of intermediate Spanish learning students. They have a great relationship and their interest in helping me speak Spanish better, as an intermediate Spanish learner, is very evident. I highly recommend their podcast.

    Educational and fun!
I have listened to the first 200 Episodes, only another 205 to go! Andrea is an excellent Spanish teacher with a neutral and easy to understand accent. Nate is funny and has no problems making the odd mistake that Andrea is happy to use an example and help correct him. Fun couple, easy listening and interesting topics, thoroughly recommended.

    Excellent podcast
I enjoy listening to this podcast to refresh my speaking and thinking fluency in Spanish. It is a good mental exercise while driving and all of the input is comprehensible. Excellent material for anyone wanting to improve their Spanish and grammar instruction is at the highest levels.

    Really Helpful
I’m semi-fluent in Spanish as my second language trying to move to the next level. Espanolistos has been extremely helpful to me. It has helped to clean up my Spanish grammar as well as Spanish phrases that sound more like what a native would say in situations where I might be inclined to say something more literal but awkward.

    Better late than never
I found this podcast after trying several others. I really love this podcast. It’s my favorite and really helpful. It’s perfect for an intermediate learner. I’ve loved hearing Nate’s progress. I’ve listened to the first 2 years of recordings over the last few months. I think Andrea, Nate and their guests are terrific and I enjoy the wide variety of topics. I still have 6 years of podcasts to listen to and I really hope the next 300 podcasts are as great as the first 100. Thanks for sharing and maybe I’ll hear my review when I reach the 2024 episodes :)

    So helpful!!

Entertaining and Educational at the Same Time
I’ve been listening to Andrea and Nate for nearly a year now. They are a large part of my comprehensible input method of learning the language in addition to my grammar lessons which interestingly enough also include their most excellent online Spanishland School which has enough content to keep you busy for years. The episodes are well thought out and learning Spanish along side Nate is very entertaining and enjoyable. Andrea is an extremely talented teacher and she really seems to enjoy herself. If you haven’t yet, I highly recommend that you add this podcast to your Spanish studies and while you’re at it visit Spanishland School and consider becoming a student there.

    My main Spanish immersion opportunity😊
Hola todos😊! I started listening to Espanolistos for 2 years now😊 and love it. It is my main Spanish immersion opportunity. I listen to it while driving or cooking. I started learning Spanish by listening to songs and then I discovered Duolingo. These 2 methods helped me with vocabularies but only Espanolistos gives me the real conversations with real people talking about daily situations😊. No matter what your method is for learning Spanish, Espanolistos is the immersion you need. And if you're a beginner, listening to Espanolistos will skyrocket your Spanish skills😊. Spanish is my 4rth language and Andrea and Nate keeps me motivated to learn more😌. Thank you Andrea and Nate for the wonderful conversations.

    Listen to this one!
I love the format, it is perfect for intermediate level. I can understand it and I have learned so much already. It’s great for when I’m at the gym or just doing housework.

    Excellent for advanced learners!
I’ve been listening to the podcast for about three months now after using Pimsleur and it is there great way to continue learning more complex, Spanish as well as more common phrases in words. I travel to Columbia six times a year and each time that I return the locals notice a difference.!
  • drlorimom
    Clear & upbeat
The conversations are clear and easy to understand (especially if you follow along with the transcriptions, which are available for nearly all of the podcasts); yet difficult enough that the intermediate Spanish learner is constantly challenged. Andrea and Nate cover a variety of topics in a light, yet focussed, fashion. Additional courses are offered for a fee, but they are not pushy...my sense is that the Españolistos team is happy to help if you choose to pursue further, more personalized instruction.
  • Señora S
    Less grammar and more conversations
I really enjoy listening to your show whenever you have conversations or tell stories but I’m not a fan of the grammar episodes. Are you guys familiar with the principles of second language acquisition? If you are not I highly recommend you read Stephen Krashen. Again, this is not a negative review but an encouragement to focus on natural communication about content without nitpicking everything Nate says.
  • BilingualGringo
I use it for my Spanish class!
A wonderful podcast with very clear Spanish, and a fun dynamic between Nate and Andrea. Thank you so much. I recommended it to all my Spanish students.
  • DimitriKisov
Great for getting your Spanish to the next level
I have been listening ever since a friend recommended this podcast. I love Andrea’s Spanish—she’s very easy to understand. And Nate’s (frequent) errors are relatable and fun; it’s nice to know that I’m not the only one who struggles with some of these mistakes! I highly recommend this podcast for intermediate Spanish learners, or even advanced beginners.
