AmaFelbsPlease come back!I am missing your awesome podcast! I hope all is well with you.

@Ram5eyIt grows on youI canāt remember what episode I listened to first but I didnāt think I would listen to many more (I probably just picked the wrong first one). However I gave it another chance and quickly found myself binging through the back catalog and really enjoy it. It did lose a little something without Steve but I still find the topics really useful and it is obvious chris has a great deal of coaching knowledge and passion for the sport all around. Totally worth giving a shot if you are into distance running.

Jerrym2007The best running podcastI started back into running at age 60 after many years of on and off running hampered by recurring injuries. I have listened to a dozen other running podcasts (and some are very good) but have found Chris to be the clearest instructor on the sport . I have learned so much and now have run 2 half marathons (my first in 40 years) - both under 2 hours. Give it a listen if you want to get serious into running.

HelmutVonKaiserSchmudtEvery episode is my favoriteI have a really big problem with this podcast, itās too good! More episodes than not are worth listening to two or three times. Iāve been a high performing endurance athlete for more than twenty years and still learn tons every episode.
-
Running Girl46good show!!I listen to Chris almost every night. Discovered the podcast two months ago. Informative, practical and I have learned a lot! My only critique isā why is this Nicole Winters person on there? I find very little about her helpful and I checked out her instagram page and was very unimpressed. Seemed more like a looks thing than anything else which I hope any serious female athlete would move away from. So not sure why she keeps appearing on here other than a large follower base and maybe to bring more traffic to Chris? I really respect Chris and the other rogue coaches he brings on. But I do feel very disappointed with this Nicole person. I tend to skip the episodes with her (why must women speak in a vapid voice? Why?!!)

dear runningSo much to chew on!Wow ~ Brilliant, honest insight. So practical. So many take aways from each & every podcast. This one, #326, Iāll be listening to again, knowing there will be more to gain and improve the mental aspect of my running. Thank you!

Peggy LoveChris Continues to DeliverChris continues to deliver excellent content. I always learn from this podcast. Lessons about running, but also lessons about life. This podcast has made me a better runner! Thanks Chris and keep up the good work!
-
Run831Excellent PodcastIāve just started running again after long medical treatment and major surgery to correct rare condition. Did my first half and full marathon under doctorās guidance and pace limitations, and as an excited runner have devoured the internet for information regarding training and gearš I tried a simple basic and easy plan for my training and find your podcast among the best! Your training principles are excellent and very applicable to all levels of runners! Your suggestions make sense for my goals in running for enjoyment and for seeking improvement. Even for an older runner like myself just seeking self improvement, I find your training principles are applicable and definitely working for me! Thank you for putting out an excellent podcast! Aloha! Alan

BDonWhiteHelpful and interestingThis podcast provides useful & thoughtful information for runners. Can get a little dry at times, but worth a listen as info. is well-researched and thorough. One issue if you are sound-sensitive, host has habit of smacking lips at end of sentences which can be quite distracting and potentially annoying over time.

KimRunzHelpful, informative, interesting!Chris does a tremendous job with this podcast. Letās be honest - the weekly topic of running could get very stale, but not here. He does a great job of keeping each episode very enjoyable with relatable tips that you can really apply to your own running. I love when he mixes in current events in the running world and provides his perspective. My favorite episodes are when he previews big races and offers tips - these have been super helpful in the past. Also love Chrisā smooth, soothing voice. A great listen and recommended for all runners!
-
Running48soonVery relatableThank you! Episode 302 really hit home. I appreciate you listening to her running journey and digging into realistic ways to accomplish a big goal. Lots to take away from this episode. I always find your podcast very helpful and this one, definitely got an A+ from me! Keep up the great podcast! Patty

Jane476The Best Running PodcastI've been listening to Chris since 2018. He transformed my running because I hung onto every word and little by little put into practice everything he was saying which ultimately allowed me to qualify for Boston. This also led me to join his podcast training group in 2020. He's a big reason I decided to become a running coach and create my YouTube channel, Running With Jane, so I could help others like he helped me. Thanks for an awesome podcast through the years...much appreciated!

AlchaMEGreat podcastStarted training for half marathon this podcast is very helpful and very informative. I am so thankful I found this podcast.

TJCRunsThe Best Podcast About Marathon RunningI started my marathon training journey earlier this summer en route to the Marine Corps Marathon in October (my first). I have listened to many run-related podcasts but Chrisās podcast is by far the best. Why? First of all, his content is far-reaching, in depth and always helpful. Any time I wonder āDoes Rogue have a podcast on this topicā, they almost always do (sometimes more than one). I have many favorites but āThe Church of the Long Runā is at the top of my long list. Second, Chris is willing to share with you what you need to know, not just what you want to hear. Training for a marathon is hard and success requires a lot of big and little steps, many of which can be challenging. Although you might want to hear about āhacksā to running success he opens your mind and soul to the long-term adventure and goal building that running offers. Third, Chris is really easy to listen to when running. He mentioned on one podcast that a running mantra he used for one race was āRun Like Butterā. Well his voice and well organized presentations (with helpful recaps only the way) are smooth on the mind and listening capacity as your brain gets a little foggy on those long runs. Finally, a lot of running podcasts are a little generic in quality. They cover important running topics to be sure but not at the level of depth and analysis that Chris does. He feels like the coach, or the little angel on your shoulder, when you listen to him. If you have time or desire to listen to just one running podcast, this is the one you should listen to. After the MCM, I going to find out how to train with Rogue Running for my future running adventures.

RunningfromweatheeWhen can we read your book?!Chris, your experience, wisdom and perspective as a coach and runner is so valuable and helpful to me as a 37 yo mom of two who still wants to get faster and do big things. Thanks for sharing so much for free! You really should write a book about running and longevity. š

Gio CalandraTakes running knowledge and depth to another levelAs a recreational but competitive runner Iāve loved listening to Chris on his coaching and running experiences. Iāve learned a lot of new concepts I had never heard of. Keep up the amazing job!
-
D CosterThe best running podcast out thereChris does such a good job of addressing all aspects of long distance training and racing
-
DougshipItās great- and an acquired tasteI live this podcast- substantive, specific, always seems to touch on topics when Iām thinking about them either because time of year or time of season It takes an episode or two in order to get the rhythm of a single voice just talking- but once you get the flow you wonāt be disappointed.
-
DismisserAustin MarathonI opened my podcasts app specifically to find something about mental toughness for a marathon, and EVEN BETTER this episode has pacing and mental tips for my EXACT marathon (and it was already downloaded to my phone)! Exactly what I needed!
-
kwkngBest running podcast!Long time listener, first time reviewer. This podcast has changed my running! It is the only podcast I listen to regularly and have listened to every episode at least once. If you want to improve your endurance running and training, I would highly recommend this podcast!
-
jimmyjams&frimmyframsJust what I neededIām a sporadic listener since 2020. The main reason I am inconsistent is because my personal running journey. Every time when I get back on the wagon, this podcast revives and rebuilds my running spirit! One of the greatest coaches for my life and I will more than likely come face to face with Chris. Thank you!
-
CJT322Such an awesome showIām an aging middle of the packer, working mom of many, with personal goals and a love for the sport. I adore Chrisā accepting attitude about all paces but still maintains such a high quality, deeply substantive show. I listen to tons of running podcasts. I adore this show. I sometimes go back and listen to old shows to reground myself. So good! Thank you for all you do!
-
fipperAwesome, deeply thoughtful, well roundedGreat podcast. Chris offers deep, thoughtful reflections about running and training. Running impacts so many aspects of our lives and psyche. I really appreciate how he brings a discussions of race into the conversations. No runner is an island. We are in a community, the bigger, broader the community the better for all of us.
-
Liz SoCalExcellent informationnKeep doing what you're doing. A lot of value here. Speak the truth and hopefully society (and hellfighter6) will catch up.
-
jlpdxGreat resource for self coachedChris provides great insights and examples. This show helps me understand a lot of training concepts and helps keep me motivated.
-
Hellfighter6Informative, butā¦.,Good information and perspective however the host seems concerned with being perceived as being woke. His self promotions to this end are awkward at times and cast a shadow on the overall content.
-
Lanetrain11Great showThis is a great show When is the next episode going to be

Dr Laura FredWorth listening to on repeatāso much useful content.Iāve been running for 16 years (started at age 50) and thought I was done improving. I started listening to this podcast this summer and have been going through previous episodes (and reviewing some of them numerous times). Putting Chrisās wisdom into practice helped me dust off the rust and get back into racing this summer and fall. His race planning episode set me up to have two consecutive half marathon prs for the season. The mental rehearsal was extremely useful and psychologically sound. Take his advice in training to ārun slow to go fast.ā Lose the ego. Take time to make incremental changes. And build a big aerobic engine. And the strides. Do the strides 2x a week. Iāve learned SO much. Thank you, Chris. It was also great to meet you in Atlanta at the running with Kara Goucher event at the Marathon Trials in 2020. Clean Sport advocates know how to train smart and reach our long term potential. Iām all ears at this point!
-
Will8019Really enjoyed Coach HudsonHe would be a great co-host! Chris your always great! I recommend this podcast to all my running friends.
-
Hilla99Coach HudsonLoved episode 167!! Coach confirmed a bunch of my beliefs. I liked that he addressed the different approaches that are necessary for masters runners!! Thank you.
-
NotacricetWas better back in the dayWay to much focus on drugs and your love for a few random woman in running isnāt authentic. Plenty of the runners and coaches you celebrate are just as guilty as the people you despise?
-
RunJDRun!Dull and boringWith a cohost, this podcast was bearable. Itās now become dull and slow. Some good topics, but itās just so dry that I canāt listen anymore. I wish that were not the case, but until this podcast is injected with some life, even adding things like an intro with music would help slightly. But I really do think that a lively cohost would help rejuvenate this one. We need a little banter and someone who is a little more exciting to listen to. With some changes like these, Iāll be back.
-
troutzilla1Very slowUnfortunately I had to unsubscribe to this pod that I once enjoyed a lot. Ever since the lost of the co host this pod has turned into a real snoozer. Very sad that itās not more lively, as it once was!
-
Eowyn99Too much pseudoscienceI like the podcast until he said: āI donāt care what the science says...ā. Well, science is about facts, not feelings. Is so frustrating because is so difficult to find podcasts based on facts about running.
-
RecyclesaurusSolid running podcastI really enjoy this podcast. It is perfect for any running nerd that enjoys delving deeper into the sport. I do miss Steve Sisson. He played a good foil for Chris on topics. Revision: Chris has recently become too focused on people and trends he does not like in the sport. Without any foil to the droning of pessimism I can no longer listen.
-
tickedoffrunnerOnly listening if I canāt sleep before a long runI used to listen to this podcast all the time, but the absence of a co-host has made the show a real snoozer. This podcast needs a new co-host and should move the doping conversations to Chrisās Clean Sport Collective show where Kara can keep things on track and be an effective foil for Chris.
-
CapnC425Great running info, but too much personal bias at timesBeen listening to this podcast for quite some time and have gained tons of useful information on training, race strategy, etc. However, since Steve left Iāve found that there has been a much bigger focus on personal thoughts and allegations on drugs in the sport. I would rather these personal thoughts be left aside and the focus be on training, current events, interviews, etc
-
mhoatBest running podcastThank you for your honest talk about running, and dopers. You arenāt being negative, it needs to be said.
-
WelshinAmericaWhatās the point?Whatās the point of having a slow runner near walker on the same pod as an Olympic qualifier and pretend they are the same ? I see you had the chief walker on your show again. āRunningā is a sport. Walking fast is not. Being proud of walking fast is embarrassing. If youāre any good, interview people who have progressed proportionally, not just your friends. Anyone can do that
-
Mississippi shopperThe Best Running PodcastI have tried and enjoyed many running podcasts but this one is by far my the best. I started listening for the coaching tips (which are excellent) but have also really enjoyed the running news intros and interviews. Thanks Chris!
-
katersullyBonus CoachesI feel like I have two extra coaches with Chris (and Steve, who I still miss)! Iāll never stand on a starting line for a goal race again without reminding myself that Iām āpresent and correct.ā The insights that the pod offers for physical and mental training are invaluable, the interviews with pros have made me a true fan of the sport, and Chris is a wonderful, welcoming host whoās created a real community.
-
Marci.KirkLove their real talk about all things running! This is an amazing podcast that has made me a true fan of the sport! They have introduced me to so many different aspects of running from my own training to what is happening on the professional level. I love how real they are with any topic that is covered. Through their podcast, I was also able to find a running coach in their program which has been amazing to practice what I hear on their episodes. I always look forward to what is next and anxiously await their recaps from big races! I also LOVE how they incorporate 'non elite' runners and elite runners. Not every running podcast does that and I truly TRULY enjoy it. I would argue that we often need more 'every day runners' I love hearing that what I'm going through is the same as others. I also love hearing from the pros and the fact that they to go through what we do, just at faster paces.
-
nick garzaBecoming a better runnerThe Running Rogue podcast transformed me from a hobby jogger that had no idea what I was doing to a faster and stronger runner. They go into deep dives on the fundamentals as well as more nuanced topics for training. Their advice gains authenticity through coaching experience, research in the field, and perspectives from multiple elite runners. Iāve listened to many running podcasts, and this one truly stands above the rest.
-
BQBeckyBest Running PodcastI love this podcast. Informative, inspiring, funny, thought-provoking and full of practical info. I loved the most recent format with the question and answer format. And I love the variety of the runners and writers you interview! From every day people to fast women and men to ultra champions. Also, not gonna lie I think it's better now than it was with the two hosts :) I have listened to a bunch of different running podcasts and this one is hands down my favorite.
-
HookemhoganBest out thereThis podcast has played a big role in making running a bigger part of my life. The running principles espoused have improved my training and performance and kept my interest fresh. Iāve developed a huge interest in track and field as a sport, rooting for people whose name meant nothing to me a year ago when I started listening. I hear new and fresh ideas and perspectives regularly (even if I donāt always agree with them) Most importantly to me hearing how the struggles, the triumphs, the ups and downs of elite level athletes actually mirrors my own experience (minus the elite label š) really makes me love running more. Canāt recommend enough.
-
Lilhunny888Used to listen to it moreStill a great podcast, I just don't listen to it as often as I did. Current events/news in the track and field world is still my favorite part. I miss having Steve as co-host and thought it was odd that he was there one podcast and gone the next, without much talk of why he left. On a side note, sometimes I hear odd background noises, like someone is emptying a dishwasher of metal plates. Maybe it's just some audio feedback in the podcasting equipment.
-
robmullen262On the declineDefinitely not enjoying this as much since Steve left. I started listening from the beginning and was hooked, then skipped ahead to get Chrisā and Steveās takes on current events leading up to Boston 2019, only to be disappointed to find out that Steve was no longer around. Iāve had a hard time with most of the 2019 episodesāsome of the interviews are solid, but this podcast is definitely missing a lot without another host to balance out Chris. Hope to see that change.
-
TrapsbrahNot just for top notch elites.Iām just a common guy who likes to jog a title and lift weights. You donāt have to be a competitive runner to enjoy this show. If you just want to hear some grit and determination, start at episode 120, where a woman tells her story of the quest to get a BQ! Riveting! We can all learn important things about running with this show (how to lay back and make the easy miles easy), as we hear how coaches themselves need coaches.
