Cliffsonly1Great podcastListened to you from the beginning and it’s great seeing how you have grown. Your passion for your sisters story is so respectable.

Tango843Best podcast everThis podcast is so well done. Mr Allore is sincere and his work is intelligent, cohesive and tinged with a wry sense of humor. It is obviously very personal to him and he puts great care in choosing his subject matter. The music selections are outstanding and I frequently wonder who the artists are. It is thought provoking and does not talk down to the listener. Truly my favorite podcast by far.

Jamie NoelleHow do I find the start of the series, season one episode 1I am only finding other cases not the episodes about Theresa?

Mia.11So Dull I Nearly CriedI just could not get through half of an episode. I tried. But time is too precious to listen to a podcast that is the equivalent of nails on a chalkboard. It is like listening to an extremely boring grandpa who took Adderall and was talking about something that only he finds interesting. He starts a sentence and it never ends. Literally. I do not think he even knows where it is going. He goes off on tangents and you cannot remember how it started or what the point is. And worst of all is his aaahs and ummms. I could not listen for another second. FFS Mr. Narrator, this is a podcast. You can have a script. You can prepare. But you cannot wing it and improvise as you go. Nope. I am out.

LydianalaModeBeautiful ode to his murdered sister (her case is unsolved)This is a five star indie podcast crafted with such love and dignity; it is an absolute labor of both the love and the deepest pain from the brother of a sister whose young life was robbed from her in the brightness of her youth by the selfish and cruel act of one perp who treated Theresa like an animal, or rather a doll, to violate and discard. The perp has never been caught, and the far-reaching ripples from his violent act decades ago surge through the lives of thousands in the 21st century — friends lost and new friends never made, beautiful children never born to a woman who would have adored them, husbands never married, grandchildren never cherished and never able to cherish in return, Christmases lost in silent reveries as one chair forever remains empty at the dinner table, dresses and dances and joyfully earned degrees and great accomplishments — proud smiles and sumptuous academic robes — never materialized. Your sister DESERVES JUSTICE!!! Dear John: I think I’ve heard just about every true crime podcast once (at least one full episode), and my top faves tend to feature the experts like Paul Holes (“Murder Squad”) but nothing is as important or as moving as a family member like yourself challenging the powers that be to finally, at very long last, find *some* justice for your loved one. See Bill of the Colonial Parkway case, also see the young yet ferocious Sarah Tunney as she has taken on the burden of her missing sister’s case on her young and incredibly brave soldiers. Reach out for that community — you will find it, and the loneliness might ache just a bit less. Just my thoughts... Your sister is all of us — i was her in her youthful excitement as life started to begin for her. Also you write beautifully, and as a literature professor I don’t bestow such honors lightly. Just another thought, have you perhaps contacted the Dark Poutine gentlemen, or Mr. Bonaparte of the Nighttime podcast? They are all Canadians, and I think you men could offer e great deal to each other as you all have different strengths, and I would LOVE if You should team up with the Dark Poutine guys occasionally! Your podcast is fascinating. I wanted to post quickly as I just listened to your latest episode. I am a medievalist by training (Ph. D., university professor, I work on the English late Middle Ages and the Renaissance). “Nostalgia” thrived in the Middle Ages as well as in “modernity.” For example the medievals always thought of the Arthurian court (or the Otherworld) as located in some other “better” time and space.

Suppercatscratch747I can’t Do itI tried but the way the host speaks is too distracting. At one point there was music at the same time he was giving details about the case and I couldn’t hear. I like the stories but not the way they’re being told. It’s unfortunate because I think I would have been a binger if it was narrated in a different style. Good luck

NullitySeems like a nice guy but ...... I just can’t get through it. It’s just so dry, I’m sorry. Stopped on ep 12.

Sea JewelsTop-notch podcast for discerning listenersJust getting started, already fascinated and impressed. John Allore is so thoughtful and intelligent (and has a great voice to listen to). I appreciate the serious approach, no chit-chat or jokes. The stories are interesting.

sheri ElmoreDissatisfiedI’m struggling to get thru this. The sound is terrible. The loud lip noises, the stumbling on words. I can’t do it. Sorry

noodlepiesBravo to you truly a good manYou John are absolutely an inspiring man. I love how real you are. It’s not just about justice for your sister and these other poor women but also about trying to change laws in Canada as well as bringing light to just how freaking horrible the police are there. Destroying evidence in rape cases are bad enough but murders truly heartbreaking. I don’t travel much and you’ve made me positive than Canada is not going to be on my very short list.
-
VistachicaAuthentic and engagingI appreciate the fact that the podcaster just takes on the whole podcasting as something he admits to being unfamiliar with and puts himself out there. The story is interesting and the listener can tell he cares. Nowadays, it seems like there are critics who want this media to be a radio broadcast and other podcasters trying way too hard to sound unpolished after freaking years. Me? I like a good story - and that is what this is.
-
carrtoons213MesmerizingNot only is his voice mesmerizing, but the way he tells these stories, captured my attention immediately and this podcast has become my favorite! It’s very apparent that each story is well researched and whenever possible includes family members or others involved to help tell the tale. Definitely worth every minute of my time and attention!
-
Joon&JoolsVery detailed and interestingI find this podcast very interesting and the narrator is quite thorough in his research. I have also gone to his website to look at the photographs and maps that go with each episode. If you do not like this kind of detail and just want a broad overview of the cases then this would not be for you. As a detail-oriented person I appreciate it.
-
KieraZGritty and AuthenticI’ve been a follower since the very first episode. If you are looking for a “murdered white woman” podcast in which a victim is dissected from an emotional distance as entertainment, this isn’t for you. The presenter is a real person, really sharing his investigation into his sister’s death and the mistakes made by those tasked with finding her killer. He succeeds where others often fail: showing the pain and the hard work faced by families keeping this cold cases alive.

Dtnt0612Kudos and God blessI am writing this to give this case more exposure and to congratulate Mr. Allore on taking his time and energy to create this in an effort to bring his sister justice. I am appalled by the low reviews commenting on his microphone or style. This is a grieving person looking for answers and justice for his family member. If you want flash and style while listening to someone else’s tragedy, then move along. There are many others making beautifully presented podcasts to exploit someone’s murder for their own gain. I am proud of this man and his efforts and will try to raise the profile of this podcast to bring Theresa justice. God bless.

Secretfox74Refreshingly honestThis is a breath of fresh air for a podcast enthusiast such as myself. I find John’s approach to be honest and rather enjoy the lack of formula formatting. Who Killed Theresa reminds me of free format radio, creaking chair and cat meows not withstanding. John is a man hoping to find answers to the murder of his sister Theresa and bring attention to corruption and the sheer lack of culpability found in Canadian policing agencies. I appreciate this podcast and look forward to each new episode.

8HeidlesHidden gemThank you for some fantastic interviews.Lots of intelligent critical analysis I don’t hear on any other related podcast. Bravo and may you in time gain some helpful insight enclosure into your sisters tragic case. All my love and respect to your family

Sb116HuhJust tuning in-- this guy is great and he's talking about a murder by someone he knew inthe past few days. He hits it with such a good voice and level of detail that makes me want to go back to the beginning. Good stuff with a deceptively limited title.

Wedil2002Absolutely well researched !I am currently subscribed to 70 plus podcasts. My genre is true crime, missing persons, unsolved mysteries etc. This podcast takes the listener on a journey of research, geoprofiling, feet on the ground grinding. John is on a search for answers to his sister's death. Done like no other podcasts you really get to understand the hard work involved in a cold case. He's very analytical and thorough. I am absolutely delighed to listen to his podcast. Hopefully he finds the answers he is looking for.

ZabstaffSorry but this is just painful.I'm so sorry about your loss. But just listening to one dude talk at me for an hour is not pleasant.

NicolexamyNo thanksJohn is someone who begs for feedback but doesn't actually want to be bothered.

Sapphira80A Poignant Look into Canadian CrimeFor those that aren't aware, this podcast, about the murder of Theresa Allore, is authored by her brother John. In it, he documents his own investigation into her death (and the subsequent discovery of dozens of similar crimes in the area). He is not a professional podcaster, and I think that's why I enjoy this show so much. It's not slick and scripted, there are no sound effects or dramatic music, and he says everything in a natural, conversational tone. He's interviewed several people work unique perspectives on crime, which I found interesting. If you're looking for a copy of Serial, there are plenty of those out there--this is not one. Who Killed Theresa? is a heartfelt declaration of a brother who wants to bring awareness to the murders of his sister and other women of Quebec, which have been criminally overlooked by the public and law enforcement.

mb91941Great jobI've really enjoyed listening to these podcasts and researching the crimes through John's website. Great content and really interesting as well as entertaining.
-
cindasue81Personally a great showI have and am enjoying this show very much. No it's not as "showy" as others but it is real.. it is down to earth. I enjoy the simplicity of this show while obtaining a lot of information about a ton of different cases to including his sister's unsolved murder. Thank you John for keeping it real.

Lacy BettMy new favorite....I have become very wrapped up in this show and love it. And I'm am one of those people who like the more popular and stylized shows like Serial, Criminal, and the CBC's SKS, and Missing and Murdered. As much as I have love these shows I sometimes find the interludes of music, ads and other audio accoutrements distracting, even seemingly shoe-horned in to fill up time. WWK is organic and no-frills. It is commendable that Mr. Allore created this simple, yet provoking whole-cloth. It's also apparent that his material is objective and well-researched-(which can't be easy with one of the cases involving his own sister). While the information can be overwhelming at first listen, the host reviews past discussed cases when needed by providing neccessary information in case the listener forgot or didn't connect the dot(s). Maybe I'm biased because I love learning about crime in Canada-(or anything Canada-related, sadly not being Canadian). But I like the unfiltered tone in which the information is presented. I just hope the host continues with this show for he is generating much needed exposure for these cases.
-
teresamariegrandydevestating but realistic and informationalThis podcast breaks my heart but at the same time I look forward to every single new release. I love listening to John, he is an excellent narrator and story teller and packs so much information into each episode. I highly recommend this podcast.
-
xtinemariaRaw, real, and grittyThe host is a brother of one of the victims. Touching tribute to her in the search for her killer. Good listen.
-
A61fg78j8j8jRespectNo only do I have a tremendous amount of respect for you, I appreciate your passion to branch out to other cases. People who give negative reviews are likely those searching for a NEW, theatrical podcast that is all over social media... While these are wonderful podcasts, they are nothing compared to the realness of this. This is beyond a trend, it's passion and so much more. Thank you for doing what you do. Niki

Lioness037I tried! This podcast is just plain boring and puts me to sleep. He has very little inflection in his voice and sounds very monotone and then he stammers constantly throughout the podcast. Also when I listen to a podcast then I expect the show to be about the subject, and not have the host spend 20 minutes explaining the highway system.
-
BlueJeepGood true crime show!Quite sober in its production, a brother investigates his sister's murder as well as other unsolved cases. I am hooked!!
-
Slccls123579Show has heart.That's what matters.
-
renthead <3Raw, True Crime.I thoroughly enjoy Mr. Allore's podcast. It is raw, it is real, it is unfiltered and unedited. Clearly this is intentional. It puts the focus on the information, the crimes. Spectacular!
-
RosieVioletThis is real lifeThis podcast is created by a man whose sister was murdered. He is trying to unpack what happened to his sister and many other women who were murdered around the same time and place as his sister. This is raw. This is REAL. If you simply want to be entertained, this is not for you. If you want to open your heart and try to understand the struggle of families who've lost loved ones in such horrible, unsolved cases, give this a listen.

Elephanttrunk1911What are you taking about? You need a new MICROPHONE!!Please get a new mic and find a place we can't hear vehicles going by in the background. Also, a little organization would be good. Good luck....
-
Alyssa0411Not interestingThe narrator babbles a lot, he should have gathered his notes better and stuck with the key points. Also the sound is coming out on just the left side, not sure if it just on my end or not.

kimguyBad on every levelTerrible presentation of information, content, audio, and production quality. He says he's a fan of Serial so clearly he knows what a good podcast is. This guy rambles for 60 mins straight (in EACH episode) with no clear direction or presentaton of facts. He stammers incessantly and often veers off-topic (there doesn't seem to be any cuts/edits at all.) He introduces names of so many people that it's impossible to follow along. Although he says he's been investigating for 15 years there is no evidence of that presented here. Episode 1 was unbearable -- I felt like I was stuck on a boring conference call (because that's the quality level of the audio). I wanted to give it a fair shake so I listened to ep. 2. In ep. 2 he promises that not all episodes will be him alone talking but by episode 5 he is STILL the only voice you hear. By episode 3 he is clearly drunk and railing against the media. Episode 4 ends abruptly in the middle of a thought. He tries but fails to link his sister's death to those of other female victims. He even spends 30 minutes talking about alternate driving routes through Montreal. There is nothing compelling to listen to here. I downloaded 10 episodes but I'll be deleting them to make room for a better podcast!
