Fantastic People Telling an Amazing Story
Came here on a whim after it was recommended by Whelmed: The Young Justice Files. I’ve listened to some Critical Role, and while I like their cast, I’ve never been big into high fantasy. This podcast, on the other hand, scratches the itch for unique superhero storytelling. Loren is an incredible storyteller who greatly enables his players to reach for the stars, and the players are all great at taking risks and portraying the emotions of these characters. I love seeing them change and grow. Golden Glove, Nazgrim, Kid Kati and Singularity all come so far from Issue 1 to Issue 40, and the stories of Imp, Wytch, Silver Tiger, Blue Spider, etc. etc. are amazing. This has been a fun show, so engaging and entertaining, but beyond that, it has inspired me to start running my first campaign in Masks. Thank you all for providing a story that dives right into what’s great about superheroes unapologetically, and thanks for being yourselves and sharing your fun at the table with us!

    Wonderful Podcast
A fantastic show put on by a group of talented and funny people. One of the very few who run an actual play podcast of MASKS A New Generation they tell a great story of a group of four young super heroes with a great group dynamic, season two of Fall of Magic & Dungeon World is incredibly interesting and creative, and season three of the Doomed is off to a fantastic start so what are you waiting for give them a listen! You won’t regret it!

    A Great Time
There's really not much else to say about NoaR other than the fact that it's a solid Actual Play. Compared to other Masks APs, the audio quality could perhaps use a bit more attention but they're always bringing a great game. Perhaps more than anything, they feel like a game played at home, with all the banter and friendly teasing going on. Sometimes they get a bit off track, sometimes they make rules mistakes, sometimes they are just the slightest bit off on something (good job picking the MOST common Helium isotope to be a rare plot point, guys!), but overall it's a wonderful story and you could do far, far worse than listening to these nerds.

    Need more
One of the best ongoing MASK game I have heard. I love how there is character growth and the story matter above all else. This podcast was there when I was on a MASK kick and could not find any long running game using this system.

This has been an amazing jurney!
I love how the story has been progressing and the characters are so entertaining to listen to! They each have such strong personalitys and the system they are using to tell their story fits perfectly with them! <3

    Best of Masks
Hey-o! This is the best consistent Masks podcast out there. Very fun and the MC/DM strikes a really good time and enables his players really well. Only gripe about the show is sometimes Kid Kati breaks the flow. Either things go too fast and the rest of the crew has to explain what's going on or sometimes it's just unpreparedness. EP. 32 has a full minute of nothing between the MC calling for a roll and Kati giving us a result. Yanks me right out of my favorite super hero podcast.

    Aww yes
So I love masks. and I love superheroes. and until recently I had an hour long walk home from work. wouldn't you know, it never felt like an hour when I was istening. my friend recced this to me when she learned I was playing masks, and I got hooked. what fun characters, what fun storylines (holy duck with a typewriter, the stuff with hera? that is my jam and honeybutter) I love it so much and can't wait for more. it makes the wait for my own masks game easier to bare :)
  • But then I saw her face
    Some intense personalities
I love the characters so much! I’ll always listen for the characters, especially Kid Katie. The GM is a little overbearing, and the masculine energy sometimes overflows into some/all the guys man-splaining and talking over Katie (I’m a guy btw). But besides those two occasional dynamics, the story and the gameplay are super fun. You’ve got a loyal listener in me!

    Fantastic!
I am always a sucker for good characters, and man this podcast really hits the mark for me. The main characters are not only well developed throughout the course of the story but their actions are intresting and poingant. I have truly enjoyed each issue and can not wait to see what happens next. If you're looking for a fast paced, action packed, and hilarious podcast I HIGHLY recommend.

    Great Podcast!!!! 10/10!!!!
Honestly I don't know why I haven't reviewed this before, this podcast is amazing. I'm excited for every new episode, which holds a great story, interesting characters, and a wonderful cast. This podcast is also a great introduction to the Masks system, specifically the first few episodes. I highly recommend this podcast.

    Super hero role playing fun!
This podcast was one of the few that I love to listen to every episode! It's more about the role playing but always a fun adventure. If you like D&D or comics definitely a good choice!

    Best Podcast Out There!
Come one come all nerds of all, and witness an amazing group of people doing amazing things. Great podcast for beginner and experienced D and D players. Been listening since Day 1 and haven't been disappointed ever. The production value is amazing for a starter podcast and all cast members are engaging and fun to listen to. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone looking for a good time and delving into the masks RPG or looking into the apocalypse system. You will not be disappointed and endless amounts of good times will be had! Great job nerds on a roll cast keep it up!

    Great Production and Players
The music and sounds added in makes the experience so much better. Some of the time I feel like I'm sitting at the table with them and it shows how much they care about role playing. I highly recomend them to everyone and you should give them a listen. PS Nazgrim is my favorite!!!!

NOAR Just Gets Better and Better
If you like interesting stories and characters you will love this podcast. It just gets better and better the more the story is unraveled. These teen heroes are constantly challenged and developed in clever ways by their game master, Loren Peterson. Every choice furthers the narrative in unique and interesting ways that one would never expect. It's a joy to listen to these nerds tell a story, I highly recommend it!

    Amazing Podcast!
This has definitely become one of my favorite podcasts. The story and pacing are great and all of the characters are very likable and interesting. Each episode just gets better and better and you can tell all the players, including the dm are having a great time. Definitely give this one a listen to.

    Great Find!
Just finished the first episodes and was very impressed with the production quality and content. Podcasts of this genre are usually very cringy and hard to get through, but they have good chemistry and the GM is fantastic! I highly recommend it.

    N.O.A.R.
N.O.A.R is an excellent podcast. For being amateurs, I'm very impressed by the skill of the GM and voice actors/actress to full submerge the listener into the make-believe city. The GM is excellent, and is constantly pushing forward character development, and controls the NPC's with ease. Within an instant, he knows how the NPC would react towards a certain situation caused by the PC characters. He is very adept at painting a scene with his words, and getting the other players to explain further without seeming controlling or pushy. The voice actors seem to be one with their characters, which I think speaks for their ability to act. They are all sharp witted, and creative individuals. For me personally, I have fallen in love with Naz Grimm, and Kid Kati. Grimm is quite funny, and acts just like I believe an alien would act visiting Earth. Kati is another favorite because of her attitude, and persona like come on how do you not like her instantly. While, Theo was not one of my favorites at the start, I have really enjoyed his character development, and has grown on me quite a bit. Golden Glove is the typical white knight superhero, and has to do everything properly. (Think Robin in the D.C. Universe) This has kind of pigeon-holed him into a corner character-wise, but Robert does a phenomenal job embodying the White Knight. I believe it was episode two or three were he gave a speech to the team. It was incredible. The words were eloquently said, and made him seem like a natural born leader. In addition, I received goose-bumps when his moment of truth happened. All in all, this is a high quality production on a low budget. It is clear this people love doing it, and are extremely passionate. This podcast will become extremely popular, better start listening before it because mainstream. When it does, at least you will have bragging rights to have listened to it before everybody else.

    Really Fun
You guys make me wish I had a group of friends to play this game with. Love you guys!

This Podcast is ... "SUPER"... what have I become?
These guys and GAL are wonderful. The episodes start out at a run and have yet to slow down. There is a great chemistry between the players and as production value increases, the episodes have only gotten better. Great use of sound and music, very good editing, and the episodes are kept to a length everyone can enjoy. Sometimes there can be a lot of explaining of panels and character motivations - instead of letting a scene happen naturally, the MC (master of ceremonies) sometimes picks and pulls at behind-the-mask details, but it's all for the benefit of the listeners. Once you get comfortable with the vibe and the feel of the show - there are few more entertaining! Super powered teens, insane villians, troubled heroes, shakey moral ground, interseting characters, and a very involved and well crafted story will keep you coming back for more and waiting for that next episode!

These nerds are on a roll ...
Sure, there are other podcasts of tabletop gamers, but this podcast has the right combination of player chemistry, DM creativity, PC interpersonal drama, and a game (Magpie Game's "Masks: A New Generation) which more people need to know about. Another great part is the groups social media interactivity with their fans and followers makes them that much better. @NerdsOnARoll is the tip of their iceberg! -@Polish_Ogre

    Love Every Episode!
Nerds on a Roll is fantastic! While there are some audio issues with background noise in early episodes, the story and characters more than make up for it and the NOAR group is constantly improving and fixing those things. With compelling characters, fun relationship dynamics and interactions, and great action, this AP is an awesome mix of hilarious shenanigans and genuine teen angst. Can't wait for the next episode!

Great characters and fun sound effects!
I've been listening since the beginning and been absolutely hooked since the end of episode 2! The sound effects and some of the accents making the story come more alive and the characters easy to distinguish (as much as I hate Theo's "french" accent). Great characters and conversations, well balanced powersets and time spent on each character.

    Very Exciting, Good Production Value!
I have been a listener since day 1. This podcast has been a rollercoaster of action, drama, and fun! The GM does a very good job of describing the action and really makes everything come to life. The sound quality has been top notch since the very first episode. I have never had any issues hearing or understanding anyone (an issue I have had with other roleplaying podcasts) I highly recommend this podcast to any fans of roleplaying games. It is well worth your time.

    Can't get enough
I've been a fan of Masks since I heard about it some time ago. And this is the most compelling game of it I have heard played. I'm a huge fan of this cast and the people invovled. Each Tuesday I'm watching my feed and waiting for this to pop up.

    On a Roll
Just finished episode 2, and about to kick off episode 3. Loving the character interactions, enjoying the system (will have to certainly try it myself), and the story progression feels natural. The end of ep 2 in particular was phenomenal, as well. Consider me hooked! -Josh (Taking Intiative/The Once and Future Nerd)
