    Delightful
I really enjoy learning about France. The host is so enjoyable to listen to, as are his guests.

    Don’t bother
If you want to learn about Paris, go elsewhere. This couple fawn over each other and wonder about all the “mysteries”, most of which they haven’t solved. (He: ‘I wonder why they call it that?’ She: “Who knows?” I’ll tell you who knows: the Michelin guide or any basic web search. They wander around trying to figure things out and give hodgepodge lists of things to see without much insight or explanation. “You’ll love the feel of this.” “Just trust us.” Total waste of time.

    Will I ever learn French
Hi, I just watched the opening ceremony and remembered my favorite city I’ve visited a few times but never for long. Living in the USA currently, I searched for a Paris podcast, found yours that transported me to the delightful alleys of the city. I always thought there was so much to learn from the French! Well, after about 12 episodes I realized there’s even more…You and guests have been great company and added that sweetness, that for me Paris has, to my days. I’ve been binge listening, it’s so uplifting I love it. Now for the million's time I am thinking… Is it too late to learn French at 40?! Ok 51…

    Great info and tempo
Finally, a good podcast about France! I especially love the “Riviera” segments. I’m listening before I make another trip there in a few weeks. Love the literature references! Merci beaucoup!

    Perfectly Paris
I’ve been a loyal listener since the beginning and Oliver (and Lina!) do an excellent job at painting the perfect picture of Paris. I’ve taken many of their recommendations during my visits and my time living in Paris. Bravo, Oliver!

    Amazing!!!
Oh my my …. I should have written a review ages ago … finally! I discovered the Earful Tower back in spring of 2021 when Oliver interviewed MollyJWilk. I had started baking French pastries on zoom with Molly when the pandemic started, pure joy. So I started listening to these podcasts. I was slow to start, as there was no trip planned for Paris and it made me so wishful, that I couldn’t always listen. Then Oliver and Lina became friends on my 1 hour long drive to and from work. And now the trip is planned and about to happen … and the list of what to see and do is much too long! We have been before, this will be my 4th trip, so all the places one would not know to visit is where we will go! If you love Paris, or just love to hear incredible stories about amazing places and people, this is the podcast to listen too. Thank you Oliver, can not wait to be walking your streets. Cheers! Mary

    A true joy!
I love hanging out with Oliver, Lina and Otis! Even though I no longer work in Paris, I feel like I am still there when I spent time with them every week. Merci bien!

    Great!
Wonderful blend of “must do” sites and unusual things to do to see real Paris. Oliver, where in France have you not been but still want to go?

    Great Manner and Tone
I am really enjoying listening to this podcast. The host has a great manner— informal and casual and thoughtful. One quibble is that the theme music sounds like a bad infomercial. Lots of great music out there—even stereotypical french accordion music.

    Should be half as long
Started binge listening for fun and got to mid 2019, but can’t listen any longer. This is the show: 3-6 minutes of needlessly long intro 2-4 minutes of small talk with guest and plugging Patreon 10-14 minutes of actual content interspersed with: 5-8 minutes of off-topic small talk 3-5 minutes of recap, plugging guest/Patreon, and reiterating the name of the show. Really liked the show at the beginning, but feel like it has regressed into an uninspired chit chat show. Oliver is fun though, I’ll try again at a later date.

    This podcast is <chef’s kiss>
I found The Earful Tower a few years ago when planning a trip to France. It was so fun and informative that I never stopped listening. In fact, this is the only podcast that I support as a Patreon. It’s always a good day to see a new episode in my feed.

    Oliver’s fantastic
Oliver is a fantastic host who consistently comes up with engaging content about Paris and France in general. His episode on the alligator in the Seine was intriguing, and was his recent bucket list episode which was fun and informative. The Bonnie restaurant looks fab!

    A thoroughly enjoyable podcast.
For the last six years I have looked forward to the Earful Tower podcast popping up in my feed each week with the same enthusiasm one feels for receiving a letter in the mail from a good friend. This is due in large part to the thoughtful care Oliver uses to make sure that each episode comes across as a very accessible, very informative, source of reliable insight into subject matter I (and obviously a great deal of other people) find very interesting. More podcasts should be like this one.

    My favorite podcast!
I learn so much-and laugh a lot, when listening to Oliver! He’s informative, friendly, and humorous. I recently became a patreon member because I truly want to further support his wonderful endeavor. My most recent trip to Paris was this past September, and I joined Oliver and other patreon members for a fantastic walking tour in the Marais-I learned so much that I went back a few days later with my son, an American soldier who flew to Paris from Germany to join me. Anyway, cannot recommend The Earful Tower highly enough!

A resource to end all resources
We spent two months in Paris last spring and even though it was our seventh visit Ollie and Nina gave us at least six ideas for activities. For example La Maison Maille French Boutique, 6 place de la Madeleine for mustard tasting and great little six packs to bring home for gifts.

    Earful forever!
Love podcast! Since Covid days Oliver and Lina and friends have welcomed us all to their happy world. When so much troubled in this world they bring cheer to everything they touch!

    Pandemic Passport to Paris
I have been following The Earful Tower since before the pandemic. When I couldn’t travel to Paris because of the restrictions, Oliver took me there. His witty podcasts are so much fun—great topics and great guests—and there is always something new to learn. Thanks for keeping Paris in my ear when I can’t be there!

Entertaining content even when I’m not planning my next trip
Found Oliver and his lovely wife Lena when planning my first trip to Paris with my friends in 2022. They did a fantastic season touring around all the arrondissements of Paris and their feedback really shaped my trip. We stayed in the Marais and loved every minute of it. Since then I’ve continued to listen because the episodes are fun and informative, and a great way to spend some of my morning commute each week. Now I’m planning my next trip, and bringing my husband and two sons (ages 8 and 11) along, to visit France this Spring! I try to make travel fun but also educational for my sons. I want to raise young men who are comfortable in places that don’t look or sound like home, who are curious about the world. So here is my question for you, Oliver: What do you think is the most interesting or important thing for two young boys to learn or understand about Paris on their first trip?

    Best Guide to Paris
This is the best podcast about Paris. He takes you to parts of the city that you won’t find discussed in guide books. He has a passion for the city and shares it with you the listener. He is best when he does the podcast by himself or with the special guests he interviews. You will learn so much about Paris!

Personality plus and loads of information
The Earful Tower has been such an uplifting respite in this tumultuous world. I listen to Oliver on my walks and they immediately transport me back to my blissful days of wandering the streets of Paris. I’m lucky enough to have had the opportunity to travel to Paris quite a few times in the past and until that is once again possible I will listen to this wonderful podcast. Through its detailed notes I have been able to connect with other podcasts and book suggestions about Paris and France. Speaking of books...I am waiting in eagerness to receive my copies of the children’s book Oliver and his incredibly artistic wife, Lina have written. Just a hint- it includes a crocodile. Thanks, Oliver for bringing so much joy to so many people. Judith from Portland P.S. Tell Eddie he’s doing a fabulous job on the scrolls for Patreon members!

    My Haven for Paris Life!
I’ve been a follower and hooked from the start of this podcast! It’s become my haven for living the Parisian life from afar! Some of my favorite spots I’ve visited in Paris are thanks to Oliver and The Earful Towers recommendations! My wish list is long but one of my favorites I’ve visited now on 2 trips is Paname Brewing. And as a Sommelier another dream is visit Tour d’Argent, thank you for your visit! It makes me want to go even more! Cheers!

This podcast is terrific. Oliver explores the real Paris and then prepares detailed written guides that pair well with the audio. This podcast is regularly a subject of conversation in our home. Our own photos and memories mix with Oliver’s interviews and explorations. Truly outstanding. Thanks Mr. Gee! And salut mon mec! Oops- pretend that never happened. -Carl Boehm

Love your podcast (and Paris)! 👏👏👏
I have never written a podcast review but you asked nicely and I want to help you get to 1,000! I found your podcast - after following you on FB - at the beginning of the ABC-son. You accompanied me on many walks and I learned a lot about my favorite city in the process. I hope to take one of your Marais tours someday! I have been catching up on your recent episodes and laughed out loud so many times during the one on French words. C’est dingue comme c’etait drole! Paris tip from me for your bucket list - check out La Cuisine Paris for an English-speaking cooking school. I’ve taken two courses and both were great!

    Bad Patreon
Oh, Oliver, I’ve been a very bad Patreon. I haven’t been listening to your podcasts faithfully. We are living in the chaos of renovation, and I have just felt unsettled. BUT, today I listened to one at the gym (best bars in Paris) and realized what I’ve been missing! I even stayed on the elliptical longer than usual to finish listening to it. It was VERY good and informative and I’m keeping the list for our next visit. Now I have something to look forward to when going to work out. You’re the best! Thank you.

    Parfait!
I heartily recommend Oliver’s podcast for all lovers of Paris. I started listening while planning a trip to France in 2022. Now it’s my Monday afternoon ritual. My favorite recent episode is Z is for Zinc (rooftops) in the A through Z alphabet season. PS - Oliver, could you do an episode about Marseille, pretty please?!

    Fun, Informative, All About Paris!
I’ve listened to Oliver’s podcast the Earful Tower for years and never tire of it. His dedication to making it a stellar experience shines through on all episodes. The seasons are vastly different, so you never know what you’re going to get, except quality. I have gotten so much good information, and as a Francophile, I can definitely sing his praises. A couple of years ago I joined Patreon as a thanks to all of his hard work. I definitely want to see this podcast and his others business adventures perpetuate. Thanks Oliver for such a great podcast!
