    Funny
This is genuinely the funniest podcast I have ever come across. I’m working my way back through all the earlier episodes, and the existential dread I have for when I run out of episodes and am left with just one new one per week is rivaled only by the knowledge that I and everyone I know will be dead one day.

    5 Stars For Heath's Laugh
There is nothing lamer than a morning zoo show where the deejays pretend to laugh at each other. There is nothing funnier than a group of really funny people who can't help laughing at each other. And you get a deep dive into a Wikipedia rabbit trail besides. You had me at butchering the intro.

The only thing more annoying than Ross Douthat is listening to someone do an impression of him
Thought the two Ross Douthat op ed episode was entertaining, and I almost always relish an opportunity to trash his drivel. Having said that, the host’s impression of him got real old real fast, to the point where I had to stop listening. Usually this pod is pretty good, but when the horse is dead, let it rest in peace.

I thought this was the citations needed podcast, but they just cribbed the name.

    My Immortal!
I have to say, the readings of My Immortal are by far one of the biggest highlights of this show. Oh, what’s that, fellow fan? You don’t know what I’m talking about?! Well why don’t you head over to patreon.com and sign up to support the pod! Maybe if we get enough donors they can finally list Tom among the show hosts in Apple Podcasts app! I love, love, love this show. ❤️🤘🏽

    Yes, Pong! No, Snarky Reviews…
I stumbled on the Pong history, it’s delightful. I ventured into the “Snarky Reviews” episode and emerged baffled. The first review, from 2002, they laugh AT the review as being badly written. As in, “tired slice of cheese.” What could the reviewer possibly mean, they snicker. (It means you can see from the dry edges of the slices, the cheese is stale, it’s been exposed to air too long. How is this obscure, risibly ostentatious language? Otherwise, sure, good fun.

    Nope
They mostly seem to like laughing at their own jokes. Annoying to me.

    Smart can be funny
Highbrow, lowbrow, eyebrow, they don’t care. Something can be funny without punching down and offending people. Something can be smart without being pretentious. It’s the anti-JRE and I’m glad it’s out here.

    So much fun
This podcast is so much fun, due to the cleverness of the hosts. The random topic presented is always interesting and then on top of that, the hosts not presenting the topic that week make constant jokes and puns about the story, many of which are truly laugh out loud funny. A great show.

5 stars for promoting sexual abuse of sea mammals and the euthanasia of ungrateful slave elephants

    Brain Rot Personified
Didn’t find it entertaining, sadly. A true waste of time. Cheers.

    Fun and interesting but...
I'm not a prude --at least I don't consider myself one (!?)--but the super intense dude-energy and constant swearing and sexual references got to be too much for me. Just my opinion. If that doesn't bother you, I'd say give it a try. It is fun and interesting.

    Hi Heath!
This remarkable group of dudes is truly outstanding! Their humor is absolutely hysterical, and they are genuinely wonderful individuals. I connect with them on multiple levels. Give them a listen, and you’ll be hooked! Also give a listen to their sister podcasts: THE SCATHING ATHEIST, GOD AWFUL MOVIES, SKEPTICRAT. Bye Heath! Adrian

    Good work little boy!
I don’t know if you need to be kicked in the head by a mule to like this show, but every since my accident I’ve been in love with Ben. It’s so nice to see you respectful teens these. The way he takes a half baked idea, adds big words and talks fast always gets me clapping like a trained seal. Even though nothing was said, I feel validated. Sadly I can only give this one star because he’s not of my brand of faith and patriotism;).

They deserve 5 stars, despite my rage
Fantastic show, well deserving of 5 stars. However, my rage at them insulting Cincinnati chili almost led to a 1 star review!

I love this podcast. when I’m having a bad day, I have a topic and it looks most spirits. Any time Hubby and I are on a “driving date” (running errands) we pick a topic and laugh all the way to wherever we’re going (pod keeps me from over “co-piloting” his driving!). We love you guys and your sense of humor…good for the belly & soul.

    So great!
Listening to them laugh at each other as they work their way through these topics is pure catharsis. I love all of them and this cast is perfect. Their other podcasts are amazing as well. Can’t recommend this one enough.

    Eli was wrong!
We don’t need a nemesis movie! Otherwise the gamergate episode was fantastic Keep up the work boys
  • kayman-c
    used to be ok
the more eli was allowed to jam in his weird characters and bad skits, the worse the show got. i though getting rid of the skit was a step in the right direction, but mondays “episode” kinda shows otherwise. eli needs less creative control.

    Pre-show shenanigans patrion
I miss the pre-show shenanigans so hearing that being a patrion I can hear them again makes me happy. When I have spending money I’m going to be a patrion love this show especially the historical episodes. Informative and funny.

    So Gooood!!
UPDATED REVIEW: I never knew I’d be so interested in screw lengths, or the lengths someone would go to screw….fix….repair…? I love this show so much, I’ve been listening for YEARS (it’s ok, I feel old too), and I always listen to each new episode as soon as I can. The screw episode has me wishing I could afford to become a patron again right now, but hey, like a good screw, some day things will turn up and I’ll turn my Patreon subscription back on! Previous review: I miss the pre-show shenanigans, but I totally get if that was just not the vibe anymore. It was great while it lasted! The rest of the show still slaps (Eli, please translate as needed), thank you all for sharing these nuggets of internet lore!

    HEAR ALL THE THINGS
I particularly like the everyone talking over everybody aspect of the not being able to tell what is being said in an audio format.

Heath Hate Reads Historical Lit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
first, i’ve listened to at least half the eps twice. they’re all great but the Heath Hate Reads Historical Literature series deserves a Podcast Pulitzer. Amazing. Anyway, I usually listen to this show when i’m running and i probably look… interesting… to anyone who sees me laughing so hard i nearly fall on my face whilst on a run! thanks guys.

    Bring back the opening sketch
Love the show but what happened to the opening sketch? why did the guys get rid of the opening sketch? The show needs to bring back the opening sketch because the show doesn’t feel the same without it. If you can look past the opening sketch gone, the show is so funny I love it and look forward to episodes each week. If you bring back the opening sketch it could be a full 5/5 score.

    One episode…
I love this show. I still think about a line from an episode from probably 6 months or so ago that Eli said. It literally makes me laugh every time I think about it.

    Okay Cecil wins
Over the years, I’ve had other favorites, but Cecil is the funniest right now. And the other guys are really funny. And clever and charming. But Cecil is the funniest right now. Can’t wait ‘til the next ep.!

Yeah let’s do a fun quiz
Tom Lehrer said that political satire was dead after he learned that Henry Kissinger had won the Nobel peace prize in 1973. This show proves that while necromancy (and near death experiences) are b.s., so was Mr Lehrer’s prognostication regarding satire’s longevity. <3

    Smart and funny
Eli “probably” lies but don’t worry he’s between 3rd to 4th funniest lol. Great guys that definitely keep every episode interesting. The production is fantastic, Noah and Cecil are pros, Heath and Tom exist. Love you guys and I’ll listen to everything you all make!

    Simply Bad
I was searching for a new history podcast and came across this one. It’s like the dollop podcast but without any talent. The jokes are really forced and unfunny yet everyone on mic guffaws at them. It reminded me of lame morning zoo shows. I listened to two shows on topics I know a lot about and the historical inaccuracies were rampant. If you’re going to have a history podcast (even if it’s supposed to be funny), you should at least get basic facts right.
