ThisNicknameisnotTaken14Deace is a Horrible PersonWhile I share his love for Michigan, I cannot stand Steve Deace and what he stands for. He is a terrible person. And he inserts his right wing nut job opinions into his UM commentary, which is why I quit listening. There are plenty of UM-centered pods out there that aren’t run by bad faith actors who unapologetically lie to their listeners like Steve does. Unless you are a UM and a right wing nut job, you will hate this pod.

mgreenzReally?Steve, you are off the rails my friend. Or why the guys that host the Steve Deace Show stick with you. Not even sure why Glenn, Beck tolerates you. You’re a perfect example of a Dunning Kruger effect.

Scott Ham103BlindJust another paid for Michigan robot who cannot see the fax right in front of his face.

Rossfm52Excellent podcast.I only wish it was more than once a week. Really enjoy the analysis and commentary. -Ross

-
Tyler DiffenderferHonest showThis is my favorite Michigan focused show. Steve gives fair commentary on all subjects. 10 Minute War segments are terrific. His other show Bigger Ten is great too. 10/10 I recommend.

CornDude87Awesome podcast/ Congrats Michigan fansI’m an Iowa grown Nebraska fan and alumni. I came to this podcast through listening to Steve’s political show. I love listening to Steve talk football, and I love the style of football Michigan has been playing since 2021. I Hope Rhule builds Nebraska in a very similar blueprint. As a die-hard Nebraska fan I have grown a hatred for Ohio State, and I enjoyed the game in Columbus last Saturday. It was an awesome beatdown of the Buckeyes!! I hope Michigan wins it all this year.

Big House BoyGoodThanks!
-
VorgirFinally scratched that itch!I have been continuously hoping for more Michigan talk on Steve’s political show and just found this! Great analysis, and still entertaining.
-
Connor. c.Great podcastVery good analysis and a great podcast
-
mibuckeye8789Love the show but…..Please stop referencing OSU as only beating one team with a winning record. I’m not saying it’s impressive, as a Buckeye fan, but they beat Toledo, Notre Dame, and Rutgers, Love the show though.
-
Vapor_SquadMCGreat addition to my dayI spend every day looking to see if there is a new episode, great stuff Steve, keep it up, and GO BLUE
-
kfsdiscipleGreat contentNot a Michigan fan but enjoy the content like the most recent episode (25 predictions) but seriously do we need a 5 minute intro of hail to the victors? 😂🤢🤮

Will RoppNot politicalI’m a Georgia fan but noticed all of the Coronabros leaving negative comments so figured I would retort. He’s got a lot of really good roster information that fans of any team can benefit from. He does not talk politics on the show. When the United States Congress decides to put pressure on public universities to CANCEL their football season because you know, reasons - how would a sports show not discuss that? If Democratic governors were the main culprits of pressuring these schools not to play because it “helps” their political career; it’s not his fault for mentioning it. Very nice to listen to a sports show for the regular people instead of the others that actively participate pushing the establishment propaganda.

other podcast hostBest Michigan PodThe most honest and realistic Michigan pod out there. Steve is true to his word good or bad!

BigEinThumbFor that I’m outOverall it is a good Michigan podcast though having said that Steve’s negativity towards the team and now school as a whole leave a lot to be desired. It is too repetitive and I am over the whole Mark Rogers thing. Every episode there is that 10 minute war and I swear these episodes get shorter and shorter and just junk is filled in them. I am usually happy driving home or to work and this comes on in my que so then I’m in a bad mood.

Troy L 12345Most objectiveSteve I have to say yes I am a Buckeye but I love listening to your podcast because you say it like it is. Be it for Michigan or Ohio State or against. There is nothing I would like to see more than to have Michigan become relevant again. Sure I don’t want to loose but it needs to happen to keep the spice in THE GAME. I just don’t want it to come from Jim Harbaugh. His personality especially rubs me the wrong way. Like when he complained about the shoe being too loud when he was in the game and got the refs to impose a penalty thus ending up winning the game. I could take a loss from anyone but him. I think the two coaches before him were better coaches. Enough about him. I am going to tell everyone I know who is a Michigan or a Buckeye fan about your show. Keep staying on point awesome. Hey Steve since I heard you on Ted Cruz podcast I have even more respect.
-
Trailhiker10Every episode is the sameI used to love listening. But the negativity and the repeat thing every show is getting old I can barely listen to it anymore. Be objective quit being a homer and quit repeating the same stuff time and time again on every episode. I get the disappointment we all do but you’re making your show unbearable to listen to because of your repetition, I can pretty much anticipate what you will say. Look for some new angles instead of the woe is me and the Ohio state whining that you portray.
-
The Real Tim G 3156Best Michigan Show Out ThereI listen to a bunch of these podcast. Steve puts together by far the most comprehensive and enjoyable show in 30-45 minutes of the lot. Really look forward to these each week even during these dark days of Michigan football. Give it a listen I believe you will subscribe.
-
AllFreysMustDieMGoTrumper? His Trump-loving fascist views are creeping more and more into what should be pure M sports talk. I’m out.
-
TJ2296Cry BabyI don’t know why he does this podcast. He sits there for an entire episode and hates on Michigan. It’s a lot more fun to be a fan and be exited about a season than be a depressed cry baby. Can’t listen anymore. Not worth your time.
-
tylerjd96Hack - Hard to listen toQuite literally the softest person you could ever listen to. If you wanna hear someone whine/cry/pout for 30 minutes a week, this is your place.
-
MichiganSportsEditorHelpful facts, immature deliveryIt is disappointing and irritating to listen to podcasts which contain helpful facts about UM teams delivered in an immature fashion. The constant whining about Michigan’s recent football record vs. OSU is not entertaining; neither was the carping about the Big Ten’s initial decision canceling the beginning of the fall sports season. There are a lot better UM sports blogs out there to be listened to.
-
wedge the wolverineGood ShowLove ya Steve. It is going to be rough without college football, but your intro brings back good memories. Got misty eyed listening to the “Apocalypse “ episode. The Big Ten will forever be changed
-
Oregon WolverineCOVID DenierI understood Deace’s politics made him an outlier, radical conservative, but I listened for over a year anyway as he kept his political views off the show — that is until his COVID-19 views took over an episode. I don’t need science-deniers in my life during a pandemic. That’s why we are in such a mess. I’m unsubscribing.
-
JK_313Flopsweat personifiedUnsubscribing. Steave Deace turns out to be a pretty creepy dude with terrible opinions 🤷♂️ Much better Michigan content out there to waste time giving oxygen to this clown.
-
Albert L IIBlind SpotSorry Steve but you need some diversity of option regarding COVID-19 in your analysis. You’ve got a big blind spot buddy.

hatethewebBiases Cloud AnalysesOne Deace has a pleasing manner and his intro music brings back great memories, but I do not feel I can trust his analyses/ judgment. For example, he began his June 2 broadcast on whether Nuchugannight have its best recruiting class ever by pointing out that the class at the time was 4th it 5 th in the nation according to two rankings. Sounds great, but any good analyst would have pointed out that this was largely based on the number of signed recruits and that there were probably 8 least 6 and maybe as many as ten teams ranked below us that would do better when all recruits were signed (e.g. Alabama, Clemson, LSU etc.). Why ignore something so obvious - the only reason seemed to be to support his case. Similarly perhaps, he assumed UM would get a number of highly rated recruits they were after - an interesting and reasonable assumption - and said that if UM got them all - a distinct possibility - the class would have a higher total 247 (?)score than it did when UM outranked the Buckeyes (because, although he didn’t say it, the number of recruits. But that’s not the issue. The question is how would that class compare in score to the highest scoring class Harbaugh recruited. I don’t know and sadly I cannot trust Deace’s implied message that it would be the best. His discussion of coronavirus with an OSU analyst has some interesting and sound observations like a suggestion at the end that it would be another week or two before we might see a spike in deaths if that occurred. But too much of what he said reflected a poor understanding of how to identify causes and at times seemed motivated by political, dare I say Trumpian, biases. Thus there was a hint that maybe the recent spikes were due to Americans returning to this country from Mexico. Nor did his use of the term “ panic porn” - if I recall correctly - enhance his credibility as an unbiased observer. To give one example, at the outset he talked about the absurd UK estimate that there might be somewhere between 1.5 and 2.5 or 3 million deaths if we did nothing to justify his panic statement and he suggested our experience proved that. Totally apart from the fact that he focused on the results of perhaps the most extreme model, it is also the case we did not do nothing. We had a 3 month lockdown? Was the model correct about the results of doing nothing. We will never know, but in pointing out that a large proportion of Covid-deaths occurred in nursing homes - and blaming democratic governors for some of them - he forgot about the millions of people in nursing homes and retirement communities who have not caught Covid and are alive. Might this be because these places took serious steps to limit the likelihood of transmission. I could detail numbers of other places where his analyses were flawed even while he raised interesting issues with more reliable data - e.g. the young - including those of football playing age - are at low risk even if they catch the virus. How should we factor this in in deciding whether to allow football in the fall - no world we live in will ever be without danger to some people. If we wouldn’t close college campuses for the flu, why for Covid-19? I don’t want to dwell on the coronavirus broadcast since that is not what we can expect from Deace going forward. I woukd not even be commenting on it if I had not then gone back to listen to the recruiting podcast I missed. It is seeing these analyses exhibit in a different context the same kinds of conscious or unconscious biases analyses to make a pint that leads me to wonder how good Deace’s sports commentary can be.

flipflop1966Kudos from Buckeye NationGreat podcast. I’m a 2 year subscriber and decided it was time to give 5 stars.

Zack maize and blueSteve is an awful personCan’t support a podcast where the host talks about hanging people from the gallows in a time like this on his alt right show. Worst thing is he has kids he will teach these hate filled views too. Unsubscribed.
-
AgtyuioGreat PodcastGreat podcast. Informative and no BS. Audio at times seems rather low but may be gear being used but still a very appealing MICHIGAN podcast!
-
TSW94We don’t sugarcoat things hereSteve, thank you for encouraging others to be honest with themselves when it comes to this team. And thank you for showing that it’s perfectly okay to be critical of your own team and the staff, all while still being a loyal Maize and Blue fan. You’re the man, Steve! Don’t ever change.

SuperKent19990Well scripted, concise, informative and entertainingOne of my favorite podcasts. The show is well scripted and concise. Not the usual turn on a microphone and just ramble and then get sidetracked and then ramble back to topic. A very well planned podcast with real good sound quality which is easy to listen to in my noisy truck. For the same reasons, I enjoy the spin-off podcast, The Bigger Ten. Both are great podcasts that I do not miss.

rush19towerSteve Deace is great!Steve is an excellent orator and really knows his stuff. He will tell the truth even when it hurts.
-
S2daB84Great analysis but teeth clinching SmugnessVery good in depth analysis and a well edited podcast for Michigan fans. The host, and frequent guest off off the charts with their smug. A lot of their time is focused on bashing listeners opinions. Very little class with this group, unfortunately. They know it all and you know nothing, idiot.

TrainerButtsSteve is the manI should say first of all I am a fan of the big ten (except Ohio State). It’s nice to listen Steve not just make excuses but tell it how he sees it. Love listening every week. Keep up the good work!

psychrangerSteve tells the TruthI want to preface this review by openly acknowledging that I’m an Ohio State Alum and rabid college football fan. I noticed Steve’s podcast last year after the UM-OSU game and was amazed to see a man’s podcast who although he clearly bleeds maize and blue, was able to see the product without allowing his love for UM to blind him to the truth. I have had times where I’ve shared the frustration and pain i see in Steve because I’m also an Atlanta Falcons fan. Falcons fans have suffered for decades with failure in big games since the 1070’s. We’re alike in that we’re all human beings and US citizens (hopefully) who have grown to love college football. So it’s with mixed feelings that I watch Steve struggle with UM’s failures. I love watching the Buckeyes beat them, but i also feel badly for Steve, who loves his team like I love mine and has had to endure the failure of UM’s teams to be the expected National factor since hiring Coach Harbaugh. The excitement level on his hiring was unprecedented in previous decades and he was widely believed to be the exact Coach Michigan needed to overcome years of being a non-factor in Big10 and National Championships. The UM teams have managed to underachieve for what seems to have been for so many years and have faced the ultimate humiliation of losing so often to the Buckeyes. Well Steve Deace is one bright spot in the misery! He makes no excuses which most do in the face of failure, but instead continues to hold his favorite player turned Coach accountable for a product that doesn't reflect the quality parts that have gone into it. Mercedes parts have yielded a Ford Taurus that breaks down all too frequently! The purpose of this review is to speak of my respect for Steve Deace the man and the fan. The UM football team would be a Top 10 contender if it managed to display the same quality and intelligence that this man presents every week win or lose. I still want OSU to beat UM every single year, but i truly wish Steve Deace well and hope that the UM program will somehow earn the love and loyalty of this man by finding the key to producing the type of teams he will feel proud of. Go Steve! Go Bucks! Go UM! JBishop

94 Yards of Offense totalBest UofM Pod AnywhereWell, what can I say? The title says it all! Hands down the best Michigan podcast on the market. This program will expand your knowledge of the athletic department no matter your insights. Steve is an entertaining and analytical mastermind in my opinion. This man will break down the teams and sport using advanced metrics and spells it out for his listeners in a layman’s terms type of breakdown. I couldn’t ask for a better podcast in regards to my interest in the greatest university on this planet. Give it a listen, you will be glad you did! Good luck to all and Go Blue!
