    Great but a problem
James Richardson is not the best host, he keeps stopping in the middle of the sentence for no reason, not the best, could try to change. However the content on this podcast is still great.

    Ads Central
It’s a pretty good podcast, but I had to stop listening because I couldn’t cope with the volume of ads. It felt like I was skipping several advert breaks, multiple times per episode. Even if you do skip the breaks, now actual segments of the podcast are sponsored, so it’s impossible to avoid.

    The Best
Simply the best football podcast there is. Also more James Pierce!

    Used to Love
Then the host felt it was appropriate to tell His listeners that he only cares about the ones following on blue sky. Once again, far left has to put themselves in an echo chamber and pretend to have morals, while using an app that has had “protect minor attracted persons” trend multiple times, that has celebrated any violent and murderours attempts on people’s lives (including United healthcare ceo), while also constantly promoting anti-semitism… only for the host to tell us that people that use blue sky are better than those “on the old app” (his words) and that he basically ignores any questions we send in via X. British journalists are the worst

Where Jimbo goes rightminded ppl follow
no more Adrian Arsenal Clarke. for the love of god. Otherwise, simply the best UK based football pod, by far. (Only Second Captains, Irish, on football is as good...or possibly better, heresy I know.) The Jimbo/Honigstein bromance is beautiful, real and dare I say, sweet. No wonder Glendenning is so bitter. On a side note. Laurens is a buffoon and shouldn’t be on, and certainly shouldn’t be allowed talk about France or PSG. Not a real journalist. Gallic apologist. PS Never, ever again allow Rafa Honigstein to go backpacking across Europe or whatever it was he did on his Guardiola sabbatical. Not the same without him. but for the love of all that is holy please please please dump Adrian Clarke who is simply an Arsenal booster. He is unlistenable.

    In praise of Carl Anka
Listeners, we are so lucky. Carl Anka is smarter than the rest of us, he’s smarter than everyone working at the top level of the game … he could literally do anything, but — Bless — he has decided to spend his life second-guessing the split-second decisions of 19-year-olds under an intensity of pressure he’ll never know. I mean, with his enormous intelligence, he could have reshaped the field of particle physics, but instead he writes books for 3 year olds and has Real Big Thoughts about Manchester United’s midfield. Hey, maybe we could put him and Duncan Alexander into the same pod and fire it into the sun? Then they could finally realize their destiny to be rocket scientists and we could all go back to enjoying football.

    Greenwood love in
I don’t think Laurens can truly like a player until they have heinous sex crimes known about them, it’s honestly impressive, he just does it for the love of the game

    Better with a different host
James Richardson is a tough listen. Great idea for a show with a not so great host. Make Matt-Davies Adams the host.
  • MK2817
    Pretty good
I used to love this pod but I feel like it’s declined in recent years. Rotating guests make it difficult for the host to have chemistry with them. Duncan is a lovely bloke but can be a bit of a tough listen - he just throws out stats and references that don’t add much to the conversation. He’s not a great analyst or storyteller.

    Must listen
I consistently listen to and enjoy most episodes of the show each week and would recommend the same to any other football fan. I was thinking about writing a review but unsure exactly what I wanted to say. I see some of the other reviews are very negative and find that surprising and some even for reasons that are disheartening to say the least. Thank you for providing a voice and recognition to those who may not otherwise easily find it.

    Nice but… photos?
Decent pod. As a suscribir to a number of soccer/football pods-yes I am an American- it’s unusual to me that you don’t have photos up on the Apple pod feed. Is this a security concern? Perhaps y’all are too shy? Or unfortunately y’all are too embarrassed by your appearances to have them posted? I would hope not as the banter you provide is very entertaining. Best, Mark

Just not as good as football weekly
If you don’t have a Barry then you really have to ask yourself what are you doing. Jimbo lost his work friend and hasn’t been able to recover as far as I am concerned.

    Erotic Package Deal
Daniel Storey/Adrian Clarke. Im gonna be more shocked than I was when Doogie Houser came out

    Enough of Natalie and jim.
Good banter, good knowledge but please for the life of me please stop booking Natalie and Lynsey ……. Natalie brings absolutely nothing to the show. She struggles to express herself in English and if she’s not talking about Brazilian domestic players she’s useless. She also struggles so badly to speak English she can’t even express a proper point….. just gibberish. And Lynsey made one of the worst arguments I’ve ever heard in football by claiming teams in the WC that have already advanced are disrespectful to their opponents if they rest their own players……… I’m sorry is this the World Cup or an 6 year old local kick about for charity?? Lol what a joke. So many smart football minds available and this is who you’re booking??? Laughable Jim is also just a laughable host..... brings nothing to the table except asking clickbait type questions. I get playing devil's advocate, but he's taken it to an embarrassing level. He gets fooled by whatever click bait garbage he sees on twitter and takes it for serious conversation starters.

The show itself is fairly good, but some of the English journalists they have speaking talk as if they are recording for asmr. Very hushed tones and near whispers. I find it hard to continue listening to the points they make due to this and often turn it off early. Please speak up a bit.
  • Forty Acres
    Consistent
Update: show remains terrific. Having sai it, the unending campaign to include women’s club banter is boring, unnecessary, and serves merely to build the journalist’s “i’m woke approved” badge count. Tiresome and not listener requested. Show is tops in consistency. I look forward to each episode . Content and pundits are insightful and not merely on re: pol agenda ( well, for the most part. Jim pitches his misplaced energy agenda, too). Please buy Natalie and Mauricio operating microphones… or rescue the two as they must be down a well.

    Euro edition is the best
Love the euro coverage! Alvaro does an amazing job covering Spanish football and the entire crew is also great. I need the stats guru to find out an answer to this question: when is the most likely time for different individual strikers to score? My attention is on Mbappe. It seems that he almost always scores in the 90th minute. Is that because he doesn’t defend so he has the legs to take on tired defenders? It’s just so common it seems to find him scoring in the dying minutes of a game. I am a Real Madrid fan, so you know that scoring on us first is a mistake. We normally leave it late to score and I attribute it to superior athletes not tiring. But wow, mbappe scores I late winner every time I check PSG stats. Anyway, the above is the kind of question that Jules and The James’s, Alvaro and the many other contributors are talking about and make this top three football pods. Producer Charlie, I’m glad you’re back! We don’t forget you!

Please stop alluding to game results in episodes titles!
Love the show. My only complaint is please, please, PLEASE stop spoiling game results in the episode titles! Lots of people all over the globe are unable to watch games live and often this podcast will come out before they are able to. It’s a small thing sure, but having to avoid looking at your podcast feed in case of a spoiler is remarkably annoying. You can easily come up with a title laying out the big talking points of the show without alluding to the results. This is basic podcast etiquette, please figure this out!

Mostly great… some contributors you skip over.
I began listening to Jimbo way back in 2015 and came along with him on the Totally ride. I have always enjoyed his love for Serie A and his humor. Jimbo has always been a voice of reason and classy with his puns and always makes sure the listener is never forgotten. The other contributors can be very interesting (Duncan with his stats and humor, Cox with his contrarian but interesting takes, Rafa with his nuanced take) or irritating and meriting a fast forward (Laurens with his psg heavy takes and Carl Anka with his fan like unbalanced take on United). Alvaro covering Spain has been a welcome recent addition.

    This is a great podcast
    I enjoy it.

    The worst of the lot
There are a lot of good football podcasts and I can safely say this one is the worst. I have too much time on my hands, and am routinely more well informed than the journalists on the pod. Why do I waste more time on this? Commutes.
  • Foltz24
    Best of its kind
After the “split” with The Guardian Football Weekly pod, I stayed with the Guardian for a few years before eventually listening to both. Seeing Football Weekly get increasingly bleak and cynical - and seemingly hating my club to the point our match “analysis” was purely about non-soccer related matters - I’ve said goodbye to the Guardian and made the full transition. You can always rely on Jimbo to take the piss out of every club! He’s the best in the biz and Cox, Storey, Alexander, Davies-Adams, and the international journalists are standout. Could do with less Carl Anka with his shameless United fandom and uninspired takes.

Needs some TLC then all is good
Genuinely enjoy the show and am always charmed by James and his plethora of rotating journos, particularly Daniel Storey who is always *chefs kiss*. Two things tho: 1) Please, for gods sake, enough with the gambling sponsorship. Paddy Power can absolutely kiss the skinniest whitest posterior on my body. The absolute dregs, find a less godawful way of sponsoring your show. 2) Julien Laurens: no

    Excessive Ads
I get the need for advertising on free podcasts but the number of ads has really gotten a bit too much. I’ve been listening to this since episode 1 and I’m really disappointed with what this program has become. I’ve also always found the gambling ad posing as a segment to be particularly distasteful. I generally just shut it off as soon as I hear it’s time to check in on the odds with paddy power.

    The best
The European edition is simply the best. Period. Not remotely debatable. It’s like listening to your friends talk football but they actually know what they are talking about.

    Carl Is awful
Sad excuse for a journalist, the reason I hate my generation.
  • ThePityMan
Sadly, no longer a pod, just a market place
I thought it odd when listening to an unending barrage of commercial stings, 4 people would occasionally interrupt to talk about football. Sadly a formerly fluid and entertaining show has simply become a billboard for commerce and in the end dilutes any audio pleasure in the process.
  • Hrdflr
    Duncan Donuts
His voice could make a woman orgasm whilst put a man to sleep. So thanks to him I never hear the end of those podcasts and the girls no longer in the mood.
  • 15Letters
Great combination of insights, nerdiness, and lots of bad jokes.
The summer quiz series (The Inter-Totally Cup) was perfect. And though it was content created out of necessity, and in response to a pandemic pausing sports, it represents the kind of joyful, insightful, and silly experiences this show can produce.
  • Nico_________
    Thank you James Richardson
I will follow Jimbo to the ends of the earth.
  • JoseangelB
    Just not that great
Once they split from football weekly of course I followed. However, recently, all you need to do is listen to the Europe pod with all the top guys. Their domestic shows (Monday and Thursday) suffer from nerd pundits dumb stats. Someone like Michael Cox deserves better people to bounce off of.

    The Totally LFC Show
I know it’s what selling at the mo but while the same crew with their LFC fan producer seemed to be able to reign it in when at the Guardian, they have slowly degenerated since the split into seemingly having a cast of LFC fans dominating the show Jimbo seems jaded by it all at this point, I think I am too
  • legaleagle22
    Football Weekly lite
It started our strong but it’s turned into Guardian Football Weekly with worse chemistry and more ads, and in particular a ton of gambling ads. Its tournament coverage is really excellent and unique, but otherwise it’s not essential.

    More ads than football
Yikes. I’m wondering if we could cram more ads in here - did anyone know this was officially sponsored by paddy power? And that there’s a new website? Let’s also talk about how the ads are about twice as loud as the actual content. I’ll stick to other footy pods.

    Poor taste.
Always loved you Jimbo, but the joke about the Norfolk fingers is way, way beneath you. Distasteful, which is something I had never reckoned with you.

    The Thunder-God of Football Podcasts
James Richardson is a deity in the football podcast world for a reason. A great presenter, equally at home in audio and video formats, with razor sharp wit and capacity to keep his cohorts on the ball and the conversation moving forward. This podcast still hasn't reached the dizzying heights the Guardian one did when James was presenting, and it may never do. The Totally Show drew the short straw when it came to splitting up the cast, with the Guardian keeping most of the top contributors (Honigstein and possibly Cox aside), and their recruitment since then is not as sharp as their adversary’s. Still, this is a really good podcast and the presence of James makes it a “must listen” most weeks.

    AC Jimbo til I die
There was a hole in my heart (and two in my head) once James Richardson left football weekly. He’s back and ha brought all my favorite pundits along with him. The right balance of subtle humor while remaining focused on the footy ensures new episodes are always at the top of my queue Check out Golazzo which is fantastic too.

    Brilliant
AC Jimbo is the best podcast host around. Terrrific panels. Love the show!

    Unsuccessful Ole
Listening and you have some idiot saying Ole has been an unsuccessful manager. I guess winning the league with Molde after they had not won for a billion years is nothing. I guess coming back after the Cardiff episode and taking them to 2nd is also nothing. Getting Molde out of a tough CL group is nothing. But hey.
