I admire his dedication to skepticism but I cannot respect anyone who thinks he could actually “return to Christianity” without it being a grift.

Treating the Bible as if it is actually a series of historical documents and not a strange amalgam of mythology with a little bit of history sprinkled in is very problematic. For example, there is no archaeological evidence that the Jews were enslaved in Egypt. That’s a big historical problem. We should be more skeptical of claims of history without actual documentation than this podcast is, and for the host to criticize atheists on this point when he admits that this is not his area of specialty undermines the credibility of the entire show.

Aside from that, the gist of his material is similar to other atheist Internet material, none of which is particularly persuasive and all of which is adequately answered by most studied apologists. I find myself more secure in my faith after listening - if this is the best the atheist arsenal has, faith is in good shape.

His format and guitar licks… straight fire.

If I could rate this 10 stars, I would. Emerson does a fantastic job providing clarity on a wide range of topics. His soothing voice is a bonus.

Emerson’s voice is so warm and welcoming as he skillfully and logically breaks down theism.

Emerson really does his homework and I appreciate his work and his honesty. I know he did this in part because of how Reasonable Doubts helped me. God, I miss that podcast. It was funny and smart and irreverent. Emerson is much more cerebral, which is also great, just know what you're getting into. It's just him, you're not doing this for the humor or the repartee of Reasonable Doubts.

Thank you for addressing all of my issues and helping me understand why I had so much cognitive dissonance for so long, growing up Protestant/non denominational Christian church. This deconstruction of my childhood and young adult faith has been truly painful but necessary and the more I learn, the more confident I feel that I owe it to my children to never give them the complicated baggage I’ve had in my religion. Thank you.

This show helped me while I was deliberating whether I still believed in god or not. The host seems to have a better grasp on philosophy of religion than other atheist podcasts I’ve listed to. It was much easier to leap from my weak-theism to atheism after listening to several episodes!

It's great to find a podcast focused on arguments that I hear all the time, whether formally from Christian apologists or concerned religious family members. As an ex-Christian in a Christian nation, I'm always on the lookout for resources to help me polish my objections. I appreciate the format; the episodes are concise and informative.

I highly recommend giving this podcast a listen. The topics are relevant and interesting. I always listen to a new episode when it comes out!

Noah Lugeons’ diatribes are great, but not always useful in arguments with fundamentalists. Emerson’s cool rationality is useful while still cutting to the bone. He explores each argument in its entirety and makes no apologies.

Informative and soothing.

This is a very good podcast. Discussion on counter apologetics usually gets my heart rate up but this dudes voice is very calming and helps me focus so that I can learn. I’d put this up there with Dogma Debate as a choice podcast for heretics, atheist, and heathens everyone!

One of the Best podcasts ever.

To-the-point examinations of relevant and oft-cited apologetic claims as well as responses to the usual rebuttals. Perhaps because of his evangelical upbringing, Green addresses the material with a great acumen for those pesky illogical hangups which plague the (especially) Christian believer. Good production, music, and episode length. On my Best of the Best list. Keep it up.

This is a great show about (as advertised) counter apologetics! Since Reasonable Doubts went away I've been looking for a show like that & this is it! Great show Emerson!!!

These bite-size counter-arguments against theism in general and Christianity in particular are researched deeply and presented quite articulately. I appreciate the way he uses audio excerpts from both sides to strengthen his arguments.

I’ve really enjoyed this podcast since I found out about it from the Scathing Atheist! It’s meticulously researched, but the topics are always explained in a very to-the-point, friendly, and accessible way. I’m always happy when a new episode shows up! Thanks for your hard work!

If you are truly open to discussion hear me out. I’m not asking you to convert to Christianity and I’m not seeking to argue with you, but I am a believer that if you really want to know if there’s a God and if the Bible is true, open it and read it. Ask God to reveal Himself to you, He promises that if you truly search for Him you will find Him. He wants you to converse with Him. He wants you to look at the evidence and see if what He says is true. Look at the prophesies that have been fulfilled, and the archaeological accuracy of the Bible. There are tons of manuscripts that back up the text, including the Dead Sea Scrolls. There are non Christian historical documents that record similar events that happened in the Bible, such as Jesus life. Jesus has changed my life and I’m passionate to tell others how much He loves them too and what He’s done for them even if they think I’m an idiot or they hate me. Sorry for the long review, I just want you to have the same great gift that I have which is knowing God the Father through His Son Jesus Christ by His Spirit. I really looked forward to this podcast. I get so excited every time that I get a notification for it. I just wish there was more! I have listen to every episode, some twice.

I can’t tell you how much I can thank you. In one podcast episode you have given me a look at what you call counter apologetics. This has really opened my eyes to how ignorant some people can be, and shown me ways that I can fight this. A good bit of everything you quoted from the Bible (or at least in the Child Abuse episode) was simply taken out of context. If you say “I hit a girl” taken out of context, can mean something entirely different than “I hit a girl because she viciously attacked me with a club”, and makes you think something very differently about the person. Also, all the stuff that you say about Christians doesn’t necessarily apply to all Christians. I’m a Christian, and to say that all Christians are perfect would be against all our beliefs and doctrines. Our very core belief that Jesus came as a sacrifice to save us from the sins we commit every day so that we can go to heaven and be with Him is the very evidence of that. Thank you for this look into counter apologetics, and thank you for emboldening me in my own Apologetics (or counter counter apologetics) for defending Christianity. I do wish I could say more, but this is already a very long comment. I will be praying for all of you to see the Truth through your attempt at counter apologetics. Merry Christmas!
