Justin Does Social WorkUnfortunately I can’t move to Utah!I discovered your show last year and have come to really enjoy it. The recent episode on social work and gun violence had thoughtful perspective. I love how you guys are less idealistic and more realistic, sticking to the evidence base as a guide for what’s effective and what’s not. I also simply enjoy your banter…no joke, if I lived closer to you guys and Utah, I’d definitely be applying to work for Alpha! I think you guys would be fun to collaborate with!

Llamashea89Please :)Can you PLEASE do an episode on juvenile offenders??? I’m a child welfare worker and we have so many kids (10-18) in SOMB for things like fondling siblings or “consensual” acts. I’m confused by how these cases are treated by the criminal justice system (in CO we arrest/convict at 10) and what treatment is like, as well as how likely these kids are to reoffend. I’m interested in your thoughts and any other info you have that would be informative for other social workers in my position!

Clean and SereneLove it!Finally! Real life talk, theory and approaches towards difficult topics and social work. I finally found my tribe!! I had even started questioning if the field was right for me... thanks for putting a name to what I had so been feeing... “Guerrilla” social worker. Nailed it. Thanks for the podcast guys.

Jaxx_WaxxHumor + Client Focused= Social Work at it’s best!Highly recommend this podcast to those truly interested in helping vulnerable populations & doing so with humanity & humor. I really enjoy the dynamics within the guerrilla crew. However, I do have a complaint... y’all take to long to release new episodes. I enjoy “binge listening” to this podcast but would settle for at least 1 new episode a month? Maybe? Please?

JenWellLove itI work at a state hospital as a psychiatric social worker and can relate to the intersection of the legal/treatment requirements. It’s awesome to hear real talk and not overly politically correct language that most podcasts have. This is hard work and there needs to be levity! Good work guys!

CzarinaKGreat perspectivesAs a woman social worker surrounded by other women social workers, I love whenever I get a male social worker perspective. I especially love that these guys work with such a challenging population. Really great topics and really great conversation. Keep it up, guys!

chuglife69Real niceYou guys remind me a lot of Jocko Willink except more applicable to my field of study. Giving a 4 only because I haven’t listened to the bulk of the podcast. Good stuff!

Sc123459EhhhhI really wanted to like this podcast, and have a lot of respect for their goal of changing the way we think about sexual offenders, and how we treat and rehabilitate (or fail to) them in our society. Even though I am very liberal, I appreciated their critique of the field being closed off to intellectual diversity. However, listening to their episode about sexual assault was cringe worthy- as a woman and as someone who has experienced sexual assault. They seem confused and uninformed about the ins and outs of sexual assault from a victims perspective, and almost blasé about the topic. It seems a working understanding of consent and the impacts of sexual assault would be necessary to rehabilitate sexual offenders. I would urge these guys to keep advocating for a more rehabilitative approach to treating sexual offenders while also becoming more competent in the impacts and realities of sexual violence. They are so articulate and passionate when discussing their work, but really stumbled when discussing actual sexual assault.
