rchg09The original Bible Binge was SO much betterThe original Bible stories were a great insight. The current topics are very liberal. Which is concerning given this is supposed to be a Christian podcast.
-
DHA2382More & More DisappointingI used to really enjoy Faith Adjacent & really (still) enjoy the hosts, but I do feel like this podcast is getting further and further away from its original roots (and maybe that’s intentional?). Quite frankly, I’m over the politics of it all (but you can’t say that these days because then you’re insensitive and bigoted). What is marketed as a “come one come all” podcast now feels very “come one come all, but only if you feel the way we do”. I’ll pick and choose what episodes I listen to because I do enjoy the topics, but lately I’m choosing to listen to less and less.

oliveia olaughia oloveiaDisappointedOver time, Faith Adjacent has evolved, which is why the new name feels fitting. What started as an exploration of faith and spirituality has gradually shifted into a platform that focuses more on the flaws of the Bible and Christianity. While it's clear that the podcast seeks to encourage questioning and introspection, the tone sometimes crosses into the realm of mockery. It’s particularly ironic, and honestly a bit frustrating, how often they discuss the importance of loving others, yet the way they mock and belittle a group of people (particularly those who hold different beliefs). There’s a contradiction in the way they approach the concept of compassion. At times, it feels like their critique of Christianity and the Bible comes at the expense of genuinely understanding or respecting the beliefs of others. It’s tough to reconcile the “love everyone” rhetoric with the tone of mockery that often accompanies their commentary. I was listening to old episodes of That Sounds Fun by Annie F Downs and was so excited to come listen to this podcast but I was quickly let down with their tone. I love the Popcast.
-
jenlkbo27I miss the old formatGuys please leave the politics out! I use to love this podcast, it was one of my favorites (I’m even a patreon member) but I’m so tired of the politics talk. For a lot of people podcasts are an escape from the real world and coming here to hear preaching and complaining and repeating over and over your opinions regarding political issues is exhausting. Can’t remember the last time I actually finished an episode bc the second I hear something political I turn it off.

Meredith AdkissonA Breath of Fresh Air!This podcast is a true gem! In a world filled with noise, it's refreshing to find a space where the focus is genuinely on loving God and loving others. What truly sets this podcast apart is its commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment for listeners to explore their faith. Erin, Evan, Jamie, and Knox don't shy away from difficult questions, but rather encourage thoughtful discussion and the seeking of diverse perspectives. The hosts have a wonderful way of balancing deep spiritual insights with a lighthearted and engaging approach. It feels like having a conversation with trusted friends. Whether you're a lifelong believer or just beginning your spiritual journey, you'll find something valuable here.
-
Jen from State FarmI miss the old podI miss the old Bible Binge format where hosts would go deep on a subject and bring greater insight to it. The current format with Erin and Evan isn’t as interesting. I’m cleaning up my old podcasts and listen ex to the post-election podcast and am shocked at the amount of struggle the hosts are having and are assuming others are having just because their candidate didn’t win. Move on, realize that we have another chance to make a difference in 4 short years. Its pathetic.
-
Carolina CandilloShould stick to pop cultureI believe that they mislead Christians and do more harm than good. When I have listened I feel worse after doing so. Listen if you want to hear people mock Christianity and purity culture but other than that I would stay away.
-
The Rev KMYPerspective that’s not preciousThis is the perfect show for anyone courageous enough to think about what they believe and why. If you get that God has a sense of humor, you will love learning from and growing with Erin, Evan, Jamie & Knox. It’s a must listen.
-
SD Native, MN PlantedWarm and thoughtful discussions on FaithErin, Jamie and Evan bring a fun blend of serious and snarky to all things Faith.
-
SewingbuttonsSoothes Holiday NervesJust re-listened to the 2023 Christmas Confessions episode as a warm up before facing a long Thanksgiving Week and it was perfect (as all the episodes are), but Evan saying “Gentle rebuke on that” to the Elf’s name being Twinkie was just precisely the kind of interaction I needed to hear today. All the love for this show.
-
Park full of benchesAdjacent is accurate. You might as well go to a Unitarian church where every religion is the path to heaven, because this does not represent the Holy Bible. They mock Christians and pretend they know more. Anyone who thinks Disney is biblical isn’t reading the Bible. Christians are told not to be ‘of the world’ and you clearly are.

afl337This Podcast is a Balm to My Weary SoulLike others have said, listening to this group is like sitting in a room with your best friends chat. You admire them, root for them, look up to them, and even disagree with them at times. They challenge you and encourage you to sit in the unknown. The peace this podcast has brought to my faith journey has been so healing. I’ve felt religiously and politically adrift for years - untethered to any particular school of thought outside of loving Jesus and my neighbor. I’ve wrestled for years in the muck trying to find some sense. These beautiful souls have given me language I didn’t have before and nurtured a curiosity I thought was my ultimate character flaw. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve screamed YES in the car more times than I can count. They make me feel less alone on this floating rock. They’re worth the listen, I pinky promise.

HduesBring back the old way!I’ve listed to FA/BB for years and loved it, but man, this new format is just falling flat for me. The old deep dives into Bible stories or characters were amazing and thought provoking. Knox and Jamie can carry a show. Erin and Evan, while I love them both, are too much of the same person, so the show doesn’t drive like it used to. I use to wait for a new episode, but now I listen eventually just to see if it hits like the old ones.
-
Share95Real People, Real ChristiansErin, Jamie, Evan, and Knox are relatable, funny, and so much fun! They provided me a voice to describe some of the things that I’ve experienced growing in the church and for that I’m so thankful! I used to think that I was the only one that struggled with certain things, and was so grateful when I came across this through the Popcast. Thank you guys so much! 🤍

Chataine's GuardianOpen Hearts and Open MindsThe one thing I know about my faith and beliefs is that I really don’t know near as much as I once thought I did. Jesus is central and always will be!!!! Evan, Jamie, Erin, and Knox take the listeners to places that are thought-provoking, fun, serious, and ridiculous. I always laugh and I always have something to think about, research, and pray over. Love this podcast! Love these 4 individuals (not in a creepy way). Evan is delightful, learned, caring, and I love it when Evan gets a bit nervous and starts sweating. Erin is a hoot while have a lot of knowledge. Jamie is open and many times off the rails which is a wild ride. Don’t read the reviews from those that only gave you 1 star. They are angry and misguided people albeit with faith. G-D doesn’t need our protection or righteous anger, HE wants a relationship with us which means we LOVE HIM with all that we are and we LOVE Others! Loving others doesn’t include the 1 star comments. Love you!!!!!
-
RoRoRow Your BoatOh my *5* Stars!! Clutch my pearls!I LOVE this podcast! It is equal parts thought-provoking, open-handed soul-searching and laugh out loud alone in your car (or accidentally in a public coffee shop). Life went sideways for a few months so I now have the glorious opportunity to play catch up and binge 3 months of episodes. Just listened to “Praise hands of gratitude” and laughed literally out loud no less than 5 times. I also had a random friend reach out about faith and the LGBTQIA+ community in the church and was able to share that incredible episode. If you are digging deeper in your faith or sifting through “what you’ve always been told” or just curious about the Christian faith in general, Faith Adjacent is a welcome breath of fresh air!
-
chrischappyDisappointedThe original Bible Binge was a show that read, explored, and discussed scripture. Questions were raised and a thoughtful interpretation was offered. It was a show that led todays listeners to read the Bible. Over time the podcast has evolved, hence the new name Faith Adjacent, into a platform that tends to focus on the flaws of the Bible and Christianity. As a Christian the show’s new focus and tireless rants make me feel flawed, ignorant and hopeless. While I have felt this way for the past 6 - 8 months, I’ve continued to follow and listen to the show hoping that the flaws and rants would subside. I’m just disappointed in various ways.
-
MrgreentieWoke Fake “Christians”This podcast is 0% Christian and 100% Worship of Satan and self. Most recent episode has: A male host talking about lusting after another man’s body. Open mockery of abstinence in favor of rampant sexual sin. Open blasphemy regarding a woman’s place via the literal word of God. Basically saying Christians for following the Bible is misogynistic. Anti-Christian values. Essentially this is a progressive LGBTQ sin worship, of this world not of God, podcast hosted by 3 confused, unrepentant, wolves in sheep’s clothing.
-
DaniShootsFilmApparently the word of God doesn’t matter anymoreNo, I don’t think hearing a guy talk about being attracted to another guy’s body belongs on a Christian podcast. No, I don’t think y’all should say purity culture will land you in therapy and sleeping around before marriage is totally fine. What happened happened that made y’all stray so much?? Feel like Satan took the wheel on this last episode.
-
C.CatonBiblically Sound AND Funny? Yes pleaseJamie, Knox, Evan, and Erin’s approach to Christianity is refreshingly humble, humorous, and historically accurate. The nuance and context they provide has deepened my faith and let me know I’m not alone on my faith walk.
-
AnsbitLove love loveJamie, Knox, and Erin invite everyone to the table in the way they graciously discuss all things faith. They truly give space for everyone and it’s so refreshing. I am comforted and uplifted every time I listen. And also I laugh which is maybe the most important. Thanks for giving us permission to “faith” differently. Love you guys!
-
Cj4!4Thank youThe podcast started my faith journey and I will truly miss the classic episodes. Thank you all for your time and perspectives.
-
rampitup84Great Bible study companionThese two are hilarious, humble and insightful. What a combo. Highly recommended if you want to review your understanding of classic characters as well as gain new perspectives. I’ve downloaded almost all episodes onto a USB drive in case they ever take them off. It does bother me that Jaime never laughs at Knox’s hilarious intros jk jk
-
GabbymillsMy eyes are openedErin, Thank you so much for your thoughtful and informative historical context of what is currently happening in the Middle East. As someone who was raised in the Midwest as a white evangelical woman the last part of the podcast regarding Israel being a ‘means to an end’ was just staggeringly eye opening. Growing up that world view was the water I swam in and I was today years old when I realized it. Wow! I have always been a huge fan of the work you do and have subscribed to everything you write and today you have done the Lord’s work in me. My heart is forever changed. Thank you and keep fighting for what you believe in- it’s so worth it!! Steph
-
Amp_1213It’s okayNot at all biblically sound, but funny at times.
-
dymobileYou were here right when I needed youThank you for being here right when I was praying for something like this. I have to introduce my teenage children to church for the first time and this is what I want them to hear before I bring them. Thank you
-
77sjostrJust what I've been searching forThank you all for facilitating these awesome discussions. My heart has been searching for content that helps me re-examine ideals I have been taught my whole life. It is refreshing to hear different takes about Christianity, personal faith, growth and community. Well done.
-
catann1998__Thankful for the Permission to ReconsiderI’m so thankful for the Faith Adjacent team and all of their studying, careful though, and kind intentions towards their listeners. They don’t need me to defend them, but to all of the individuals leaving hate reviews—I wish you would pause to consider that they are simply giving us permission to reconsider the things we have learned. Otherwise, many of us would have left the faith all together. To be alive is to grow and change. If our faith is alive, of course, it will be evolving constantly. Thanks Erin, Jamie, Knox, and team. You are so appreciated and doing good, holy work.
-
ackorbAWESOMEI just discovered this gem! I’m trying to eliminate unnecessary expenses (I got rid of cable) and also detoxify my brain from Social Media mess! Podcast & good old fashioned reading are my new M.O while also shifting my focus towards gratitude & kindness.I’ve only listen to one episode-Adam &Eve. I will be trying to listen to these in order. The content was great & I loved the humor. I keep picturing the Bible story books that were in the doctors and dentists office of my childhood. I’m hoping you’ll make a reference to those at some point. Thanks for your hard work!
-
stevenzackHonest DiscussionI really appreciate the honors conversations on this podcast. The Kid You Not episode have helped me to stop stressing about how I guide my kids and start thinking about what works for our family.
-
charlottejane17A breath of fresh airAs someone who has been renovating her faith, the candor and emotional honesty of this show has given me confidence in leaning into my personal, unique relationship with God and Jesus.
-
AmsyDeesThis is great.Just wanted to let y’all know I love the Gays, I don’t care where or if Erin gets/has a degree. I do think Knox and Jamie are a little full of themselves sometimes, but not always, and when they are, I’m here for it. In all seriousness, this podcast has helped me really come to terms with what I actually believe about God. It’s insightful, honest, helpful, kind, and open.
-
sdgerowGreat showI am a longtime popcast listener and also enjoy Faith Adjacent. It challenges me to think more deeply about my faith. Do I agree with everything they say? No, and that’s ok! To loosely quote Aristotle, “the mark of an educated mind is the ability to entertain a thought without accepting it”
-
MhantzschelThank you! This podcast has helped me start to ask nuanced questions and unpack and examine my faith in a way that truly feels authentic and Spirit Driven. Thank you Erin and the entire team for the space you have created
-
Kappin21The best!!!This is one of the absolute best podcasts out right now. I have listened to every episode and they are amazing!!
-
AmyCatintheWildHelps me feel normalLove the Bible Binge/Faith Adj pod! As a midlife deconstructor-putting the pieces back together girl, I end every episode looking in the mirror saying, See? You’re not so not normal.
-
ChloeLantzThe bestI’m a whole pastor’s spouse & this is hands down my favorite faith(ish) podcast. I have a complicated relationship with the church & Faith Adjacent brings the joy & laughter back into faith discussions.
-
RDA_1986Way downhillThis podcast was great but they have sacrificed diving into the word deeper for popularity with the world’s standards now. Another casualty in the name of “progress”…..
-
I've tried them allContent went downhillUsed to enjoy this show, but the content and tone changed over time, shifting the focus to politics and a cynical distaste for those who come from a different background or perspective rather than focusing on how much Christians actually have in common. After a while, church bashing just gets a little tiresome and not enjoyable. Having lived in Alabama I understand their annoyance; having also lived in New York, I can’t help thinking they clearly have no experience of the annoying aspects of the other side of the coin. There used to be a humble, humorous, honest look at the Bible… but that’s not the tone anymore. When you think everyone who doesn’t see the world exactly like you is narrow-minded, maybe it’s time to look in the mirror.
-
Calico254Skip this PodcastUsed to love this podcast and recommended it to so many people, but they have changed so much. So disappointing to see their lack of respect for God’s word. It’s honestly very sad. Entertaining maybe, but ZERO biblical truth in this podcast. Please be careful when listening to this podcast. Proceed with caution!
-
Rachael AndersonUsed to be a Patreon memberI used to be a Patreon member of both Popcast and BB. I told everyone about this show, bought both of Knox’s books. While I think they are talented and funny hosts while discussing pop culture, I finally had to unfollow both podcasts. I think they are steering people away from the true Gospel with their progressiveness. If you think one story in the Bible isn’t true, why believe any of it? You can’t pick and choose what you think scripture is saying just because it’s ‘not cool’ to say homosexual behavior is a sin. You can’t outlove God. He is love.
-
mstarstockPerfectionFor some people, delivery of scripture in a overly reverent fashion is a barrier to knowing Christ and deepening Faith. Christian Schmaltz is my kryptonite, and it’s everywhere. This podcast has changed my life. I hope the naysayers can open their hearts and realize God calls to all His children in different ways. This is the way He has reached me.
-
MM.BakerA safe place to ask questionsI was spinning in Faith free zone for years after a personal tragedy. This podcast and its honesty and hilarity slowly pulled me back into orbit and I finally feel in a healthy enough space to re-engage with my faith. Thank you so much.
-
laurakbeckwriterDisappointingReally liked earlier content but the more I listened there were some major issues that couldn’t be overlooked. Plus, I tried to contact the show through two channels and they were unresponsive. It’s been weeks and I still haven’t heard a thing. I would’ve considered coming back as a listener if I had received a valid response but not responding at all I just can’t.
-
Ia this nickname taken?I like Leviticus! 😂 (in response to LGBTQIA+ episode)I didn’t know where else to comment, and y’all said you wanted to hear from someone who likes Leviticus. I was not excited about reading Leviticus earlier this year, but I hard the Spirit say, “look for Jesus” as you read, and boy did I see Jesus EVERYWHERE. The instructions of the building the Tabernacle aren’t exciting, but the Tabernacle itself is a GORGEOUS representation of Christ. Reading about all the sacrifices the Israelites had to do to attempt to atone for their sins makes it stunningly clear that we can’t ever atone for our sins without the blood of Christ, and makes it abundantly clear how desperately we need Jesus. Reading about sins isn’t fun, but again - it’s outlining how desperately we need Jesus. Love y’all, and God bless! ❤️
-
Hotrods340LoveI love this podcast!! It’s literally the best.
-
NovafallPuffed UpThese hosts are incredibly judgmental. They are so sure they are right on every topic they cover and they misrepresent opposing opinions in pretty much every episode. I appreciate their friendship and funny banter. It would be great if they would actually engage with some heavy hitters who have differing opinions. I would love to hear them have a thoughtful discussion with believers who hold different viewpoints. Unfortunately, I think they’re too proud of their own opinions to welcome much push back.
-
LT3786Why?I have been a long time listener of TBB. I enjoyed the show, not always agreeing but I’m fine with listening when I don’t agree. There has been a shift in the show over the past year. The constant mocking of the church, while I know it’s flawed I don’t understand the mocking and putting down of people. In the beginning of your podcasts you were building your company on the backs of the community of these white southern churchgoers you seem to have so much disdain for now.
-
jmeek050 stars, so sad, un-followingAll I got to say is maybe you need to re-binge your Bible. Maybe start in Romans 1:27 and also Remind yourself that ALL SCRIPTURE is GOD BREATHED. That we can’t pick and chose to accept certain verses because it’s uncool etc. This is what scares me about the church today. We are allowing satan to convince us that certain scriptures no longer apply. That it’s easier to just go along then stand up for how God created our unique bodies. How completely arrogant are people who think they know better or more than God? Saying how He created you is wrong is extremely arrogant and Christian’s who do this should take a long hard look at creation and how God intended for marriage and love to be. I could go on but I will leave it at this.
