The Positivity We All Need

After reading The Complete Smartist Guide and The Creative Business Handbook by Ekaterina Popova and Alicia Puig, I started listening to this podcast - and it has been exactly what I needed. I am an artist almost ready to quit my day job. Balancing my two “lives” isn’t easy, but listening to Kat interview artist after artist, along with art business gurus, has been incredibly inspiring. She has curated a collection of episodes that blend just the right amount of girl-boss energy with healing, trauma-informed practices, and practical know-how. I appreciate the art biz insights, but it’s Kat’s overall positive and resilient approach to life, art, and business that keeps me coming back. This is one of the first podcasts I have regularly listened to, drawn in by Kat’s sincerity and willingness to be vulnerable about her own rise in her career. She and Alicia, her co-host, share useful knowledge about creating a life and thriving as an artist.The podcast delves into the business and mindset of becoming a successful entrepreneur and managing all aspects of the artist’s career. Kat is so engaging and entertaining to listen to.. I feel that I know her well and owe so much of my art successes to her conversations with art luminaries and artists who all seem to have a helpful message at the perfect timing! A relaxing way to improve your skills

What I really like most about this podcast is that Kat is a natural teacher. The best teachers rephrase information repeatedly and slowly so that you can absorb it. This podcast does exactly that. It isn’t stressful, and it’s easy to pause and take notes in your phone while you’re say, on the Northeast Regional Rail trying to relax as you stare at the painting you’re hauling. Another great thing about it is the variety of artists. Most of the guests on the podcast will give listeners freebies! What a treat! It’s a rich resource.

One of my favorite art podcasts

This was the first podcast that turned me on to pod casts. I wasn't really into them until this one. Kat is so enjoyable to listen to and her podcast is filled with up lifting advice with the occational guests. I love how honest and real Kat is in her podcast about life as an artist. I've branched out and found other art pod castst that I love as well, but this is still my daily go to one that is consistantly good.

Behind the times

Honestly, I’ve been really disappointed and disheartened with the last several episodes. Art & Cocktails seems to not at all be acknowledging the roles of racism and anti-racism in the art world and the responsibility of white artists in particular to speak up. I haven’t seen the host of this podcast doing anything. How can you remain silent when you have such a huge platform with so many listeners??? I’m unsubscribing.
