TwynmomGreat banter, great info!I stumbled across this pod when preparing for a family trip to Acadia. I thoroughly enjoyed their chatter and creative games so much that I have since listened to several episodes even though I do not have plans for additional park travel at this time. Thanks guys! Keep informing and entertaining 🥰

Gee379My go to for National ParksWhen going on my national park adventures, I always consult this podcast for things to do, eat, stay, and just general history! It’s always fun and informative.

paVEme/ntIgnore the one ⭐️ reviewsThey are clearly from homophobes. This show is fun and about real hiking. Always a good show. Keep up the great work!

MmolineSo fun and informative! My kids and I are preparing for a trip this summer where we will be stopping at many national parks. We’ve all been enjoying listening to this podcast and getting so much helpful information in such a fun format!! I’ll be sad to be caught up once I’ve officially binged all the episodes.

Becky LomaxReal Hikers, Real Fun!These guys are real hikers, pounding down lots miles on short and long trails in national parks. They know their stuff. In recapping their experiences for us, they pepper their trail talk with unvarnished commentary: if a trail is super steep or has difficult features to navigate (like fording creeks), you’ll get the accurate info rather than a paint job. Best of all, their discussions are full of warmth, creativity, and hilarity (love it when they both start laughing out of control). They have the rare talent of educating listeners while letting us into their lives and imparting humor (love the invented trail queens). When an episode is over, I feel like I’ve learned something, had my spirits lifted with laughter, and been with friends. Truly an outstanding podcast.

AEKKKK29Like hanging out with two friendsThis podcast feels like you’re sitting down with two besties having a cup of coffee while listening to them share silly anecdotes, play word games, and walk you through each trail they hiked on their latest trip. As a fellow NJ native/hiking enthusiast/millennial, Mike and Dusty are my favorite. If you want direct info about the national parks devoid of any personal narratives, this isn’t the podcast for you.
-
rad riStumbled upon them- love them.I stumbled upon this podcast after searching “Zion” on a flight to the national park. Their banter and story telling is so lovely and simple and pleasant. They go on just enough side tangents and describe such a nice day you wish you could go with them. got me excited for Zion!

Historyman1981!Best National Park Podcast!!Sit back and relax as Dustin and Michael take you on an adventure. Each episode relives their experiences at an national park. Their insite on trails, wildlife, history, culture, even parking is invaluable to anyone wanting to venture to the park. They also provide useful information regarding restaurants, bars and local Airbnb’s. I love their banter. Their friendship shines through as they discuss back and forth the experiences they share together. The games they play both in the middle, and the end of the podcast are so much fun. A little detail that means a lot is their recognition of the Indian grounds of the places they hiked. This is one of the best podcast for anyone who has a passion for national parks, or just wants to listen to something entertaining.

Holiday Inn HoundsUnexpected DelightThese two friends are simply heartwarming and delightful. I stumbled upon this show when searching for podcasts on Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. I listen and laugh while walking my dogs. I just know passerby's are wondering why that girl is laughing so heard and guessing answers to their riotous word games OUT-LOUD! Great job guys, keep up the good work😊.

danielle0258lovei stumbled upon this podcast bc i’m planning a trip to glacier at the end of august this year. i love to hear insight on first hand experiences, especially on tips of do’s and maybe dont’s! last summer i spent a month traveling national parks, so it’s cool to hear about things i’ve also done to compare. thanks :)

carrx1104Heartwarming and InformativeWhen I can’t get out for a hike myself, I listen to this podcast to cheer me up and learn all about the NPS and other relevant topics that Dusty and Mike cover. There is no NPS site that’s not worth a visit and I think these guys have shown that. Happy trails to this awesome outdoorsy couple!!!
-
PriceJELOVE!This is one of my favorite podcasts EVER!!!! I love the information, humor, and history they provide! Such great, thoughtful content!
-
Medicare4All2020Adorable and InformativeThese two are just too cute!! I smile and laugh the entire time, while learning about trails and the indigenous names for them. And I love their games and the drag queens they make up!! Totally my favorite pod by far!
-
teresa ohioInteresting take on parksThese are 2 friends who podcast about the park after they visit. They talk about the good and bad about their visit They throw in some facts and just when I think oh no they are about to play a dumb game, the game ends up being quite entertaining
-
Clark KauffmanGood content; delivery is lackingThe hosts are knowledgeable and engaging but are so incapable of not talking over the top of each other it’s comical. Some of the information they’re trying to impart is simply lost in the unintelligible crosstalk.
-
Ghadd1985LOVE thisDusty and Mike are just good people. Any time I tune into their show I immediately feel like I’m among friends, and the production quality always keeps me engaged. If you’re looking for a great new show to add to your catalogue ADD THIS NOW. Much love to these guys.

-
cernos12Love this podcastI really enjoy listening to this podcast. It’s very upbeat and entertaining. I’ve also learned a lot from the podcast too.
-
NibblesMcGeeIt’s Like A Campfire ChatI could not adore this podcast more. I love the national parks, but I’m not a big fan of long hikes. Hiking just isn’t my thing. However, I love listening to Dusty and Mike recount their adventures. I’ve binged all the episodes, including the Trail Mixes and Visitorships, and it leaves me wanting more…so I’ve started back from the beginning again.

StayAtHomeDogMom2020A fun romp through the parksIf you want genuine, hilarious, and sincere review of America’s beloved National Parks, look no further than this podcast. I can’t stop laughing at the outfit details, decor reviews, and the interactions between the hosts. This podcast is extra in the best way possible. After over a year of Covid, this podcast is the best medicine for your wanderlust-blues. My husband and I also find ourselves randomly whistling the intro tune as well. Best of luck to the hosts and we can’t wait to hear where your future travels take you; we will be listening and laughing with you all along the way!
-
Roxy4321I love Dusty and Mike!So much fun to listen to. They have taught me so much about our National Parks and I listen to them on my walks and I can’t get enough.
-
ObjectiveBanker12474858Fabulous showSuch a great, enjoyable show to listen to. I always learn so much and laugh along with them! Also love all the games they play- some have inspired my own hiking games when I’m at a park! Keep up the great work!!

rlynnsearsMost Fabulous PodcastI absolutely love listening to this podcast. Not only to I have goals to go to all the national parks but I am also getting into hiking so this was a perfect find! Thank you Spotify! I laugh the entire time and enjoy not only their adventures but all the games they play in between. I’d recommend to all.

bigschott11 NP in 7 weeks with gazeAs a flight attendant who was recently furloughed from my job at the largest airline in the world I decided to make the most of my time off. I hopped in my car and headed west from NC to gaze at the NP. This podcast was my lifeline every day for all 11 of the NP I explored. I have been in the airline industry for almost 19 years and have been to so many cities around the world and this country but I have never had the opportunity to really see so much of what our wonderful country has to offer. As a solo traveler Dustin and Michael kept me company on many of the long haul drives from point A to point B and made the distance the parks bailable. Their wit and clever banter had me laughing out loud at least twice every episode. As an early riser and someone who just couldn’t quite acclimate to the time zone out west I greatly I appreciated their wise advice; hike early and hike often. Bravo to this wonderful podcast and keep it up. So many more NP to visit and you better believe I will be packing this podcast in my camelback!

Nyt reader2Favorite National Park PodcastI am subscribed to not a small number of national park podcasts (it’s a whole mood); this is by far my favorite! For anyone with even a passing interest in National Park history, information, conversation, this podcast is accessible, fun, and really enjoyable to listen to. I totally agree with other reviewers that say that it is just the right mix of informative and entertaining. The “games” in the breaks are hilarious and fun, and the trail and park info is actually really helpful (while not being just a list of facts about a park, etc.). I also really appreciate the land recognitions and the inclusion of the full history of parks and land, including the reality of displacement. All around a fun and enjoyable podcast I look forward to each week!
-
LauraAnnLOne of my fav podcastsSo excited that season 3 is here!!! This has become one of my favorite podcasts in the last 6 months. My partner and I are currently trying to visit and hike each national park and Dusty and Mike’s episodes have been staples in our trail choices and preparedness. Also they’re hilarious. Also they’re queer. It’s the best.
-
MaeGibFantasticI love the National Parks and this pod is the perfect mix of information, fun, and banter. Mike and Dusty are great and I want to be best friends with them.

ROBYNGERMAINEYou guys are great! It’s interesting because I really find Teddy Roosevelt to be fascinating. Of course I don’t agree with his large game hunting and things like that, it was the era,So John Muir is no different-when we know better, we do better – hopefully! Much love!

RRowGirlEntertaining, informative, and funny! This is my new favorite podcast—I’m totally binging on the episodes! For me, there are a few things that set this podcast apart from other National Park podcasts: 1) Funny and relatable! When I heard the episode about hiking Angels Landing, I could 100% relate to Dusty to the point where my husband turned to me and said “that’s you!” 2) The games! All good ones. Sometimes I’m calling out the answers to jeopardy alone in my car while listening. 3) Just the right balance of being informative while still being light and fun. I get great suggestions on hikes and ideas of trails, but listening to the podcast doesn’t feel like work. It’s the perfect light-hearted podcast to help you escape these crazy times!
-
CourtnyRNational parks and drag queens!I’m not gonna lie drag queen corner is my favorite! But I like how the hosts span one parks over several episodes, getting very detailed about specific trails or experiences. This is a fun easy listen that always makes me laugh!
-
forddanLOVE and super helpful for planning NP visitsHosts Dusty and Mike are entertaining and insightful as they discuss their experiences and hikes at each park. I was searching for audible Nat Park info and insight on a few parks for our upcoming trip when I came across Gaze at the National Parks and this was just it. Search no more. Really appreciate them sharing their experiences and look forward to many more episodes! Thanks y’all! Would totally be open to hearing about your fave state parks too :) Oh and I totally bought a Rand McNally NP atlas 30 min into first time listening to an episode. Love all your tips and tricks!
-
Math FreddyAwesome National Park Podcast!I just discovered Gaze looking for a new National Parks podcast. The topics and length and perfect for my runs. Keep up the good work!

Teacher in a Combat ZoneMy New Commute Besties!I recently discovered this podcast and I am absolutely in love! I have a lengthy-ish commute and diving into these podcasts have truly brightened my days. I love their humor, the little games they play (I seriously crack up at the Drag Queen names!) and, of course, all of the amazing information about the National Parks! The only downside? Some serious travel envy!

Jonathon_SEnlightening and EducationalThis podcast has been a game changer for me and my friends- It is impossible to listen to without laughing yet it is thought-provoking and educational. It keeps you engaged and eager each and every episode. I always find myself wanting more. I have been an avid outdoorsman my entire life and have recently became enamored by National Parks. I have only been to a few (Estes, Great Smoky Mountains, Mount Rainier) but I aspire to visit as many as possible throughout my life. While listening I am able to visualize the parks, trails, scenery, ambience, etc. of every National Park covered thus far. This has helped me shape my NP bucket list which I’m extremely thankful for. I’ve put in hours of online research in order to educate myself and plan my next NP trip but nothing has helped me more with this than simply listening to ‘Gaze at the National Parks’.

Will ferellInforming and EntertainingLove this podcast! I came to this podcast after a friend recommended it. I’ve been trying to find a podcast that isn’t just information, but actual personalities that made me engaged. Perfect for binging on road trips or just getting off work. I highly recommend this to anyone that loves national parks or trails!
-
tiffanyhuseCaptivating and HilariousI cannot stop listening. I need more. Honestly I have never run into a podcast that has kept my full attention and made me laugh alone in my car until I cry.
-
BothAlionasThanks Guys! Buy gaiters!Love their friendship and the topic. Probably won’t make it to most of the Nat Parks, but love hearing about them. It’s curious how sometimes the guys don’t do research online or call ahead of time about current trail conditions. They went to high elevation Rocky Mountain NP and were surprised by the snow! Dusty in particular was so frustrated. Hint: buy gaiters to keep snow and dirt out of your boots!
-
Tatsu MFun!This is a great podcast that helps fill my national parks void during the long stretches of time between my own travels. A very fun mix of travel talk and outdoors talk, with a lot of good humor mixed in! Dustin and Michael’s friendship is inspiring. Highly recommend! 🏔 🌵 🏜

GreenOne1080These Two Win My HeartOkay, so I don't ACTUALLY hike trails (yet) bc I hate bugs etc., but I listen to these two and they're helping me to build my courage. They not only give great travel details to help you plan, but they are charmingly engaging and bring the real-ness (re: National Parks and life in general). I love that they break it up (allowing me to go about my day without missing anything). I love this podcast! I recommend it to hikers and chickens alike! :)
-
WowzalotusThis was the show I was looking for!I absolutely love the National Parks and I’ve been trying to find a show that gets on the trails and this is the one! I love the format, and the hosts are so funny and their friendship is infectious. I highly recommend this show for anyone who loves the National Parks.
-
henrypantsGreat info to plan our trip!Have enjoyed listening to you both while we are doing research for our Arizona Utah trip for summer 2020! Congrats on making it to Angels Landing and back ;). Would love to email you questions for a q & a episode!!

muddymermaidIn love!I’m absolutely in love with this podcast and it’s hosts! My husband and I hike around Arizona and will totally be adopting some of these games for the trails and car rides! One of my life goals is to visit all of the national parks so I really enjoy learning all about them!
-
RA_GalEntertainingI haven’t listened to many podcasts, but I will be sure to be tuning in for these guys! They are fun entertaining and make you feel a part of it all. I’m a huge national parks fan and am trying to visit them all myself so it’s fun to hear about where I have been or soon will be. Give them a listen you won’t be disappointed.

HerSummersKnightCampfire chat without the cold!GNP is a perfect blend of comedy and observations. An honest walkthrough that feels very much like hanging with old friends as they discuss their adventures to places most never get a chance to see. I laughed and was intrigued all at the same time. Can’t wait for more!
-
Elsie BrowncowExcellent hosts!Well-paced and smartly structured, this podcast is entertaining and honest, as well as informative. The hosts are great storytellers and know how to keep the narrative moving, with just enough detail to keep you interested and a pace that feels natural and compelling. Highlights of the show are the “games” they sprinkle throughout the episodes, where they share the extraordinarily creative and amusing games they play on their hikes, like drag queen names inspired by national parks, impressive “before, during, and after” Jeopardy! questions, and more. This is a fun and fresh podcast with hosts full of personality and charm and stories full of excitement and wonder. Love it!
