barbkaReally entertaining show!!Please let Ashanti Finish her comments before you interrupt.

Maddie.T2Episode 420I listen to this pod everyday & I don’t mean to be that person, & I love that shanti is getting into politics but the way Antionette is cutting her off & over talking her is getting annoying . she’s literally reading an article and the side bars and taking over is starting to get to much as a listener. I would love to hear shanti takes on it.

ezendiochaWhwre you been?Unsure on how I've went years and a lifetime without listening to you all, but I've been delivr't here! You all are fabulous and I'm so grateful for you genius! You got you a new avid listener, and I'm working my way backwards to listen to all episodes

Elroy88Antoinette’s gotta chillI really enjoy this show and it’s one of maybe 4 pods I actually listen to, but Antoinette has got to chill with the monologues. Her cutting Shanti off during the Ukraine convo on episode 414 was cringe. She has this thing where she overexplains and it comes off as pretentious and obnoxious. When Shanti was trying to let her know she got what she was saying, she was kinda rude and said “I’m trying to make sense for the listeners; less for you.” Y’all talk about pretty heavy and political topics more so than anything, so I’m sure the demographic of listeners that subscribe generally have a decent understanding of these concepts already.

haitian91CRASH OUT 🤣“If I was a man I’m 🌰 in yo mouf” - Shanti was on one on this episode. I love this and I pray 2025 content brings increase for the both of you.
-
Nini LeeksI-The Dr. King episode left me in tears after hearing how prophetic and resolved he seemed in his final speech/self-eulogy. Truly, a very moving listen. Thank you Shanti and Antoinette. Philly, we up.

SafTheShamanMy favorite podcastI learned about Around the Way Curls from the Gettin Grown podcast. Jade mentioned it a bunch of times but it took me a while to check it out because I thought it was about hair lol. One day, my podcast app recommended one of your episodes. It was one of the episodes where Sagittarius Shanti got vulnerable, crying on the internet, and Antoinette was lifting her up. I remember being like, “wow…this feels genuine.” The genuine friendship between the two is the container for a wide array of conversations that are very Black and very human. Around the Way Curls is a beautiful balance of insightful, funny, and relatable. Antoinette and Shanti, I wish you many blessings and continued evolution. ✨💗

springroyalty ABThis show is so necessary!Thank you both for being so open and vulnerable on your show. From breaking down politics to the live therapy sessions and all the jokes in between. I love what yall have created. Those 2025 episodes have been lovely for so many reasons. As a late 20’s black woman, new mom, navigating the engineering industry in Arizona. It’s been hard to find a community but hearing yall feels like a step in the right direction. 👏🏾🙌🏾💛🙏🏾✨
-
Tlatrice92Episode 401Beautiful episode ladies! It really highlighted your genuine friendship and ability to be vulnerable. Thanks for sharing with us!

Talibah AtiyaThank you, Queens!I love, LOVE this podcast. You both are so freaking magical and have gotten me through some pretty difficult seasons. As I now currently live in Ghana, you both are still my go to light source for enjoyment, wisdom and “ratchetness”… because duality is a thing. Keep shinning, queens❤️

DariaSHarperBoundless gratitudeWriting with tears in my eyes to applaud and give thanks to Shanti and Antoinette for their generosity, vulnerability, and unwavering commitment to love. I am so endlessly grateful for you two! Blessings upon you both and your individual and collective paths forward!
-
utica_ave123Feedback!I hope people are remembering to diversify their news sources and not looking to this show to be their number 1 news stop. There’s a lot I enjoy about this show but the politics section always misses key points and or they don’t even know what they’re talking about. For example when Iran launched missiles into Israel, they weren’t even informed that it was an operation to hit military targets not people’s homes or civilians. It happens nearly every week.
-
lilreebabyI love this pod so much!I really love this pod. I love the vulnerability that the ladies show week to week. I love the intention and care they give to each episode.

Mariam AbeAntoinette is singing my life with her wordsSending a great big virtual hug 🖤🖤🫂🫂

Reperations 2020I’m in TearsThanks so very much for talking about what you’re feeling. I could’ve said the exact same thing. 🩷
-
RouamadethisSisterhood in a bottle. This show fills me up in all the ways and I appreciate Shanti and Antoinette for being willing to share their vulnerability, friendship and sisterhood.
-
tellmoodyLove itI look forward to this podcast because it feels like I am just hanging out with friends I wish I had.

KaoriMommyLove this show!So I am a new listener and only started listening during the recent episode with Fran and now yall got me hooked! When the newest episode #361 started and they were speaking about the voicemails and stuff I was so confused and wondered what did I miss in episode 360?!? lol The reason I am writing the review is because Shanti is right about the fruit being left out a little bit before eating it when it’s been in the fridge. I got a watermelon yesterday, cut it and started eating it right away because it was so good and not cold yet.
-
kaylabo___Hopefully this review replaces the former…Shanti, I heard you girl! And welcome back. I don’t know where my previous review went but it was more negative than I intended and likely filled with my own projections. While I stand by what I said - that kind of feedback isn’t productive. That said - I enjoy the dynamic of these two and missed hearing Shanti while she was on her break. That’s all. Sending love and light!

The Real MamaLeeOverhaul Politics as Usual PLEASESo much Gaza every single week…not enough Congo, Sudan, etc. in Africa…
-
lyd.litEp:360Remember y’all on a mic and pics up everything. This episode sounded disgusting w/ Antoinette eating on mic and Shante clipping her nails. Made it hard listen, please be aware of your listeners.
-
EparkPatA great listen!I appreciate the content from both ladies when they are on. I do want to say that Antoinette did her thing with holding it down while Shanti was away. I enjoyed every bit of each episode with each guest. I am really happy to see that Shanti is back! The podcast did not skip a beat. Antoinette you are extremely talented girl, and great with your words and appreciation of others.
-
AplusBThank youThanks for introducing me to Olay and I enjoyed your appearance on her YT channel. You always bring the heart, I appreciate that. ❤️
-
Fashionista711AntoinetteYou are holding it down! Love it!

Moonlight mamaOne of the most human podcast experiencesI am always taken back by the negative comments because we don’t know y’all ladies personally. I think the beauty in the work you do is that you make your audience feel like we know you (although sometimes a little too much). You both show up as yourselves you show up as humans, not pretending to know it all or have the answers - many time you are figuring it out on air and that is beautiful! Sometimes I don’t agree but I don’t agree with folks everyday, sometimes I am just like “Oh no Shanti” or “No way Antoinette” lol but that doesn’t shift the impact or quality of the pod. Thank y’all for the work. Listening to Shanti over the years has emboldened me to be myself throughout motherhood, that mom fly human being can exist together.
-
elle758Why?Long time listener… love you guys but Mandi rambling on during important topics really irked me today.. I had to say something because why does she talk in circles and off topic at the same time. She sounds like she has no idea what she’s talking about. 😩 should’ve had someone who could appropriately address these important topics this week.
-
Jazz8734Please let Shanti finish speakingI’m listening to the episode from May 6th and Shanti is trying to talk and Antoinette keeps questioning her in a condescending way. “But do you know what that means?” “But did you listen?”. These can be asked and clarified off air. If you have something to add to then just say it without quizzing her. It’s starting to get weird like she’s constantly trying to paint Shanti as dumb. I use to love listening to the pod but this has made it hard to listen.
-
Syd AveryChemistry is offLong time listener! Noticed there is something off. When Shanti announced needing a mental health break, Antoinette showed no emotion or shared any support. Just waited for her to stop talking to move to the next topic. This is also after months & months of Antoinette complaining about her job and also took breaks and Shanti supported her. It’s also clear during topics that they disagree on a topic, Antoinette shuts down and again moves to the next topic or ready to end the show. Antoinette cut her off at the end with not a proper closing to complain about needing to pack. Hoping they can get back to the chemistry we all know & LOVE when Shanti returns. Love & Light!
-
6870808Unfair to AntoinettePeople saying she cuts Shanti off or gets annoyed obviously don’t have Patreon. If you watch the video you would see when Shanti doesn’t agree she starts shaking her head no & waving Antoinette off the entire time. Antoinette is also just passionate & knows what’s she’s talking about most the time. But these girls are best friends & you see visually see it. You all are weird if you say anything else.
-
KayBd91Love these ladies so muchConsistently one of my favorite podcasts. The topics are thoughtful and refreshing and I enjoy hearing their takes on pop culture as well. I will say that Antoinette seems to get annoyed at times when Shanti has a different opinion than her and it’s noticeable. Example, when talking about the most recent Jerrod Carmichael episode. Shanti should be allowed to have her own opinion on what she watched without being talked over and having Antoinette get upset about her opinion. It got a little uncomfortable there. Just my two cents. Love the pod and wish the best for both of you ladies, individually and as a duo.

simmer cFunny and relatable!I love this podcast! The women are down to earth and very funny. You can listen to this podcast when you’re happy, sad, over it, excited etc. This podcast feels like home and helps me get through my rough days. These ladies are authentic and inspiring!

Ruby Kameo Jean❤️Thx for helping me through my healing journey

Neeka BubblesMissing DualityI was ready to love this podcast as someone who loves the idea of duality, digging deeper into important issues, a hearing blk voices cover current events. HOWEVER, I came, wrongly, thinking that this podcast would have two host like Antoinette after discovering her on other pods. Yet, sadly, it feels like she must run every episode alone with barely audible engagement from her co-host and half the time I’m just wondering - Does Shanti even wanna be there? The pod needs two strong voices - not one strong one and a reluctant, disinterested one - that’s giving imbalance NOT duality. ❤️
-
hyfrmyahdobrevShanti & Antoinettei am so grateful for you all and you are both amazing

SheabuttahbaybeLove these women whole heartedlyI have been following them for years when instagram use to tell on people but I remember when they were working on this and to witness what this has turned into gives me joy and encouragement. I love them both, I cry with them, I laugh with them, they are bff’s in my head.

Vela55TexasThe governor is auditioning for trump’s administration. In 2002 when he was attorney general, he actually worked to protect immigrants from fraud by unscrupulous attorneys and notaries. Now he is building his political career on the backs of Black/brown undocumented immigrants which is why trump was elected. The “crisis” is what it is now bc Biden has not fulfilled the 7-10 promises he made to these communities. He has allowed Abbott, DeSantis and others to do the violent actions against migrants including bussing them. Those bussed are actually here legally bc they were approved by border officials to enter the country while their asylum cases are being processed. Finally, these ppl are coming here bc the USA has been in their countries destabilizing their governments, destroying their environment, exploiting their bodies, stealing their resources.

Chakra Khan XAmanda deserves betterAmanda has done a lot of good and many people have said that as well but the “difficult black woman narrative” is low hanging fruit and an easy excuse to exclude the people who sacrifice themselves to push progress forward. Shanti’s take on this was refreshing and not biased. Glad she brought up how Jonathan majors is still invited. And Mandi b is often called difficult to work with but that would be an unfair narrative to put on her without context… and she’s not even doing it to empower anything but capitalism and has mostly right leaning views. Duality is a thing… applies to Amanda seals too. I’m sure this episode added to her hurt feelings. But I’m sure she’s used to it by now. Great episode full of good convo and info. Jared kushner is disgusting. The Dems really should used these sounds bites more but they are so bad at messaging. They don’t control the story very well at all.

aprilmooresMy Philly Girls 🫶🏽I loved to Philly from LA about 3 years ago, it must have been serendipitous because I started listening to this podcast around the same time. These ladies always keep real but also not afraid to hold themselves accountable for their mistakes. They are one of the few people I can tolerate listening to. This podcast gives me the hope, joy, and laughs I need to get through my day!
-
dj appleDuality is a Thing!Love this show, love the ladies. Just because a patreon subscriber as well. And yea to pop culture updates.
-
KeeKee2010Insightful, Thoughtful, Safe, and HilariousDuality is a thing!!! That’s literally my motto now. This podcast shows how friends who can challenge each other can be beautiful. I love how they allow each other to be who they are but also challenge each other to grow beyond where they are. But also mid serious conversation saying things like girl I know you not smacking food in my ear or just checking them for not listening. I started listening this podcast Holiday 2023 and it was at the perfect time. This podcast allowed me to be comfortable with freeing myself from all the -isms and opening my mind to possibilities. Dope podcast that allows me to freely think, be open new experiences everyday, and feel ok with sharing those thoughts with friends/family. I love listening to these two ladies! They remind me of when I get on the phone and talk to my long distance best friend of 20+ years. And we are only in our early 30s. The parallels are crazy!
-
FriedaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaGazaI appreciate they’re one of few podcasts at least talking about Gaza. Most Americans do not support the genocide is committing, but we’re afraid to speak up. I appreciate them for using their platform to speak up for Palestinians. Even if it was a small mention. New listener but I’m looking for podcasts that are talking about Palestine/pro Palestine. Happy I found one! Shoutout to Apple Podcasts for introducing me to yall
-
JohatzisSecond Review because you’re just that good!Shanti and Antoinette! Thank you so much for bringing two episodes every week! The two of you are so real and fun! My new favorite podcast!

Best Photo Collage AppAuthentic, Funny, and Real.I initially found ATWC on Instagram. Their post were hilarious. I found myself cracking up laughing or clutching my imaginary pearls and then laughing even harder at their IG post. This lead me to the podcast. Following and listening to the podcast weekly is soothing to this Black girl’s soul. The content is relevant, the discussions are honest, and the friendship between these ladies exudes authenticity. It’s a soft place to land because of the realness and humor.

MM$1217Thank youI enjoy listening to my Philly natives. I appreciate everything yall do for the culture.

Yaz MatazPerfect Dose of Laughter + CommunityThis is one of my favorite podcasts ever ❤️ Antoinette and Shanti are just genuinely hilarious, but I also love hearing them talk about their friendship(s), relationships and just how they move through the world. It’s very easy-listening, but at the same time has very thoughtful/nurturing conversation; I always feel lighter after listening. Just love them all around - 10/10, no notes!
-
GymineyeI love this show so, so much!My only request is to increase the volume in the audio recordings. I am so glad I became a patreon supporter so that I can see and hear the extra banter, breakthroughs, shenanigans, etc. I may be a bit obsessed…
