skunkgurlLOVE this podcast times a millionListening to this is like sitting on a couch with really smart, intuitive friends and a good cup of tea. It's medicine and wisdom and a call to action for the artists's soul. I've listened to a lot of the interviews, but my favourite episodes are the convos between Amie and James.

AmmygatorSo many needed messagesI love listening to this podcast. It is so validating and motivating for me as a creative. I’ve been listening for a couple of years now and have enjoyed every minute, so much so, that I went back to the beginning and am listening to the episodes I hadn’t yet listened to prior to when I found the podcast. It’s like I always have two friends who get it and encourage me to take those tiny baby steps forward.

Sotie LEvery creative need this podcasts! This is a must listen for anyone exploring their creative self (and those who are not but want to). The episodes are real and conversational, not overly planned/edited. It feels like you are having a cup of coffee with friends who push you and love you at the same time.

Bmin7Thanks for the podcast 💖I need this message. It’s also very healing for me to hear how you care for each other.

damw47Come for the artistic insights, stay for the excellent banterI’m an artist, and this is my favorite podcast. Even as a non-writer (I’m an actor and voiceover artist), I love listening to James and Amie talk about a huge variety of topics related to making art, the business of art, and living life as an artist. It’s always really grounded in their own experiences and that of the guests they bring on, and never feels too philosophical. And crucially, they recognize that their way is not *the* way for every artist (and the two of them each have very different approaches to their own artistic pursuits, which balance beautifully on the podcast). Also, and they joke about how it probably alienates some listeners, but I love the tangents rants they frequently go on. It’s usually still really related to the topic they’re on, or it is just fun and helps reveal that these artists, like all artists, have actual whole lives (and should!).

JenniferKat2012My comfort podcast. No, my fav podcast ever! This podcast has, in every way, given me the confidence to live the life I’ve dreamt of since a little kid. I had no idea how many limiting beliefs were keeping me small and how easily I could break out of those beliefs until I started to listen. Amie and James are so incredibly smart, optimistic, generous, passionate, happy, honest, and kind people. They navigate ambiguity with such grace and clarity and help all who are drowning in the confusion of the creative industry feel less alone. They don’t recommend something unless that are actually living it and they are so courageous. I’m beyond grateful to have found them. The have changed my life. 💕 P.S. They are just the cutest couple. :)

calleyovFave podcastThis is literally the only podcast where I’ve caught up on most of the old episodes and eagerly await new episodes. I always come away from it inspired, and it’s also fun to listen to. It has been so so transformative for my creative journey P.S. I actually decided to sit down and write a review after checking the page to see if a new episode had dropped before my walk haha

corditoriOne of my favorite creative podcastsI am wildly picky when it comes to the podcasts I listen to re: writing. This podcast always makes me feel supported, seen and inspired! Thank you, Amie and James!

papervioletsConfront your discomfortAre you standing in your own way? Do you feel comfortable calling yourself a creative? Have you felt like there are no voices to support your calling to create? You need this podcast. You need to get out of your head and listen to these two lovely people encourage (and sometimes endearingly fumble). You need some role models that DARE suggest you are allowed to disagree with them! That’s why this podcast is magic. It’s intentional yet messy. It’s oh so real.

RainbowbirthLife changingIt is inspiring and comforting to listen to these two creatives talk about the ins and outs of being an artist. It feels like having a cup of coffee at the cafe with a couple of your closest artist friends and talking intimately about the nitty gritty details of our lives. I have listened to each episode at least twice and take away new nuggets of wisdom each time- it has given me direction or reassurance during some challenging times and inspired me to lean into my unique voice and be authentically me. I recommend this podcast to everyone, whether you consider yourself to be an “artist” or a writer or just a human being in general.

maddcowanPerfect timingIn the middle of the editing and publishing process of my first book, I found this podcast as a sign from the universe. I have taken something from every single episode and have shared them with my writing group. Thank you both for sharing your beautiful journey!

_melomie_Different Perspectives AppreciatedHi, I really enjoy this podcast. It’s such a calming reminder that you don’t need to add more pressure to yourself in order to make better art. You just need to be consistent. Thank you for sharing your words, thoughts, and ideas. I feel they do help me better approach my own version of art. ❤️☮️😊
-
Gina Baker3Thank you for your wisdom! As a dancer, I find your words so empowering. This podcast has taught me how to be a better creative as a whole. I am so grateful I found your work. You are the creative balm our souls need.

LaurenPetessAmazing!I had to rewrite my original review (still 5 stars) because it just didn’t express my enthusiasm the way I wanted it to. This podcast is amazing I highly recommend it and don’t just take my word for it - take my actions. Since coming across Unpublished I have started writing my first novel, gotten back into painting and picked up the piano again. This is for the creatives, those who don’t think they are creative and everyone in between. THANK YOU Amie and James for rekindling the spark I thought was once dead. I love you guys!
-
Chris D JonesGut-Level Honest PerspectivesJames and Amy do a fantastic job at helping creative persons break down barriers and limiting beliefs. With every listen, you’ll have the audacity to create bad art that ultimately catapults you to making great art!

emilypperryIf you are a creative, this podcast is a must!!I have just discovered this podcast, and it feels like a breath of fresh air. mElnae1810The answer I needed to light a fire!! 🔥🔥🔥If you are like me and need some inspiration and maybe a shift in perspective on your needs and goals as a creative, this is the answer to your prayers. I just found this podcast and am currently binge listening! There is such practical advice and real life talk about being a creative! Amie is so brutally honest about her journey and her struggles. Such a breath of fresh air instead of it all being like some “publishing formula BS, make money fast BS.” This is the real shiiiz! What are you waiting for? Just listen!

DezNickoLove ItAs a musician living (currently) in a small town with very little contact with other artists, it’s very refreshing and inspiring to be able to listen to others discuss their thoughts and feelings on pursuing a career in art.
-
Nikimnflwr10So thankful I found this, can’t wait to binge rest!Listened to your interview on Racheal Herrons podcast this morning and I literally finished my first 4pages last night of my own first draft. I’m prepping to start nanowrimo 2019. I feel completely isolated in my own head all the time..so glad to have found someone else who feels same way and know I’m not crazy😜. Can’t wait to catch up on rest of the shows while I’m working my day job today. Happy writing all!!

Patttie CakeFeeds my soul!Every episode is so important and relevant for creative people! Aime and her guests tap into serious questions that I ponder everyday, and it’s as if she KNOWS what I need to hear every step of the writing process! Aime is willing to be vulnerable and put herself into this podcast. This is BY FAR the most enjoyable and important podcast I listen to! Thank you Aime! ❤️ you have made a wonderful mark on this earth and you’ve only just begun!
-
L SemarThe Perfect Pick Me Up/ kick in butt!I LOVE this podcast and I love your IG account that compliments the episodes. Staying motivated is so hard and listening and relistening to certain episodes has been amazing. Thank you so much!!
-
a.mateoAn Honest Space for WritersI listened to both episodes in one sitting, and I could not be more thankful for Aimee’s encouraging words. Most days my inconsistent work habits weigh heavy on my mind, not to mention I’ve yet to be published. Aimee’s vulnerability and commitment to creativity is inspiring to say the least. I cannot wait for the next episode.
-
looloo1252Constant Reminder to PersevereI have followed Aimee on Instagram for years and was so excited to find out that she was coming out with a podcast. As an unpublished writer myself, her rawness and openness about the joyful, as well as the difficult aspects of the creative journey keep me inspired and remind me that I’ll get there. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but I’ll get there. All of us will. Aimee is a natural speaker and motivator and I can’t wait for more episodes! <3

abby.lynn.9256I Enjoyed This PodcastAmie you are so inspiring! Thank you for starting this podcast so that we creatives can share our struggles together! I feel for you and I have always enjoyed what you have had to say about writing or the creative life since I started following you on Instagram. Please keep making these! I will continue listening and cheering on your coming success!
-
lucwritesAmazing! What a fantastic podcast! I’ve always loved Amie’s Instagram feed, but this podcast is amazing! She’s so inspirational and gives us writers hope that if you work hard enough towards your dream, you’ll eventually reach it :))
-
RebeccaKelseyNo pressure? No diamonds.I’ve been following Amie for years and after listening to episode 1 - I realize we’ve pretty much been together for both of our journeys. I started writing during 2014 NaNoWriMo (which I believe is when I followed her IG) and that is where Amie begins her tale. I look forward to see how this exploration of self and creative life develops, especially as the term “success” is redefined. You are a success Amie. You said it yourself, even in the darkest of times you didn’t give up writing. You grew from it. That’s what true success is. Looking forward to further episodes! -Rebecca Kelsey Sampson
