Rhett, you ask such thoughtful questions and having had the privilege of working with Salim at Pleasantry Lane studios, it was really inspiring to get inside Salim’s creative heart & mind. I love how in his answer to your thoughtful question, he reminded us all to remember what we felt from hearing music as children. So inspired by the songs we heard on the radio & to never forget why we ever wanted to make music in the first place !!!🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 And, his dads voice “ Sometimes the thing you hate the most is the best thing for you.” 💎💎💎💎💎🙏🙏🤩 ha! The more I hear Rhett, the more I want to listen to him. As an interviewer he exudes thoughtful insight, curiosity and humility. I’m enjoying meeting the folks he is a fan of through the podcast!

You just have to love such a talented, accomplished guy who remains a fan of other artists. It’s that kind of enthusiasm that makes Rhett a great interviewer who can draw out a good story, and add one of his own to boot. And he oozes likability. You can tell he likes his guests and they like him. Highly recommended.

I make no secret of my love for Rhett Miller and the Old 97s. I follow these guys around Texas like a true fangirl without shame, lol. Having said that, I listen to a ton of podcasts and don’t waste any time on a less than superb show. Trust me when I say Wheels Off is worth it if you’re interested in expanding your creativity. So many of us are afraid to try to write that story or poem or draw that picture for fear of failure. Rhett talks to successful artists who have dealt with the same issues and conquered their fears anyway. It’s an empowering feeling. Finally, Rhett is fantastic as an interviewer. I’d love to hear longer episodes!

I love this podcast. Honeys conversations about being human, especially a human taking on the messy and rewarding art of creating. I discovered this podcast during the pandemic, when I was attempting to write my book. The messages, words of wisdom, vulnerable shares inspired me to complete by book and get it published!

I've long been a fan of Rhett and the 97s so tuning into this felt like hanging out with friends and just listening to them chat. It's great on a long car ride between gigs or a nice bike ride or walk. It inspires in the best way, by making you want to create more yourself.

You don’t have to be a fan of the Old 97s (but I am) to really dig this podcast. Satisfying conversations about creating with some people you know and some you might not. Rhett Miller brings an empathy and respect to these conversations that gets at things that probably don’t get unearthed in most.

Rhett Miller is such a joy to listen to. His questions are well thought and in depth. The conversations are outstanding, easy going and natural. I highly recommend this podcast!

Truly inspirational! In its realness and vulnerability, this podcast allows for inclusion for so many people who feel isolated in their creative endeavors.

Honest and entertaining interviews with interesting artists, even if you don’t know them beforehand they are intriguing to learn about. Rhett’s a genuinely curious and thoughtful interviewer- he goes deep but keeps it light, down to earth, with no pretensions.

Great for aspiring songwriters. Also for people like me who just enjoy the creative process whether it is song, books, poetry. I can recommend it for anyone because it’s just darn interesting

There are so few hosts who can do the switch and be interviewed, but Rhett proved that he’s such a great, vulnerable artist and it showed how gracious he is as a host. Rhett always give us a bit of insight when he’s the host without hogging the discussion, but I loved getting to know him way more as the guest. This podcast is such a reward to listen to.

Enjoyed the podcast from 04/14/2020 immensely. I subsequently subscribed. If you do not know Rhett's music (solo or Old 97's), do yourself a favor and dive in the deep end.

Been a Rhett fan from the early Dallas days. He does it all. Didn’t know what to expect from his latest adventure into podcasting. Uncertainty lasted about 5 minutes into episode 1. He pulls from his rolodex of friends and cohorts from all mediums of art & entertainment. He has a flair for asking intelligent questions that warrant thought provoking responses. All from a place of genuine friendship. He’s just an all around good dude. I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every episode...

I love this podcast so much. Every episode has some awesome take-away that I still think of weeks & months later. Great questions and such engaging conversation. What a great variety of guests and perspectives!

This Podcast is so, so, so good. Like most people, my free time is a finite resource and was well spent bingeing on WO. Rhett is a magical interviewer with quick whit and one who listens deeply. Loved the variety of guests on the show. My hand is raised to host an episode of WO where I ask Rhett the same questions he asks his guests.

Rhett is a treasure trove of life experiences and he brings that and his wit to these episodes. Not to be missed by fans of art, music and pursuing your passion.

Rhett is great, as are the people he interviews. When is GORDON KEITH going to be on, Rhett? Or is he loathe to share his comedic secrets? Other than that, I’d like to see more women and non-white artists represented. But this is a seriously interesting topic, and Rhett asks some really great questions. I highly recommend!

The heart & soul that Rhett puts into his podcasts is undeniable. They are a must listen for everyone!

As a songwriter myself and a huge Old 97’s and Rhett Miller fan I gotta tell ya this podcast is one I look forward to interview after interview. Rhett has a calm engaging voice perfectly suited to the podcast format and having been in the music business from such a young age he can meet his guests wherever they’re at with their own experiences. Not only do I love these interviews for the positivity and validation it gives me personally as I continue with my own songwriting, but there are positive takeaways and insights into creative processes of successful artists that come out with every interview. Thank you, Rhett, for being such a positive force to other artists with this wonderful podcast!

I’m honestly so pleasantly surprised by these short, but meaningful interviews. I’m already a huge fan of the Old 97s, so it was natural to pick up this podcast by Rhett, but I wasn’t sure that it would resonate. And yet here I am enjoying even the ones I think I won’t find all that interesting, like the sports announcer, possibly more than the interviews of the people I adore, like Lydia Loveless and John McCrea. 30 mins is both a perfect snapshot and not nearly long enough.

Rhett is a great interviewer, including personal experiences while drawing insight from the guests. Always upbeat and positive.

The focus on the creative work ethic matched with Rhett Miller's ability to relate these themes to any artisitic endeavor makes this interview series really standout. Great show that keeps getting better.

I like listening to Rhett converse. He is humble and down to earth and makes the podcast feel like you are in a corner booth at a chill bar having a beer and listening to cool people tell stories. Love it!
