    Very Bad Move
    this is a very interesting, enjoyable, and helpful podcast. I am giving it five stars for that, but I am horrified at Gill Martin’s response to hiring Joel Quenneville and very very pleased to hear Rachel Donner explain to him that winning a Stanley Cup does not obviate or in any way balance out, allowing or ignoring sexual abuse on his staff. Gill needs to sit down and think about that.

    Step the wrong direction
    I like the daily show. Without getting too wordy. Daily show is fine, hosts are biased on teams covered. PWHL shows are nice. You lost me at the Night Recap shows. I’d rather not listen to them. The show was fine. I took a star away because the recap show. Drop that segment and this would be a 4-star show.

    In general Locked on NHL is a decent show but the Game Night sub show, specifically during the ‘25 playoffs has been annoying to the point I probably won’t listen anymore. The host from the west is fine. He’s professional and knowledgeable. But the guy from the east seems to go by the mantra that loud and animated equates to knowledgeable. And he just gets louder and more animated the less substance he has to add to the episode. You even get the sense that his cohost starts to get annoyed with him. It’s unfortunate because the show is a good way to get caught up on the games I miss. For now I’ll have to go back to reading the game recaps online.

    Not what I expected at all. The announcers are so clueless! It’s almost funny! But seriously try something else. I play hockey and this is absolutely boring. Hope you don’t make my mistake,Star Wars 🐀 P.S. I think watching hockey with announcers is better because you learn more and they actually know what they’re talking about.

    Why does locked on NBA put a podcast out every night after the playoff games but locked on NHL doesn’t? Move the hosts to the West Coast for the playoffs if you have to

    The woman host has zero knowledge of the game. Her opinions are kindergarten level. The old man is even worse. Look anywhere else for hockey discussion.

    Good show
    I like most of the content on this show. However, they dedicate too much time to following women’s hockey for a show that markets itself as being about the NHL. For example, in the playoff preview show, they spent about 20 minutes talking about women’s hockey but only 9 minutes discussing the first round matchups. I’m all for growing the sport and routinely dropping news about women’s hockey, but the repeated segments dedicated to it take up an excessive percentage of show time and is a disingenuous volume of content given how the show markets itself as being “Locked on NHL”. That’s the reason for the 3 stars. I will keep listening because I do like the NHL content, but please know I am skipping through these long segments on women’s hockey. I’m sure there are podcasts out there for those interested in a deep dive into women’s hockey.

    Too Much Talk About Glass Ceilings
    Get politics and social justice out of this podcast. If I want to listen to that stuff, then I’ll listen to a different podcast. I just want to know what is happening in the NHL. I’ll go over to 32 Thoughts and Puck Soup…bye!

    Good Podcast, heavily opinionated.
    The national podcasters do a great job of covering NHL issues and topics as a whole. They often also talk about individual teams and how they are doing. Although they only talk about teams they like. For example their coverage of the winter classic was only discussing the Minnesota wilds loss and zero coverage of the St. Louis Blues victory. And their power rankings are quite biased as well only placing teams they particularly like in top 10 slots as opposed to looking at the numbers and stats to decide power rankings. All in all they are very professional and there aren’t really any better NHL coverage posdcasts so give them a listen but I can’t give it 5 stars.

    Production Quality is Zero
    I listen to podcasts all day long. I have been a luke warm listener of Locked On for many years. The model is good. Each team has a podcast, the episodes are short enough to not take up an entire shift at work, but the quality is SO bad!! I dont know where they get the hosts, how they edit, if they edit, but dang, Ive heard better quality recordings on answering machines! The nhl pod is the worst quality yet! All I can say is, I cant wait for The Ringer to come out with an NHL pod. Until then, try Puck Soup.

    Today’s “Pacific preview” (10/6/21) was a hard listen. A lot of dead air and background noise. I understand the noise as these are folks who have jobs to do, but the gaps between segments could have easily been edited out. I listen to a lot of hockey pods and a lot of other Locked on podcasts so I occasionally have to decide to skip or cut something short each day. Today’s Locked on NHL was an easy choice to cut short. Normally things are much better. I look forward to the next episode.

    Sarah is an excellent hostess who sets up her guests with on point relevance. One doesn’t need to be an expert analyst to provide an informative and entertaining pod. Sneaky Joe and Rachel are great together as are Andrew and Mary. When two guys co-host, they typically stay on point with hockey whereas when two women co-host, the narrative sometimes strays away. I prefer the content to remain on point regardless of gender of the hosts.

    big fan of the Locked on the podcasts. I started listening to locked on NHL & NHL fantasy after getting tired of the terrible host that took over Locked on Blackhawks for Jay when he left to focus on his Madhouse podcast. Highly recommend LO NHL. The host gives insightful & sensible outlooks and reasoning.
