Zero Hours is an anthology series from Long Story Short Productions, where every story is a different take on the end of the world - or at least something that feels like the end of the world. Each episode is organized around a kind of apocalypse, whether the cataclysm is planetary or personal, and each episode is also set in succeeding centuries, with 99-year intervals separating them. Zero Hours begins in the past, catches up to the present, and eventually overtakes it. Some installments are darkly comedic, others grimly contemplative, and others still thrillingly contentious. But they all explore the same question: how do we keep going when the world is crashing down around us?Stories From The End(s) of the World...

    If Black Mirror was a Podcast
    I love this podcast. Everything about it and everyone involved. The authors and vocal talent as well as sound & editors are everything. EVERYTHING, I SAY. Let’s get married. We can turn TRQ into one big polycule. Or cult. Or both. Wellll you can’t rely on me for very much. I’m not consistent or smart. But I can reliably testify when I like a thing. And oh boy do I like this and all involved. Enough to marry it. That bears repeating. I’m just saying the offer’s on the table…. 🙃

    Truly fascinating stories, exceptional voice acting. Leaves you wishing for more. Luckily for us the folks from Zero Hours have given us another podcast called Unseen. Listening to that next.

    Mostly good
    Mostly good. I really enjoyed the stories and the concepts. Very twilight zone ish, even if they aren’t always sci fi or fantasy. The acting is… rough. Not every character has to be super sarcastic to be relatable. Skip the first one, it’s almost unlistenable. Solid other than that.

    Was moderately enjoyable until they embraced political extremists in ep 4. Making a murderous Marxist as a hero. Encouraging political violence is fine as log as it is radically left.

    Absolutely Stunning
    Everything you could ever want from a podcast; its fantastical, hauntingly realistic, and beautifully portrays the best and worst of mankind. This podcast has believable characters throughout, all of which are easy to relate to. The last episode beautifully ties up the first season and brought genuine tears to my eyes. I cannot reccomend it enough.

    Bold, Imaginative, Apocalyptic
    This show was everything I wanted out of something like Black Mirror or the Twilight Zone. The stories all felt powerful, intriguing, and bold. The production value is fantastic, and pretty much everything about the show is done extremely well. Love it!

    I think I dropped a five star review months ago when I listened to a couple of these stories. Then I got busy with the other 250 podcasts in my feed (including by these guys). I was going back for another episode and I suddenly realized “This is all one thing, not many things.” And I’m going back through again. So good! So layered!

    Creative Episodic Vignettes about Possible “Ends of the World”
    I recognize many of the voices from Wolf 359 (a sci-fi podcast I also highly recommend). Voice acting, music, sound quality, and SFX all get top marks! If you like 30-60 min installments of apocalyptical short stories, I highly recommend Zero Hours. The episodes are standalone and can be played in any order, though I recommend going in order (there are minor callbacks in the 7th and final episode of the first season). Pick the episode description that sounds most interesting to you and give it a try! PS - if you are complaining that the story is slow or has no overarching continuous plot, you probably don’t understand the premise of this podcast.

    The premise haunts me; it’s a beautiful concept. I wasn’t drawn to all of the episodes but there are a couple I keep coming back to.

    Binged the whole thing in a day. Deeply engaging and beautiful. And so many unexplained things! Why do these events happen every 99 years? Why are there so many references to “fallible men” and “the sky falling?” Wish I knew more

    I am absolutely loving the stories coming but the bull crap silence at opening of each episode is ridiculous and immediately makes me uncomfortable and annoyed instead of settling me in for a fun ride.

    This was extremely boring to listen to. The stories are terrible, everything feels forced and acted out. I would not recommend this to anyone. Listen to a good podcast Dust and you’ll see for yourself. I only listened to two episodes and I could not get through anymore.

    I mean, what else did we expect from the Wolf 359 crew? This is a frank, thoughtful, humorous, downright spiritual examination of what “The End” really means. I cried, laughed, cringed in horror, and was ultimately left deeply satisfied with their answer to that question

    ahh i love wolf 359 so much and i constantly relisten j to relive the amazing story. was vv excited when this came out and i loved every episode except for the 2nd? i couldn't get thru that one but i'm eternally thankful that this series exists!! every episode was an emotional rollercoaster and im rly glad i got to experience this magic! ´͈ ᵕ `͈

    I will listen to anything this group of writers put out. I’m a big fan of wolf 359, no bad ideas, time bombs, and now I can add this podcast to the list. I loved the first episode great voice acting, and writing.

    I’m a huge fan of Wolf359 and when I found out about this podcast I was so ecstatic. I am NOT disappointed!!!! I love a podcast with individual stories to tell but a part larger than the whole. The stories, the message, the actors, the writing, sound, music. Please do yourself a massive favor and listen to this amazing podcast.

    Not a single weak episode
    Generally speaking, I am not a sci-fi fan. But this podcast was incredible — stellar writing, top-notch voice work, and stories that worked amazingly well as stand-alone episodes or parts of the whole. I went in not knowing anything about the format, and was so impressed when I caught on to how everything tied together. I guess some could argue that the message was political or preachy... but quite frankly, those people would be idiots, because the message is dead-on.

    I highly recommend listening to this if you like apocalyptic science fiction. The story-telling, production, and voice acting is all incredible! It will not disappoint.

    I love all the actors and familiar faces! I recommend listening to Wolf 369 of you liked this. They do real good with talking about details, and drama, and how well they they do with making it sound realistic. Also the ship is still up... They did use the people...

    Long winded and terrible voice acting. The episodes all feel like they could be half as long as they are. It’s as if they didn’t have an editor. And the voice acting just sounds unnatural - it actively pulls you out of the experience.

The entire series is thought provoking and unique vision into society, where we’ve been, where we might be going and who or what might be waiting at the end.

    Simply spectacular. The last episode floored me as a concept. I cannot wait to relisten and pick up on all the threads I didn’t notice the first time around. It was so nice to listen to both new and familiar voices. I hope we get more from these writers & actors!

    The stories are immersive and imaginative, and the performances are incredible. The only thing I can say is that I wish there was more! I cannot recommend this podcast enough.

    Each one of the stories is something special, this is a nice lil podcast that made me really feel some things. I’d recommend if you like speculative fiction. (Also the religious imagery is v sexy)

    First of all, it was great to hear some Wolf 359 voices again! The writing is top-notch. Who knew that an audio drama could stir up so many emotions! I also really want to compliment the overall production level. It seems like a significant amount of recent audio dramas are overly-produced (e.g. over the top sound effects and unnecessary music and transitions), but this show absolutely nailed production in every aspect. I flew through the episodes, and I’m sure I’ll be listening again soon.

    I thought wolf 359 was decent so I gave this one a try. I’ve listened to 3 episodes and it is not sucking me in at all. It isn’t holding my attention in the slightest.I don’t think I’m gonna continue listening.

    When
    You consider that each episode could be the basis for it’s own series, say 7-8 episodes, and that in the finale there are referenced memories to periods prior to episode 1, the level of storytelling witnessed is grand and extraordinary. Mix in the music, sound, and portrayals, the “end” result is near perfection, because nothing is truly that. But this is oh so close.

    Absolutely amazing writing and execution guys. I’m so glad that you’ve started a new series. And to the random scrollers who stumble across this while searching for their next podcast binge, give it a shot. Not every episode is for everyone, but there is definitely an episode for everyone.

    So so so so soooo good!!
    Every episode is so different the other. We get to view the fascinating worlds each story occupies. Sometimes they’re funny, other times, heartbreaking. I think the biggest heartbreak of all though is that it’s only 7 episodes!
