    Misophonia
As someone with misophonia, I beg whoever edits the audio to please remove the saliva/smacking noise when the host pauses. I can’t focus on the words because the mic seems to pick it up every single time, and all my brain hears is the smacks! I’m a new listener and Chelsea is so well-spoken and I enjoy the discussion; unfortunately, I can’t focus because of the clicking saliva sounds and would love it to be somehow removed or dampened.

    Meh
Used to be a favorite of mine but the “real people” interviews lately are usually a big miss. These guests need to be more heavily vetted before filming an entire episode. Good idea for these podcasts in theory, bad in execution. Also Chelsea, we get it, you had an untraditional wedding lol. I agree with Chelsea’s takes on weddings for the most part, but this seems to be a completely self congratulatory topic that she keeps bringing up for no good reason.

    Great Perspective
As a female veteran I really appreciate your latest episode. I unfortunately resonated with her experiences in the military and the struggle for women in the service all around. While I did not come from a military family or background, I faced similar challenges during my time in service and the ongoing efforts that need to be made for women in the military safety and security both physically and financially. Great episode. Thanks again!

    Victim Mentality
I used to really like this podcast but lately feel like it really promotes a lack of accountability and a constant victim mindset. Also, Chelsea often puts words in her guests mouths - if you're going to have guests on, I’d like to hear their honest thoughts, not the host’s.

Used to be a fan, tired
Used to love TFD and was happy when they moved to podcast format. But at some point, quit whining. It’s embarrassing to listen to someone who lives in the US complain about how nothing goes their way. Give me a break. I can’t listen to this anymore, it puts me in a sallow mood which is genuinely unhelpful for working on my life.

    Mixed feelings
In general i am a fan of TFD and especially this season of the podcast. That being said, Chelsea comes off as extremely pretentious and self congratulatory any time weddings come up. She’s a bit ignorant of how much labor costs, as well as the cultural significance of weddings. Especially considering the fact that she had a wedding and made some (IMO) silly and presumptuous requests of guests. Also the ads are so loud now :/

    Talk about single woman finances
They matter and need to be discussed more

    Set expectations low
If you’re trying to become financially savvy this is the wrong podcast for you. Lots of complaining and lack of accountability.

    Please change ADs transition
I’m not sure if this is a way to get people to start contributing to the podcast financially but what is happening with the terrible ad transition? I feel like this is a recent change but all of a sudden there is a MUCH LOUDER commercial in the middle of a sentence and it’s so jarring. It’s so bad, please fix it!

    So far so good.
No complaints about the show. Unless I’m missing some episodes the show always seems like a cautionary tale for creatives who make the choice and take the risks to do creative work for a living. Like somehow that’s bad that we’re not financial wizards. Being being financially savvy can be learned but I really do think some people are naturally gifted at being great with numbers and finance and that part can’t be taught. Just like creativity you can teach skills but not that intangible spark that inspires creativity. I think it’s that spark that moves some people like myself to choose creative work over a job with a 401k. It would be helpful to have more financial strategies that are a little more relatable. Otherwise it’s an interesting podcast.

    Too awful to be true
The too good to be true show is so bad. It’s just two people hating on things that some other people like. Are Magic the Gathering cards a good investment? Are rods and reels? Golf clubs? Pyrex? Maybe to a few, but it’s really about a hobby or just things we like. I listened to the most recent show called “how Disney made the timeshare industry worse.” It started as a knockoff episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, and then spent an hour explaining why timeshares in general are bad ideas, but Disney does things differently, but they are still bad. Also did you know Disney World trips are expensive? The hosts just bash how much a vacation costs. And yet, millions of people choose to go every year. We get it, you don’t like Disney- enough to make it an hour long without talking to someone who purchased their “worse” timeshare. We also never hear a comparison of timeshare companies or their costs. When they finally “interviewed” a DVC “owner,” he said his grandparents purchased more than once, but the first time was in 2000. And implies they bought more points. Did the family like it? Obviously enough to buy more, but we done get to hear that. We only hear from people who talk about timeshares generally, none of whom have actually purchased despite getting told 9.9 million people own them.

The only financial podcast I can actually listen to
I really appreciate this approach to financial discussions as someone who never felt “good” at money nor had an easy time learning about finance 101 this has really felt like a podcast for me. I’ve learned so much without feeling talked down to or at. Also so excited for Chelsea’s book so impressed at the whole endeavor and the transparency in the recent ep was so refreshing! I would love for another episode from the perspective of someone going through a publisher or even from a publisher

    Audio Quality/Volume issues
I love TFD (am a Society member), I appreciate the Too Good to be True podcasts, but the audio quality keeps me from listening to this feed as much as I would like to. It’s not just an episode to episode difference- there will be multiple times within the same episode (especially in TGTBT shows) where Ryan will be very loud, and Julia very quiet, and other interviews even more quiet somehow. Sometimes it’s the opposite as well- where Julia is louder than Ryan, or in TFD shows, sometime’s Chelsea’s volume is louder than the guest. This volume range means I can’t listen to this show when I am most wanting to: while cooking or getting ready in the mornings. I can only seem to listen if I am wearing my noise canceling headphones with my podcast equalizer setting, or else I might miss some of the content simply because I can’t hear it. It’s really a bummer because I want to listen more often, but I feel constantly behind because I can’t listen when I’d like.

    Love but a bit confused
I really really love both The Financial Confessions and Too Good to Be True but why are they both under the same name under this podcast? Shouldn’t the second one have it’s own podcast? Plus, the episodes aren’t marked as which is which, so it’s really confusing. When TGTBT was about to come out, I remember them saying it would be its own podcast. Was I misremembering or something? Or was it just always only gonna be a few episodes? Like I love both truly, but a bit more consistency and less confusion would be nice. I think there’s another podcast already named Too Good to Be True, so is that why they mixed the podcasts? I feel like they could have just renamed it then though? I don’t know, I’m really confused.🫠 Again, no hate intended! LOVE all of your content, but some clarification would be much appreciated please❤️

    Felt seen and heard
I’ve been listening to your podcast for a few years now, and I’ve been noticing that you’ve been saying more and more, or at least acknowledging, that some of the people you talk about are in Hetero relationships. Such a small thing goes a long way and I felt seen and heard. That we need to acknowledge the differences and the presence of lgbtq relationships even if it’s in that indirect way. Thank you.

New show isn’t on par with the old one
Too Good To Be True just isn’t as savvy as the old show in which Chelsea hosted and interviewed professionals. The most recent episode features someone who graduated with $15,000 in student loan debt for their art degree (which is really quite low), took an unpaid internship post-grad, and defaulted on their loan. I’m not here to shame anyone but stories like this don’t really resonate with a money-savvy audience. Also the hosts make sweeping statements without any regard for nuance. Finally, the hosts themselves don’t seem to be very good with money (e.g. taking on debt to pay for cosmetic surgery).

    Offers great financial insights!
Love this podcast! This is my favorite finance podcast! Chelsea is a fantastic host, always asks great questions, and stays on topic and great at driving the conversation. I’ve learned quite a bit from listening and appreciate the variety of guests she has on from financial experts to food bloggers to fashion experts - while all staying relevant to money topics.

Chelsea, I love the show and general content. Even most of Julia’s content. But she just rubs me the wrong way. Despite her Incredible credentials, her analysis is extremely thin and her clueless magnanimity only serves to harm the show. Love what you are delivering overall, but expected a consistent level of credulousness.

    Fix levels
Hi! Listener of several years-the levels have been a bit all over the place recently. Super quiet, so I turn the volume up, then I get blasted away! Can this be fixed?

    Change Is Good
I’m enjoying the new format. It’s refreshing to hear new voices. My only complaint is similar to the one that has been expressed about Chelsea. It’s difficult to enjoy a podcast when one host continuously speaks over the other one. If they can smooth out this issue, I’ll continue to listen.

    Miss the old format
I personally miss the old format where Chelsea interviews experts and influencers in various fields about money. It was the perfect balance of entertainment and education. Don’t want to be mean to the new hosts because they seem like great people, but to me this swings too much in the direction of entertainment and isn’t for me.

    Where did chelsea go?
Hi. Im so confused why chelsea hasn’t been on the podcast lately? Please come back. I don’t get the reviews that say she talks to much or is opinionated. I want to hear her opinion. And she hosts a podcast of course she talks alot. There would be a lot of dead air otherwise. I think if she talks over guests shes just excited to make a comment. Anyway i would like chelsea to come back thanks.

    Hit or Miss
I’ve been a follower of TFD since the beginning and I look forward to seeing (or hearing) from Chelsea every week. I noticed a lot of feedback that she spoke over the podcast guests and maybe that’s valid, but I'm sad to see less and less of her across their shows. Hoping they can find some middle ground in the near future. The other TFD hosts are just fine, but it isn’t the same as hearing from Chelsea and it’s not a draw for me to tune in. If anything, it’s a deterrent.

    Updated review
I was one of those reviewers that commented on Chelsea talking a lot and not the guests as much — just listened to the episode of just chelsea and she notes this feedback and how she adapted from it going forward and I wanted to update my review to say 1. That’s amazing that she reads and listens and cares, and 2. This new season has been so great and I’ve felt the difference and I’m happy the podcast is still being made for me to come back to and try again!

Host talks so much even when the guest is an expert
I listened to an interview with someone I really love but the host talked so much (and this was a cooking episode) that it completely ruined the interview. I think even for interviews with guests in finance the podcast hosts I love are the ones that are also excellent listeners and can ask questions I might not have thought of. This is clearly not that sort of show.

I could listen to Chelsea talk about anything
I’ve read reviews criticizing Chelsea for not letting her guests talk as much, but I listen to the show specifically for her take. I don’t see a problem with guests sharing their expertise and opinions on a subject and Chelsea engaging in a dialogue to share her own. It’s not a news interview; it’s a podcast. Chelsea is intelligent, articulate and has a strong self of self, which can be intimidating to those who think women can express their opinions — just not too loudly. It’s the same people who don’t like Taylor Swift but “can’t explain why.” I’m sure she isn’t mourning anyone’s departure though, and I hope she continues to stay true to herself and run the show her way. If you want “how to’s” and specific advice, visit her YouTube channel or Instagram. As for me I kindly request more episodes chatting about current events with Ryan :)

    Fell Off
Used to be great but it’s gotten much worse over time. Too political, Chelsea talks more than the guests and it doesn’t seem as money focused as it used to be. Sad to say I had to recently unsubscribe

Disappointed in Episode 40 - RUDE
UPDATE: DIRECT post about MLMs on the instagram. Unfollowing. What a sad way to build a platform. Judging the way other provide an income for their family. Disappointed is an understatement since I’ve recommended this podcast and brand to countless friends. I love this podcast and I am a weekly listener; have been since the beginning. I recognize that this is the financial confessions and not the financial advice podcast, but I am very disappointed in some of the messaging lately. As someone who loves the Instagram page of this podcast as well, I find a lot of helpful tips. However, to have half an episode comparing MLMs to crime and gangs is absolutely ridiculous and offensive, especially when I can guarantee that a good portion of your followers use MLMs as hope to increase their income, or simply have a different work from home situation, and have great success in it. I will give it another try next week, but I’m furious after listening to you and your guest cackle about a topic that pertains to your viewership is just embarrassing. AND TRUST ME, I am not someone who gets offended, but this episode is just plain rude.

    The best podcast!
This is the only podcast that I have stuck with since 2019. Truly, it is the best! Chelsea is an amazing host and the individuals they interview are all very interesting. I like that the podcast isn’t 100% about money/budgeting but they always tie it back to finance and money in some way. In all Honesty, when they said they were going to stop releasing podcasts because of COVID I was so disappointed because I look forward to it every single week.

    Think Differently
I’ve loved The Financial Confessions from the start & am a big fan of TFD. The podcast has helped me learn how to better manage money, caused me to think about finances in new ways, & forced me to recognize and acknowledge the different privileges I've had throughout life. Episode #12: A Divorce Lawyer on Prenups, Ugly Money Arguments, & What People Don’t Know About Divorce is to date, my favorite. It came out a few days before I got engaged. My fiance had asked me if I wanted a prenup & at first I was rather insulted. The next week, we were back from vacation, and I was playing catch up. I listened to the episode & instantly, my mind shifted. I wish everyone considering marriage would listen to this.

I really wanted to like this...
Longtime TFD follower and reader, but the podcast has become too much. The whole platform has morphed from interesting money advice to the Chelsea Fagan Show. Guests seem to be an afterthought or are fighting for oxygen. I find myself skipping past Chelsea’s commentary to get to when the guests speak. Oof.

    Poor Interview Skills
Chelsea constantly interrupts and talks over her expert guests. Some how the conversation always comes back to her and it comes off as very arrogant and know-it-all, though she calls her guest the “expert”.
  • Murderhornet1
    Host needs to listen
Host is talking over the guests and not really asking thoughtful questions. it’s hard to listen to. Host needs to study some interview shows and work on her interviewing technique.
  • sawyerfin
    Stop interrupting
I keep trying this podcast because I love the topics and guests, but cannot stand how the host takes over everything. Like, why have a food blogger on if you’re apparently an expert already?
  • TylerV15001
    Host talks over guests FREQUENTLY
I am a member of the PF community and have been following TFD for years. High quality content and guests on this show, but Chelsea cannot help herself and interrupts or talks over the guests all the time. Unfortunately I’m unsubscribing because I’m not here for the Chelsea Fagan rant show, I’m here to learn about guests’ experiences and platforms/projects. Wish I could rate higher but the listening experience is so frustrating.

    Intuit / Turbo Tax
It’s hard for me to listen to a podcast about finance that is sponsored by Intuit. They have scammed so many Americans into unnecessarily paying to file their taxes. They have purposely made it difficult to find the actual free version of TurboTax. This is something I would have assumed TFD would be against.

Honest, down to earth conversations about money and wealth
TFD is the reason I began to think more carefully about work, money and wealth-building goals. Chelsea speaks openly and honestly about her money experiences, many of which I can relate to, and offers solid advice and resources to help meet your goals. Listening to her podcasts and YouTube video is like having a conversation with a caring, been-there-done-that friend who just wants you to know what’s out there and wants to see you succeed. This podcast is for anyone who doesn’t come from money or doesn’t know where to start to get advice on money management, wealth building and personal finance. Thank you TFD and Chelsea for this awesome podcast!

    Obsessed with Chelsea
I love how Chelsea FORMS her opinion if that makes sense?? She’s just a smart gal. Would listen to a podcast of her just talking about anything, so learning financial tips is a major plus.

LOVE a platform for empowering women (and everyone) with money
As someone who considers myself really good with money, this podcast is speaking my love language. I’ve learned so much from the wide range of guests that Chelsea has on and she is a great host, keeping the interview on track and easy to follow without the video portion.
