JakeC89This podcast is excellent!I’m a newcomer to this podcast, but I’m so glad I ran across it - it’s EXCELLENT! I personally love the monologues. They are filled with wonderful expressions to add to my Portuguese toolbox, and then to have Eli explain them all in Portuguese…it’s wonderful! Bravo, Eli!!! If you’re an intermediate Portuguese learner, you won’t want to miss this podcast! Subscribe now!!! Obrigado, Eli!

JimboBrazilTreasure trove for Portuguese language learningEli has assembled a formidable repertoire of many examples to help beginning and intermediate learners learn Portuguese through examples, vocabulary and grammar, demonstrations, and interesting clarifications about the normal and idiomatic parts of the language. Carefully prepared and skillfully delivered, this underappreciated resource provides a great foundation for independent study. Are used it to help me with my journaling practice, as well as my listening practice.

The OVT NetworkSuper Dope Podcast!I am an intermediate/conversational Portuguese speaker who lives in Brazil. I found out about Eli’s podcast about a year ago and, it has helped IMMENSELY. The cultural things he adds (plus his occasional dip into his baianês accent) really help with understanding the things that make Brasilian Portuguese, brasilian!! Bravo!

DaniCorazonSo useful!I have casually been learning Portuguese with Eli’s app for the past couple years through Spotify and he is an amazing teacher! He speaks slowly enough, makes all his stories interesting, and breaks things down super well. I really appreciate it!!

susanwiredA resource not to be missed! In this podcast, Eli presents carefully crafted realistic dialogues and situations for his listeners, then squeezes so much learning out of them that you will be amazed! The vast majority of the podcast is devoted to the analysis portion, all in Brazilian Portuguese played at a slower speed. I usually listen at 1.5X speed. I am at a high intermediate level, and I learn so much in this podcast that I try to listen to only one a week so that I can get the most out of it. Eli provides a full transcript of the monologue portion for free. In addition to the regular episodes, Eli publishes mini episodes that provide a close-up on some aspect of Brazilian Portuguese. Not surprisingly, these are also excellent! The only complaint I have about this podcast is that sometimes I feel discouraged that there is SO MUCH I still have to learn in Portuguese. It is at those times that I tell myself, “um passo de cada vez.” Also check out Eli’s other podcast, Read Brazilian Portuguese Every Day, for learners at a lower level, which I have not yet outgrown! 😉

alkcoeksAmazing, unique, incredibly useful[EN] An absolutely vital podcast for anyone trying to learn Brazilian Portuguese as it's spoken in everyday life by Brazilians. Each episode consists of a monologue that the teacher reads super slowly, before then explaining the different expressions he used. At the end, he rereads the monologue at a much more natural speed, even a little fast. What I like about this podcast is the diversity of subjects in each episode. It varies between the type of topics you would expect, like describing illnesses and getting medical help, to more niche topics like cosmetic surgeries. I also like the diversity of the expressions he teaches. He teaches expressions from varying linguistic registers, from more formal to informal to super informal phrases and words. The third thing I like about this podcast is the diversity of the perspectives presented in the monologues. Portuguese has grammatical gender, and i was pleased to hear that at least one of the episodes is from a woman narrator. Eli doesn't assume we are all white straight men.
