MakdnfnskaoThis pod will save youI’m literally emotional writing this. My last babies have been weaned for a few months now and I still occasionally listen to an episode for comfort like a weirdo. I had my first baby in 2021, I was completely unprepared for breastfeeding and ran into a lot of the common hiccups. I listened to this podcast every morning with my coffee, they have an episode for EVERYTHING. These women are who you wish could come over and sit with you when you’re in the weeds, and I relied on them heavily in those first weeks and months. Once we hit a stride I kept listening because I truly enjoy them. My second pregnancy was twins. I was lost all over again when it came to feeding them. I had a lot to learn about pumping, milk storage, mastitis all the fun stuff. I went back and listened to old episodes again, kept up with the new ones - it was a life saver yet again. I joined the Patreon and truly enjoy the content, I also sent a question or two and got really helpful and thoughtful responses. Amazing. I genuinely don’t think I’d have made it to 3 never mind 16 months of breastfeeding with out Heather and Maureen!

Amanda Brooke LCup filling — heart, soul, and baby’s tummyThis podcast has been my go to resource throughout postpartum. I deeply appreciate your humor, intelligence, and incredible ability to de-escalate fear-inducing scenarios. I recommend your podcast and work to anyone who will listen, particularly postpartum doulas who work with tons of new mommas. Thank you for making me laugh when I was unable to see the light. For helping me breastfeed baby G with confidence. For making me feel seen, heard, and understood. For accompanying me on all of my dreary-eyed, winter walks with baby. You two are the best! Thank you for your hard work 👏

Emkay9377Must-listen for pregnant women/nursing momsMaureen and Heather are the kind, funny nursing mom friends (who also happen to be lactation professionals) I never had! Wish I listened a bit before I gave birth to get an idea of getting a good first latch, choosing bottles, and so on. 10/10. Let’s get more moms nursing and make this podcast go huge!!

Carrie Ann HanMy most recommended pod!As a childbirth and lactation educator and a leader of newborn support groups this is the pod I recommend the most to expectant and new parents. I also have loved listening weekly as well as working my way through past episodes to broaden my own knowledge. Interesting and evidence-based, this is the BEST pod on lactation and feeding babies.

lover if podcastsBreast friends and my go to gals!I am going on 11 months breastfeeding and pumping my baby girl. I could not have been successful with out Heather and Maureen! I am Constantly referencing episodes. When I have a question, there’s an episode for it. There’s even an episode about how unprepared most healthcare professionals are in supporting lactation. Breastfeeding is constant commitment and hard work, but The Milk Minute always makes me feel less alone, and offers a laugh along the way. I am so very thankful for you ladies. Thank you for all that you do!

KLJKitKatThis is my new favorite podcastI am currently bingeing this podcast and it is helping me heal my breastfeeding/pumping/lactation trauma and validating a lot of the frustrations I had in my experience with my first baby, who is now 8.5 mos. I’m an extreme low milk supplier to the point where I never fully developed my milk supply, never got to breastfeed last day 3 in the hospital, and I have been trying to figure out what the tipping point was for me… between being a first time mom, c section delivery, a 37 weeker, slight jaundice and nurses pushing the formula and bottle agenda, and then baby wanting nothing to do with the boob ever again! Plus add in some health stuff, hashimotos, postpartum hypertension and type 1 diabetes. And then not knowing what do with pumping, flanges, etc. I was so underprepared and overwhelmed, but I am learning so much now by listening to to you two and I’m highly entertained by your vibes and banter. I’m planning to be so prepared for the next baby and I’m absorbing all of this info you are giving us listeners. Thanks for being awesome and entertaining!!
-
Kekekeke1233Eternally gratefulThis podcast (and Beyond the Boob) is a huge contributing factor to my successful birth and first few days postpartum. Here are a few of the things that came up that I was informed about because of binging this podcast in the 3rd trimester: second day cluster feeding, expressing colostrum for my Coombs (?) positive baby, nipple shields, tongue and lip tie, syringe feeding, delayed cord clamping, pacifiers, and literally countless others. I am so lucky to have had an amazing team of informed nurses and LCs at my hospital that made a huge difference in my experience, but I also was armed with knowledge of my own not to be discouraged and to ask the right questions. Literally life changing, and I am forever grateful.
-
Taylor1121ELMust listen while pregnant!I listened to almost every episode while pregnant and truly believe it played a huge role in my successful start to breastfeeding. It allowed me to feel confident and informed postpartum when I otherwise felt groggy and tired. The lactation consultant who came to check on me postpartum thought this was my second baby as I looked “ so comfortable and had a great hold and latch” Everyone’s journey is different but I truly think going into breastfeeding informed made a huge difference! Must listen for new moms!
-
Elyse FaganBest lactation podcastI never write reviews but felt that I needed to. It took me a while to find a really good lactation podcast and I found it!!! I’m an IBCLC and love this podcast. So educational, funny, entertaining, and relatable. Love all the evidenced based info! It has really helped me be a better lactation consultant. Great job Maureen and Heather!!

Andymb2I am a physician mom and I love this podcastThis podcast is phenomenal! The cohosts are smart and funny, I love their banter. It feels like Heather and Maureen are my good friends! The podcast is evidence-based, and I learn so much! They clearly do their homework to stay up to date. This podcast has increased my confidence in breastfeeding, and I feel so grateful, thank you!
-
mcole27A wonderful resource!I have learned so much about breastfeeding through this podcast!! Heather and Maureen do a great job of explaining common breastfeeding issues and providing comfort to mommas. The start to my breastfeeding journey was difficult, and learning from them helped me get through some tough nights. Their guidance, encouragement, and general happy demeanor has been a blessing! Thank you!
-
EllllHarpFantastic Podcast and ResourceWhat an incredible resource for breastfeeding Moms! This podcast is educational, entertaining, and easy to follow. Maureen and Heather are clearly well educated and such a knowledgeable resource I can trust in a world of conflicting information in the motherhood space. The wide array of topics they cover is so helpful when you need an answer quick, and it’s an enjoyable listen too. Love that they address each episode as a conversation among friends. Could not recommend more!
-
HappyGilly520222Game Changer! This podcast was everything for me after having my second baby! We would go on walks and I would listen while my oldest thought I was crazy for laughing so hard all the time! Heather and Maureen are so real about motherhood, personal struggles and obviously breast feeding and come loaded with all the cool facts and information on how to deal with the daily struggles. If I had any questions I felt like I could always find an episode to answer them. I’ve recommended this podcast to so many new moms and even other CLCs who have found a lot of useful information for those first hours of life and establishing breast feeding for mamas. Thank you Heather and Maureen for this awesome resource!

maerockGot hooked with the Halloween episodeAfter just two episodes, I became a Milk Mate. I listened to a few other random episodes (including the tongue tie one that spoke to me in so many ways) and then laughed so hard at the Halloween one that I woke my sleeping baby 😹 I’m so happy to have found an inclusive, educational, funny podcast about something so important to me. Now, I wish I could remember which Reddit post recommended this podcast!
-
marieffffffOnly WOMEN give birthWhat’s a “birthing person?” Only women give birth! Only WOMEN have breasts ! I’m not a “person with breasts.” How can I take anything you say seriously if you don’t even know these basic biological facts ?
-
eugeneandabbeyEducational, Inclusive, AuthenticWith Milk Minute, Maureen and Heather do what so few health care professionals can do - provide evidence-based lactation and parenting education while also meeting learners and clients wherever they are in their experience. Their conversational style is authentic, approachable, and relatable, opening the door to more learning. I started listening at the recommendation of a local LC who didn't have time to see me as frequently as I needed in my daughter's early days/weeks. Although I'm on baby 2, I still felt so new to the process and overwhelmed by the frustration of poor latch, sleep deprivation, and tongue/lip tie, trying to decide if I needed to switch to exclusive pumping. I started listening to episodes about those topics and soon found myself starting at Ep1, inhaling all of the information H&M had to offer. Was I planning to breastfeed a toddler or get a nipple piercing? No. Did I still learn a lot from those episodes and get some belly laughs from H&M? You bet. Also highly recommend their individual consultation service to further tailor the support to your individual needs. Highly recommend. Thanks, Maureen and Heather, from your next door Maryland neighbor! 🤗
-
Mhf00009The best podcast for all things baby!Maureen and Heather feel like your best friends. All support, no judgement, and tons of research backed and incredibly helpful information. Every time I listen to them, I’m encouraged and empowered to continue breastfeeding my baby. I just adore these women and this AWESOME podcast!
-
Kathryn466So helpful!I can’t explain how helpful this podcast is! I recommend to everyone!
-
SinglikesingasongLiterally taught me to breastfeed my babyMost of us who are learning to breastfeed today are millennials generation that’s unlike any other generation. We WANT to breastfeed but we have to look elsewhere for resources and guidance because our boomer parents were steered away from breastfeeding and most of them didn’t have a chance to do it. That applied to me and my mom so I turned ti this podcast to learn about everything I needed to know to breastfeed and they have been literally taught me everything I needed to know about breastfeeding!
-
Michelle BB 87Informative and Hilarious!I’ve been listening to this podcast for years. Maureen and Heather are informative, unbiased, and hilarious. I feel like we’re pals. I even like their ads! And I can’t say that for any other podcast. Highly recommend for baby-feeding info and just for a good time.
-
Meghawk18Simply amazingI wish I were better at putting into words how much I love this podcast because I know I will not do it justice. Heather and Maureen are crazy passionate about helping women be their best selves and along the way sharing ways to make your breastfeeding journey better. I feel good about myself as a mother after listening to them. They are relatable, hilarious and give the most up to date and evidence based knowledge.
-
Jolene Rebecca 123Love this podcast. Best one on breastfeeding I’ve found!!!!Oh my gosh the best breastfeeding podcast. They are funny, very intelligent and informative. I’m a total nerd and LOVE how they go into the science(y) part of things-how and why things work a certain way. Love love love this podcast as a breastfeeding mama and lactation professional!
-
Z ReedPart of my morning routine!Since discovering this podcast, I now start every morning with listening to an episode. I’m 13 weeks along in my pregnancy and have found this podcast incredibly informative and already feel my confidence increasing in taking on the many twists and turns ahead. Bonus — it’s also hilarious, heartwarming and inclusive to all experiences surrounding pregnancy, breastfeeding and parenting. I’m lucky enough to be pregnant with 4 of my good friends (surprisingly, not planned by any of us), and they’re lucky enough to have me sharing episodes with them daily! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and love!
-
AshGadwayEvidenced-Based, Inclusive, and Empowering!I started listening to Milk Minute Podcast when I was pregnant. I remember thinking “How can there be 100+ episodes on breastfeeding? Don’t you just put the baby on your boob?” After my baby was born, I quickly realized how naive that thought was. So many difficulties can pop up. There are nuances to latching, pumping, bottle feeding, and a million other little things. Heather and Maureen don’t shy away from any topic and they are incredibly thorough, evidence-based, inclusive in so many ways, and have a wealth of knowledge on all things lactation between the two of them. My breastfeeding journey has not been an easy one. My baby didn’t latch for the first 6 weeks. I was pumping, using formula, and incredibly discouraged as none of this was in my plan. I kept trying to latch my baby and one day, at 6 weeks old, he latched! I know for a fact I would not have had the confidence to persevere and continue to pump and keep putting my baby to the boob without Heather and Maureen. My baby is now 4 months old. With the help of the Milk Minute Podcast, and meeting with Heather 1:1 (which I also HIGHLY recommend), I was able to boost my supply enough to feed my baby with only my milk. I even have a freezer stash which is small but growing! If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, a support person to someone pregnant or breastfeeding, or just want a safe place to get the most up-to-date and tastefully delivered information on all things lactation, you’re in the right place! -Ashley G.

Mm147434092Lazy latcher loves this podcastI have been listening to this podcast for a while now, and being four weeks PP, the episode about popping off the breast couldn’t have come at a better time. I have been frustrated the past couple days with a lazy latch, both on my part and babies and dealing with pain as a side effect. This episode reminded me how important it is to have a good form and what I could do to help my situation. So grateful for these ladies and their expertise!
-
RuralMidwifeGrateful midwifeThank you so much for this podcast, as a CPM I have greatly appreciated your podcast and all I learn! I only have basic breastfeeding training, and this has been quite helpful to keep up my learning on how to educate and better serve my clients and I love referring episodes for them to listen too.
-
LissetD12Great information, I wish it was available in Spanish!I started listening your podcast in the second week of my first breastfeeding journey and I wish I found you earlier as the information you share alleviated so much anxiety and questions I had. You two have this easiness that makes me feel I’m your friend who you’re making some recommendations and you’re also funny! I’m from Peru and recently moved back home and I wish I can share this podcast with mom friends but they only speak Spanish :( I’m shocked to hear that lactation consultants here are not a thing and that sometimes normalcy is to have sore and wounded nipples (it shouldn’t!). Thank you for your great public health work!
-
sun4k8I just love every minute.😂I’m an LC in Ohio and fairly recently found this podcast. Every episode has made my heart and mind HAPPY😍 from geeking out listening (and then bringing the info to my hospital team) about the new mastitis protocol, to episode 141-hearing for the first time my personal feelings of motherhood articulated so simply and profoundly, I just don’t know the words to say more than THANK YOU🥰🥰🥰 you guys are on POINT and I am so THANKFUL to have found you and for your willingness to share and be vulnerable. Now I know I’m not alone, and as I’m sure you’re discovering more and more with each episode, that you are not alone either. What a GIFT. THANK YOU💕💕💕

boilerhkReal Moms Real TalkI have enjoyed listening to this podcast and the information I have gained from it. The ladies are very straight forward and honest with their information and their own struggles. They make me want to be an IBCLC someday.
-
Shorty5187These women are empowering! The knowledge base and community this show has built is invaluable! I am so grateful my friend suggested this group to me; it has saved my postpartum journey and empowered me with the necessary and elusive knowledge, and inspired me to share the group and the knowledge with as many friends as possible in this phase of life. We are building each other up, and I am so here for it. Sending love and appreciation to Heather and Maureen!
-
SnmajorsSo helpful for new moms and moms of multiples!I found this podcast while pregnant with my second child and although I breastfed with my first kid, it had been 7 years and I felt like I was relearning all over again, but this podcast has helped me so much! I truly enjoy everything about this show and how open and honest the ladies are. I’m a forever fan!
-
juliamarawGreat resourceI LOVE this podcast. So much great information that has been well researched and is delivered in a nonjudgmental and fun to listen to way. Can’t say enough good things about this podcast! I love you ladies and it makes me proud and excited to be studying to be a nurse and maybe one day help more women with breastfeeding and women’s health!

LauraDionneValue Added: IncalculableI am a new lactation consultant with an hour drive to and from work. I cannot begin to describe the gift it has been to have Maureen & Heather along for the drive as I listen to Milk Minute. I’ve learned SO much and their wit, compassion, and intelligence has influenced the provider I am. I use their suggestions and techniques at work every day! Please keep going…your work is a gift to breastfeeding parents and the health care professionals who support them!
-
18wheelrwSo helpful!I am a mom of 2 and truly appreciate all the information you both put out and in an entertaining way! I have learned so much and even listen to episodes multiple times. Keep it up!

onlyserendipity9A Staple for Parents, Caretakers, Healthcare Professionals, and Moretldr: This podcast is the best in its accuracy, information, humor, and relatability. It’s perfect for any parent, caretaker, healthcare professional, or interested person who wants to learn more about feeding babies. 🤱🏼🥛🤱🏼🍼🤱🏼🥛🤱🏼🍼🤱🏼🥛🤱🏼🍼🤱🏼 I never got into listening to podcasts regularly before having my son in November 2021 and finding this podcast through searching for breastfeeding support groups on Facebook. Throughout the end of 2021 and all of 2022, I set a personal goal to listen to all of the available episodes and did just that! 🤩🙌🏼 I saw lactation consultants inpatient whenever I had my son and then a couple of times outpatient in the initial postpartum period. The podcast helped me so much more than the in-person visits. This is largely due to the time (more time available for a podcast where info is shared rather than a 30 minute visit or whatever) and the accessibility (can listen in from almost anywhere!), but that should also say a lot for how Maureen and Heather are working to reach an even broader audience than they could without the podcast. The information provided is accurate, evidence-based, realistic, and translatable into real-life practice. Additionally, Heather and Maureen provide the information in a way that is easy to digest, relatable, and often humorous as well. It’s so reassuring to hear their occasional anecdotes from their own personal and professional experiences. The ripple effect of this podcast’s helpfulness is immeasurable. Because friends and acquaintances see me still breastfeeding and/or pumping (or hear me talking about it) at 13 months so far, many come to me for advice based on my own experiences. I’m able to share that IN ADDITION TO additional accurate information thanks to Heather, Maureen, and the podcast! I love[d] all of it so much that I became and remain a patron on Patreon. It’s worth every penny to support the podcast in this way. I feel like Heather and Maureen are my best friends that I’ve never met, and they’ve even showed up once or twice in my dreams. 😂 Amazing, I love you guys, and I really hope we can meet someday!!! (#Fangirling). If you’re wondering if you should listen in… just do it. You’re welcome! Oh, and yeah, they swear. I find it humorous and relatable. It’s real, not scripted. I like that. So if that’s not for you, then move along. ◡̈
-
AmandaRaeCarterGrateful for this podcast! While I was in the trenches of newborn feeding issues, I stumbled upon this podcast, and it has provided me with so much peace, joy, and hope. I came for the info and stayed for the giggles! It’s truly the only podcast I listen to on release day each and every week, and I’m grateful to Heather and Maureen for breaking down the history and science of breastfeeding for us!
-
missgrovesYou can always find an answer!Anytime I have a question I can find an answer through the podcast! So nice to find answers and that you are not alone in the struggle!
-
Andrea TYMost validating/informative podcastI love love love The Milk Minute and recommend to everybody I meet (friends, family members, strangers on Facebook, medical providers who work with babies and parents). I WISH I knew about it sooner. I really tried to be well informed about infant feeding and nursing when I had my first baby in 2019, but after discovering this podcast when pregnant with my second in 2021 it became clear how pervasive infant development and breastfeeding misconceptions/lack of information is. This podcast was like a life raft and was such an amazing source or knowledge. It made me feel so much more confident in the choices I was making. Truly could not love it more. The one unfortunate side effect is that it has made me so frustrated that this information is not being shouted from the rooftops to literally everyone, but it has definitely increased my focus on advocating for and supporting parents.
-
alnibe12AMAZING!It’s hard to put into words how amazing this podcast is! I can’t recommend it enough! I sadly didn’t discover it until I was already 10 months into breastfeeding my son and had already struggled and found my rhythm, but I will definitely be using all the great advice they have with future children to hopefully struggle less. Thank ya’ll for all the advice and support you give to all the mom’s out there who may be feeling alone in the struggles of breastfeeding.
-
Breast pumpLove the Breast pump reviewI cannot say enough good things about this podcast. As an OB back to work WAY TOO EARLY, the Breast pump review was so helpful. I needed to hear that one pump would not solve all my problems. I am now wearing the Elvie stride and using the spectra when I can. Thank you for being so supportive in a culture that really needs to be better!
-
Horsehappy999994Saved my Breastfeeding JourneyI cannot say enough good things about Maureen and Heather. These women have truly helped me more than the in person IBCLC/CLCs that I have met with (and I’ve met with many). I feel like I’m hanging out with my close friends when I listen to their episodes. Each time I hit a new bump in my BF’ing road, I know they have an episode for me! They are always SO positive, accepting, comforting, and most of all they are FACTUAL! I love love LOVE that they only present up to date science backed info so that you can rest assured you’re following solid advice. Truly the best thing I have ever stumbled across and I recommend this podcast to every pregnant and lactating woman who I meet!! Thank you Maureen and Heather for being so amazing!
-
Amanda KulinaThe Best for all things Breastfeeding!Super grateful for Maureen and Heather as they provide so much breastfeeding knowledge and education (and humor 😆). When I was pregnant with my first, I knew I wanted to breastfed but didn’t put much (read any) effort in learning about it - I quickly found out it was so much more difficult than I anticipated. A friend shared their Facebook page and podcast with me and I instantly became hooked, and I had never found much interest in podcasts before! I find myself listening to their episodes several times, and they always have exactly what I’m looking for or need in the moment. Although breastfeeding didn’t “come naturally” to me, I credit my ability to continue to successfully feed my son (4.5 months and counting!) from a helpful IBCLC and of course, the Milk Minute podcast!
-
Mykala BerntsenTruly a Blessing ♥️I come from a family that never breastfed their babies, however, my husband’s family only ever breast-fed babies, so I was in a difficult position when we had our first child together. I preferred to pump and feed bottles and I couldn’t ever figure out why I had this aversion to breast-feeding, but I felt really alone. Then I found this podcast and was just listening trying to learn all the tips when I happened upon the DMER episode. It seriously was life-changing because I felt like everyone around me always talked about breast-feeding like it was this great thing, they always felt amazing providing for their baby and while I did feel great providing for my little, I had this horrible feeling that would happen every time I breastfed. After listening to this episode, I felt not so alone and it encouraged me to keep going with my breastfeeding journey. I now have a second little baby that I plan on breastfeeding until at least one year, and I still love this podcast. Thank you for all of the information you have shared!
-
BrittReckAngels is DisguiseI have battled mental health issues since before being a mom. I never wanted to take medication for my anxiety. After my second baby, it was very apparent that I needed to take that step because I felt like I was failing as a mom. The episode talking about different medications and how so many women go through this helped so much! My life has changed for the better. It’s not a fix all by any means but the difference it has made mentally is incredible. I feel like a better mom, wife and I am actually starting to love my life again. Thank you for letting me know it’s okay to take that step if you need it. ❤️
-
JustJaimeRadioInformative and fun!Love this podcast! They keep it so real about breastfeeding and are fun to listen to. It’s great having a community on their Facebook page as well. Looking forward to the next episode already!
-
rheebs15Just do itIf you’re looking for a fun way to research different breastfeeding topics look no further. Listening to a podcast makes you feel like you’re sitting down in your living room to hang out with a few friends. Maureen and Heather are the best ❤️
-
Mama to RGAbsolute Must-ListenI don’t think I would have made it to 8 months (and counting) breastfeeding without Heather and Maureen. They are true and brilliant professionals offering sound, researched advice because they care about babies AND moms. But more importantly, they are nonjudgmental, realistic and hilarious! They recognize one size does not fit all and that makes their advice so accessible and helpful.
-
taycollierJust the BEST!Absolutely love this podcast. As a breastfeeding mom & labor and delivery nurse I love everything about this podcast. I just want everyone to listen!!! I want to share all of this knowledge I’m learning from y’all with all of my patients and mom friends!
