Lynnard333Awesome Resource For Nurses!LOVE LOVE LOVE this podcast! I’ve been a nurse for 2 years now but only work a few times a month so haven’t got a ton of experience with my rapid responses or codes. I used to go into my shift TERRIFIED of them but this podcast is AWESOME and helps me feel more confident in my nursing assessments and skills. The thought processes she goes through that she’s had in real life situations are awesome and will definitely help shift my thoughts to productive instead of panicked when my first code comes up someday! Thanks for this awesome podcast!
-
BigBandFanThank youThank you for speaking to the heart of what we do. There is a ton of value in this and is a helpful resource for understanding s/s and reversing deterioration by looking at treatable causes. Love this and recommend to all my RRT brethren!

DP Beach GirlPreceptor podcastThank you so much for your amazing podcasts. I learn something every time!! I just listened to the preceptor podcast episode 113 and it was very helpful in bringing me awareness when I do start precepting. I am a new grad at 57! I have been on the MedSurg oncology floor for seven months now And just started getting nursing students assigned to me. Once I complete my first year in the transition into practice program, I will be qualified to precept. I did not have a good preceptor and I really want to be a positive role model for anyone that I teach. So thank you so much for this podcast. I will definitely be listening to it again!! ❤️

Lizsc1Super educational nursing podcastSarah does an amazing job breaking down patient presentation, nurse’s response, expected treatments, communication tips, etc. As a new graduate nurse residency coordinator, I regularly recommend her podcasts to our new graduate nurses.

Avatar pExcellentMy friend in nursing school pointed me in this podcasts direction, and I’m so stoked to have found it. I first listened to two-part ARDS (53-54) and they were super helpful for my exam, but more importantly understanding more about respiratory care and ARDS. Also, just listened to sepsis episode and learned LR has a closer pH balance to blood than NS. So much good EBP on this podcast.

Papa Please PreachGreat full breakdown from a nurseI’m a medical podcast junky always looking for this depth from the perspective of a nurse that dives deep. The podcasts hosted by physicians are sometimes mostly focused on medications/treatment, but I want the whole picture. Especially assessment. Add this to your resource list fellow nurses. Sarah’s enthusiasm is much needed at all times, but especially now when nursing needs some positive uplifting.

Alejandra1995AvilaOne day I’ll get thereI never thought that anyone would love to nerd out about nursing as much as I would. Everything that I crave to listen to is in this podcast. It’s got AMAZING explanations about pathophysiology, pharmacology, nursing skills, evidence based practice, and most importantly stories. Quick side note: I graduated nursing school, got pregnant, left bedside to grow my family, now work as nurse legal consultant. The schedule is soooo flexible and my co workers are great but… it’s not bedside nursing. My dream is to be an ICU nurse with some ER. But as of this season, my family needs me. In the meantime I’ll grow my knowledge. Get my BSN and any other certification I can. I really want to get to a positron where I can nerd out like Sarah and her colleagues. I don’t just want to be a satisfactory nurse. I want to be one of the kindest, knowledgeable and prepared nurses out there. I want to always stay humbled and understand that I’ll always need to learn. Thank you Sarah for being so great. I love your podcast and your guests are all amazing. You rock.
-

-
AQWPQJust a spoonful of sugar -rectal prolapseAs a Rapid Response Nurse and some one with rectal prolapse after child birth, I caution you in how you advertise this predicament. It’s an incredibly painful and embarrassing complication that shouldn’t be used as an example as a funny situation in a podcast. Teaching other nurses that this is a crazy, unheard of experience that “oh my goodness, can you believe it?”, is not professional and not beneficial to the patient. Rectal prolapse is more common than you think, but usually manageable with high fiber diet and good bowel hygiene, not always complicated by external prolapse. I wouldn’t want to be this patient, knowing it’s now fodder for learning on a now sensationalized topic. I’m sure you were trying to be respectful when talking to the patient, but the giggles throughout your podcast depict otherwise and set an example of what you really think. You are the role model for lots of new nurses and please try to set an example to always be mindful in preserving patient dignity.
-
mediocoremeThank you!I’ve been trying to find a solid nurse podcast that helps me understand the patho and know what to do if I see it in a patient. This podcast is by FAR my most favorite one!! I wish she had more podcasts I could listen to.

-
KfmnhausThe best!I want to be just like Sarah when I grow up! :) I had worked in the OR since 2009 when I made the switch to the ED in January of this year (I know, I know… people have told me I’m going about this transition backwards) and finding the Rapid Response RN podcast has been a crucial lifeline to my survival over the last 10 months. The way Sarah breaks down complex material into easy to understand (and remember!) anecdotes is remarkable. If I can’t be privileged enough to learn beside her in the flesh, I’m so glad she’s giving us the opportunity to learn from her through the power of her podcast and social media. Please keep doing what you do Sarah because you’re invigorating the next generation of nurses in a time that’s not necessarily easy to do so.
-
Baby ER nurseA must listen toI found this podcast in nursing school; I have graduated now and I love listening to it on my drives. I love the breakdown and the stories. Makes me feel like I’m seeing the patient. I will start my ER job in a couple weeks and I am binging on this podcast as I plan to become a CCRN and be a flight nurse! Thanks Sarah!

Peachy nurseEngaging and informative!Fun to listen to, great review, and very encouraging.
-
mama lazuBest podcast for nursing- ever.My friend stumbled on this podcast early in our nursing school journey. Nursing school was a lot of “you learned this in A&P” which sure, we did….however, without a breakdown of pathophysiology- you have nothing to hang your knowledge on. Sarah gives you a story with interventions and outcomes and explains WHY! Ive listened to every episode, and repeat ones that apply to what I’m being tested on. Figuring out the diagnosis in her mystery diagnosis episode made me realize how far I’ve come. I truly wish nursing school would have utilized Sarah’s style in teaching! Thank you for this podcast, keep being such a phenomenal role model for all of us! And more mystery diagnosis episodes please!
-
Blort953Perfect for new gradsI just passed the NCLEX and don’t need to livenon that parallel universe anymore. This is my new favorite podcast. Sarah reminds me of things that were not so clear and extends my perspective! ++ on thr COPD and BBQ episode; thanks for putting hypoxic drive in context; I now understand oxygen delivery options so much better!
-
At home in the cold northFantastic!I am so glad to have found Sarah’s podcast!! Her rapid response stories have helped me learn about a variety of different disease processes and helped improve my critical thinking…and her enthusiasm for understanding pathophysiology is contagious 😀 I really appreciate her encouragement to keep advocating for patients and her practical tips for communicating with the doctors and care team. I’m a progressive care nurse, only two years out of nursing school and I want to stay sharp and keep learning new things - this podcast is fantastic for just that!!
-
agb234I love this!I’ve been an LVN for almost two years but just graduated with my RN and am working more now. Now that I don’t have school I wanted to find something to help keep my mind sharp and make me a better nurse. I love Sarah’s advice and stories!
-
SAK13579Very informative podcastGreat perspective. Actual stories about real patients whose presentations aren’t always “textbook” really contributes to the learning process. Also makes it easier to understand the pathophysiology that follows. Encourages advocating for your patients. Also breaks down responding to urgent or emergent situations and gives you the tools to be confident when your patient is in trouble.
-
MallokmBest nursing podcastThis is the BEST nursing podcast I have found! I love the real life stories and medical physiological break down. These pods have made me a better nurse. Thank you!
