keeping this 1 star until he’s back

This podcast has become pretty hit or miss. Either the guest is very interesting or they have the personality of a plastic cup. A lot of mediocre comedians and writers that can’t hold an interesting conversation for more than 25 minutes. I’m sure it must be hard to find people to come on to your podcast after so many episodes but a guest-less episode every now and then doesn’t hurt.

This podcast sounds like it might be depressing, but the glass half empty, has never been funnier.

This podcast is a witty and entertaining piece that is worth listening to and sharing! Gianmarco and Russell have an awesome dynamic and make each episode so memorable.

The song says “blessings” with and S but Gianmarco says “blessing”. Which one is it!? It doesn’t matter truly. I love this podcast. Russel’s laugh is joyous and I look forward to hearing it. Excellent work to all.

I truly love this pod, it’s so interesting and I love the dynamic between Russell and Gianmarco. They are hilarious and honestly adorable together!! I love the crazy stories and how honest everyone is. There are some JUICY stories here. I don’t listen to many podcasts but this is a must-listen. Thank you guys for killing it every time!

I have been binging Gianmarco’s Instagram since I discovered him a few months ago, and now it’s his podcast’s turn. I love listening to this podcast because I love his improvy on the spot comedy. Looking forward to being able to see a show in person!

Enjoy the show, informative, funny, interesting. I agree with reviewers - show definitely needs more female guests, The guests, typically male, all sound the same. After a while i can’t differentiate the host from the guest. Definitely the hardest part of this show.

Can sometimes be a bit bro-y. Needs more women/non-binary voices.

Binging this podcast may be contributing to a dangerous delusion that I am actually best friends with Gianmarco and Russell, but I regret nothing. Awesome interviews, super funny, and excellent, relevant conversations. A new favorite for sure!

After seeing his live standup (which was awesome!) I decided to start listening to this pod - it didn’t disappoint. Gianmarco has a great combination of brains, curiosity, & empathy that keeps the show enlightening while still having fun. His guests are always comfortable opening up to him and you can sense the genuine connection there which translates to the audience. A good time for all!

The combination of storytelling and easygoing humor makes The Downside something I look forward to listening to every week. The pod is the most wonderful cross between a funny conversation and an interview. Gianmarco and Russell have an amazing ability to let there comedic personalities shine while also highlight the stories and experiences of their guests. Their dynamic alone is so entertaining and the easy rapport they develop with their guests is so fun to listen to. I’m so excited for more episodes to come!

Is it weird that after listening to a podcast trailer for a show that is supposed to find the negativity even in silver linings that I feel...happier than I have in days? I follow Gianmarco on Twitter and found his stand up show on Netflix (or Hulu? Amazon?- I don’t know it’s a pandemic I’m watching it all) and I think he’s so funny. Excited for the actual episodes to drop. In a culture that often pushes toxic positivity, I’m ready for The Downside.
