Don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot to like. The lore is fantastic and insightful. However, I find myself skipping close to 40% of every episode, the off piste moments tend to go way wide and derail for chunks of time. It also feels designed to pull more people in vs catering to those already listening. The mid break just isn’t for me, I’m probably in the minority here but it feels like a 15 minute chunk of filler. Patreon chats are a skippable fact of modern life, though five star review read outs are a little on the nose (Also, please just let N7Legend off the leash, we’re here for his insight not Robots’ “I do loads of lorecasts and have a patreon” energy). If you want lore, you’ll get it, though it at times feels like scanning ME2 planets for eezo. What you want is there, but you have to be patient and search for it.

    Multiverse Theory?
Love yall, started listening about a month ago and im already caught up…🐿️ Have yall heard of the multiverse theory? Where our Liara, using some sort of relay maybe a man made one👀 brings a Shepard back to our universe from another. A Shepard that dies on the icy planet in mass effect 2. Heard this theory from miss ParagoN7 on YouTube. It’s what I most want to happen tbh. Anywho Great show.

    My All-Time Favorite Podcast
This podcast is very well researched and composed. Props to Sam for that. It’s thoughtful and intentional with its time and direction. The way Tom responds to every topic consistently interests me as well. The organic conversations that emerge from each topic are interesting and insightful. Tom and Sam pull in real-world parallels and also contextualize the topic within the greater Mass Effect lore. They have great chemistry together and Tom is a skillful host who not only asks the planned questions but expands the topic with Sam. What could be a brief codex entry can become an interesting topic that ties into seemingly irrelevant pieces of the series. Like other listeners, Mass Effect as a series truly stuck with me, and deeply affected me. Sam and Tom do justice to the branching narrative that persists through three games, and reinforces my feeling that Mass Effect is arguably the greatest trilogy in gaming. Their passion and intelligence keeps the series close to my heart and on my mind. I hope they don’t stop making this podcast anytime soon. With the depth and breadth of the lore and the entertaining and fun way the show tackles it, they have the legs to continue this podcast until the far future when Mass Effect 4 (hopefully) comes out. The only thing new or different that I would love is to hear a cut down version of the Patreon episodes with just Sam and Tom talking. The topics are so fun and interesting, and the guests are too, I personally just only really like listening to Tom and Sam. Thanks for the great show guys. -Jericho

    :: Snidely:: Well actually!
Okay so since I got that out of the way lol, I absolutely love this podcast. I was introduced to it by another one, the Resident Evil lorecast, which started out on Robots. The hosts are very knowledgeable in their respective fields, Sam as our “Loremaster” and Tom as the Link to the listener/viewer. I got a late start to Mass Effect but I absolutely enjoyed the games, and I enjoy this podcast. More planet cards!!

There's only one rule on Omega: don't miss the Mass Effect Lorecast. After being introduced to the game with the release of the Legendary Edition and completing at least a dozen playthroughs, even venturing into Andromeda, I found myself feeling the post-binge emptiness. That's when I stumbled upon the Mass Effect Lorecast and immediately started catching up on over 1.5 years of episodes. By the goddess, thank you for creating such amazing content and fostering an awesome community! N7TheLegend, Sam, is equipped with a Mass Effect knowledge base that puts the Mars Archives to shame, and always remains true to his orginal commitment of sharing accurate lore. As a walking, talking codex, his passion for Mass Effect is contagious. While Tom offers a wealth of real-world knowledge and experience, which aids in analyzing characters and events from the universe we love. As a fellow parent it's always interesting to hear his perspective. Thank you for the laughs, tears, Danny DeVolus and Baby Krogen Battle Buddies. Highly recommend, I should go.

    Big dumb jellyfish!
Liara that’s all I have to say…. All jokes aside I found this podcast when I was going through a dark time in my life and l just got done with Mass Effect legendary edition but didn’t want my adventure to end so I found you guys and I fell in love with the podcast immediately, anyway I hate texting with a passion so I’ll say one more thing Sam & Tom are pretty cool dudes Keelah Se’lai.

I’m Commander Shepard and this is my favorite lorecast on the citadel
One of my favorite podcast I have discovered. I am a huge fan of this podcast and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in Mass Effect. I really appreciate Sams devotion to digging up lore, and his funny character intros are always very funny and entertaining. I also really appreciate Tom’s analogies to real world events. It’s always a joy to hear Tom and Sam during my day. I am about one year behind on episodes but i am catching up. This podcast reignited the spark for me in Mass Effect, and I am still riding the high. About 3/4 through a new play-through in ME2

As I’ve been replaying mass effect legendary edition (again) and andromeda I’ve enjoyed learning the lesser known lore and fact from the universe

    This podcast is a blast(o)!
I finally caught up on all the episodes and figured it was time to write a review. A friend recommended Mass Effect to me years ago, but it wasn't until recently that I had a system I could play it on. After playing the Legendary Edition for the first (and second) time, I went looking for a lore podcast I could listen to, certain that one must exist. This was exactly what I was hoping to find! Fun and informative, I would definitely consider this a must-listen for Mass Effect fans. I’m now on my third play through (and first modded play through) and it's cool to have more of the lore I've learned from this podcast in the back of my mind while I play. I've also picked up the novels and comics and have started on those and I'm really enjoying them. Thank you Tom and Sam for a great and obviously passion-filled podcast!

Been listening from the begining. The cemistry between hosts Tom and Sam is incredible. Their ability to convey the lore while also breaking it up and making it fun with little side tangents and jokes make it nice to listen to while at work on a busy day. The number of times my boss has looked at me like I was a mad man because I was laughing so much and the funny comments and jokes. Seriously, these guys do a great job explaining the Lore of the Galaxy. Ive been a fan of the trilliogy since I discovered ME2 and played it multiple times, I thought I knew alot but these guys have proved me wrong. I have learned so much about it while listening. Great Job Guys! Keep it up! Keelah Se'lai

    Great source of lore
After my most recent playthrough of the trilogy, I decided I wanted more mass effect content. I ended up stumbling upon this podcast and it’s been great! Sam is super knowledgeable, and Tom is a great host! I love the connections to our real world, I’ve been binging the show for a couple of months now, and I’m almost caught up. Looking forward to catching the show live before long!

I really appreciate the hard work that Tom and Sam put into this informative and entertaining podcast. Even as someone who has spent literal hours spelunking through the cavernous bowels of the in-game codices, I still learn something new from almost every episode. This lorecast is a great way to stay excited about my favorite sci-fi universe during the agonizing wait for Mass Effect 4.5. P.S. When is The Vorcha and The Yahg’s debut album going to drop? 😉

Great for fans of the series
The level of depth that Sam and Tom go into in some of these episodes makes me question how they have so much free time to explore the lore. I’ve been a fan for half my life and I cannot hold a candle to Sam. Great podcast with positive vibes. If you have ever wanted to know more this is now your go to codex.

It had to be you, someone else might have gotten it wrong
Thank you for providing fans with an amazing platform to support our shared enthusiasm for one of the best sci-fi universes that have been imagined. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and does not go unnoticed. Just to share a question for you: what would be your favorite soundtrack from ME? Without question the galaxy map song, Uncharted Worlds, deserves that recognition from me. I leave you with my favorite quote from ME: “Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters, the silence is your answer.” - Javik

Information is my weapon, Robotz, it’s good.
I have to say my one issue/negative first then give all my praise afterwards. The only thing that breaks my heart is when a new episode is not available. I really look forward to it weekly. Would love more consistency on that front. With that out of the way, I have been listening to the lorecast since the top of the year. I love it. I’ve been a huge mass effect fan since I played ME2 on the PS3 when it was first ported over and have played all the console installments multiple times. I can’t count how many times I’ve played the trilogy. I can’t get enough of the lorecast. N7 is the living Codex. Robotz has some interesting real life commentary that ropes it all together. It’s Mass Effect everything 401 meets Real Life Everything 402. The show has influenced me to play through the trilogy again. Keep up the great work gentlemen. Look forward to having 2 episodes a week soon. lol. When you begin considering a third permanent host, I’ll put my application in. This is my favorite lorecast on the citadel.

Very glad I came across this podcast!
Sadly, I’ve only recently discovered this podcast via Spotify. Though I am a completionist myself, there has been plenty I’ve learned so far! As of writing this, I’m only about halfway through the episodes so far. It’s been a good way to get through the work day and helps to make it more entertaining and learn some stuff in the process. Of course I have to make a few comments on the game itself. One: I always wished that if you went through all the trouble of gathering practically as many resources as possible, that the refuse ending could have resulted in a positive outcome. ( I did first play the original before the extended ending. I still have nightmares about it.) Two: I hate that there are obvious romance favorites in every series so far. I hate how some get full scenes and sometimes multiple scenes played out while others just get a simple fade screen. RIP Vetra fans… yes, there are some mods out there but I want my choices to feel equally valid and not like it’s just some side note like Tali’s original picture. Also, I don’t hate Andromeda. Sad they couldn’t do much of what was imagined by the design team but such is the way that game-making goes sadly. I actually quite liked the combat feel and movements. Keep up the great show and I look forward to future shows (and hopefully new mass effect games at some point too!) so I have even more to learn about the mass effect universe!

There, Mass Effect Lorecast. I wish you could see it like I do, people. It’s… perfect.
Played mass effect trilogy for the first time when the legendary edition came out. It quickly became my favorite video game series of all time. Just finished my 4th play through and couldn’t get enough. Found this while looking for audio books and I am so glad. I am almost caught up with all the episodes. The work that is put in and the knowledge given is incredible. Love when they include tie ins to real life as well. I have learned so much about mass effect from this podcast plus I find myself laughing half the time from the dad jokes and band names they come up with. Just love everything about this podcast. Thanks so much! Can’t wait until we can talk about Mass Effect 4!!

I’m Danny DeVolus and this is my favorite lore-cast on the Citadel!
Out of the several lore-casts I’ve listened to, this one is my favorite in part because of the sheer amount of research that is done to produce it. I am more than 50% of the way caught up (episode 72 of 131 at time of writing) and this just goes to show how in depth Tom and Sam go into each episode— there is so much amazing content that is explored from all sides. As a former journalist, I especially appreciate the “Just the Facts” mentality Sam brings to the show. Plenty of lore-based shows cross into the realm of speculation, but I love that this show is grounded in primary source material and direct quotes, and that our hosts even encourage us to take everything with a grain of salt. I wish my history lectures in school growing up had been produced this way! Keep up the great work. - BanditBear

    I love you guys!
Thank you N7 and Tom for all that you do! I am so great full that you guys share such passion in the lore of these great games! Mass effect is my all time favorite game franchise and I love how deep the lore is. I am currently going through the back catalogue of all of the shows on the robots radio network and then I plan on listing to rocket club members podcasts. These high quality podcasts help me get through my days of pushing fertilizer and controlling weeds in the hot South Carolina sun( I’m originally from New Hampshire). You guys keep me going every day!

    Love this!
I subscribed a bit ago but just started listening to all of the podcasts starting from the beginning. I love the commentary from both Tom & Sam - could not be a better team to discuss each topic. Thanks for doing this - I’m certainly enjoying my work day more listening to this podcast!

    Mostly a great time
I’ll start with the good; I just got done listening to every episode, and it has been very entertaining and thought-provoking. It’s a great way to sort of sit back and immerse yourself in the world of Mass Effect. The vast majority of my experiences listening to it have been very enjoyable, and I’m looking forward to future episodes. That said, it’s definitely not perfect. Tom can get a bit irritating, especially when he gets stuck on a topic or argument that hardly even relates to Mass Effect. He often doesn’t seem to know how/when to let things go. The new intro is painful. Tom’s talking and the music going at the same time is balanced terribly, it’s just noise. I used to let it play, but now it’s way too overwhelming. They get some things wrong — I’d double check before taking anything as canon info, particularly if it’s more obscure. I give them a bit of a break for that, because they haven’t played through the trilogy 20 or 30 times like I have (and I wouldn’t expect them to; being disabled and having little to no social life to speak of, I have way more free time than most). To their credit, they’re pretty good at acknowledging it and correcting themselves when an error is pointed out. Overall it’s a great show, and I definitely recommend it for anyone looking to dive deep into Mass Effect lore.

    Fantastic Podcast!
I recently found this podcast on Spotify while just looking for something new to listen too. It’s been a long time since I played Mass Effect but N7’s thorough dive into the lore has got me itching to play again! Not sure if there’s an episode on it yet but has anyone tried to get Neil DeGrasse Tyson on to talk about the physics and science side of Mass Effect?

I am a recent newcomer to the mass effect games thanks to the release of MELE. The world immediately hooked me and it has such a rich back story. You guys do a great job of curating that backstory and making it easily digestible. I have recently found your podcast on YouTube and now I am trying my best to get caught up. Im about halfway through your catalog and I am very pleased with the detail in which you guys explain things. Not a whole lot of people around where I live that enjoy mass effect that I can talk to so I have been enjoying hanging out with y’all to listen.

    My new obsession!
I can’t commute without this podcast, it makes my drives to and from work much more tolerable. I’ve never been into podcasts before so this is my first one and I can’t get enough. I’ve been a Mass Effect nerd ever since I ordered my first (used) copy of ME1 off Amazon 10 years ago. You guys give the channel such a nice touch to the lore with all the humor and real world similarities/comparisons. This podcast is such a great start to the day and alternatively, an effective way for me to wind down after work. Thanks for being you! Please keep the episodes coming!

An out of this world podcast
R0b0ts and N7 have a great podcast here that gets me through my day! The banter between the two make me feel as if I’m listening to two people who love to geek out about video games and just have a good time. I enjoy the tangents and the fact that the show gets derailed because, if it wasn’t for that there would be no excitement. It would literally be just lore that I can read from a wiki. These two bring it to life with energy and passion. Keep up the great work guys I look forward to so much more

The Best Podcast/Vid station in the Milky Way
I’m be only been watching for a week and mostly on YouTube but I might be transferring here, I’ve been playing mass effect since the release of Mass Effect two when I was 10 almost 13 years ago. I love this game series and community for the fact it is the most unified fan base of any game in my opinion. But about the pod cast I’ve been bouncing several the last year and I started my new job last week and found y’all at the same and have listening since! Once I get paid I’ll be buying into the Patreon For y’all i appreciate for informed you guys are and how entertaining and enthusiastic you guys are, I appreciate the hard work y’all do! The Mordin casts are my favorites so far especially with John Ebenger and never knew about that renegade scene with him. Enjoy the day y’all. Ps I was listening to “Mordins involvement in the genophage #104” by you guys as I wrote this thanks -Trip

    This podcast is fantastic
This podcast is my FAVORITE thing on the Citadel, and on Earth. I’m about to finish my Me3 play through legendary edition and I’m getting emo, but this podcast is helping me make it through, so thank you N7 The Legend and Robots! PS is nobody going point out how cute Sam is, sheesh!

    My Go-To Mass Effect Channel!
Always keeping a fresh take & fresh conversations going on for Mass Effect while we wait for the next game to come out. Thanks for what y’all do. I listen to this show to relax at night and learn more about the ME universe. #conradvernerismyfavoritecharacter

I am not Sovereign but this station is mine!
I just recently discovered MassEffect when I was able to download the Legendary edition for free on PS4. After playing through ME1 a couple times because I realized I was missing content and opportunities, I finally completed the trilogy. I became engrossed in the story lines and the characters. This pushed me to look for a pod cast that would discuss the lore. I am literally listening to the ep 7 Asari lore as I write this. 😏 I have some catching up to do. I also joined the discord. Robot and N7 are really doing a great job of filling in the blanks and filling out the backstories for the characters I have grown really attached to. I am glad I found them. As a side note. I give them credit for having the guts to forge through the never ending political and gender questions and discussions that the game story requires. In todays crazy land mine filled environment regarding these topics, it takes a really N7’s courage and skill to make it work. Well done 👍 I should go.*

    Love Listening!!
I haven’t been listening to Lorecast very long but I love listening. I work from home and I like to listen to podcasts while I work. When I found this podcast I was so excited because I just found the Mass Effect games again this last year after not playing since ME3 first came out. I’ve finished 2 play throughs this last year and I love learning more about the lore behind the games. I enjoy listening to how you all talk about the world that was created within these games.

Wish I had found it sooner!
I’ve been listening to Mass Effect Lorecast for a short time but I am loving this show. I listen to it when I’m driving to work, at work, back from work and even while playing my yearly ME run. I really enjoy listening- the host are great and do a great job or explaining the lore while throwing in real world aspects as well. I hope they keep going strong until we get even MORE content out of ME4!!! Thanks for all y’all do and know that this is Sam, and this is my favorite podcast on the citadel!

Great podcast to listen to if you want to dive into the Milky Way
I’ve not been able to stop listening to this podcast since I heard Two Girls One Ship talking it up on their podcast, and I’m so glad I found a well done podcast to binge. I started listening a week and a half ago, and I’m already at the Blood Pack episode! This podcast really helps paint a detailed picture of the complex tapestry that is Mass Effect, and it has launched me right back into a play through of Mass Effect. Thanks for making the work days go by easier!
  • Alanarkansas
Not only the best podcast on the citadel but also on the nexus
I started mass effect andromeda when it first came out cause I loved the trailer for it and it gave me chills. I knew nothing about the different alien species and the past or why we did all this, I didn’t even know commander shepherd, then when the legendary edition came out I played through it but was still unsure about small things, this podcast does the best job at explaining all the history in the game and all the little details you can miss if you just focus on the main story. This podcast always makes me come back wanting more and more both Sam and Tom make the podcast fun and enjoyable while also keeping your attention in a great upbeat way. Keep up the great work, that will be all
