Reviewer38484TaxesSince its such a privilege to pay taxes to you mind paying mine? I would rather pay out of pocket for thing to be nice than hand my money over to an “organization” to spend tax dollars as they please

AcetasticReal Solid. I do recommend.Mile Hi Fi is where deep, impactful conversations about financial independence meet the real joys of life—like cracking open a cold beer with friends or debating the great asparagus pee mystery. The hosts have a unique talent for blending serious life choices with lighter, laugh-out-loud moments, all while keeping health and balance at the forefront. Whether you’re tuning in for the wisdom, the beer recommendations, or just to hear them hilariously derail into asparagus land, this podcast offers the perfect mix of insight and entertainment. Cheers to FI, friends, and the occasional veggie tangent! #BalancedLife #AsparagusAndBeer Thank you Doug, Carl, and the guest hosts for providing quality content for my commutes and workouts! Cheers, -Sam

MngjugvbkjgvbhcGrow upWhen I was 7 I cussed like that just for the shock value. I know your show is rated explicit, but your immature fowl mouths detract from what could be a good podcast. People with low I.Q.s cuss like that to hide their ignorance. I actually think you guys are smarter than that, now I’ll never know because I’m unsubscribing. I can’t wait for you to grow up, or get smarter.

Tjenna SkovdeFinancial advisors - pros and consDecent podcast - was hoping for more. Amberly spent to much input around Canadian taxes for a pro and fines etc. I was hoping for more on why or why not to have an advisor. What questions to ask, how to evaluate etc. I still came away with some good thoughts and will continue to listen. Thanks

cmp-singerGreat podcast!Entertaining and inspirational show about financial freedom and being intentional about life design…with funny commentary peppered in! Really enjoy the show!
-
meagannagaemEnjoyable conversationsI’ve enjoyed the guests and conversations about life after FI. People who complain about swearing need to pay attention to the E that warns you. Just because it’s not for you because of language doesn’t warrant a bad review or low stars, the content is good. Who makes their kids listen to financial podcasts in the car? 😂

JustakidgrrrReal TalkLove the real talk! No censorship needed! Swear away my friends!

NutvnjudthnvtyuLove Mr. 1500 daysI’m a big Mr. 1500 days blog fan. As one of the original Fire bloggers that I found I’m so happy I can continue to listen to his life now in podcast form since he doesn’t blog as much since retiring. I’m thankful for everything he’s done for the community and will continue to support him!
-
ingrid_tAuthenticHilarious and honest. Love the frank discussions of post-FI life. My favorite podcast for passing long hours on planes! Looking forward to meeting Carl at Camp FI.
-
MW in IllinoisRefreshing FI podcastThis podcast is refreshing and one of my new favorites. They don’t go deep into the numbers or mechanics of FI. I enjoy the discussions of life after FI. And yes, I even like the perverted sidebars. Doug is a super nice guy who I had the opportunity to meet at EconoMe. Hope to run into Carl someday too. Keep up the great work!
-
Corgi in SpaceOne of my favorite podcastsI feel like this is different from other FIRE podcasts because it doesn’t focus on the mechanics of FI (which have been covered many times in other places), but on Doug and Carl’s personal reflections on FI and post-FI. It feels like a bunch of friends sitting around and chatting. Doug and Carl seem down to earth and chill, and their banter and jokes entertain me. I’m also enjoying Carl‘s new podcast with his wife (Mindy on Money) which I feel like has a similar tone.

sc from bBros that talk but don’t say muchI have listened to several FI podcasts for several years now. This one is not worth your time. 20 minutes into a QnA episode and not 1 discussed. Plus the repeated use of foul language is offensive and unnecessary. So I recommend not spending your time on this one. There are many other more valuable FI casts out there.
-
marymack64Great podcast about FI and lifeLove it. Hosts clearly have a great connection. They have meaningful conversations and bring on quality guests. Sorry.. but no one cares about your kids in the car, keep the casual banter and nsfw jokes.
-
JP ShanksLove itBeen listening for several years now! Always look forward to each episode and guests that come on the show. Hopefully all the advice helps when I retire and hit my FI number. Cheers Joel

Biz of DigitalMiddle-aged adolescents dropping serious knowledgeI can’t remember the last time a podcast made me laugh out loud. These guys do it often. Yes, I’m a guy. Yes, I’m prone to adolescent humor as well, so I’m biased. I followed Doug over from the Doug show having been introduced on Niche Pursuits. I know I’d heard of FIRE, but feel like I really understand it now. The variety of guests and their stories makes it easy to envision how you might speed your path to, and entertain yourself in retirement. I’m looking forward to swinging by Longmont next time I’m in CO.

Chino BillPretends they’re “candid” by swearing a lotWarning : not safe to listen to with kids in the car. Had a lot of potential, but I don’t understand why they needlessly swear all the time. What are they trying to gain from it? It seems they are aiming for a niche segment, which just ain’t for me. Unsubscribe.

DianaN55Too much vulgar language/immaturityI listen during times I’m in the car running errands and sometimes I’m with kids and there’s so much vulgar language I had to shut it off. I’m sure there’s some great content here but there’s also lots of other FI podcasts to choose from with respectable language. Unfortunately, this isn’t fit for us.

$$(7;?&),!!(:7(;Great show!Highly recommend- I pretty much only listen to financial podcasts on my commute to and from work. This is such an easy show to listen to and it’s refreshing compared to some of the other shows I listen too! Happy to have it in my weekly lineup of podcasts! Not sure why some of the reviews are so harsh. I enjoy the humor!
-
Jolynne SmythInteresting - introsInteresting and engaging content - would be helpful to get info at the outset how many minutes into the cast the substantive content starts and the "casual intro banter" winds down....
-
Jane1980727Love this podcast!Really love Doug and Carls energy and banter. They make financial topics fun and love listening to their podcast! Keep up the great work guys!
-
CrisG1New to the podcastI can’t believe I just found your podcast today. I appreciate the candid and straight forward discussions. That’s my kind of content!
-
jay_east_baySlow, bad language for no reasonJust as the title says. Episodes are so slow and cover very little content compared to most FIRE podcasts. Lots of bad language including F word for no reason!
-
Mungo BeanGood chat, better infoCarl and Doug perfectly thread the line of entertainment and information. Highly recommended for anyone in the FIRE sphere, whether you’re already retired or just looking to dip your toes in the water.

Procrastin8L8rBEST FI PODCASTHaving listened to many of the usual FI podcasts, I look forward to Mile High FI the most. The banter is fun to listen to and their sense of humor is pretty close my own. Carl and Doug get a wide range of guests from within the FI community as well as others with great stories related to FI or lifestyle. Thank you Carl and Doug for the great podcast.
-
Jon Who66Interesting contentI discovered this podcast through the Mr. 1500 website. Carl and Doug have a great natural rapport! Very interesting content and their guests are always fantastic.
-
chiliwackerATBGEFinally, a FIRE podcast by rich tech bros.

Avid Lister 1.618Maybe get a clue on the fund raising complaintI understand Lost Interest’s complaint. If you guys are really FI and just doing this for fun, hitting your guests up for money makes you sound hypocritical. Podcasts like this just don’t cost much to produce these days so it can’t be out of actual need. But it does raise an interesting topic for discussion in that why do so many FI people fixate on monetizing everything in their lives when they don’t need the money anymore. Can’t we just create stuff and throw it out there for fun? It’s certainly not about the money, so what’s it actually about? Fame? Clicks? Downloads? See Parable of the Mexican Fisherman and the concept of enough. Discuss amongst yourselves.

Frances EliotLove the podcast!Love the podcast! I’ve been listening for a few years and it’s great, I even decided to donate to the Buy Me a Coffee so that they can keep the show ad free 🤞🏼The podcast is humorous and informative, like sitting around with friends and chatting.
-
tpfromLove the podcastIf you follow the FI movement or are even somewhat interested in this topic, I think you will enjoy this podcast. It’s casual and fun but also packed with thoughtful information on a variety of topics - financial independence, health, happiness, travel and more. Keep up the great work!
-
BribBribLost InterestJust tired of being asked to financially support the podcast.
-
74JimmyVery entertaining podcastThis is one of my favorite podcasts to listen to. Doug and Carl work really well together and always keep it interesting. You never know where the conversation will go, from asparagus and mesh tank tops, to financial strategies and mindset. I really enjoy that they don’t hold back and sensor their language, it feels more like a conversation with close friends where you don’t have to hold back and watch what you say. Thank you and keep up the good work you guys
-
Nitro HikerGreat Show down to earth guysI have become a big fan of Carl and Doug. They seem to resonate with me personally. I will look forward to meeting them in person someday. Their content is relevant and advice is thorough and well thought out. I highly recommend these guys. Their sense of humor is pretty good also!
-
Gray Wolf 3Great "Post FI" ContentI'm a big fan of this show and have enjoyed listening to every episode from the beginning. The shows are a mix of light-hearted conversation and more serious discussion. I like the variety. You get to learn the hosts personalities and thoughts on a wide range of subjects, not just the typical "Financial Independence" content covered in many other podcasts. There are not many podcasts that cover subjects of interest to "Post FI" listeners, so if you are one then you will get a lot of benefit from this podcast!
-
Rb1978rbEntertaining and fun banter w/educational contentReally enjoy listening to Doug and Carl on the mile hi podcast. Wish more shows can be this entertaining and light spirited. Yes - it’s a FI show, but the topics are always(ish) thought out, clear and fun to listen to. It’s the first podcast I listen to when shows drop 2x week. Keep up the good work guys. - Rich B
-
Crystal ONealI’m a fan! This is one of my favorite podcasts and to be honest I’m not sure why. I have nothing in common with the hosts (other than being financially minded) but I enjoy their banter, Doug’s sense of humor, and how much Carl loves his family. I feel like you never hear men talking up their wife and kids these days. Recommend!
-
MslorelleNew favorite FII have followed a variety of FI podcasts in the past. This is my new favorite. They have lots of great tips and I like the banter between the two hosts.
-
K2TFSeems shallow at timesThey seem to be a nice bunch of guys. The swearing and especially the F bomb is unnecessary and makes podcast seem shallow. I wish I could give them a better review.
-
M-2020Great Info for People further into Full Life!I really love this podcast for Adults further into the Full Lifestyle of Financial Independence.
-
thullivReal Talks from Average People on their Financial Independence JourneyI love hearing the real talk of Financial Independence that you might not hear from other podcasts.
-
Russnc93Not family friendlyStarted listening and heard the f bomb twice in 5 minutes. Had to turn it off. There is no explicit warning on the episodes so very disappointed in this.
-
ASoberingTruly Valuable 💸This podcast is so insightful and I’ve enjoyed every episode I’ve listened to so far! Carl and Doug do such a great job of sharing their wisdom and I love how they also lead meaningful conversations with FI leaders who bring so much experience and actionable insight to the table, having already experienced success themselves. Highly recommend checking this show out - you won’t be disappointed!
-
GuerbersDoug and Carl are Super AuthenticI enjoy listening to these two and their guests. There conversations are authentic. Never super technical, but happy to hear about their FIRE experience. Ready to follow them to CampFI to make them my new best friends!
-
Lorenzo-$$44Thank youNick’s podcast gave me a side hustle idea. Several years later it became full time passive income and then the business was sold. Thanks Nick!
-
MatthewPEWant to like itI really want to like this podcast. However, the unnecessary swearing is very annoying. Trying to be a clone of Money Mustache isn’t a good look.
-
CcharlieBucketJust guys being dudesLove the laid back, natural style of this FI podcast. Just 2 guys hanging out in a basement having good convos and laughing along the way. A weekly go to.
-
Noname34215Funny, Candid and InformationalThis podcast is just like sitting next to Carl and Doug in the backyard having a conversation. The topics are wide ranging from what car they drive to deeper topics like happiness. It’s always interesting to hear their perspectives, and once you learn their humor, it can be pretty funny. And yes, the mesh tank top episode was pretty hilarious!!
-
elisabethINEnjoyable, Relatable, and InformativeI love this podcast for its easygoing vibe, amusing banter, and well-informed insights. It’s rare to find hosts as down-to-earth as Doug and Carl, who are as thoughtful as they are entertaining.
