When I was 7 I cussed like that just for the shock value. I know your show is rated explicit, but your immature fowl mouths detract from what could be a good podcast. People with low I.Q.s cuss like that to hide their ignorance. I actually think you guys are smarter than that, now I’ll never know because I’m unsubscribing. I can’t wait for you to grow up, or get smarter.

Decent podcast - was hoping for more. Amberly spent to much input around Canadian taxes for a pro and fines etc. I was hoping for more on why or why not to have an advisor. What questions to ask, how to evaluate etc. I still came away with some good thoughts and will continue to listen. Thanks

I’ve enjoyed the guests and conversations about life after FI. People who complain about swearing need to pay attention to the E that warns you. Just because it’s not for you because of language doesn’t warrant a bad review or low stars, the content is good. Who makes their kids listen to financial podcasts in the car? 😂

I’m a big Mr. 1500 days blog fan. As one of the original Fire bloggers that I found I’m so happy I can continue to listen to his life now in podcast form since he doesn’t blog as much since retiring. I’m thankful for everything he’s done for the community and will continue to support him!

This podcast is refreshing and one of my new favorites. They don’t go deep into the numbers or mechanics of FI. I enjoy the discussions of life after FI. And yes, I even like the perverted sidebars. Doug is a super nice guy who I had the opportunity to meet at EconoMe. Hope to run into Carl someday too. Keep up the great work!

I feel like this is different from other FIRE podcasts because it doesn’t focus on the mechanics of FI (which have been covered many times in other places), but on Doug and Carl’s personal reflections on FI and post-FI. It feels like a bunch of friends sitting around and chatting. Doug and Carl seem down to earth and chill, and their banter and jokes entertain me. I’m also enjoying Carl‘s new podcast with his wife (Mindy on Money) which I feel like has a similar tone.

I have listened to several FI podcasts for several years now. This one is not worth your time. 20 minutes into a QnA episode and not 1 discussed. Plus the repeated use of foul language is offensive and unnecessary. So I recommend not spending your time on this one. There are many other more valuable FI casts out there.

Love it. Hosts clearly have a great connection. They have meaningful conversations and bring on quality guests. Sorry.. but no one cares about your kids in the car, keep the casual banter and nsfw jokes.

I can’t remember the last time a podcast made me laugh out loud. These guys do it often. Yes, I’m a guy. Yes, I’m prone to adolescent humor as well, so I’m biased. I followed Doug over from the Doug show having been introduced on Niche Pursuits. I know I’d heard of FIRE, but feel like I really understand it now. The variety of guests and their stories makes it easy to envision how you might speed your path to, and entertain yourself in retirement. I’m looking forward to swinging by Longmont next time I’m in CO.

Warning : not safe to listen to with kids in the car. Had a lot of potential, but I don’t understand why they needlessly swear all the time. What are they trying to gain from it? It seems they are aiming for a niche segment, which just ain’t for me. Unsubscribe.

I listen during times I’m in the car running errands and sometimes I’m with kids and there’s so much vulgar language I had to shut it off. I’m sure there’s some great content here but there’s also lots of other FI podcasts to choose from with respectable language. Unfortunately, this isn’t fit for us.

Highly recommend- I pretty much only listen to financial podcasts on my commute to and from work. This is such an easy show to listen to and it’s refreshing compared to some of the other shows I listen too! Happy to have it in my weekly lineup of podcasts! Not sure why some of the reviews are so harsh. I enjoy the humor!

Interesting and engaging content - would be helpful to get info at the outset how many minutes into the cast the substantive content starts and the "casual intro banter" winds down....

Just as the title says. Episodes are so slow and cover very little content compared to most FIRE podcasts. Lots of bad language including F word for no reason!

Carl and Doug perfectly thread the line of entertainment and information. Highly recommended for anyone in the FIRE sphere, whether you’re already retired or just looking to dip your toes in the water.

Having listened to many of the usual FI podcasts, I look forward to Mile High FI the most. The banter is fun to listen to and their sense of humor is pretty close my own. Carl and Doug get a wide range of guests from within the FI community as well as others with great stories related to FI or lifestyle. Thank you Carl and Doug for the great podcast.

I understand Lost Interest’s complaint. If you guys are really FI and just doing this for fun, hitting your guests up for money makes you sound hypocritical. Podcasts like this just don’t cost much to produce these days so it can’t be out of actual need. But it does raise an interesting topic for discussion in that why do so many FI people fixate on monetizing everything in their lives when they don’t need the money anymore. Can’t we just create stuff and throw it out there for fun? It’s certainly not about the money, so what’s it actually about? Fame? Clicks? Downloads? See Parable of the Mexican Fisherman and the concept of enough. Discuss amongst yourselves.

This is one of my favorite podcasts to listen to. Doug and Carl work really well together and always keep it interesting. You never know where the conversation will go, from asparagus and mesh tank tops, to financial strategies and mindset. I really enjoy that they don’t hold back and sensor their language, it feels more like a conversation with close friends where you don’t have to hold back and watch what you say. I have become a big fan of Carl and Doug. They seem to resonate with me personally. I will look forward to meeting them in person someday. Their content is relevant and advice is thorough and well thought out. I highly recommend these guys. Their sense of humor is pretty good also!

I'm a big fan of this show and have enjoyed listening to every episode from the beginning. The shows are a mix of light-hearted conversation and more serious discussion. I like the variety. You get to learn the hosts personalities and thoughts on a wide range of subjects, not just the typical "Financial Independence" content covered in many other podcasts. There are not many podcasts that cover subjects of interest to "Post FI" listeners, so if you are one then you will get a lot of benefit from this podcast!

Really enjoy listening to Doug and Carl on the mile hi podcast. Wish more shows can be this entertaining and light spirited. Yes - it’s a FI show, but the topics are always(ish) thought out, clear and fun to listen to. It’s the first podcast I listen to when shows drop 2x week. Keep up the good work guys. - Rich B

This is one of my favorite podcasts and to be honest I’m not sure why. I have nothing in common with the hosts (other than being financially minded) but I enjoy their banter, Doug’s sense of humor, and how much Carl loves his family. I feel like you never hear men talking up their wife and kids these days. Recommend!

I have followed a variety of FI podcasts in the past. This is my new favorite. They have lots of great tips and I like the banter between the two hosts.

They seem to be a nice bunch of guys. The swearing and especially the F bomb is unnecessary and makes podcast seem shallow. I wish I could give them a better review.

Carl and Doug do such a great job of sharing their wisdom and I love how they also lead meaningful conversations with FI leaders who bring so much experience and actionable insight to the table, having already experienced success themselves. This podcast is just like sitting next to Carl and Doug in the backyard having a conversation. The topics are wide ranging from what car they drive to deeper topics like happiness. It’s always interesting to hear their perspectives, and once you learn their humor, it can be pretty funny. And yes, the mesh tank top episode was pretty hilarious!!
