    Incredible
Recently discovered. My dad was a ranger and passed recently. This show helps keep his memory alive.

    Met Frank Pulley
I met Frank while he was consuming an ice cream cone, and I noticed his Vietnam hat. He and I started talking and even though I was not born when he was in, I apologize on behalf of America for the un-warm welcome home these soldiers got. Really cool to befriend this gentleman and even cooler to dig deeper into his past a true legend.

10 out of 10 for John Stryker Meyer!
If you want to hear the real dirt about the storied "studies and observations group" and their role in the secret war. Treat yourself the episodes 027 & 028. The legendary "One Zero" Lynn M. Black Jr. interviews are the stuff of nightmares. The "cadaver garrison" part will blow your mind-Download it because you will absolutely have to revisit this portion. Airborne!

    Absolute Legend and Great Show
Since Jocko podcast, I have been enthralled with learning and reading every single book or podcast I can get my hands on that gives me a first person accounting of the insane missions you all ran. *One note: If at all possible, I know some may not want to here, but getting more on ground detail of exact movements to contact, what was seen, heard, and summarizing these legends missions in these podcasts would be great.

    Therapeutic
I love this show. It helps me digest my own experiences and look back with a sense of humor. I hope they make this into a documentary or series someday. What a solid group of men from the ground the air pilots.

    Lame
This podcast is remarkable and entertaining. Don’t be so sensitive about the language. That’s what makes it real and if it bothers you, then don’t listen to it.

Great Heroes — But Please Stop the Foul Languge
Excellent brave warriors, true patriots! Would be such a more enjoyable listen without the swearing. Thanks

One of the best chronicles from real Vietnam Operators
Great show, great history and never boring. These are some of the best, inspiring people in the world and their lessons apply to everyone. Please, if any producers read this, stop panning speaker / guest audio hard left and right. Sometimes the guys speak softly or back off the mic and It makes listening really hard unless the environment is very quiet. Please improve this aspect and keep the interviews coming. Thank you veterans.

Great stories but riddled with bigotry misinformation.
Great stories, but a lot of misinformation. MLK was sympathetic to aspects of communist ideals, but explicitly stated that the atheist aspects of communism were not compatible with Christianity. Just because there are photos of a person at a place doesn’t tell the full story, but the host frequently drops his insidious racist and bigoted insults with various comments such the “China Virus.” This podcast has many great stories but is spoiled by occasional white Christian Nationalist propaganda talking points. Just because you have some friends of other races doesn’t mean you can’t be a bigoted racist who feels the ends justify the means. The host and guest, Hanson, even bragged how they executed/murdered a mole and prevented them from getting a fair trial in the US. It doesn’t matter that the person was guilty. American democratic values that these guys claim to worship and protect doesn’t mean you get to ignore legal procedure when inconvenient or above the law. I get SF guys are rule breakers, but you don’t get to claim you are defending democracy or freedom when you’re breaking laws that are inconvenient. So many of your so-called facts about history are objectively and demonstrably wrong, sir. The biggest enemy of democracy is a lack of institutional trust. Some of this is for good reason, some is due to the apathy and complacency of the electorate, and most is related because of the willful ignorance and credulity of an ignorant electorate who is very lacking in critical thinking skills. These skills are not innate and must be learned. Motivated reasoning and bias confirmation are very good and making a person think they know more than they actually do because they read or heard a thing that validates the thing they want to believe because it informs their identity. Both political parties are plagued with willful ignorance, but the GOP is plagued with to a degree that is much more insidious and severe. The hypocrisy of the values that this party claims to represent and the reality is vastly different. Get out of your information bubble and attempt to destroy what you think is true. The truth isn’t afraid of rigorous scrutiny. If it is true, it will remain so. But so many of the talking points of this podcast of out right bigoted and racist. And just to be clear, I’m not a far-left liberal Tankie or commie lover. I’m a concerned citizen that is watching the fabric of democracy be undermined and unravel due to willful ignorance and misinformation being spread by those that scream the loudest about how much they love freedom and democracy.

    Latest podcast
I am a faithful listener to your show. Was drafted in 1970 but wasn’t cut out for SF. I wanted to offer an observation on the last podcast. It sounded like the guest was eating during the recording of the interview. Have to say it was off putting and distracting. I appreciate your deference to your guests but remember you also have an audience. Keep up the good work.

    COL (Dr.) Warner (Rocky) Farr
I would really appreciate an interview with COL Farr. I seem to remember he served with SOG. He is teaching at LECOM in Bradenburg, Florida. I think his career spanned 40+ years.

    My favorite podcast
This is MY FAVORITE PODCAST! Thank you Jacko and Tilt for making it possible! It’s been way too long since we had a new one. When will we get to hear another interview? Also, I do not have a military background so I sometimes get lost on the lingo. Could you explain the acronyms and slang as you say them to help educate your non-military listeners? And post more interviews, I can’t get enough of them! Thank you!

    Mostly great
Excellent retellings of famous SOG stories we have all read in the well known books about the secret war. Audio quality and production levels aren’t great, I wish Jocko would assist with a little more polish and technical assistance to be on par with his main show. Aside from the good stories, there are a good smattering of cringey “Ok Boomer” moments thrown in; “I’m not lying, who do you think I am, JoE BiDeN?”. Which is a shame to hear these out of touch Fox News talking points as modern republicans do more to hurt and not support aging veterans than anyone else.

I saw a lot of the world and flew combat missions in Grenada,Panama, Desert storm and in Bosnia. I never saw anything like the what’s discussed on this show. True hero’s fighting a secret war that supported our nation in ways that cannot accurately be measured. Thank you for sharing these stories. They need to be told by the hero’s that experienced them and they need to be heard by all of us. Great show, keep them coming. Thank you ! Rodger in GA

    Every episode is jaw dropping
Outstanding podcast. A must listen for people interested in military history, especially the Vietnam War. Most of these veterans were 19 to early 20s when they ran this missions “over the fence”. Truly humbling.
  • biglucas22
    Great podcast keep it up
I just have one suggestion, be more patient with your guest and give them time to respond to answer etc. They’ve earned it to be slow and studder etc so try not to talk over them or answer for them and let them talk. Example: Oscar 8 podcast
  • gsp38301

Real superhero’s don’t wear capes they wear Swiss seats!!!
I’ve been following Tilt sense joko introduced him to the world. After hearing these amazing stories from these war fighters I can’t believe there was anyone left to tell the world what they did in a top secret war across the fence in Laos and Cambodia during the Viet Nam war. God bless these men.

I Was Unable to Live Up to This Prior Generation
I thank God, to this day that I was never required to. The men of this generation preceded mine by 15 years or so. They were my senior NCO’s, Commanders, and Lord help us… Our Command Sergeant Majors. In my eyes and experience… I could never admit that I complimented their service. I sincerely hope that their handshakes and silent, nods of approval were a sincere welcoming. I would tell them today that they shaped the best of each one of my days since!
  • agronerd
