Good show, but I so miss the Energy Gang!
I started my career in clean energy in 2017 and LOVED the Energy Gang! Stephen, Katherine, and Jigar’s analysis on a weekly basis of the latest news stories and trends in the energy sector were not only insightful and informative, but also helped me stay abreast of key energy topics beyond my fairly specific scope at work. The last episode that brought the gang back together further reminded me how much I miss it. All to say I and I’m sure many others would be delighted to have that show or something very similar back on the air (the replacement from wood mac falls so flat).

The Carbon Copy: Clear and Compelling Climate Reporting
"The Carbon Copy" is a standout podcast that offers clear, concise, and compelling reporting on the most pressing issues related to climate change and clean energy. Hosted by Stephen Lacey, this podcast provides listeners with a deep dive into the critical stories shaping our climate future. Each episode is expertly crafted to inform, engage, and inspire, making "The Carbon Copy" a must-listen for anyone concerned about the environment.

    biased against nuclear power
I believe this podcast always has a bias against nuclear power and portrays solar or wind as the best alternatives for fossil free energy. I don’t believe that is fair without an extensive and deep analysis that should not be done in a space of 40 minutes. Just from a perspective of capacity factor, energy density of the fuel, space requirements, nuclear is one of the best if not the best source of energy. Just because it is hard to build does not mean it should not be done. I would encourage listeners to listen to other podcasts like titans of nuclear or fire2fission or decouple, to have different perspectives, not just take the renewables cargo culture or just the nuclear for everything.

A weapon in the fight against climate disinformation
Excellent podcast providing invaluable info in the fight against vested interests and the climate disinformation war. Thank you for introducing me to the term “fossil gas” and may we consign all “fossils” to history, where they belong!

    Cooking with Gasp
“Cooking with gasp cooking with gasp. We’re polluting our kitchen when we’re cooking with gasp.”

    Level up
I learn something new very time I listen. Its breadth of topics and guests is fantastic, and the depth of insight and reflections from Steven and company leave me thinking about the conversations throughout the day. Keep up the great work!

One of the best Renewable Energy podcasts
Stephen Lacey is an excellent journalist who educates listeners on all things renewable energy. Each episode is well researched and delivered in a clear, easy to understand manner. As the host of the original Energy Gang, I cannot recommend this podcast enough.

    Insightful Journalism, Great Guests
The Carbon Copy stays at the top of my playlist, thanks to Stephen Lacey’s long experience in the energy transition space, the extraordinary quality of his guests, and his ability to enage them in a manner that’s both rigorous and playful.

Jigar Shah and Katherine Hamilton are Climate Crisis Fighting Heros!
Please make Jigar Shah and Katherine Hamilton regulars again. Bring back the old “Energy Gang” even though “The Energy Gang” name was lost - the planet needs the Jigar Shah and Katherine Hamilton back on a regular podcast. The Jigar Shah and Katherine Hamilton version of the old “Energy Gang” was the best climate crisis podcast period.

    High quality production and reporting
I used to listen to the Energy Gang when Stephen was the co-host and I’m thrilled that he and his team are still doing great reporting on the energy transition. Impressed by how well produce and interesting the episodes are. Thanks for the great work!

  • Unlikable characters

I love Carbon Copy, though I do miss the old Energy Gang
Carbon Copy is a great source of information on the state of play in the energy transition. I appreciate the range of guests and topics that Steven Lacey brings to the podcast. I also love it when Jigar Shah and Katherine Hamilton make appearances! Steven is a talented interviewer with the technical chops to ask great questions.

    The clicking is terrible
The dumbest audio flourish added to any podcast in the history of podcasts.

    Indispensably Informative
The most important energy and climate topics covered thoroughly but concisely. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that Goldilocks balance that Stephen finds here. There are pods that are fascinating but rambling conversations, sometimes you’re in the mood for that, but sometimes you just want The Carbon Copy.

    Called the Ice Age
I thought it was called the Ice Age, no global warming ,no climate change! I don’t know why it’s called this year!! 20-30 years ago they say the planet would be destroyed ,bunch of left-wing wackos!!! Let’s go Brandon!!!

    A Clean Tech must
Here's a fantastic podcast that never fails to deliver well researched reporting on the most exciting areas of clean tech. There are so many stories on significant advancements in renewables, new ways financial markets are shifting away from fossil fuels to interviews with key policymakers who are shaping legislation. It's wonky and filled with details that give me hope that we'll make our goals as we fight for a world with a livable climate.

    Insightful and measured
I started listening after discovering The Energy Gang earlier this year. Stephen Lacey is killing it! His deadpan sense of humor and even-handed takes are everything a solid reporter should be. Good information and presentation of some very nuanced science and other climate issues.

    Accessible and essential climate news
Loving this new style of show. I was worried when The Energy Gang shifted, then this show was released and all those fears went to the wayside. The focus on specific topics in a short, digestible timeframe is a great way to discuss climate problems and their solutions. Highly recommend this show wether you are a climate enthusiasts or an energy expert!

    A must-listen for energy folks
Stephen Lacey is back! The Energy Gang isn’t the same without the Gang. But The Carbon Copy might even be better. I like the shorter format, and it’s a really well researched and polished show.

Appointment listening for clean energy professionals and hobbyists
The show is the legacy podcast of the celebrated Energy Gang with show host Stephen Lacey, a longtime reporter and (I believe) part owner at GreenTech Media. The show dives into subjects in the clean economy and engages with reporters at Canary Media, which is GTM castaways that created a new news company that is terrific. If you’re looking for a show to help you understand macro and micro energy issues in the clean tech space, subscribe.

    Fossil gas
I love that term - - call it what it is! It is definer not "natural" gas - - and the fact that Steven Lacey found an independent voice to truly reflect on a measured perspective on environmental challenges. Thank you and look forward to listening to many of these shows along with the "Catalyst". Request: please interview Jigar Shah to explore what DOE is doing in renewables with his lending program.

Great deep dives into climate issues!
I was sad when the Energy Gang shifted hosts but was so excited when I learned about this new podcast from Stephen Lacey! I loved the first episode on how the Glasgow deal at COP26 almost fell apart and look forward to all the upcoming episodes. And, having learned about this podcast, I’ve also now become a daily reader of Canary Media!

    Really good climate/energy podcast
Makes climate solution news accessible to all. Stephen Lacey cements his place in the energy podcast firmament with this one (and The Energy Gang, The Interchange and other podcasts).

    The Energy Gang Lives On!
So glad the team can live on in new form! Even before Episode 1; undoubtedly the go-to source for climate and energy policy thought leadership!

    Can’t wait for episode 1
Just listened to the trailer and can’t wait for episode 1! Stephen is the former host of the Energy Gang and is an excellent storyteller. And the topic is an important one.
