FilmengDreckThe worst dreck ever, a gabfest of two women overreacting and being hysterical. Seems like no research was done before creating this show. The two leads are so emotional that they would never pass the psych evals of any corporation, government agency, or other organization spending $$$ on manned space flight. I’ve interviewed astronauts, and the one fundamental characteristic they all have is the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems with remarkable resourcefulness, calmness and detachment. These females with their unending stream of f-bombs are the opposite of that, uneducated and unsophisticated in their thinking. The actresses come off as nothing more than two college girls sitting around in their dorm pretending to be in space. No research into the roles they play, no effort made to create realistic and believable characters of depth. And the character of T (or Tee or whatever)—epic miscasting. Absolutely horrible. I wanted to hear the mystery solved, but this show is so bad that I couldn’t make it past ep 3.

CreulosGreat story but one grinding issueAs stated the story is well written and incredibly enjoyable. My only real issue I can think of is having to hear the exact same adds multiple times through an episode and it just drives me further away from interacting with those sponsors. Adds are important for revenue but really? Do we have to hear the housewives lady three times before the show ends?

StevenH377DisappointedPlease buy the writer a dictionary so they know more than simple words and the f~word. This show had potential but the characters were too irrational and dense.

TBG8594PotentialSci fi and space stories - I'm in! But before you put me a crisis scene -known only by the number of F-bombs & hysteria in the first minutes of epi 1 - the story and the characters need to be interesting. Woke - ok, understood - but no matter who's in space, I'd like to know more about the intelligence, knowledge, and skill that got them out there in the first place. 1 star for sci fi, 2 for great AI, 3 for female leads (I'd take half off for how they were presented).

Turtleboy84Same old woke garbage1 star for being woke garbage. All too familiar strong woman hackneyed story. An extra star for being a sci-fi podcast.

Red277777Not quite on targetFirst off, I appreciate their effort in making an audio drama and the audio production is generally very well done. But the script itself is weak - the characters seem absurdly psychotic, even before any major events happen, and the continuous use of the F-Bomb for no obvious reason is grating. I can’t see why the two main human characters in the story would have been selected for a space mission of this magnitude when they are both clearly emotionally unstable and professionally incompetent. The over use of tropes is also annoying, including the back stories of the two main human characters. The story arc has potential, but it’s simultaneously under-explained and also drags at the same time. So, I do appreciate the effort, and this did give me something to listen to, but overall it just doesn’t quite work very well.

Travis siegelCould have been way betterEntirely too many f this and f that phrases. Great potential, but terrible execution. And just for reference, the ending stunk.
-
Ted BendyFunI enjoyed it. I think the last two episodes could have one episode. Or like more meat? anyway overall liked the concept and all the acting was good, music good.

KayaklandThere was potential. It started out pretty good but couldn’t keep up. It gets frustrating listening to the constant barrage of F-bombs. I wish I could go into the story and put in a swear jar. I’d be rich after an episode or two. Swearing has a time and place, it’s not meant to be the most used word in a podcast. Oh, and there are almost as many commercials and F-bombs. Also, the two main characters would have never passed the psych test to be assigned to a mission like this, let alone are qualified for a multi-year high-stress mission. Disregards to safety protocols, poor decision making, non-existent conflict resolution skills, inability to process significant emotional events….. the list goes on. I do like the personality of the AI. He seems to be the most human (the most competent human) of them all.
-
ICUdoc1MehDull, repetitive plot that was completely predictable in virtually every way to anyone who has watched mainstream sci-fi. Numerous scientific inaccuracies (don’t worry, we’re a few km from the black hole) and logical breaks (we need to get as far away as we can, so let’s land on the mysterious planet). Dialogue consists in large part of variations of the “f word” among the 2 psychologically unfit astronauts. After a point just kept listening to see if it got any better. Save yourself time - it doesn’t.

RybratorResearch is your friend.Sure, it’s ad heavy and the voice acting is mediocre, but what do you expect from a free podcast? But, wow, the math is so bad. Seriously, Google things before you put them in the script.
-
thelistener4031Decent.One of the antagonists in this podcast is too similar to the monster in another podcast called “down” by definitely human podcast. This particular antagonist is almost unnecessary and makes the plot very complicated. Not enough explanation in this podcast for such a complex story.

The real RichieGreat story and well actedVery engaging story, suspense ramped up constantly!
-
JdjdidjdjdjdI dig itThe actors are good, the story is good…there is enough suspense that made me listen to all the available episodes in one afternoon. I didn’t want to turn it off. I really hope there is a 2nd season. People complaining about the cussing are so weird. Big deal…people cuss! Especially in stressful situations. I don’t get offended over dumb things. The story is the part that matters.
-
ElleHelleSnowflakes Be GoneGreat story. Very tense in the best way. A bit predictable at times, but great acting and a genre I love. Many reviewers seem upset by profanity, but this is literally the way my coworkers and I talk. Smart people with degrees say **** too. They’re just words. Actually makes it more relatable. Easier to settle into since they talk like actual human beings working in high-stress situations
-
ShileauxStory ok, ads every few minutes, v. swearyBetween the 3 ad breaks in an under 30 minute podcast and the constant swearing, I only made it through 3 episodes. Definitely un-bingeable. It seems to have been written / performed by talented people, but it was actively unpleasant to listen to.

MiKrummReally enjoyed this sci-fi horror podcast.Without spoiling it this podcast is a great horror story set in space near a dead star and planet. A slightly lovecraftian meets speculative quantum physics. Really good space horror tale. It’s only 10 episodes long and so it’s easy to binge or knock out over a weeks commute. The voice acting was great in my opinion. Jeff did not disappoint. It’s centered around two women and an AI and their ship. His other great podcast is “ Return Home” which is a sort of bizarre horror comedy that spans several seasons.
-
Music of the HourIntriguing premise undone by subpar dialogueJana’s use of profanity went far behind characterization…it was a straight up distraction. I started to feel like it was there to paper over cracks in the narrative…which is a shame. A little more restraint in this regard would’ve complimented an otherwise interesting story.

Mr. BGIVEHCOFHorribly writtenI made it 5:26 into the first episode before saying “Nope.” Written either by junior high students or recent college grads of the same maturity level. Who approved this?
-
nckfWasted PotentialI had high hopes for this but the amount of swearing and sheer number of f-bombs was so distracting. It completely detracted from the story and believability of the characters. The occasional curse can be a valuable tool, but this is just ridiculous. How are we supposed to believe that these are some of the best and brightest trusted with the responsibility of some of the most advanced machinery on the planet when they talk like 7th grade boys? Good premise, but grow up and try again.
-
FinalSpaceOkay storyline, use of obscenities ridiculous. No prude reviewing here. But every other word spoken by one character is an f-bomb. Profane language can be a literary tool to reveal a character’s nature or state of mind. Not here. The overuse detracts from the story, makes the character unlikeable and gives the entire production a juvenile feel.

ABW1914Contains adult languageThis podcast contains adult language
-
GianfrancsMehIt’s an entertaining enough story to kill a few days of streaming but the writer’s predilection for curse words seriously detracts from the story. I’m no stranger to peppering my own language but there is an obscene amount of swearing for two educated individuals in space.
-
cc sliderLove the sci-fi elementReally liked the story. It’s gets a bit stuck in episodes 7 and 8, but I’m intrigued how it’s going to resolve.
-
Me x 7Amateurish StoryThe more I listen the fewer stars this would get, going to stop mid episode 4. Predictable story, cringe acting lots of swearing and yelling. I get podcasts won’t be scientifically accurate but at least put in some effort. Episode one had them being potentially sucked into a black hole while being so worried they had time to shower and make a snack, but that did the trick…I guess. Decent sound but not much more to positively say about this one.
-
klz252010Good showLove the show, it’s a great story… my only hang up is Katelynn’s voice. It’s supposed to be a little girl, but it’s voiced by an adult. I can’t get over that!
-
DwytewillemsVery niceThis is a great story and I like the concept
-
BabshagegDecentAn updated, modern version of “Call of Cthulhu” or similar H.P. Lovecraft works of fiction. Overall production, sound design, and story is great. Dialogue is a bit lacking and story feels repetitive at times but worth a listen.

Gabor the Blind GuyHot mess!I really wanted to like this podcast, and at first I did, but now it’s getting to the point where my finger is slowly edging towards the “Unfollow” button. This podcast kind of reminds me of the show “Lost“ where every episode ends on a cliffhanger, but then in the next episode nothing is really resolved and nothing really happens. There are a lot of unanswered questions in this story, and they are taking way too long to answer these questions. You can only hold your audience’s attention for so long before they get bored and move on to something else. We don’t want every episode to end in a cliffhanger, we want loose ends to finally start getting resolved instead of being dragged along for another 10 episode arc. The acting in this podcast is good. The guy playing the ship’s artificial intelligence is great, but I sometimes feel the two actresses playing the leads are way too over the top with their overacting. Plus let’s not even get me started about the obvious adult actress playing the little girl in the podcast… That was pretty cringe worthy. You’re telling me you couldn’t find an actual little girl to play that part and had to cast an adult to play that character? I will give this podcast 1-2 more episodes, but if nothing happens then I will probably be leaving.
-
Burtoe86Good podcastI had a great time listening to it will about episode 5, then ended up turning into 2 woman just yelling and constantly arguing with eachother and the AI on the ship. I had to turn it off at that point. Well made podcast tho.
-
WRMarcusLike the conceptGood show, good sound, actors, and direction. May have to stop listening though if I have to suffer through any more Hillary Clinton commercials.
-
Gimmy_The_GreatStarted off okGood story in the beginning. Losing me a bit with the last couple. Trying to pass an obvious adult actress off as a little girl in Ep 8 was really cringe worthy.
-
Wootsy1Not that good…This podcast has a decent storyline but the use of excessive profanity is ridiculous. It smacks of paucity of good writing skills, hoping to fill gaps with one F-bomb after another and actually detracts from the story.
-
OPJelloQueenGood but they’re losing me…So it’s a good story and the characters had been fun for “hey we’re being personal as we passively travel through space” but once things picked up… I don’t think either of them have been through any sort of training and it’s getting almost irritating. I think it was just one particular part where a protagonist is trying to curse out an infection snapped me out of it and now everything bugs me. Also, the AI is actually entertaining. Just gonna throw that in there.

SuperHappy Trivia ChallengeSolid piece of entertainmentNice sound design. Could quibble with some technical aspects of relative distances, but its science fiction, so what you. One critique, the voice actors, particularly the two leads, are both very good, however, I feel like the direction given by the script seems off. I understand the need to add drama, but the characters are always just a little too close to unprofessional emotional behavior. It’s more understanding as the weirdness builds up, but I feel they both panic too soon and too much. That fault lays within the script and direction, not with the technical aspects of their performance. Still, I am looking forward to how it wraps up.

LilyR2DUThis team is great!I was a big fan of Lighthouse. This group is really good especially the main actress from Lighthouse. And it’s sci-fi so I don’t care if things are super “real.” It’s overall entertaining for my drives. Sometimes a bit fast but a very solid show none the less.

jaevans52MORE curse words please <3.Love it so far don’t listen to the nuns.

Toe-Knee Cap ShinThe cover art said it allI can’t get enough space
-
Navyboots19Needs to be finessed...I agree with another reviewer...Too many curse words. Every other word is f-this and f-that. It detracts from the story. If a military personnel were to be chosen for such a critical mission, the character could be reasonably more calm, collected, not panicky, and less emotional during scenes of emergency. Also.... how come they were so close to things like black holes, debris fields, etc and not have detected it..?? Rather... why didn’t the computer/ship alert them sooner..?? And who cuts open a potentially harmful biological lifeform in the open...and without PPE???? Story has a lot of potential, I must say. Keep pressing!
-
UncleTobiGood showEnjoying it so far, keep up the good work! I love these sci-fi audio dramas! Only thing annoying me is the Jana character personality. I predicted T would malfunction and snap at her lol I was waiting for it. She had it coming. Looking forward to more episodes, keep up the good work!

3243434Hysterical Women in SpaceTwo women in space, I wanted tp like it. But the characters do so many stupid things. I found Sydney the most irritating. She could not be more of an idiot. Alien mold, hazmat suit? Nah, don’t even need a surgical mask. SMH.

StampsGKAnother stellar podcast from the Lighthouse teamI was so excited to hear that the team behind the Lighthouse podcast had another series coming out!! This concept is really cool and out of this world! The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is there seems to be odd audio editing in some sections that don’t make sense. Anytime we hear tapes it’s really hard to hear the actors talk. And some strange balance issues as well throughout. I really like the Sydney character and the depth we are getting from her. I can’t wait to hear where her story goes. She’s for sure very intriguing to me. Maybe it’s to come but I wanna know more of where she comes from. What is her schooling ? Any relationships? The Janna character has potential but I’m confused on where she will go with development? She seemed to start off hot and heavy and really in your face. So much so, I actually feel like it was less on the actor but more on a direction that was chosen for them All in all another great one from the team!

Chase_1234321WonderfulI’m really enjoying this series so far. Would totally recommend if you are a fan of space/sci-fi fiction. Can’t wait for more eps!

barnacle bonerI want so badly to like thisI didn’t want to rate poorly, but my god… if you’re going to make a futuristic sci-fi podcast like this, it is SOOOOOOOO obnoxious that the characters in space exploration leadership roles are so petty, emotional and panicky. Too much. Yes, it’s horrifying stuff but both characters are almost unbearable. I like the plot.. continuing to listen and rated 5 stars bc the plot is clever and pulls you in… but the panic moments drag out too much. I’ve had to stop listening at times bc it’s too over the top and irritating. I respect the fantastic production quality, engaging plot and undertaking! Just my two cents.
