Truthful Analysis of the Greenwashing of America
What a wonderful resource of honest analysis and discussion of the green boondoggles being foisted on Americans by their politicians. Both sides are guilty of participating in the graft. Please add more content soon. This podcast is one of the best out there.

    Carbon Tax and AI
I wish the leaders in the world would listen to these podcasts. Finally someone is speaking up about the nonsense Western Politicians and so called environmental groups (do more damage that good) are pushing on their people.

I found the episode about carbon tax intellectually dishonest at best or outright misleading. For example, the author states that fossil fuel use has increased since the year 2000 despite a push for renewables. Of course it has grown in absolute terms because economies have grown particularly in China plus there are more people in the world. Don’t conflate a bigger world economy with a perceived futility of deploying renewables. Another point was that the price of oil doubled since 2000. His point is it would take a huge increase in oil price via a carbon tax to reduce demand and the size of the tax needed would wreck the economy. He is leaving out inflation. Adjusted for inflation oil has not doubled in price. I wonder if the Manhattan Institute, which the author belongs to, received money from Exxon or other oil companies to peddle their propaganda.

    Excellent & Accurate
Of all the podcasts dealing with energy-related topics, The Last Optimist is at the top of the pack. Mark Mills is exceptionally informative and is not bashful to confront the inconvenient truths that abound in the modern day discussion about energy and electrification. A staunch truth-teller and a believer in market-driven solutions, Mark brings an essentially unheard perspective to the current debate over the mandates to move to “green” and “sustainability.” Highly recommended podcast.

    Energy
Wonderful information on our energy issues in the world. Thanks Mark. Mark, with so much negativity thrown at us daily from news, politicians etc it’s refreshing to here reasoned thought out ideas and approaches to some of our biggest problems. Thanks. Hi Mark, yet another informative talk on energy and this push for a non carbon future. Thanks for your reasonable and realistic break down of the many issues we face. Keep it up.

I have enjoyed listening to this podcast for insights into energy policy and other matters. He separates the dream world within politics and the real world as defined in fact and the laws of science. Great show.

    The Last Optimistic Realist
Perhaps the show should be called “The Last Realistic Optimist”. Appreciate a realist view with the optimism that we can overcome but acknowledge the challenges that we face via a myriad of constraints.

    the world mining
I came across Mark at the Sonoma Valley Authors Fest. His pods are first rate, nonpolitical and scientific. As someone involved with Ai and technology, I found his comments on EV and Materials and ChatGPT especially informative and not infected with the normal hysteria or political side notes.

    All about Mining
Having retired from Caterpillar, this podcast was near and dear to my heart. Not only do the climate change aficionados not consider the pollution and cost and capacity of power generation to run their EV cars Mills points out that there’s one more thing to consider and that’s the cost and availability of mining for the rare earth minerals to produce these albatrosses. I’d also like to see a podcast that analyzes what happens 10 years from now when the batteries need to go into some toxic waste dump.

    Illuminating and important
I’m an avid daily consumer of podcasts across a wide variety of topics. This one stands ahead of all of the others judged by the standard of — tell me something I don’t know and am not seeing elsewhere that is profoundly important to our future, and be analytically solid in presenting it. I could pay other compliments, but by this standard this podcast series far surpasses anything else I have come across.

The year of the E V
Terrific podcasts generally. The latest covering the EV transition is one of the most complete and informative I have seen. Only one possible and possibly important factual error. He says that California voted to eliminate fossil fuel vehicles. In fact, if I am correct, the legislature has refused to ban them so Governor Newsom signed an executive order to ban them and the unelected regulatory agency - the Air Resources Board - then cited to ban them. The authoritarian nature of making such a far- reaching ban without voter approval of any kind is staggering.

    Thumbs Up
Mark Mills’ fact based research make his clearly explained podcasts stand out in subject areas of energy and environmental policy which are crowded with uncertainty and divergence. I look forward to each new episode.

    Must listen/follow
I’ve followed and appreciated Mark’s work for many years. This podcast feels like we’ve been invited into a private briefing session on energy/technology issues. Everything you need to know packaged in a neat concise bundle and with tons of context leaving you feeling like you have a 360 degree view of the issues. Two episodes in and I’m hooked.
