Twil05Skip the musicIt is so unnecessary and very annoying. Takes away from the otherwise excellent podcast, as far as the story telling goes.

Micro!¡Waste of timeHonestly, I don’t usually take the time to rate podcasts but I made an exception for this one. This is truly a waste of time. It’s loaded with contradictions and on top of that, I’m truly shocked Doug hasn’t sued for defamation. It turns out, Sandra DID commit suicide. The only good thing is that hopefully her family has some closure now. But it didn’t need to be turned into a podcast.

insight without SightThought provoking and importantI appreciate all the obvious hard work and intentionality that went into both seasons of this podcast. These cases are not easy to think about and I am sure they were not easy to investigate and produce content about either. Both cases bring up issues that are difficult and uncomfortable in our society. A lot of people consume true crime content rather mindlessly. I have done this myself at times. It is not possible to do this with this podcast. I felt such a range of emotions listening to each season, including sadness, frustration, anger, and a sense of confusion about so many things that do not have easy resolutions. Thoughtful dialogue around topics raised in both seasons needs to continue. There needs to be more discussion and more listening. My heart goes out to the families for all they have been through. Thank you to everyone involved in bringing each season to the podcast audience. I am sure working on these cases impacted all of you as well and appreciate your professionalism and dedication to covering difficult cases involving difficult topics.

😱😳one eyeGood podcastI haven’t listened to Seaon 1 yet but Season 2 was well done. It’s frustrating because it’s so obvious what happened and knowing justice is not being served. Thank you for brining this story to light.
-
MollyCCollinsAn important podcastThis podcast profoundly shares the experiences of abuse victims, their families and even the perpetrators’ experience in each story. It shows the problems in our law enforcement and justice systems and where improvements can and must be made to prevent horrible experiences like Libby or Sandy’s. The only recommendation I could make is sharing how we the audience can help families and victims get justice for their loved ones (call the district attorneys, sheriffs, local government to prompt action on cases, sign petitions, volunteer or donate money to abuse shelters, reporting resources when we witness or experience similar abuses or violence, etc). The more stories we hear, the more we can do to advocate for those who don’t have a voice or who do, but aren’t being listened to.

darlingdaewhy am i paying for +???what is the point of paying for this channel if you’re still going to keep ads on all the episodes? booooo
-
KottonkingspadeSkip AdsAmazing podcast! So well done, people STOP complaining about ads!! There is a 30 seconds skip right next to the Play/Pause button…hit it a few times and stop crying!!
-
PchopCoopAgree with others - too many adsThis could have been a good short run podcast but the ads are very excessive! 13-15 minutes of ads per episode.
-
HeytinyGreat and sad and well done and sad and greatThere were times I cried, times where my jaw hit the floor. Great reporting and I hope Devin gets help so he doesn’t kill anyone else.
-
MN0724Podcasts need ads to survive people!Anyway…I like this host and season one was great. Season two was good but some episodes really didn’t have much info. Looking forward to a season three (I hope there will be one!). These topics are important to get out there!

Kshan03Lots of Ads & MusicThis story could of gone without the awful drawn out music
-
clarizonaExcellentExcellent work here. My heart breaks for Libby and her family. I am so grateful for the folks who put this important story together. Well done.

Andrew from ProvidenceWhat Happened to Sandy Beal ?This is the best of this genre. It marries a mystery with an exploration of profoundly important societal issues: here, suicide, police sexual misconduct, and the devastating impact of failing to protect vulnerable young women who misplace trust in authority. The sensitive investigation and storytelling here left me deeply moved and with deep empathy for Sandy’s family who was forced to suffer with not knowing for decades. Well done!

Sox7778990So many adsI understand needing to monetize your podcasts.. but the number of ads is so excessive, I had to give up listening.
-
TripleE2004Great story, too many adsReally great storytelling, interviews were fascinating. Appreciate the care taken to give Libby a voice. My big issue was that each episode had at least 10 minutes of ads. I know ads are a necessary evil but boy this was too much.
-
VerkaikprincessWhen I have to binge a show, it’s that good. This show hit so close to home for me, I listened to this while at the gym and had a couple break downs. Libby’s story is so heartbreaking and the women talking in the “Epiphany” episode made me think back to my abuse. I feel terrible for Libby no matter how she died, she was failed at all levels. Cannot wait for the next season.
-
joshlumosAwfulThis leads you to believe something completely different than what this is about. The fist 7-10 min of every episode is commercials or the intro theme. This could have been done in 5 episodes but half of each episode is commercials. Not worth your time.

Sdubb 325Music, ads, and narration blehDecent content but the narrator was pretty dull and I found the voice itself a bit difficult to enjoy. The music throughout was super annoying. Ads were not relevant and excessive. I did a lot of fast forwarding and had it playing while cooking so it was fine for that but think the story itself could have been done in half the episodes.
-
grapeape0423Sad, yet true story of what may happen to drug addictsSad but is anyone surprised? Police don’t want to spend much tax payer money investigating drug addicts’ murders.
-
dhuttaSo sadTerrible and devastating what happened. Breaks my heart as a mom. I have to say that the theme song is beautiful.
-
emily7cToo repetitiveSeason 1 review. Pretty good, but it’s so repetitive. This is a podcast I keep on in the background while I’m doing other things because it’s easy to check out for a while and get back into the story. So many ads. What’s keeping me listening is the core of Sandy’s story. What a tragic case.
-
ZuluhqDon’t compare her death to George FloydShe was a victim. He was a criminal who died of a drug overdose. How offensive.
-
PB1334Too much musicI guess podcasters are trying to appeal to as many senses as possible since they are working without images, but sometimes the music is too much. It’s hard to process speech over music; sometimes it’s overkill on the dreary mood; and sometimes it’s just dragging on while you wait for the next sentence. I couldn’t take a whole star for the music. It is a compelling story. I want to jump through the phone and just shake someone (I won’t give a spoiler).
-
Ronnie11111Way too many commercialsI would say that there is about a minute of commercials for every two minutes of content, which is really not bad. If you are able to constantly fast forward to skip through the commercials, it’s a good podcast.
-
HHFAbnkllSpectacular, maddening, frighteningExtremely well written, edited, and clearly articulated. Libby’s story will stick with me. I’m so sorry for her and everyone who loved her and was betrayed by the IPD. I hope every single person involved from her teen years till her death gets their karma sooner than later. I wish Cindy peace as she continues her fight for justice and raising that sweet boy. Those complaining about ads… that’s what keeps this content free. It’s also only a handful of taps to skip through them. To poorly rate and/or stop listening when the remedy takes 2 seconds at most is ridiculous.
-
YboykoWay too many adsWay more ads than content. Won’t be listening.
-
we r t pSo many adsSo many ads it’s ridiculous

TikiRee321Sad & FrighteningThis is a sad and frightening story of domestic abuse!! So many red flags!! What’s even worse is that there seems to be no justice for Libby and her abuser moves on to abuse yet another. Because let’s face it.. he got away with it before. So he’ll for sure do it again! I thought the podcast was well put together and informational. I would like information about the organization that Cindy is working with. My daughter too has been a victim of domestic abuse and fortunately has been able to free herself from the marriage. However they have children in common which keeps her abuser in her life. I want to teach my granddaughters that domestic abuse should not be tolerated by anyone and that you do not have to be a victim as there are resources out there to help you!
-
Yowsa BowsaToo many ads—ridiculous amountWow, five minutes of ads at the start, several breaks with 3-4 minutes of ads. Couldn’t keep listening which is too bad because it seemed like it was well done.
-
ZeldafanyoMy heart for familyMy heart is for Libby’s family pray for you. Devin, you will never leave peacefully on this earth. Please protect the child from him.
-
SamJeterWell-Covered & InvestigatedI’m a few episodes in and already feeling that podcast/story is well investigated & compassionately covered by the host. I want to also say, I am a recovering addict and before it was even revealed in episode 1 or 2, I knew right away Devon was using meth, and I truly believe he killed her in a fit of meth rage. Shame shame shame on IPD. Much love to the family.
-
BlaireAlexisAdsLove the show, love the host, the ads are insane. Come on guys..
-
Pebblesred66Appreciate the show, not the adsI appreciate the host, the content, and the message. But I can’t do another season of 30 minute episodes where at least half of it is ads.
-
amariessaGreat StorytellingI appreciated the insight and storytelling of both seasons thus far. Melissa has a compassionate voice for women who are victims of injustice and violence. Both Sandy Beal’s and Libby Caswell’s stories were heartbreaking to hear, but I hope the information in them will help someone listening to recognize signs and seek help and healing for themselves and/or their loved ones.
-
the destroyer1White womenGeorge Floyd died bc of the fentanyl in his system. He also held a gun to a pregnant woman’s stomach during an armed robbery. Since you cover “violence against women” maybe cover that story
-
joeslummerReview.A mid podcast podcast keeps interrupting the ads. Narrators voice is not pleasing.
-
CountinDownWay too many adsI realize ads pay for the podcast but this was crazy. The ad times add up to longer than the post cast time. Good podcast, kept my attention and wanting to get to next episode.
-
hcchgchhUggAnnoying music played all the time.
-
HeatherThePoolGirlSOOOOOO many adsThis is an insane amount of ads. I listen to podcasts for 8 hours a day. No other podcast is like this. Otherwise, good show.
-
Cubs woowooMost of this Podcast is AdsIf you enjoy listening to ads this is for you. The story was okay. This victim was obviously murdered by her boyfriend and she never wanted help. Not much more to it, sad.
-
J slickGreat podcastHer voice is easy to listen to and the info and story are relevant.
-
dantmamnThat thing on your face… it’s your noseThis is another example of why you should be a professional if you’re going to make a podcast not some Serial wanna be…The answers are so obvious and clear. Family says they know her so well then you find out she secretly had an abortion right before she committed suicide. She writes an obvious suicide note, but that’s not going to fill 10 episodes. If you want to be frustrated, this is for you.*update Season 2 more of the same. Police ask mom Was she suicidal? mom answers. You mean the daughter with the child I’m taking custody of? No, not at all. Stop trying to make a career off others tragedies.
-
Savannah RojanEpisode 7 made me write a reviewThey came for me hard in ep 7, the empathy for the other side. Absolutely incredible.
-
Theman51287The amount of adsCould be an interesting podcast but the insane amount of ads make it hard to even follow the show. Seriously, this is, by far, the most amount of ads I have ever seen on a podcast.
-
Ta2dMnkyEngaging but 60% adsI am admittedly not a podcast person. I use them as entertainment when the situation calls for it. That being said, I found this podcast extremely entertaining. The story was such that I was surprised I hadn’t heard it before in a Dateline or 20/20 episode. The host did a fantastic job. She came across as very professional and her voice is pleasant to the ears. My only criticism is an agreement with previous reviews that the show is extremely ad-heavy. If you don’t pay for the ad free service, you’ll be fast forwarding 2-4 minutes multiple times through each episode.
-
hhab310Ad frequency and length are awful! The ads are insane with this podcast. I haven’t encountered too many others with this amount of ads. It’s 2-3 minutes at the beginning, middle, and end, and most episodes in the first season were less than an hour! That’s ridiculous. Just hitting the skip button anyway. I wanted to listen through to the end of season one, I didn’t want to quit. But the ads are unbearable and at time the story can get confusing.

AjbudaIgnore anything a man says and it works.Trying really really hard to remain impartial, but it is very obvious that the narrator has made zero effort to be impartial. I’ve actually never listened to a podcast where the narrator is just immediately contradictory of anything anyone says that doesn’t fit HER narrative. Two episodes in, and the only thing I have heard plenty that makes a suicide make sense, and literally NO evidence whatsoever that it was not. None. nothing to outline her case. Just a the same people who had zero clue about her abortion swearing that they know that she would never commit suicide. I’ll give it one more episode to give me ANYTHING to believe that this isn’t just a podcast that the narrator used to vent her issues with men. Going to give season 2 a go. Hopefully she has learned some investigative integrity. Maybe a little. But she wants to blame cops for not arresting a guy for something his gf kept saying he wasn’t doing it. To the point of actually interfering with the arrest. Yes some have nowhere to go, but she did, and didn’t want to break contact. Repeatedly. I don’t care the reasons, but eventually she has some personal responsibility to take the help everyone is offering. She continually refused. Quit blaming cops.
-
K8e0Interesting and tragicSeasons 1 & 2 were both interesting and tragic for the victims and their families. I was particularly drawn to Libby’s story. The podcast is extremely ad heavy which is distracting and annoying.
-
Sean WoodsmakerAds make this show unlistenableAs the title says. This show may be great—I have no idea—because the amount and the quality of ads make it unlistenable.
