DebmcdSo GoodI love his voice, the cadence, the topics and the humor. It's interesting yet puts me to sleep. Obviously, quality work like this deserves to be compensated BUT he gives you so much less than other podcasters. A handful of free episodes and a few short snippets. It's not enough to have me hooked and committed to going through the convoluted process that it takes to buy access to the rest of the episodes. He's really good, but there's a lot of competition that is easier to access. I'm on the fence.

Sleepless in Seattle.2Cadence is so off!Wishing I could find a sleep podcast that did have a distracting odd creepy cadence. Harris pauses so much between words that it is annoying rather than soothing. Also the topics should not be exciting because it goes against the principle of falling asleep. Is it too much to ask for a low tone male voice to do these sleep podcasts? Please take my feedback into consideration! I’m still in search of… the right sleep podcast. If you need some good examples listen to Stanley Tucci’s audio book on what he eats in a day. It’s just talking it soothing.

RjnuxLove this podcastI am going through an extremely difficult time in my life. Sleep has been challenging and this podcast has helped me so much. Appreciate so much.

Natalia_BananaYou saved meI have severe ADHD and that has i huge effect on my sleep and how my brain acts. The simplicity of the way you explain the subject makes it so that my brain will try to go faster but at the rate that im receiving the knowledge,(the speed of your communication) forces my brain and body to slow down enough to go to sleep. (Idk if that makes sense) THANK YOU.

Julielee53A TreasureLove everything about this podcast, the creators delivery is fabulous, wonderful sense of humor very dry, the subjects are GREAT - and I watched the Gilligans Island pilot. Brilliant research. Will subscribe!

Nothere2Love itI appreciate that there aren’t background noises or music. It’s perfectly timed speech with a quiet voice. This could be a master class for those many failed and subpar “sleep” story casters. Found this on accident while searching for a story about Silk Road. I’ve spent considerable time searching for sleep story podcasts so it’s strange this one never came until I searched for something completely different. So happy to have found this. Please keep this available to those of us who cannot pay patreon and other fees. Really love the comedy thrown in, like the rephrasing of Rutledge’s Easter Island documentation. Just a quip here and there to make it your own. I truly appreciate what you do here. Thank you.

brittanydeannajust a delightI stumbled upon this podcast by accident and was so taken by Harris’s voice, dry delivery, and silly humor. I’ve listen to every available episode a couple times and sometimes find myself fighting the sleep to finish listening because I’m enjoying it so much. Thanks, Harris! 💤💕

anniebitsLove this!Calm history somehow holds my interest and puts me to sleep at the same time. I’ve listened to a gazillion sleep inducing podcasts. Some are good, some are just annoying. But with Calm History, I don’t feel like the aim is sleep. I feel like I’m just listening to an interesting and entertaining narrative. But it puts me to sleep without fail. So glad I discovered it!!

Kitty4040Thank You!I love the kind of emotional intelligence I hear behind every episode. It stimulates and calms my poor mind that has felt too much but doesn't know any other way to be alive!
-
YukimynaguchiSlow and soothingI find other sleep podcasts too fast to lull me to sleep. The pace is perfect, the narrator’s voice is deep, and the stories are just interesting enough to quiet the mind but won’t keep you up intrigued for what’s to come next
-
I’m a car called bob.HehehmomstalkerI really like this this podcast it is a very good podcast. I think that you should have episodes for every one not just the people that buy the thingy. And I also think that you should talk faster. You…..talk ….like……this. That is why I give it a 4 out of 5
-
JudeDaDude01HistoryI really love history and this podcast helps me sleep. One critique I have is that I wish they would make some full series that are free to everyone because I fell like too many episodes are locked behind a paywall.
-
gffgfr5wsvfhnujkjydcddew5g7This is horribleI wanted a podcast that would not have me looking and reading for hours just to find the first part to a series and he starts two are more at once can can’t find anything on this podcast page
-
SpecialEarsWell Done and Thank You!Thank you so much for these truly calming Calm History stories! Even amongst such a plethora, and I mean plethora of bedtime stories and soothing sleep meditation music podcasts available, I find sometimes this is the only podcast which can really calm me down and distract me from my racing thoughts to get me to nod off entirely, which is the goal right? I love your delivery style, the sound of your voice, and even your silly comedic, timing and humorous comments! You manage to deliver that even in a very low-key way that is not jarring – how perfect! And actually, were it not for the goal of sleep, the stories are truly quite interesting and educational. More more stories, please please! Thank you again, from the bottom of my REM sleep EYEBALLS!

bunnydelamuerteThis helps me sleepThis is a sleep podcast. It’s not one that you’d listen to while exercising or engaging in heavy gym activities or driving. It’s a calm and soothing ride, as the title of the show states. It’s fun and I rarely make it to the end of an episode because I’m usually asleep. My only complaint is I wish there were more full episodes and not the sample episodes. That being said, I still really enjoy the content that is made available at no charge/without subscription.

suznbubbFINALLY! A calm INTERESTING story for sleepLOVE THIS. The other sleep stories are so dumb. This is absolutely perfect. Interesting and soothing. Actually looking forward to going to bed tonight which I normally dread. THANK YOU

GeeEL91Exactly as promisedThe creator and or narrator gives a great history lesson and in a sleepy narrative. The pacing is perfect.
-
maxmill007Salt episode is a favoriteThe history lessons are interesting enough to keep my attention but delivered so calmly, not too stimulating. My brain engages just enough allowing sleep to happen.
-
Al I ❤️ scary👌I’m so sorry but you’re voice is not calming and it’s so raspy fr u sounds like a raspy balloon 🎈 😭😳🤧🫤 but other than that I love the history facts❤️🫣😤
-
SandycottI love the topics but can’t handle the whispery mysterious voice…I listen to podcasts when exercising. This doesn’t work!
-

Lisa K AEntertaining and educational! One of my new favorites!
-
River JetsVoiceI love the subjects and style of your delivery but the popping/snapping of your consonants into your microphone is very distracting.
-
Simplicity10Love this!Just found this podcast and I really enjoy it. It keeps me engaged enough to stop my thoughts from wandering but not so engaged that it keeps me awake wondering what will happen next. Harris has a nice calming voice.
-
PennMacDJoan of Arc - Jeanne D’ArcWow. “ she is named Joan of Arc because it’s believed her fathers name was D’Arc. It survived to be known today as Joan OF Arc.”🤦🏼♀️ No, dude. “De” in French is “of” in English So in France TODAY she would be called Jeanne D’Arc., which LITERALLY translates to Joan of Arc in English. That was excruciating.
-
becky.laviLove!Would love more full episodes and less “alerts” which take up too much space in the feed. Love the show and want more!
-
CMHobgoodRelax and Learn!Great podcast! Where current history conveys such atrocities and struggle, this is an view of history that “connects historical dots” in pleasing, surprising ways. For example, try the “Rubber” episode!
-
TreechicInteresting topics but won’t keep you awakeHarrison reads in a calm and relaxing manner. I hope this podcast continues. Please make more!
-
clarkianneConvincedI was skeptical that a ‘soothing voice’ podcast could help me fall asleep. I almost didn’t try Calm History because I love history and figured the subject matter might keep me awake but within 5 minutes on the first night I was OUT. Please make more!!
-
Vinny VinagrePlease make moreI need more of these!
